Jolie put her foot down on a Christmas wedding, even though it was their anniversary, but agreed to marry on December 23rd. Three years after Jack and Jolie finally admitted their feelings for each other, they were ready to officially become husband and wife. Essentially vibrating with excitement, Jolie tried to calm herself down and did her best to ignore her nerves. She couldn't afford to be jittery right now. Naomi opened the door and teared up when she laid eyes on her. "You're so beautiful," she sobbed.
"Don't you fucking do that because now I'm going to cry," Jolie shot back, trying to swipe at the tears trying to escape.
"I can't believe we're officially going to be sisters." Naomi had fallen apart when Jack confessed to her that he wanted to propose, and keeping the secret from Jolie was one of the hardest things she had ever done.
"You've always been my sister, Naomi. And straighten your ass up - your job as co-matron of honor is keeping the emotions to a minimum until after I walk down that aisle."
"Still rude," Naomi grumbled.
"What was that?" An amused Jolie crossed her eyes and stared her down for a second before cracking up.
"Like Breonna obviously deserves to be your matron of honor but you're marrying my brother so this should be a solo job for me. But whatever, I'm dealing with it. I'm not bitter," she lied.
The two women glanced at each other then teared up again, which is when Breonna swooped in. "Hey, that is enough of that! No more crying, I swear to God." She rolled her eyes at their antics despite wanting to cry herself. She was holding together until her sister was officially married, however.
"Fine, I won't cry yet. But I can't make any promises for later. Or in like twenty minutes," Jolie amended after checking her phone to see what time it was.
Naomi flashed her a smile. Let's get you married, Jo. Time to officially become Mrs. Jolie Friedman. Or Mrs. Jolie Guidry-Friedman. Have you even decided yet?"
"Yes, I've decided, which you already know." Jolie glared at her for a second before pulling her in for a hug.
"Don't wrinkle the dress!" Breonna screeched.
Jolie and Naomi pulled away from each other laughing. "Let's go get me married then." Jolie blew out a breath and gave a watery smile to them both.
A long ten minutes later, Jolie watched as Naomi, Breonna, and two other bridesmaids walked down the aisle ahead of her. She gasped upon laying eyes on Jack. "I love you," she mouthed to him before she started walking herself.
"I love you too," Jack mouthed back, his smile blinding.
Tim kissed his daughter's cheek as they headed down the aisle. "Hi," Jolie whispered when she finally made it to the side of the man she loved.
"Hi. You look so fucking beautiful - Naomi was right."
"Always am," Naomi stage-whispered, shrugging when Jack and Jolie stared at her.
They had chosen to marry at dusk, and the Christmas lights twinkling all around them were absolutely beautiful - it took Jolie's breath away. She and Jack listened as the minister started to speak, and she lost it about two minutes in. Naomi and Breonna both broke about thirty seconds after Jolie, which didn't surprise any of them.
As they exchanged vows, both Jack and Jolie waited impatiently to kiss each other for the first time as husband and wife. Caught up in the moment, he dipped her after their first wedded kiss. She came back up giggling. "That was sweet and romantic but don't do that again," Jolie playfully chided.
Jack gazed in her eyes, awestruck. "Just for that, I plan to several times. Maybe I'll even attempt it a few more times tonight." He beamed at her. "Hello, Mrs. Guidry-Friedman."
"Hi back, Mr. Friedman."
They started walking back up the aisle to cheers, Naomi and Breonna still sobbing behind them.
They celebrated with lots of dancing, the DJ playing a mixture of Christmas and romantic music (sometimes even a combination of both). "I can't believe I get to call you my wife now. Holy shit," Jack murmured after he and Jolie grabbed some candy canes to quell to their appetite a bit before dinner.
"We're together forever now, baby." Jolie winked at him and then quickly kissed him. "Nice. Pepperminty," she approved.
He laughed. "It's cheesy but a Christmas wedding wedding was such a good idea." Off her look, he amended his statement. "Sorry, pre-Christmas wedding even though we have a Christmas-y theme."
"It's a fun story to tell everyone who knows us. Or whoever we meet in the future."
Jack and Jolie couldn't wait to go on their honeymoon, although they had chosen to put it off until after the holidays, not wanting to deal with the hassle and crowds. They had their whole lives ahead of them, and that was worth celebrating. They had even more of a reason to celebrate Christmas now, and they intended to make the most of it.
