I was currently lying in my bed watching the ending of Vrains. No matter how many times I watch this, Ai's death will always make me cry. This is probably, along with Antinomy's, the saddest death from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Series...
By far a better ending than Arc-V. I mean, the person working at Konami who thought Arc-V had a good ending must get fired, no questions asked. Killing 6 characters relevant to the plot, one of the character being perfectly fine that his sister and best bro are stuck forever inside a pink haired girl reduced to a damsel in distress and an EGAO boy ! Damn it !
I really wonder how is it possible to mess up so bad the ending of a show ? Even if Season 3 of Vrains was rushed too, at least it was enjoyable and didn't have some pointless moments like the whole Battle Beast mini arc...
I could only list of what went so bad with Arc-V, but there is nothing I can do to change it.
As soon as this thought crossed my mind, a bright light appeared from my TV, blinding me before it lightened up my entire room.
When I could open my eyes again, I found myself floating in a dark void. Completely nothing around me.
"What the hell is going o..." I could only mutter as a figure appeared in a flash before me.
"Greetings ! I am..."
"AH !" I put my arms in front of my face by reflex.
"Hmm, can I know what you are doing ?" The figure, which had a female voice, asked me.
I slowly put my arms down and looked at the figure. She was wearing a black outfit with a cape and a hoodie. She was really tall, I would say around 10 meters. She seemed rather young, in her twenties it seemed like. She had an amused expression on her face.
"W-Well, it's not everyday a seventeen years old guy gets kidnapped by a crazy tall woman and gets transported in the middle of no where."
"Oh, I see." She realized. "My apologies. I am the Goddess of Mischief Itazura. But please, call me Itazura."
"Hum, well okay." I said, with some kind of nervousness in my voice. A Goddess of Mischief, really ?
"Don't worry, dear. I'm not here to cause you any trouble. Yet..." She said the last word with this kind of smirk that makes you feel uneasy.
"Then...what for ?" I asked.
"Oh simple, I heard that you were among those humans from your world who hated that ending of this reality you were watching."
"Reality ? Does she mean Arc-V ? And how does she know that ?"
"Basically, to make it short, I've been recruiting some humans from where you come from, to put them into these alternative dimensions." She explained.
"Why would you do that ?" I asked.
"Well, when you spend eternal life doing nothing, it's boring. Plus, seeing those humans screwing up those realities is actually lot of fun and action, it's like a movie." She said, with small giggle in her voice.
I sweatdropped with that answer. "Okay then…"
"I heard you wanted to change some things from this reality. Just make sure to entertain me while I watch you."
"So, you are just going to send me to Arc-V ? Just like that ?"
"That is right. Oh, before you go, I think you will need a Deck."
She snapped her finger, making three Duel Disks appeared before me.
"Each of those Disk contains a Deck. You can verify which Deck it is in there. But warning ! Once you chose one, the other two will be gone."
"Okay…"
So, I have the choice between three Duel Disks containing each one a Deck.
First Deck is Revolver's Deck from Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains, the Rokkets, or Vullets if you prefer their original names. Containing also the Varrel, Topologics and some other Dragon supports.
To say I wasn't impressed by this Deck would be a huge lie. I basically had a lot of counters against Zarc with this Deck. Varreload Dragon can steal Zarc himself, Topologic Trisbaena could simply clean his Gates that prevents him from taking Damage, Zerovoros could clean his entire field besides himself. Well, you get the idea. I also get access to the Fusion, Synchro and Xyz version of Varreload Dragon. Savage is really good, as excepted. Furious is solid too. Xcharge is...really mediocre. I will only use him when I can get victory from its effect.
I checked the Deck and those were all the Anime versions of Revolver's cards. Most of them don't change from the TCG but oh boy, Anime Topologic Gumblar Dragon is OP. It can get rid of ALL cards in the opponent's hand, and while Extra Linked it even adds a bonus effect from the TCG one that protects your Link Monsters from destruction by cards effects.
Although, we aren't winner everywhere, Anime Varrelsword Dragon is way less strong. It remains powerful, sure, but it can only be protected from battle once, and its ATK draining effect only works after it attacks. Shame, but what can you do ?
One question remained in my mind, there wasn't any Link Summoning in Arc-V...So how would it work ? Will I be the one introducing Link Summoning to their world or something like that ? And how would they work without Extra Monster Zones ? I wonder how this will work…
Second Deck is Aporia's Deck, containing the Machine Emperors with their five parts. I checked the Deck, wondering how a Deck that counters specifically Synchro Monster is going to help me. I mean sure, they can absorb Zarc. Zarc after all isn't immune to absorbing effects.
But quickly going through the Deck, I checked some things : Wisel was the only countering Synchro Monsters. Granel counters Fusion Monsters and Skiel Xyz Monsters. Not only that, the effects of the Emperors' parts were adapted to hardcounter the Summoning methods that they do.
I quickly checked their boss Monster, Machine Imperial God Machinicle. "Once per turn, you can target and absorb one Fusion, Synchro or Xyz Monster your opponent con..."
Didn't really need to read the rest of the effects. Machinicle basically is the same as the Anime one except it counters all Summoning methods.
Not only that, the Emperors also got some new supports, like Machine Imperial God Dragon Triskelia, who could directly absorb from the Extra Deck when it attacks, Machine Nucleus Infinity Core, who could directly Summon any of the Emperor along with their parts when destroyed, not bad.
This Deck is more interesting that I thought. I will basically be able to counter all Extra Deck users in this series. Meaning, everyone who wasn't from Standard or isn't part of Lancers. Now let's see the third choice.
Third choice was Kaiba's Blue-Eyes Deck. Containing the Blue-Eyes series, including their Synchro and Fusion Monsters, and some generics Extra Deck Monsters that goes well with them. It also contained the broken support from Kaiba's Deck, like Pot of Greed, Heavy Storm, and the Eyes of Blue Tuners. Blue-Eyes White Dragon was my favorite Monster from the original series and I could play a 'modern' version of it.
Now, this was complicated. Two choices were Dragon Decks that I absolutely love and one is an anti Extra Deck that seems interesting to play, maybe well that I will like it. All of them were good Decks, even the Machine Emperor one, so what to chose….
PS : You, the readers, will vote to see which Deck the main character will use. Just review for the Deck you want to see get used.
Not a very long chapter I know but it's mainly to prepare things up for the next chapter.
