It's finally happening, We defeated both Kronos and Gaea, we saved both camps, we made peace between the Romans and the Greeks, and graduated high school. Is it even possible, that Annabeth and I might get our happy ending after all ? I don't know, but even if there's a small chance, I sure as hell am gonna fight for it.
''This way, just a couple more steps'' he said leading Annabeth up the hill ''I had a little help from piper''. She took off her blindfold to reveal a picnic basket, and blanket surrounded by the most beautiful lights ''Percy I...-'' ''Happy birthday wise girl'' for once monsters weren't trying to kill them, they felt quiet safe in New Rome. ''I hope this is better than our date to Taurus'' ''It's nothing like our date in Paris but I guess, anything's better than Taurus'' she chuckled ''HEY-'' she kissed him before he could finish that sentence. She kissed him like it was the first time again, like it was the last, like when they thought they were gonna die. Percy was her person and she couldn't see herself with anyone else. She never wanted this night to end. They pulled apart ''I love you seaweed brain''. They spent the rest of the night dancing and laughing under the stars.
It was about two in the morning when she said ''we should go get some rest, we have a big day ahead of us''. She started to walk away when Percy grabbed her hand pulling her back , then he got on one knee, to tie his shoe. ''Ugh you jerk, I thought you were gonna propose'' he laughed ''Annabeth wait'' and he pulled a tiny pouch from his pocket. ''I am'' he grinned ''what?'' She thought he was just joking around. ''Annabeth Chase, you have been my best friend since we were twelve and my girlfriend since we were sixteen. I love you with my whole heart, and I want you to be more than just my girlfriend or my best friend. Will you marry me?'' She looked at him tears in her eyes, smile on her face and said ''I thought you'd never ask''. '' so is that a yes?'', he looked confused ''yes seaweed Brian of course I'll marry you''. He slipped the ring on her finger and kissed her forehead embracing her in his arms ''now come on, I'm tired'' she said dragging him away.
Annabeth woke to Percys loud snoring at about 8:30 in the morning, of course she had to send a picture of him to piper. ( through email of course ) He was basically drowning in a pool of drool. ''Percy, wake up'' she whispered, he just rolled over and kept snoring '' WAKE UP'' she yelled right in his ear. He sprung out of bed, tripping on his own two feet and ending up on the floor. Annabeth laughed so hard she fell right off the bed, ''come on Percy, we need to get ready'' '' just five more minutes'' he murmured. She started getting changed, '' come one Percy ''. He finally got ready and they left to meet Frank and Hazel at Percy's favourite cafe in New Rome. At first hazel sensed a powerful stone, but pushed that thought away. It was probably just all the imperial gold she told herself. ''I'm glad you guys are looking for a place in New Rome'' Frank said then he looked over at Percy who mumbled something in agreement. '' Yeah, the legion has deemed you both worthy and honorary members, now shall we start the tour'' Hazel said sounding excited.
Frank and Hazel led them all over New Rome showing them various apartments and small houses. It felt as if they had been walking for hours, though Percy knew he shouldn't complain. When they finally found the perfect house, it was a small one story house in a quiet neighbourhood. ''This is it Percy, I can feel it'' Annabeth sounded so excited, just the very idea that she and Percy could go to collage, get married and start a family. Finally He spoke '' Right there Annabeth, that's our room and there a nursery for our-'' BOOM-CRASH the kitchen wall had exploded causing part of the roof to collapse, sending all four of them flying . Frank was knocked clean out, and Annabeth felt like she was falling through Taurus again, when she can too Percy was fighting...
Octavian. ''Why Aphrodite, why!'' Annabeth screamed. That goddess had promise to make her love life interesting and she made good on those promises. For once Annabeth just wanted to be a normal couple and live peacefully in New Rome. ''Annabeth'' Percy yelled , and she rolled out of the way just in time. One of Octavian goons had stabbed his sword into the ground right beside her. Octavian was quick but not two quick, Percy shoved him back '' get lost Octavian'' ''you took my home'' he sneered ''so now I'm gonna take the thing you love the most''. Percy realized they weren't here to kill him, they were here to kill Annabeth. ''Kill the girl'' Octavian squeaked, '' which girl'' one of his minions asked pointing at both Annabeth and Hazel. ''The blonde one, you baboon'' '' your just gonna let him speak to you like that?'' Hazel said, pulling a Piper. She might not be able to charmspeak but it was a lot like manipulating the mist. ''Ugh, why am I just Percys stupid girlfriend'' she sobbed ''I do just as much as he does but all the monster wanna kill me to get back at him''
Everyone stoped and looked at her. She used this to her advantage and stabbed her sword through the gut of one of Octavian helpers. ''Well dear Annabeth, you could always join me as my queen '' Octavian Said and he sound genuine '' you know what, maybe I will '' she threw the ring back in Percy's face. He was on the verge of tears but to shocked to say anything '' oh this is to good and a ring? Oh tisk tisk, poor Percy'' Octavian gloated '' this is even better than killing her'' Annabeth walked over and kissed him, Percy collapsed in tears. Just then Annabeth drove her sword through Octavian's gut. Poor Hazel, she was really struggling to fight off all Octavians goons by herself. ''Don't you ever underestimate me, or my love for Percy again'' she pushed him back and he gasped, a sharp pain flared through his whole body. ''Get lost Octavian'' Hazel screamed and boy did that kid run, if you could call it that.
Percy ran to Annabeth's side in awe, ''I'm sorry'' she said ''I promise never to do that again''. He laughed '' I would kiss you, but you'd probably taste like Octavian'' Annabeth's face turned bright red. Frank was still regaining conciseness but he burst into laughter ''that's the funniest thing you've ever said''. ''Give me the ring'' , she held out her hand and Percy slipped the ring back on her finger. It truly was beautiful she thought, '' I know it's gorgeous just like you'' he said basically reading her mind. ''Wait, hold up'' Hazel said ''ring, like ring as in engagement ring?'' Percy and Annabeth looked at each other, ''yes'' they said. ''I knew I felt something powerful, it's the ring'' Hazel said. Annabeth filled her in on how romantic it was and Percy talk to Frank. ''So who all knows?'' He asked Percy '' you, Hazel, Piper, Leo and her dad''. Frank thought for a moment, '' you told Piper and Leo first man?'' he seemed kinda sad about it. '' Well yeah, I needed Pipers expert advice on planning this whole thing and Leo helped me create the ring'' Frank laughed, ''well at least the ring didn't explode'' Percy laughed too. ''We plan on telling everyone when we return to camp half blood next week''
