'You can't be serious' Ron scoffed, as he, Harry and Hermione walked towards the great hall.
'I am very serious' Harry replied sharply
'Hermione tell him' Ron implored
'Ron's right Harry something like this could be quite problematic' Hermione intoned in that know it all voice
'I never pegged you for a snob or a bigot Hermione' Harry said tiredly
This had been an ongoing argument between the trio for sometime, Ron and Hermione failing to see past the hurdles they feared Harry would face. He'd long ago stopped listening, tuning them out when they down that road.
Harry went on ahead of them and into the Great hall it had been lavishly decorated for the Yule ball that was being held.
He cast his eyes around the vast expanse and spotted who he had been looking for. Sitting at a table in the far corner was a young man Harry's age dressed in forest green robes.
The music began to play as he reached the table, holding out his hand Harry smiled as the man stood from his place and let Harry lead him onto the dance floor. Pulling him close they began to move in time with the soft music.
A bushy haired witch and a freckle faced wizard stood at their table mouths gaping open, eyes wide with abject horror.
'Bad enough he was adopted by scum, but to take up with a snake is just off' Ron snorted with derision 'that snake to boot'
A tall blonde wizard adorned in black robes with a silver trim, stood beside a man dressed in navy blue robes. Both men smiled fondly as Harry moved gracefully around the room.
'Our son is creating quite a stir' Remus smiled looking over towards where Ron and Hermione sat scowling
'As he should' Lucius smirked 'they make a rather striking pair'
Harry and his date spun around the move executing a complicated dance move with ease, the young man in his arms smiled warmly holding on a bit tighter.
'They don't seem happy' Tom said spying the unhappy Gryffindors
'I could care less' Harry whispered 'father and dad taught me to dance like no ones watching'
In a split second Harry dipped Tom and leaned over kissing him hard, before righting them both and dancing the night away.
