Cat lays her head in her lap and she wants to cry because it feels like home to her so much. But she knows that when she opens her eyes it'll all just disappear, this happiness, the feel of Kara's fingers running through her hair.
"You'll have to wake up soon."
Cat almost cries right then and there at the sound of Kara's voice, like it's music to her ears, like it's the last time she'll hear it.
She swallows the lump in her throat, "I know."
"When you do, you should find me."
"But what if…."
Kara bends down to kiss her forehead, "I could never reject you Cat, I've always been waiting for you to come back to me."
"I'm sorry I should've never left, I was running away like a coward."
"It's okay, I know you're not the best with feelings. So, when you wake up, remember to find me. Call me. Love me. I'm waiting."
Cat lets out a shaky breath as a tear slides down her cheek, "Okay."
Cat savors the moment and then she opens her eyes and she's awake in her bed, tears on her face and the ghost of Kara's warmth in her memory.
She lets out a chuckle and reaches for her phone, she hits Kara's number, she knows it's still the same. It rings once and the line picks up, Kara's sweet voice echoes through, "Hey."
Cat smiles into the phone, "Hey."
