Hey everybird! What's up!?

First off I want to say I'm sorry for the little absence, things have been a little exhausting over on my end, with personal family stuff and well that leads to this thing!

So today is one of my most favorite days of the year… Star Wars Day! And to celebrate the day, well I prepared this little one shot, which takes place during The Scarlet Rebel: A Star Wars Story, in between 28 and 29, "Cinder's End" and "A Little Gift".

So without further ado…

(Lisa's POV)

"About time to head on in…" I breathed a sigh of relief as I kept my grip on the flight stick of my T-65 X-Wing, flying in a normal pattern around the task group I and the rest of Blue Squadron was assigned to, heading towards the cruiser the squadron was based in for now.

"Oh come on Lisa, I thought you love flying instead of being coped up in your quarters all day." Tiago communicated to me as he flew his X-Wing besides me.

"I know, but I rather be blasting TIEs now instead of routine patrols…" I complained.

Ever since Operation Cinder failed for the Empire, they pulled back a little, reorganizing their forces while the Alliance continued to gather strength and one by one liberate the many systems under Imperial rule. Of course with the Empire avoiding confrontation for now, there was a break in the fighting, but we still needed to be on alert, which was why Tiago and I, along with some other fighters and bombers were out and about, just in case Imperial ships attacked the task group.

As our time ended for our patrol in the schedule, we were flying to the cruiser, ready for a nice hot meal when we got back, however I had a different idea in my head as I spotted the cruiser's bridge…

"Hey Alex…" I turned to my ever reliable astromech nestled into the socket behind my cockpit. "How about a nice buzz by the bridge, for some fun?" I asked my astromech as he gave back beeps that agreed with me, but…

"No Lisa, come on, if the commander hears about it, you'll be in trouble…" Tiago told me as I pretended not to hear that.

"What, I can't hear you, you're breaking up…" I fiddled with the comms in my X-Wing, making it static.

"Lisa, I know you can hear me, don't do it." Tiago warned me.

"Too late…" I smiled as I put more power to the engines and aimed the nose of my starfighter directly at the cruiser's bridge, leaving Tiago behind as I figured he was most likely shaking his head at me, which I didn't have a problem with as I sped up, coming closer and closer to a collision course to the cruiser's bridge.

By the time the crew on the bridge could see me, I was close enough that I could see them suddenly go wide eyed and well before it was too late, I turned my flight stick to the right as far as it would go and zoomed away from crashing into the cruiser. As the crew on the bridge calmed down from the scare as I knew they would be, I was laughing happily as Tiago caught up to me and came to my cockpit level so we could see each other face to face.

"Why do you have to be so difficult?" Tiago communicated to me.

"Oh come on Tiago, lighten up." I chuckled. "Alright, lets head on back, I had my fun." I told Tiago as we began the landing process, coming to the cruiser's hangar as I extended out the landing gear of my X-Wing, touching down onto my space in the hangar.

As I turned off the X-Wing's engines, hearing them shut down, I took off my helmet and opened my cockpit, shaking my head feathers as the ladder was brought over for me to climb down.

"You good Alex?" I asked my astromech as he was currently being lifted out of his socket as he beeped back happily as I continued to climb down until I reached the hangar floor, where Tiago was already down and waiting for me.

"You better hope the commander doesn't hear about your little stunt…" Tiago told me quietly.

"Relax I'm sure he wouldn't punish me, now lets get some…" I began as then a voice came from the hangar's loudspeaker system.

"Blue Five, please report to Commander Blu, Blue Five, please report to Commander Blu." The voice spoke as I then froze slightly as I saw Tiago begin to move his beak and I knew what he was going to say.

"Not another word…" I sternly told my wing partner as I had no choice but to go to the commander and as I walked out of the hangar, I very much imagined Tiago looking at me and saying… "I told you so."

With my helmet tucked under my wing, I bravely made my way through the cruiser's interior until I came to the officer's section in the ship, walking to where the squadron's commander was. As I stood in front of the door to the office, I took a deep breath before I rang it to tell the commander I was here.

"Enter." I heard Commander Blu call out as I opened the door and stepped inside, raising a wing in a salute as the commander returned it before lowering his wing. "Please take a seat Blue Five." The commander told me as I sat down, putting my helmet onto my lap as I began speaking.

"Sir, if this is about me just buzzing the bridge at the end of my patrol time, I can…" I started, but the commander raised a wing, motioning me to stop as I shut up and let the commander speak.

"That's not why I called you." The commander began. "As you and the rest of the squadron know, I have been looking for a new second in command ever since Captain Roberto's loss at Naboo during Cinder." The commander said as I knew saying that was hard for him as I knew he tried his best not to show any emotion. "And I believe it should be you."

"Me sir?" I said, completely surprised.

"Yes, you are the best pilot in the squadron and not only that, but you have the ability to lead and inspire others, remember, I once put you in charge of a mission and you succeeded despite the odds against you." The commander reminded me as he paused for a few seconds to let what he said sink in. "So, do you accept?"

"With all due respect sir, I think I have to decline this offer." I answered to the surprise of the commander now. "Trust me, I am truly honored by this offer, really I am, but to be honest I think it will be a great disservice to the rest of the squadron and especially my wing partner, he and I work well together and separating us may have consequences in the future."

"Well, I must say I am baffled, I expected the opposite, but the choice is yours to make." The commander clearly a little disappointed as I figured he would be from my answer.

"If I may make a suggestion sir?" I asked.

"Go ahead." The commander allowing me to continue.

"I know it may be hard, but your second should be someone who knew Roberto personally, someone who knows his friend and would be sure to uphold his position to his or her full potential." I suggested.

"Good idea Blue Five, I will take that under consideration." The commander told me.

"Thank you sir." I replied. "Is that all?" I asked, wanting to get back to Tiago.

"Yes, you are dismissed." The commander allowed me to leave as I got up and was almost out the door, but the commander spoke up again. "Actually, one more thing Blue Five."

"Yes sir?" I turned my head around to face the commander.

"If I hear you doing another stunt outside of combat, I'll take you off the patrol schedule and make you clean all of the squadron's astromechs for a week, am I understood?"

"Yes sir…" I sighed as I cursed myself for blurting out about my little act before coming to the office.

"Good, that is all for now." The commander finally excused me for real as I could finally relax as I headed back to the hangar area where Tiago would probably still be, waiting for me to return.

Returning to the hangar area, I looked around all of the crew and ships until I spotted Tiago, with Alex and Ashley, still be our X-Wings. Walking up to them, Tiago was the first to speak.

"So, what exactly did the commander want?" Tiago asked me.

"You wouldn't believe it… He asked if I wanted to be his second in command." I answered slowly.

"Seriously!?" Tiago's beak turning into a beaming smile. "That's great! I better get used to start calling you "Captain Lisa"." Tiago joked as I wasn't smiling back as his happy expression dropped seeing me. "You did say yes right?"

"I didn't accept the position." I revealed. "Believe me, part of me wanted to say yes, but I couldn't, I didn't want us to split up and be apart from each other while flying."

"But Lisa, you're the best choice and if you ask me or any of our squadmates, you're long overdue for a promotion." Tiago still surprised I didn't take this opportunity.

"Tiago, I'm happy where I am and it's going to take a lot more than a promotion for you to get rid of me." I finally joked as I gave Tiago a quick kiss on the cheek. "Also, I might have let slip about my little stunt and well… If I do it again, I have to clean all of the squadron's astromechs for a week…"

"I did warn you…" Tiago reminded me.

"Yes, I know…" I rolled my eyes at my boyfriend. "And I would rather be flying patrols than cleaning a dozen dirty astromechs, but speaking of which, I think you're in need of some cleaning buddy." I turned to Alex as he could sure use a good cleaning, to which Alex beeped back happily, thankful he was going to get it.

"Why don't we go grab a bite to eat first and then we can clean Alex and Ashley together?" Tiago suggested.

"Sounds good, Alex, you're okay if Tiago and I leave you here?" I asked my loyal astromech, to which he gave me a positive beep. "Thanks buddy, I'll be right back to make you spotless." I smiled as together with Tiago, we headed to the mess area of the cruiser, to refill our energy for our next patrol and maybe hopefully another battle against the Empire to free another world and finish and win the war for the Alliance.

And I'll end it there!

Again, I apologize for lack of updates! The next story will be the prequel to A Small Chance and I need to think more on that before starting it! Don't worry, the story will come as soon as things calm down a little on my end!

Other than that, I hope you enjoyed this little one shot to help celebrate Star Wars Day! And with that…

May the Force be with you, always!
