Prologue: One to Rule Them All
The Sun Continent, home to a very enjoyable ambience and rich folklore to those native to it, as well as visitors, is considered a paradise for those looking for an escape from jobs or are looking to vacation with their loved ones.
That's what the majority says.
Within this tropical land, lays a dark operation. In the settlement that is Dusk Village, a few kilometers away, a fortress can be found, inhabited by a shiny Hydreigon, who has the village on a pseudo-dictatorship, having his troops patrol frequently, making sure no one attempts to interfere with their master´s work, which is unknown to most of the village, save for a few worker Pokémon commanded by the dragon.
A Pokémon in particular, resident of the village, always was unwelcoming of the dragon's presence in his home, a Bisharp. He is among the few that manage to overhear conversations between the many Scyther that worked for the dragon.
The Scyther were not to be taken lightly, if one wanted to even go outside the village, one would have to report it to the patrols, ensuring nothing suspicious occurs. One wrong move, and it could end badly for whoever was caught.
Bisharp was aware of this, resulting in having to be very cautious whenever he went outside to gather information from them, in order to find a way to bring down Hydreigon's rule.
Near the shore, at Guardian's Beach, two Scyther land on the hot sand, taking a moment to discuss their work, "Welp, another useless search, can't we get a break or something? Is he really that obsessed with this?" one of the Scyther asked.
The other closed his eyes, sighing as he answered his collague, "We must keep searching no matter what, do you want to get ourselves killed or what?"
"I know, I know, it's just that… what is it that he's searching for to be part of his mission?!" he exclaimed raising his arms.
"That is information only he and the elite know of, but I gotta give him credit, he´ll do anything to get that great treasure, whatever it is."
As the two talked, Bisharp stood quietly near some of the trees, making sure he was out of sight as much as the trees allowed him. He made mental notes on the conversation. He had obtained more than enough.
'Just need to get out of here without being spotted.'
He kept an eye on the two, until, he saw the window he needed, and dashed as silently as he could. He bumped into a tree, shaking its leaves briefly while letting some fruits fall off of it. He didn´t think twice and made his way towards his house.
"Huh? What was that?"
"Meh, must´ve been the wind, it's been kind of windy."
He wasn´t sure how he wasn't caught or seen, but he was very much glad it was this way. But he only got more questions than answers from that conversation. He entered his house quickly, closing the door desperately.
"'He will do anything to get his hands on that 'great treasure''? Just what kind of treasure is he looking for? There's nothing I know of that could interest him!" The Bisharp questioned to himself as he walked around his small house. Exhaling heavily, he slumped near a wall, as he turned his head to his door. Muffled steps from the outside could be heard, originating from the very same Scyther he spied on moments ago.
He knew it was best to keep a low profile for the time being. If he did anything too daring, he would risk getting himself caught and questioned. That would end up being bad for the other rebels.
'Can't risk getting the others caught. Let alone go out to meet with them. Sorry, Torterra, we still aren't in the best position to strike yet.' He said internally as he stared at his ceiling, sighing heavily.
Not long after the Hydreigon forced some workers to build his fortress, an underground rebellion was formed by Bisharp, along other residents from the village, even Pokémon from the neighboring town joined too. The head of this group was Dusk Village's elder, Torterra, some said he was immortal, old yet very capable of fighting.
Meanwhile, as the Scyther finished their patrol, they flew back to their base, the dark colors contrasting against the lush scenery of the land. They landed straight to the throne room. Immediately after, they bowed after the figure in front of them.
"My lord." The two said in unison. Flapping was heard as their master approached them.
They felt three pairs of eyes staring right at them, a blank yet imposing presence was felt throughout the room, as the other Scyther also bowed down.
"Any reports on the search?" Hydreigon firmly asked, straight to the point.
"None, sir. We are still looking." One answered.
"Remember, be mindful of covers. I don´t want to raise the Guardians' attention now, if that ever happens, everything I have done would go to absolute waste. We are in no way ready to make a move yet, and it would be worse if they decide to call Solgaleo and Lunala. Do you understand?" He asked.
"…" Nothing came from them. They looked down, slightly trembling.
"I said… Do you understand!?" He exclaimed, getting a "Y-yes, sir," this time.
"Good. Get back to your respective stations, all of you." He dismissed the Scyther present in the room. As soon he was left alone, a shiny Beheeyem approached, his right hand.
"Master Hydreigon, I see you are still keen on maintaining a low profile with this operation. It appears as if the decision to indirectly rule over Dusk Village was a good idea on the long-term." He stated telepathically, the dragon-type hummed in response.
"Yes, it was. The Guardians and their Kahunas would not bother investigating unless we posed a threat to the continent, which we are not. Quite yet."
"Master Hydreigon, how long would we need to keep this cover from the Guardians?" Beheeyem questioned, awaiting his master's response.
He got it in a matter of seconds.
"Until we find that treasure, Beheeyem. Then we can proceed with the next stage of our operation. The Guardians will have to oblige in it, one way or another." He answered determinedly, looking out to the landscape.
Once everything is done, the world will be gone in a matter of time. All of it. Not even Solgaleo or Lunala could interfere if everything is executed perfectly.
"Very well, sir." Was all Beheeyem said before exiting the room too, leaving the dragon finally by himself. He shortly started to contemplate the current situation.
His right-hand did make a point. Someway or another, the Guardians will start to become suspicious of them, and most definitely defeat them unprepared. The fact that the family of one of the Kahunas live close to the village made things worse.
All of their attempts at finding the treasure have been unsuccessful so far. He insisted on searching in Invader's Ravine, where it is rumored that the beast known as Necrozma landed ages ago. The majority refused, though, with clashing theories and tales of the beast's current location, often ending in no searches done near the dungeon.
"This world shall be reformed in his great image, the golden wings embracing it all…" He murmured, followed by snickering which eventually turned into mad laughter.
'No protector to stop me this time. No alpha, and no signs of the child´s existence.' He hissed in satisfaction.
Absolutely nothing will stop him. He will not let this victory be taken from him at all. He dared to defy nature and he will come out triumphant.
Unless nature decides to strike back with the worst it has for him…
