I have known Sakura for around 10 years now, 8.5 years of which we have been dating! We have been together since December 10, 2014. We were 16 back then.
We were both students Konoha College 10 years back. Sakura supposedly had a major crush on me since the first time she met me, however we did not know each other personally back then.
To get to know me, she slyly started to befriend Naruto who was one of my bestfriends since childhood. She asked him to throw a party where we could spend some time. That bore fruit, we got introduced and became acquaintances. At that time, I was dating some one else named Karin, the college slut. Even now, I shudder everytime I think about her.
What actually got us talking was my Facebook post where I posted my dog, Lucy's picture. She commented on it, I commented back and soon we took this discussion to our chat! She made the '1st move' by asking for my number and then calling me that night itself. For someone who has talked to me only few times, that was quite a bold move.
Soon we started talking more and more. We also ended up in the same class in college because of our degrees. Midway, she left for Australia for a 2 month family trip. One of the nights there, she stayed awake till 4:30 AM Australian standard time to wish me at midnight for my birthday. Sakura clearly showed me how special I was for her.
However, things started going downhill as my then girlfriend, Karin got jealous of our friendship Sakura and I shared and asked me to stop talking to her completely. I did as she said. Yes, I was a fool back then. A couple of months later, my girlfriend and I were no longer together after I saw her making out with one of the guys of the football club.
Knowing how I felt about Sakura and how she felt about me, I started pursuing my her. After I had stopped talking to her, courtesy of my ex girlfriend, no thanks to her, Sakura was quite pissed. After asking for her forgiveness, I knew that I gained her trust.
On December 10, 2014, I asked her out in the worst possible way. I texted her on Facebook saying, "So we are dating, right?"
After waiting for 4 minutes, which seemed like eternity for me, Sakura replied, "Yes". For a couple who is super romantic (don't let stupid Naruto know), this was an extremely pathetic beginning.
However, we did not look back since then. From going to the same college for 3 more years, to the same tuition (both of us took English as our minor degree), to studying in the same library, we havr spent as much time together as possible. Through the fights and the making up, our bond grew stronger.
A tricky phase we encountered was when we were in a long distance for 2 years while I was pursuing business postgrad. Even through all of this, Sakura made it much easier with her ability to make me feel special. 2 months into our long distance relationship, my girlfriend gave me a surprise visit on campus on my birthday with help from my roommate, Shikamaru. This also signalled to the other girls to stay away.
On December 31, 2019, while were outstation in Mizugakure, I proposed her for marriage during the fireworks for the New Year. Just like the time I asked her whether we were dating, she yelled a "Yes!"and smothered my face with kisses.
Our wedding was scheduled in the following spring. We shared our vows together and married. When I think that, that was the happiest day of my life, Sakura was proved it wrong. The most happiest day of my life so far is the day when Sakura announced that she is carrying our child. The joy of being parents to a little life we made together was overwhelming for me and I shed a few tears (again, don't tell stupid Naruto about this).
Now, as I am watching my young toddler, Sarada cominv towards me while uttering "Papa", I feel warmth in my heart. I have a family with the woman I had fallen for 10 years back. I know I am very lucky to spend my life with the woman I love and my princess who is the most important person in my life.
