A/N: No spanking in this one, just plenty of Little Mandy and Mama goodness. :-)

Amanda stood in the aisle looking at all the various cards for Mother's Day. She was mildly annoyed because nothing seemed to fit just right. She picked up yet another card and opened it. She laughed, finding it quite humorous, but still, it just wasn't quite right.

"It does these old bones good to see a young person who still respects their mother enough to send a card on Mother's Day." an old woman probably in her late eighties smiled at Amanda.

"Thank you. I love her very much." Amanda smiled kindly. She wasn't going to even try to explain that she was looking for a card for her wife. The blonde detective had no intention of sending any kind of recognition to her biological mother down in Georgia except maybe a text if she felt like she could handle it. Most likely anything she sent would just get thrown away anyway. The trauma from the incident when she was ten was still with her; Amanda had given her mother a vase she'd spent a week making in art class to replace one that she had broken, only to find it in the trash a mere three hours later.

Just when Amanda was about to give up in frustration, her face lit up as an idea popped into her head. She grabbed the few items that Olivia had asked her to pick up, paid for them, and drove home. Olivia wasn't home yet, so Amanda put away the items she'd bought. The blonde glanced around the apartment and smiled. The fridge was covered with at least three of Little Mandy's paintings and drawings and there on the kitchen counter was a paper mache basket Little Mandy had made that was now used to hold mail. Mama never threw away anything Little Mandy made for her. The door suddenly opened and Olivia walked in.

"Mama!" Amanda cried happily, suddenly feeling 'little'.

"Hi, baby. How's Mama's girl?" Olivia smiled, taking her cue and gathering Amanda into her arms for a hug and kiss.

"Good. I just got home. Can I have a diaper change?"

"Of course. Give Mama two seconds."

"One, two." Amanda counted and giggled.

"Oh, I see Mama has a silly little girl on her hands today." Olivia teased. She kicked off her shoes, picked Amanda up, and carried her down the hall to the bedroom where she laid Amanda down on the bed and reached underneath Amanda's t-shirt to tickle her belly.

Amanda giggled as Mama's nails danced across her belly, using her arms to shield her sensitive skin. Mama gently pulled Amanda's jeans and panties down and off her body and changed Amanda into a diaper, keeping up a steady stream of gentle chatter as she did so. Then she guided Amanda to sit up and slid behind her to cuddle her. Little Mandy snuggled happily into Mama's arms and Mama gently cuddled and rocked her, cooing to her tenderly while Amanda sank fully into 'little' space.

"Mama, can I do art?" Amanda asked after a while when she was starting to grow restless with cuddle time.

"Yes, baby. Let's go find your art supplies and you can play while Mama does some boring grownup paperwork."

Olivia knew that she was going to seriously regret it, but she even handed over the glitter when Amanda asked for it. She hoped that whoever invented glitter died a painful death; the stuff got all over everything and hung around for weeks no matter how often she vacuumed.

"Mama, you can't look. It's a surprise." Amanda said seriously, motioning toward all of her art supplies scattered on the table.

"Oh, okay. I'll take my paperwork over to the couch, then." Olivia kissed Amanda's forehead and temple and left the kitchen with a glass of ice tea.

Little Mandy spent several hours busily painting, drawing, coloring, cutting, pasting, stapling, gluing, and creating her masterpiece. Her project wasn't finished yet when Mama announced that it was time for lunch and Mama decided to take Little Mandy to McDonalds for lunch to avoid going into the kitchen and ruining the surprise.

"Can I have a cheeseburger, fries, and a cherry coke?" Amanda asked hopefully while they stood in line waiting for their turn to order.

"You can have a cheeseburger and fries, but no coke. It'll be time for a nap when we get home. You can have chocolate or white milk, Sprite, or apple juice to drink." Mama explained Amanda's options.

"I don't want apple juice." Amanda pouted.

"Well, then you can have milk or Sprite."

"I guess I'll have chocolate milk." Amanda decided.

"That's my good girl." Mama praised and Amanda beamed.

After lunch, they drove home and Mama cuddled Little Mandy to sleep for her nap despite the little girl's protests.

"But, Mama, I'm not tired!" Amanda insisted even as her eyelids drooped.

"I know, lovey." Mama smiled, cuddling Amanda as the little girl's deep blue eyes slowly closed.

Amanda woke up crying from a nightmare and Mama spent some time soothing her, listening sympathetically as the little girl sobbed and told her about scary memories of her Daddy's belt and ice cubes being put inside of her. Amanda was having far more nightmares than usual lately and Olivia made a mental note to call her little girl's therapist about it in search of any suggestions of anything Olivia could do to help. She was always willing to listen when Amanda wanted to talk and held her when she cried, but not being able to do anything else to fix the problem made the brunette detective feel helpless.

"Mama, I'm wet." Amanda sniffled, her eyes red and puffy from crying.

Mama gently laid Little Mandy on the bed and gently changed her into a fresh diaper. Once she was fully awake and felt okay again, Amanda went back into the kitchen to finish making Mama's surprise. When she was finally finished, she took her finished creation to hide it in her room until tomorrow and then went back into the kitchen to clean up the mess she had made. Olivia sighed; of course, there was glitter everywhere, but at least Amanda had enjoyed herself.

The next day was Mother's Day. Amanda crawled out of bed, being careful not to disturb the sleeping detective beside her, and went to the kitchen where she started the coffee. Then she made eggs, bacon, and toast and filled a small bowl with raspberries. She placed everything on a tray and then ran to her room to retrieve Mama's gift. She placed the elaborate paper mache vase filled with elaborate paper mache roses on the tray as well and carefully carried the whole thing to the bedroom where she found Mama starting to wake up.

"Happy Mother's Day, Mama!" Little Mandy smiled.

"Well, this is quite the surprise! I see you have been a busy little bee this morning." Olivia smiled, sitting up in bed.

Mama and Little Mandy lounged on the bed while Mama enjoyed her breakfast and admired Amanda's gift. Mama wasn't even going to address the fact that Little Mandy wasn't allowed to use the stove without supervision. The apartment was clearly still standing and Amanda had all of her fingers, so they could talk about it tomorrow.
