Hey, y'all! This is a little something I wrote FOUR years ago! I can't believe I found it. I did a few minor grammar and spelling edits but left the story the same. I hope y'all enjoy it!
The Stoic Puppet
He was always called a stoic puppet. Whether they knew him or not, he was an emotionless doll in their eyes. He would go about his daily life, to work and from, always wearing a neutral face, sometimes with a glare overlaying it. On his way to work, he would buy a cup of black coffee and drink it, keeping a glare on his face. He would take his car and drive perfectly to work and always park in the same spot. Everyone else was too afraid to park there. He would say the minimum that was needed at his job, and always do everything perfectly. On his way home, he wouldn't stop anywhere, unless to go to the store. He always left home and came back at the same time each day, and when he went to the store, he took no longer than an hour. He was called a puppet for being perfect in any and every way without questioning his daily activities. Always on time and without error. Few knew his real age, but all knew he looked younger than he really was. All but one.
It was his usual routine in the morning. He woke up at precisely 6 in the morning, took an eight minute shower, brushed his teeth, and took care of his hair that wasn't really messed up at all. He then got dressed in his black t-shirt and tight jean pants and was ready to go by six-thirty. He grabbed his bag and got in his black car before turning the engine on. He began to drive to his usual coffee place, and when he got there it was crowded as always. However, everyone moved out of his way, like usual, so they wouldn't be the cause of his messed up schedule.
The girl at the counter smiled, like always, and said, "Hello, Mr. Sasori! Coffee like always?" The redhead nodded just like always and the girl grabbed a cup from behind the counter, "Here it is, hot and ready, just like how you always have it!" Sasori nodded again and, after he paid, left with his coffee. After getting his coffee, he went back into his car and drove the rest of the way to work. He pulled into the parking lot and drove to his normal spot, but there was a car in the way. The car was clearly brand new and was a dark silver and very small, just enough room for two people and maybe a trip to the grocery store. It irked Sasori in the worst way possible that someone had taken his spot. Obviously there was a newbie who hadn't learned who he was. He decided to park in the empty spot next to it and go to work like usual, without spending any more time thinking about the car.
As he entered the building, he noticed people were avoiding him more than usual. He heard one worker say to another, "Stay away from him. You don't want to encounter the stoic puppet's wrath." The redhead smirked. Just the way he liked it: everyone avoids him and he gets more work done. Sasori continued to his area of the building. As he reached his large desk room, he caught sight of his boss standing in the doorway, just arriving to catch him.
He walked up to the orange-haired man and nodded. In turn, the boss nodded and said, "Good morning, Sasori. I see you are here just on time, like always." There was no response, like usual, and he continued, "I wanted to call you up to my office for a few minutes. There is something I ask of you. I want to see you in five minutes." Sasori nodded again and entered his room while he watched his boss walk away.
Sasori's room was filled with computers and monitors, with countless cords lining the walls in many places. There were grey filing cabinets on either side of his main desk and in the other corners of his small room. He had a black cushioned swervy chair for himself, and there was an extra one in the room that wasn't there before that he noticed right away. He usually kept the lights off because he worked the best in the dark. If he turned the lights on, it would be too bright and hurt his eyes. To ensure he could still see, he brought his own table lamp and it would always stay on and to the opposite side of the room than where he worked. The room was about half the size of a school classroom, the dimensions were around 16 feet by 12 feet. It was one of the largest rooms the company had given to a worker because he was always efficient and taking on more work that he needed more space. He ended up taking up another person's room to make up his.
The redhead set his bag on the desk gently and turned on his computer quickly. Without having to wait, he entered a few passwords and opened a coding program. After doing a few more things, he clicked a 'start' button and left his room quietly. Upon reaching his boss' room, he knocked three times. Once he heard the 'come in' of approval, he opened the door, quickly entered, and saw a young, long haired blonde sitting in one of the seats, looking down and being quiet.
The boss spoke immediately and Sasori listened carefully to his words. "Today, there is a trainee starting here and, since you are our best worker, I'd like you to teach him about the way we run this company." The boss pointed to the one sitting on the chair, and Sasori's eye scanned the blonde.
The blonde was wearing tight black jeans that showed off his figure well. He had a black short sleeve crop top with a long sleeve fishnet shirt underneath, tucked into his jeans, with black silver-spiked combat boots on his feet. His yellow-blonde hair was tied in a half pony with a large fringe covering some of his left eye. The hair not in a pony fell down to his mid-back, and it was clearly cared for well. His eyes were outlined by thick eyeliner and his lashes covered in dark mascara. His lips were full and colored with a deep black lipstick.
"What am I supposed to do with this emo brat?" The redhead crossed his arms as the boss began to explain.
"You always show up a half an hour early here, and let not a moment be wasted. You are super skilled, and you have never made a mistake. I believe that if you teach him, he can learn from the best." The boss had a serious expression, ruining the features of his face. Sasori was about to refuse by turning and saying so, but the boss said, "This isn't a request. Think of it more as work I am assigning to you."
Sasori 'tch'ed and looked at the blonde once again for just a second and left the room. Before the door shut, he said, "I understand." and walked away.
The boss shook his head and said, "He may seem like a rude person, but if it involves work, then he'll do it." The blonde nodded and was about to leave when the boss added, "If you need someone else to teach you, then, please, ask me. It would do no good if you didn't learn what is needed." The blonde nodded again and followed after the redhead.
Sasori was clicking buttons and taking notes down when the door opened quickly, revealing an out-of-breath blonde. The blonde closed the door quickly and stood in the doorway. He stood, breathing in and out fast, trying to steady his breath for a minute. When he finally got his breathing in control, he looked over at the redhead who hadn't changed what he'd been doing for the past few minutes. He decided to speak up, "Umm, I just wanted to say, hello...? Woah, it is dark in here, un." The blonde waited for an answer, but it was silent in the room other than the sound of pencil scratching against paper. "I'll be working under you… please teach me what you can… un."
Sasori didn't do anything. He just continued to type and click and scratch his pencil on paper. It was another few minutes of silence and the blonde tried getting the redhead's attention again. "Umm… I wanted to know what you'd like me to work on now… un." Sasori ignored him, and the blonde was starting to get annoyed. Louder, he said, "I wanted to know what I should start working on right now, un." There was still only the sound of Sasori working. "… I'll go somewhere else then. I can just get someone else to teach me, un… I wanted to get along with you, but if you won't try, then I won't try, un…" The blonde looked at the redhead, and he still showed no signs of giving his attention. "… I remember the boss saying that this was another work assignment, un… I guess I'll go ask him to get someone else to teach me, un…"
The blonde gave one last look at the redhead, and turned to leave. Before he could open the door and leave, though, Sasori spoke up, "Wait," The blonde turned around and watched the redhead set his pencil down and turn in his chair, "I can't let you leave my room until you know how this company works."
The blonde's face brightened, and Sasori glared. He turned back around and stacked up his papers into one pile and closed the programs on his computer. "Do you have a computer with you?" Sasori stared at the blonde who nodded. He looked over the blonde once more, finally noticing the bright blue orbs popping from the dark eyeliner. "What's your name, brat?"
The blonde puffed his cheeks at the nickname and said, "It's Deidara, un."
"Well then, brat, take it out." Sasori sighed and continued to move the papers and other things on his desk while Deidara pulled his grey laptop out and turned it on. The redhead motioned to put it on the desk, and Deidara did so. "You got the boss to recognize your talents, but how much do you know about computers?"
Deidara looked at the redhead, and typed his password. The desktop loaded quickly and the blonde asked him, "What do you want to know?"
Sasori internally sighed and turned to the computer. He was about to search through the computer when he asked, "Is this the computer you use for everything?"
Deidara gave a short thought and said, "Yeah, I only have this one computer, but it's the best one I've had." He watched as Sasori began digging through his files. If he had nothing to hide, he'd be fine with it, but everyone has secrets. Gratefully, Sasori noticed when the boy got tense at certain folders, so he avoided them for the kid's sake. Plus, he wasn't even interested in other people's lives. All he wanted was to be able to do his work and live in peace and quiet. But somehow, this blonde had been basically dumped onto him, and because it was work, Sasori couldn't turn him down.
Sasori found many different coding programs and he was surprised to say the least. Some of them were very expensive, just for a month. He thought the blonde looked sort of poor, but maybe he had to rethink it. "Have you taken coding classes or anything like that?"
The blonde thought for another moment and said, "My parents wanted me to, so they sent me to a coding college early, and I ended up taking many classes, so I believe I know a lot more than most."
Sasori looked at the blue eyes and said, "Don't get cocky, brat. I know far more than you do and will."
Deidara stared back at the hazel eyes and asked, "Is that a challenge?"
"No. I was only stating a fact." Sasori turned around quickly when he realized he had gotten carried away while talking with the blonde, even if the conversation was only a few minutes long. It sort of worried him. He had never gotten carried away by anyone. Not even a little. He was always careful and precise, but this time, he messed up, and honestly, it irked him in the wrong way, just like the irritating car that was in his parking spot did.
The redhead continued to explore the blonde's computer and asked, "What program do you use the most?"
Deidara looked up at Sasori and pointed to the app logo colored purple and shaped like an infinity sign. "This is my favorite one because it is the least complicated to use."
The redhead nodded and slid the computer to the blonde, "What have you made before?"
Deidara blushed and turned to the side a bit, "I-I have only m-made a-art... that was f-for the school projects… I have never actually done anything that has been used in a r-real company… un."
The redhead gaped, in his mind, and asked, "Have you done anything in the area of this job?" The blonde reddened some more and shook his head slowly. "Have you done anything that wasn't assigned to you, like for fun?" He continued to shake his head and Sasori sighed, this time out loud.
He thought about it, and thought about it, and realized what the boss had meant. He had to teach the blonde almost everything from scratch. Finding one little hint of hope, he asked, "H-Have you ever had a job before?"
He hoped for a 'yes', and the answer was, "No, un!" Deidara's cheeks were puffed out and his arms were crossed. Realizing he yelled it angrily, he sighed and said, "No, un."
Sasori shook his head gently and said, "It's alright. I just figured the boss wouldn't make it too complicated…"
Deidara looked down and said, "S-Sorry…" His face tinted pink and he looked as if he was about to cry, and Sasori noticed.
'Seriously?' He thought and began to freak out. This would be more of a pain than he thought. He thought quickly what to say, and he said, "Don't cry, you baby." And Deidara turned redder and started sobbing. Sasori thought of what he just said and realized it might have been wrong. "U-Umm… I-It's alright, you'll be fine…" Deidara didn't stop. "I'll work something out…?" Deidara didn't stop, but it did sound like he was getting better, or so Sasori thought. "You will learn easily…?" The sobs didn't stop. "I give up. I don't know what to say. I'm not a people person, and me spurting random things won't help."
Deidara looked up, and Sasori was shocked. The blonde was smirking, and he burst out laughing. "AHAHAHA! Y-You fell for it! Oh my gosh, that was hilarious, un."
'What?' Sasori looked dumbfounded, and Deidara was laughing so hard, the redhead thought everyone outside the room was staring at his desk area suspiciously, because those types of sounds would never have been heard anywhere around him.
"I-I'm so sorry… It was funny though… un..." Deidara looked up and shivers ran through his body as his eyes met the redhead's intense glare.
The redhead wouldn't stop glaring at the blonde for at least fifteen minutes, and it really made the blonde a bit uncomfortable. He murmured, "I'm sowwy'n..."
Sasori rolled his eyes and sat down again. He looked at the opposite wall, hiding the blush of embarrassment crawling onto his face from the other. The redhead had never been swayed by anyone before, and this time he was, and the cause was just an act. He fell for it and it was only an act. He felt ridiculous. There was a moment of silence and the redhead sighed, again. "In any case, I'd better teach you the basics of how to work at a job, and how to work at this job." Deidara nodded and followed his directions.
~...~
The whole day went by, and Sasori was exhausted. Teaching someone was harder than he thought, especially when they know almost nothing and are, clearly, a bad learner. He had to explain everything at least three times for the blonde to actually get it, and even then, it would still be blurry for him. The worst part was that the blonde took so long to think, he had to wait. WAIT. He hates waiting.
Deidara sat on the floor, leaning against the wall, and sighed. Sasori sat in his chair, leaning against the backrest, and he sighed as well.
"It's already seven, and I have never stayed here this late. You're such a brat." Sasori rolled his eyes and began to stand up. Deidara looked at him questioningly and the redhead grabbed his bag, and put many things into it, including his computer. "I'm going home."
Deidara nodded and grabbed his own laptop from the desk before sliding it into his bag. He followed Sasori's hands as they glided across the desktop. The blonde unconsciously licked his lips. He blushed when he realized his actions and shook his head slightly.
The redhead saw Deidara shake from the corner of his eyes and he rolled them. Whatever the blonde was thinking, it wasn't going to be easy for Sasori to understand. Not that he wanted to.
Sasori finished putting his last few things in his bag and grabbed the handle. He walked out of the room and when he saw a large group of people staring wondrously at his room in a big crowd, he gave a death glare, and everyone dispersed. They didn't go too far, as they were determined to find out who could penetrate the redhead's aura.
The redhead waited for the blonde to leave the room so he could lock it. Everyone stared intently at the young blonde with the goofy smile and tight emo clothes as the redhead put his key in the handle. He could hear people whispering to themselves about the pair. They were talking about how the redhead was still here even though it was already seven, and how there was another being with him. They thought it was a miracle.
"Let's go." Sasori said, in an annoyed voice, and there were gasps. He said something in their presence when he didn't have to.
The blonde glanced in his direction and nodded, "Ok, un." The redhead rolled his eyes and continued walking, ignoring all the uncomfortable stares he was receiving from the workers. Deidara was walking right next to him, too close for comfort, and it was really bothering him.
When the pair reached the parking lot, Sasori stopped and said, "This is, obviously, the parking lot. You should've left a while ago, but now it isn't so full. Usually when you leave, it's full of cars rushing to leave." Sasori looked at the blonde, and said, "This is where we part." At the end of the sentence, he muttered a 'thankfully' to himself.
A sad look filled Deidara's face, and he asked, "C-can we stay a little longer?"
Sasori crossed his arms and fiercely said, "NO!" and continued walking towards his car. Deidara sighed and walked with Sasori.
"I said no. Now go to your own ride." The redhead growled.
Deidara looked up and said, "But my car is over there." Sasori raised an eyebrow and Deidara pointed to a dark silver car, "that's my car."
Sasori followed the finger with his eyes and saw his own car, before realizing he was pointing at the irritating car in his own parking spot. The redhead looked back at the clueless blonde with a glare. "THA-" He was about to yell when he realized there were people around, and he really didn't want to catch any more attention. He sighed and frustratingly, yet calmly, said, "That car is yours?"
Deidara gave a bright smile, "Un!"
Sasori growled slightly, "This parking spot is mine. And your car is in it."
"Eh?" Deidara looked at the parking lot. "There are assigned spots?"
Sasori rolled his eyes and said, "No, but everyone knows that this is my spot."
"Oooh... Sorry... un." Deidara said with his goofy smile.
"Whatever. Just go home already."
The blonde nodded and got into his car while Sasori watched him from the backside of his own car. As soon as the blonde got into his vehicle and closed the door, Sasori went into his own. He waited for the blonde to start backing out of the parking spot to turn his engine on.
Once the blonde left, Sasori backed out of his own spot and left. Although he planned to go to the store after work, he didn't have time for that. He just drove straight home.
As the redhead arrived at his house, he parked in the front, but when he saw his house, he changed his mind. He stepped out of the car and walked to his garage. It opened and he started to walk back to his car when he saw some kids in the middle of the street aiming at the clean, black car. The kids shouted, "STOIC PUPPET!" and threw tomatoes and other things at it, making a huge mess.
Sasori glared at them and they scurried away in different directions. He looked at his defiled car and sighed. Without doing anything about the dirtiness, he got back in his car and pulled into the garage. After he got out of the car, he closed his garage door, and began to do what he did way too often.
He took out a bucket, put a hose with running water in it and took out a scrubby. He began to wash the back of his car until it was clean. After that, he put the materials back and headed inside the house.
It was now nine, and the sun had set long before he finished cleaning his car. He was so exhausted from the day of teaching the dense blonde that he just wanted to fall asleep. He knew he had things to do, but he was so tired. He fell onto his bed and closed his eyes, but then he felt his stomach yell at him.
He groaned, but knew he should eat something because he hadn't the whole day. All he had was a cup of coffee. He sat up and walked over to the kitchen. He looked for something suitable when he remembered he had run out of food. He had to go to the store after all.
The day was completely wrecked for him, and he knew it. It was all because of that blonde. He had to look after him for the next month or so until the boss thinks that Deidara is ready to become a full-fledged worker at the company.
The redhead sighed as he sat in his car in his driveway. He hadn't gotten out of the car yet to open the garage, but he needn't worry about the kids, because they were probably in bed by now. He opened his window and looked at his house. There was red paint aggressively spread across the front saying "stoic puppet" and 'leave' and 'die' and so many other messages expressing society's feelings of the redhead.
"Guess I have to clean that too, huh?" He pulled his car into his garage and put his groceries away before making a sandwich and grabbing his cleaning tools to head to the front of his house. He munched on the food as he tried to scrub the red paint from the wood.
It took him about three and a half hours to clean it all off and reapply white paint to the places where he scrubbed the white as well. It was now one-thirty in the morning and Sasori was dead tired. He wanted to sleep for the entire day, but he knew he couldn't because his boss wouldn't let him. Besides, even if he did, the clueless blonde would be stuck at the company alone and be even more clueless than usual.
He decided to go straight to bed and deal with the next day when it came, and was sure that he would get home and sleep till the next day. He fell on top of his bed and closed his eyes. It took him no time at all to fall asleep.
~...~
Morning came like a train. The redhead was not ready for the day to have come yet. He wanted to sleep for another few hours, but he knew he couldn't. As he did his usual morning routine, he kept on yawning continuously. He was already starting to get annoyed without even seeing the blonde yet. He went to his coffee place and then to work like normal.
Sasori drove into the company's parking lot and was prepared to be able to park in his own parking spot like normal, but the irritating blonde's car was in the way, again. His eyebrow twitched in annoyance, and he parked in the spot next to it like he had to yesterday.
Sasori left his car with his bag and trudged to his building's room with a death glare on his face. He was so pissed, he thought he might actually murder the blonde. When he reached the hallway, the blonde was nowhere to be seen and that made the redhead even more pissed. He took out the key to his room and unlocked the door. Once he entered, he saw a figure with long blonde locks sitting on the floor typing something on his laptop.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Sasori growled as he walked in. His face was dark with his death glare.
The blonde looked up at him and smiled, "The boss gave me a key to your room, so I decided to set my things up early. I remember yesterday that you said you hated to wait, so I figured if I do this, you wouldn't have to wait!"
"You remember that?" Sasori asked with his glare remaining on his face.
"Un!"
"Then why didn't you remember that it is my parking spot you parked in again?"
"Eh-?" Deidara looked away and gave an unsteady laugh, "Ehehehe...?"
"Whatever... If you park there again, I'll be really fucking pissed, so don't do it again." Sasori sighed and sat down at his desk and booted up his computer. "This is going to be a long day..."
"Why's that?" Deidara asked innocently, bringing his index finger to his chin.
Sasori looked at him and sighed, "Because you don't pick up the material very fast, and I have to repeat it so many times for you to even start to understand it."
Deidara looked down and said, "Sorry, un." He looked back up and said, "I've always been a slow learner..."
Sasori sighed and went back to his bag to pull out his things while saying, "It's fine, I'm just not very patient sometimes." There was a long pause of silence as the redhead got ready, and Sasori finally said, "Shall we start, then?" Deidara nodded.
The blonde stood and walked over to the redhead. The redhead noticed his clothing choice today as well. He had a tight, light purple long sleeve shirt one with light grey ripped jeans with black and white high top Converse. His hair was in a full pony today, still with his fringe down, and his eye makeup was just as intense as it was yesterday. This time, however, he was only wearing a soft gloss on his lips.
"Your clothes aren't as emo today," Sasori commented. The blonde looked down at himself and smiled.
Most of the day passed with Sasori trying to teach Deidara about the coding their company, Akatsuki Inc., uses. Sasori was getting really annoyed at how long it took for the blonde to understand just the first step.
"So, the zero goes... here?" Deidara asked as he typed a zero in the spot he wanted on his computer.
"No, it goes here." Sasori deleted the zero and typed a zero three spaces over with his own computer. "The zero you just put says something completely different..."
Deidara sighed loudly, "Ughh, this is so complicated, un!"
"You still have to learn it, so quit being such a brat," Sasori said rudely. "Come here." The redhead motioned the blonde over to the other side of his desk. He took out some papers from a cabinet and set them on his desk. Deidara walked over to that side. He looked at the papers and became even more confused. He looked at the redhead with confusion. "Don't look at the entire picture, look at the little bits." Sasori said.
He put his finger on a box in the top corner of the paper. "This is for the basic formulas, so this is the most important. If you look at the pattern, you can see." Sasori looked up at Deidara, only to find he was zoning out again. "You little brat. This is why you aren't learning anything."
The redhead lifted his finger and flicked the blonde's cheek. "Ow!" He said, lifting his hand to cover his cheek, "What was that for?"
"Because you weren't paying attention," Sasori growled. "This is why you aren't learning anything."
"..."
Sasori looked back at the blonde, who was looking away and his cheeks were flushed.
"Do you have a fever or something?"
Sasori raised his hand to check the blonde's forehead, but Deidara stepped back and said, "I-I'm fine!" Deidara stepped back another time, and Sasori stood up.
"If you're not feeling well, then you shouldn't be here. I can't afford to get sick." Sasori stepped towards the blonde, and he stepped back once again, but tripped over his own feet and fell to the ground clumsily.
Sasori kneeled down to the blonde and gently placed his hand on the other's forehead. Deidara turned even redder than before and he couldn't do anything about it. "You're not very warm, but there must be a reason for your face being this red suddenly."
Deidara took Sasori's hand off his forehead and looked away, "It's nothing..."
Sasori looked at him confused. "Do you know why?"
Deidara said, "It's stupid..."
"It's not stupid if you're being physically affected because of it." Sasori leaned in closer and said, "What is it?"
Deidara blushed at the closeness and he turned his head away some more, "I said it's nothing. It's stupid... un."
Sasori, annoyed at all the indirectness, put his hand on the other's chin and forced the blonde to look at him. "Do you just want to go home? Tell me what it is."
Deidara tried moving his head away, but he couldn't, so he just averted his eyes as much as he could. His bangs fell over his left eye, and his face was redder than a cherry.
The two's faces were very close, and Deidara, being a fresh 20's, couldn't help but let his mind drift to some thoughts that he shouldn't be thinking at the moment. "I really mean it. It's nothing."
Sasori developed a hypothesis that explains the red face, and decided to test it out. He moved his mouth closer to the other's, keeping eye contact with the sky blue orbs. Their mouths were only centimeters apart, and Deidara could feel the gentle breath of the redhead as it ghosted over his face. Deidara closed his eyes tightly, to free himself from the embarrassment, but his face was still a deep red.
At that moment, the door opened, and the boss came in, "Sasori, how is it go-" What he saw was Sasori on top of Deidara, and to him it looked like they were kissing. There was silence as the pair looked at the orange-head.
Before the boss could say anything, Sasori stood up and said, "Pein, th-this isn't what it looks like."
The boss turned around and left the room saying, "Sasori, may I speak to you for a minute?" Sasori sighed and left the room without looking at the red-faced blonde. There was silence as the two stood outside the room with many people crowding around wondering if the perfectionist made a mistake. "Everyone, please go back to your respective jobs."
The crowd dispersed, and the two were left alone to talk. Pein spoke, "Sasori, I asked you to teach Deidara about our company, did I not?" The redhead nodded, and tried to explain himself, but Pein was too fast, "Then why were you teaching him about other things that involve the bed and nighttime?"
There was a straggler from the crowd who walked by, and she overheard the conversation, but Pein didn't care; he let her be. Sasori, on the other hand, gave her a glare, and she scurried away quickly. "It's not what it looked like."
"Then why were you on top of him, kissing him?"
Sasori sighed and began to explain. "I was trying to teach him about our coding system, but he wasn't paying attention, so I flicked his cheek, and he finally acknowledged that he heard me. Then his face turned red, so I thought he had a fever. I tried to feel his forehead, but he kept on backing away, and he fell down, so I took the chance to check his temperature, and he was just a little warm, so I asked him if he knew why his face was flushed. He said it was stupid, so I tried to think of reasons why he was all red..."
Pein looked at the redhead as he quietly told the story, and interrupted, "He likes you," with a smirk.
"Hah?" Sasori looked at him with wide eyes.
"He likes you." The orange-headed man repeated, with a smirk, again. He looked straight at the redhead's hazel eyes and said, "I never knew this would happen, especially not to you, but I guess you are in luck."
"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Sasori asked with a glare on his face.
"Well, with your reputation, I doubt you would have been able to get into a relationship, so the fact that he likes you means you have a chance," Pein said.
"Doesn't mean I like that brat," Sasori muttered.
"Well, continue with the story."
"Umm... Well, I came to the conclusion that he was gay, so I decided to test it out, 'cause he was obviously not going to tell me. So, I made him think that I was going to kiss him, and well, you came in. I wasn't actually going to though." Sasori whispered even quieter.
"Not yet," Pein said.
"Like I said, what the hell is that supposed to mean?"
Pein put a hand on the redhead's shoulder. "Think about it. This Deidara managed to get you to talk to him, show him things, have patience with him, care about whether he is sick or not instead of focusing on teaching him to get rid of him, and he even got you to almost kiss him. That takes a special person to be able to do that to you." And with that, Pein left with a nod, only to leave the redhead all alone to think to himself.
The redhead didn't stay there for long, because there was a crowd gathering again, spreading rumors about Sasori and the new blonde. He rolled his eyes and returned to his office.
When he entered the room, he saw the blonde putting his computer in his bag. "What are you doing?" He said, harshly.
The blonde looked at Sasori with swollen red eyes. "I'm going home."
"You can't leave until I say you can." Sasori crossed his arms and stood in front of the only door to the room.
Deidara closed his bag and put it on, then stood up. He wiped his face gently with his sleeve, and turned around to face the redhead. "You can't force me to do anything."
Sasori said, "I am not letting you out until it is time."
"And when is that time?" Another tear fell down the blonde's face, "Are you going to tease me for liking you again?" Deidara shouted at him, tears freely rolling down his face.
He ran to the door that Sasori wasn't guarding very well, and left quickly.
Sasori watched him run while rubbing his face, and the door closed. Sasori leaned against the door and slid down it slowly. "It's not like that..." He whispered to himself. He pulled his knees up, wrapped his arms around them, and rested his head in the crevice of his legs.
It was late when Sasori went home, and he was even more exhausted than he was the day before. He got home and went straight to bed, not paying attention to anything.
~...~
As the morning sun shone in the redhead's eyes after being awoken by his alarm, Sasori got up, still exhausted, and still tired. He was not ready for the day, again.
He thought that Deidara wasn't going to be there because of yesterday, and he was happy when that thought crossed his mind. But, deep down, there was a part of him that was actually disappointed at the thought. Of course he ignored it because he thinks of the blonde as an annoyance, but the feeling was still there.
Like any other day, Sasori did his morning routine, and got to work at the same time as always. He was ready to park in the wrong spot like the last two days, because the dense blonde brat probably forgot again. But he wasn't there. The intruding car wasn't there, and the redhead's mind went back to the thought of the blonde not being there. Still, he parked in the wrong spot, somewhere hoping that the blonde was just running late. After all, he really doesn't need to be there for another half an hour. The redhead yawned as he got out of his car, and went to his office, expecting an easy day.
Oh, he could be more wrong. There the blonde was, in his office setting his things up like yesterday. When he noticed Sasori enter, he stood up quickly and turned to face the redhead. His face turned red and he said, "I'm s-sorry about yesterday, un!" He bowed his head and wouldn't move from that spot.
Sasori walked by him and set his bag down on his desk. He looked back at the blonde and he was still bowing his head. "... I apologize for acting like that, as well." Sasori said, trying to be as quiet as he could without being too quiet for the blonde to hear.
Deidara lifted his head, and had a bright smile on his face. The two started their day with a happy vibe.
It doesn't stay that way, however, as Deidara is still a bad learner.
"Arghh, I just said it goes right here. Here." Sasori pointed to the screen, and Deidara gave a growl of annoyance.
"This isn't very artistic..." He whined.
"Well, you have to learn it if you want to get hired for this company." Sasori said.
Many hours passed with the tension growing, and Sasori had almost had it. There were only two hours left until the workday was over.
Deidara had relearned the basics of the coding, finally, and Sasori instructed him to write a basic code for a simple page. There were fifteen minutes of silence, and Sasori spoke up, "Are you done yet?"
He waited for an answer, but there was none. He turned around and looked at the blonde, whose eyes were closed. He was breathing in softly and then back out. His chest moved with the rhythm of his breathing and he looked so peaceful. "You little brat, falling asleep on me." He stood up and walked over to the sleeping figure and sighed. He poked the cheek he flicked the day before, but there was no response. He gently picked up the computer that laid in his crossed legs, and set it to the side. He looked at the screen to see the blonde's progress, and was quite impressed. Not only had he completed the task given to him, but it was quite fancy. The brat did learn, finally. But the brat fell asleep, so Sasori was pretty mad. "Well, good job on completing this task."
Sasori saved the work, and closed the laptop, before putting it in the blonde's bag. He packed his things and sighed. "What to do... Should I keep him here until he wakes up...? But he may not wake up until late at night... I guess I should take him home... I mean, tomorrow is also a workday..." The redhead muttered to himself as he subconsciously walked up to the blonde and stroked the pale cheek.
He slung the bags over his shoulder and picked up the blonde. He left the room, and realized he had to lock the door. Since he was carrying Deidara in both arms, he couldn't exactly lock it. He had to set the blonde down and lock it, and he was hurrying, so as not to be seen by anyone.
It was the slow part of the day, so almost everyone was in their rooms working on their different projects. Which meant that there would be almost no one to see Sasori carrying Deidara bridal style.
He took the blonde to his car, and lucky for him, there was only one person who saw the two, and he didn't seem to realize anything. It took him at least five minutes to get Deidara buckled in the back seat, and he was running out of patience.
He arrived at his house, only to find it graffitied on again. At this point, he didn't care. All he cared about was getting the blonde inside. As he carried Deidara inside, he was having all sorts of troubles, but he eventually made it to his bed and set the sleeping figure down.
Although Sasori got a normal amount of sleep last night, he was still exhausted. The blonde seems to bring a cloud of exhaustion whenever he is near Sasori. He trudged to the kitchen, brought back a glass of water, and set it on the table next to the blonde.
Sasori thought about the day the two just had, and realized how much he was caring for the blonde. He could have just shook him to wake him up, but instead let him sleep peacefully. He thought about what his boss said the day before and realized he was right; he did care for the blonde like no one else before. His eyelids felt heavy like lead, and he couldn't help but fall asleep against the bed near the blonde.
The blonde woke up to see the ceiling of a dim room that he was not familiar with. "Did I fall asleep?" He asked himself. His eyes soon adjusted to the dimness, and he looked around to see a figure laying on their arms on the bed. When he realized it was Sasori, a smile crept on his face and he couldn't help but sit up and reach out his hand toward him. He rested his hand on the red hair, and smiled. "He's so cute, un."
At that moment Sasori let out a short sound and he raised his head. Deidara retracted his hand immediately, and Sasori blinked a few times and made another noise. As Sasori got used to the lighting in the room, he saw Deidara was awake with a surprised face. "...Dei...?"
The blonde blushed at the use of his real name instead of brat. Sasori remembered his thoughts before he fell asleep, and decided to do something he would have never done before. He stood up and leaned over to the blonde. He put one knee on the bed and leaned in further. "Dei..." he said in a gentle voice.
"Un...?" Deidara watched as the redhead got closer and closer to him, and he continued to blush. Sasori lifted his hand and put it on the back of Deidara's head as he pressed his lips against those of the blonde's.
It was a soft kiss and didn't last very long. The two blushed at the occurrence, and Deidara was expecting it to end there, but Sasori placed another kiss, this time entering his tongue into the unfamiliar cavern. He explored the wet mouth, enjoying the moans he received from Deidara.
The redhead continued the kiss and explored the younger's body with his free hands. He slid his hand up the boy's shirt and with his other hand, slowly pushed the blonde to lay down. He crawled on top of the blonde. He broke the kiss and a trail of saliva connected the two mouths, and Deidara was as red as a cherry.
The redhead placed soft kisses down the blonde's cheek and down the neck. With his hand, he moved his fingers diligently to the nipple. He pinched the hard nipple with his fingers, and Deidara let out a moan that was music to Sasori's ears. The redhead sat up, removed his fingers, and took the blonde's shirt off. He leaned down again and placed more kisses down his neck and to his chest. When he reached the other nipple, he stuck out his tongue and licked it. Deidara let out another sound, and Sasori smirked. He nibbled on the hard nipple while his hand played with the other.
After playing with the nipples, Sasori moved back up to the blonde's face. He smiled gently and placed a kiss on the boy's forehead. "...S-Sasori...?"
The redhead pressed his lips against the blonde once again. Once he left the boy's lips, he said softly, "You're adorable." After those words were said, he laid down on the bed next to but half on top of the blonde and fell asleep once again, this time in a sorta comfortable position.
Deidara watched his gentle face and realized he couldn't go to sleep like this. He waited a few minutes and then wriggled from the redhead's grasp carefully and wandered around the unfamiliar house until he found a bathroom. There, he relieved himself from his hard erection, while thinking about Sasori, and found his way back to the bedroom.
Sasori woke up earlier than usual. He felt warmth beside him, and when he looked, he saw the shirtless blonde. He did not forget what happened the night before, and only regret the fact that they just met a few days ago, and that Deidara was only 21. He got out of bed and took a shower. Once that was over, he got dressed and walked to the kitchen to make breakfast for the two, which he was not used to doing, but he at least knew how to cook a decent one.
Deidara awoke to the smell of food cooking and trudged over to the kitchen. When he saw Sasori, he blushed because of what happened last night, but mustered the courage to walk in.
Sasori noticed the blonde slowly enter the kitchen and he said, "Go take a shower, and when you're done, breakfast should be ready. If you take a left down the hall over there, you should reach the bathroom. Feel free to use the soaps. I also bought you a toothbrush this morning when I went to the store."
Deidara kept his head down as Sasori spoke, and nodded when he was done talking. He followed the directions and found the same bathroom he used last night.
Once Deidara got out of the shower, he noticed a set of clothing on the counter. He realized the redhead had come in during his time washing, and he didn't notice. He blushed as he wondered if the redhead saw anything. After he dried and dressed, he realized he had no real makeup with him, only some small things for touch-ups. He began to freak out, seeing as this would be the first time Sasori would see him without his makeup on.
He sighed and left the bathroom to find his bag. He entered the kitchen where Sasori was to ask, when he saw a table with two plates of food and Sasori cleaning up in the kitchen.
"Come and eat." The redhead said as he walked over to the table. He looked up at the blonde and let out a small laugh, "Wow. You look different without your usual heavy makeup. And those clothes, they really don't feel like 'you'."
Deidara frowned and agreed with him. "I don't think I've worn something like this since I was like twelve, un." He was wearing a plain red t-shirt and loose black sweatpants. He walked in the dining room, completely forgetting about his makeup. He took a seat across from where the redhead was sitting and looked at the table.
The table was small and round. They were close enough that their legs could have been touching if they were both pushed in all the way.
Deidara spoke up and asked shyly, "So, umm… is it a good different without my makeup?"
Sasori looked at him and rolled his eyes and said, "Th-This is an apology breakfast... for l-last night..." He was looking at his plate with a blush on his face.
Deidara blushed as well and when he spoke, his voice was only slightly above a whisper, "Th-there is nothing to apologize for, un."
Sasori shook his head and explained, "I shouldn't have done that. It was wrong for me to."
"But I-"
"We only met a few days ago. Besides, you're still too young, I shouldn't have done that to you."
Deidara stood up and loudly said, "I liked it, so what's the problem?"
Sasori's eyes widened and he blushed. "Still, I sho-"
Sasori's words were cut off by the lips of the blonde.
Deidara had leaned over the table toward Sasori, and put both hands on either side of the redhead's face. The kiss was long and passionate, both getting carried away.
Sasori deepened the kiss and he tasted the sweetness of Deidara's mouth. His hands began adventuring around the stomach until he found the bottom hem of the shirt and slid his hand in.
The redhead realized what they were doing and immediately stopped. He gently pushed the blonde away with a breath and said, "We should not be doing this."
Deidara puffed his cheeks out and Sasori said, "Eat, then we have to go to work."
The blonde sat back in his chair with a blush and puffed out cheeks and began to eat. The redhead smirked and ate as well.
The two got in Sasori's car, and he put the car in reverse. Once he had backed out of the garage, Deidara shouted, which spooked Sasori. "What!?" He asked.
Deidara pointed to the front of the redhead's house where red and black paint covered the wood. Sasori looked at it and returned to driving. Deidara looked at Sasori, who was focused on backing up and, hopefully, not trying to hit any kids. After they were on the road, Deidara questioned it again.
"It's none of your business." Sasori replied simply. Deidara frowned but left it alone after seeing the sadness behind the redhead's eyes.
He drove to his usual coffee place. They entered the store and everyone in line made a path for Sasori like always. The redhead started walking forward, but the blonde pulled his sleeve back. "What are you doing, brat?"
The blonde puffed his cheeks at his name being changed back to brat again and whispered, "You can't cut in line. It's rude."
Sasori shrugged and asked, "What's the problem? Everyone moved out of the way so we can go up there."
Deidara replied with, "Why did they move anyway? They have a right to be there."
"This is why you are a brat." The redhead said quietly.
Deidara looked at Sasori, and saw him looking slightly down with a blank face, even though he always had a glare before. Sasori took a step forward and the blonde pulled his sleeve again. "No. We're going to wait in line like everyone else."
The redhead rolled his eyes, but waited anyway.
Everyone in line stood uncomfortably as Sasori, the stoic puppet, stood with them. They looked at him with hateful eyes, and Deidara noticed but didn't question at the moment. Once they reached the counter, the usual girl said slowly, "H-Hello, Sasori and f-friend... Th-the drink you usually have is c-cold, so we're remaking it... Umm..." She turned to Deidara, "W-would you like anything?"
Deidara panicked and raised his hands to his chest and waved them back and forth, "I'm fine."
"Brat."
Deidara sighed and looked at Sasori and frowned. Not too long after, the server came out with a drink for Sasori. The redhead took it and paid before leaving. Deidara followed him closely like a puppy. Once they got to Sasori's car, the blonde began to walk over to the passenger side when Sasori spoke up from directly behind him. "If you…"
Deidara jolted up and there was a long pause before the redhead continued. "If you… hang around me too much, they'll look at you the same way."
The blonde turned to face Sasori and said, "What was that anyway? Why do they look at you that way? Why did they try to let you cut them in the line?"
The redhead looked at his feet for a split second before walking to the driver's side of the car. Deidara watched his every movement, trying to figure out the reason behind the glares and the scared server, and why they all moved out of line to let the redhead pass by. He couldn't see through it completely. He couldn't see all the way through the façade the redhead was always wearing. And it annoyed him. He wanted to know more about the redhead. He wanted to know more of the real Sasori. Who the person he accidentally fell in love with was.
The redhead got into the car, ignoring the blonde's questions, so Deidara entered the car as well.
It was a quiet drive to the building the two worked at. The air was tense, and Sasori was focused on the road and nothing else. Deidara watched out his side window and was left to his thoughts. He wanted to think about his work, and how he could be less stressful for Sasori, but his thoughts skipped the work and went straight to Sasori.
The blonde thought about what happened last night and this morning; how the two got carried away with each other, and wondered if Sasori cared for him. All he remembered is that he was a huge pain in the ass for Sasori. He wouldn't pay attention during the whole day when Sasori was going out of his way to teach him, and later fell asleep during the lesson. Then Sasori had to take care of him. No, wait. He didn't have to, he chose to!
"We're here." Sasori said in a monotone voice.
Deidara snapped out of his thoughts and exited the car. He wanted to say something as they were walking, but he never felt like there was a right time because all the other workers were giving looks of disgust towards their direction.
Once they got to Sasori's work room, they both entered without a word. Once Sasori sat down, he let out a loud sigh, and relaxed his body.
"Why?"
The redhead looked at the blonde next to him and asked, "What?"
"Why do they look at you that way?" Deidara looked like he was about to cry.
"Why are you going to cry? It has nothing to do with you." He said rudely.
The blonde let out a squeak and said, "It's not fair."
"What isn't fair? Life? People? My attitude? This job? My reputation? This world?" The redhead spun in his chair a little and said, "It's all unfair."
"Sasori is a good person. They don't have a right to look at you like that, un." The blonde said.
The redhead choked, "I'm a good person? Hahaha! Exactly how am I a good person? You've only known me for a few days. So tell me. How am I a good person?"
"You've been kind to me. You're teaching me things. You were insistent to check if I had a fever the other day. You let me sleep instead of waking me up, and brought me to your house. And you even made me breakfast this morning." The blonde said.
"You forgot the part where I am constantly rude to you, and I get annoyed easily." Then he spun to face the blonde. "Oh, yeah. I also molested you. Twice. And kidnapped you, by the way."
"You're wrong!" The blonde shouted. "You never did! You never…" He blushed and said quieter, "It never happened, un." The blonde dropped his bag gently next to the desk and walked toward the sitting redhead. "Sasori, I really like you a lot."
Sasori frowned and asked harshly, "What do you know about me? What reason do you have for 'liking' me? Why?"
The blonde said softly, "Does love need a reason? … I can't explain it either, but I do know that I get a weird jittery feeling when I'm around you. And whenever I think about you, I go crazy, and when I know I'm going to see you, I get excited and I get butterflies in my stomach. How can you explain that other than the feelings of attachment? I… I really like you, Sasori, un!"
The redhead blushed at the semi-long speech and smiled gently. He stood up and took a step toward the blonde. He placed a soft kiss on the blonde's cheek and pulled him into an embrace. "Thank you."
There was a knock on the door, and Sasori rolled his eyes. He walked over to the door and said, "Get out your laptop. You fell asleep yesterday before I could give you any feedback on the page."
The blonde nodded and pulled out his computer as Sasori opened the door. Pein was standing there with a frown on his face. "Sasori, I need to talk to you for a minute."
The redhead looked behind him and made eye contact with Deidara before leaving the room. The boss began to walk down the hallway and Sasori followed him all the way to his office.
"So, what do you need?" The redhead asked.
"Yesterday, I got a call from Deidara's family, asking where he was. I told him that he was working with you, but when I came to your room, the both of you were gone."
"He fell asleep yesterday when I was teaching him, so I brought him to my house. That's all."
Pein sighed, "They also said that if they can't contact him by this morning, then they will remove him from this company, and try somewhere else."
"Did they already call?"
"…" The boss looked at the redhead in deep thought. "Fortunately no."
Sasori let out a breath and said, "So why did I have to come here all alone?"
"Because that's not the only thing I wanted to talk about."
"Hm?"
"I've been hearing my workers spreading rumors about the two of you."
"Like what rumors? It's not like rumors haven't been spread about me before."
Pein stood up and looked out the window. It was a cloudy day, and it looked like it was going to rain. "Yes, well… These rumors are a little different. They don't only affect you, but they also affect Deidara as well."
"How so?"
"… Well…" Pein turned to face Sasori and said, "One of the main rumors is that you are sexually taking advantage of the naivety of the blonde."
"False. And how does that affect the brat as well?" Sasori shrugged. "In fact, he's the one taking advantage of me… although not sexually..."
"No… It seems more like you are letting him take advantage of you." The boss gave a chuckle and the glare he received. "Anyway, it seems those rumors have reached the ears of Deidara's family as well. And they asked me to keep him away from you."
The redhead kept a steady face towards the orange haired man. "And? Is that all you wanted to say? If so, then hurry and get the brat out of my room. I'd love to have that nuisance out of my life so I can focus on my work."
The boss smirked and said, "I know that's not how you really feel… If I really do remove him from your life, you will end up spiraling downward and end up crashing."
"I met him a few days ago. How is he going to change my life so dramatically by leaving?"
"Because he came into your life without your permission, and he's messed with your schedule. You used to do everything the same, at the same time, but now it's all messed up because of him… If he's gone from your life, then you will go back to doing everything the same, and sooner or later, you will end up missing the distraction. The nuisance. The naivety. The adorableness. And everything that came with it. Everything that came with him."
Sasori turned around with a shrug. "I doubt it. If it happens, then it happens. In that case, it's none of your business."
"You're right." The boss said. "It's none of my business. But that doesn't mean I don't care. That doesn't mean I don't want you to be happy."
The redhead rolled his eyes. He knew, however, that he was happy to actually have a friend that cares.
He started to walk out when the telephone rang. "Is that the brat's family?" Sasori asked, curious.
Pein picked up the phone and then nodded. He waved his hand towards the redhead, and Sasori understood. He left the room and went back to his own.
"Hey, brat." He said as he walked in.
Deidara jumped in fright before turning around slowly. "W-what…?"
"Go to the boss's office."
"Why?"
"And you should bring all your stuff with you."
"Why?"
"Because you are probably not coming back."
"What!? Why?"
"You know my reputation. People spread rumors. And because of those rumors, we can't be near each other anymore. Not that I care."
"Who said so?"
Sasori looked away and said, "… There was this rumor… and it said that I was taking advantage of you. And it reached your parents. And they want me to stay away from you."
"My parents?"
"That's what I said."
Deidara looked down with a sad face. "That's not fair."
"Is everything not fair to you?"
"I finally find someone I truly love, and my parents decide to care NOW?" Deidara fell to his knees and began to cry.
Sasori sighed. "If you want to cry, do it later. Right now, just go to the boss' room."
Deidara rubbed his face with his sleeve gently, nodded slowly, and left the room quickly.
Sasori began to turn around in his chair when he saw the brat's bag. "Ughh, I told him to take his stuff."
He shook his head and sighed.
"Yes, here he is now." Pein handed the phone to the blonde who just entered the room. He then stepped out of the room to leave Deidara to himself.
"Hello…?"
""WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?""
"What do you mean?"
""WHY ARE YOU LETTING YOURSELF BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF BY SOME GUY?""
"I'm not. Anyway, can you just calm down?"
""Fine. So, if you are not being taken advantage of, then what are these rumors that are going around?""
"What rumors?"
""So you don't know?""
"Of course I don't know. This is the first I'm hearing about it."
""Then let me ask you a question.""
"What is it?"
""Have you had sex with anyone yet?""
"Huhh?! What does that have to do with anything?"
""It doesn't. It's just as your mother, I wanted to know.""
"So you randomly changed the subject?"
""Are you going to answer the question or not?""
"I would like to say no, I won't answer, but since it won't change anything, then, no, I have not."
""Good. You are to stay that way. Now, I'd like to talk about your new job. I recall your boss saying that you were going to be trained under someone until you understand the basics of their company. May I ask who he is?""
"Sasori?"
""Is he the one who has been 'teaching' you?""
"Yeah."
"May I hear about him?"
"… Well, he has short red hair. And he glares a lot. And no one really likes him. Everyone sort of gives bad looks towards him. But he's actually a really good guy. He teaches really well, and I've already learned a lot of things from him, un."
""I see… Do you like him?""
"Like him? Well, yeah, I guess. He's a really good teacher after all, un."
""Ok, but do you like him, romantically, or even sexually?""
"T-T-That is…. I… w-what is it to you?"
""I'm your mother. Of course I'd be interested in your life.""
"Not really. You've never been particularly interested before, so why should you start now?"
""Better late than never, right?""
"Oh, I get it, un. It's about those rumors, isn't it?"
""Of course not.""
"You're lying, un."
""Ok. I'm lying. Either way, I will not have you be around people who will spread rumors, whether it is true or not.""
"In other words, what are you saying?"
""You're coming home, and we're going to find you another job.""
"What!?" Deidara shouted. "I'm not going there. I'm going to stay here, un."
""YOU WILL DO WHAT I TELL YOU TO AND YOU WILL NOT ARGUE!"" His mother shouted over the phone.
The blonde gritted his teeth, but said okay anyway. She told him she would be there to pick him up in an hour. The blonde knocked on the door and Pein came back into his office. Deidara returned the phone to his boss and said, "I have to leave the company. I know I haven't been here for very long, but it was a fantastic experience, and I'm thankful for it."
Pein pulled the blonde into a gentle hug. He said, "I understand. There is one thing, however. I can't let you go so easily."
"What do you mean?"
"You entered the life of a certain redhead easily but you can't leave easily."
"?"
"I know this is a personal question, and you may not want to answer it, but please be honest with me. Has Sasori touched you… sexually?"
The blonde blushed and nodded slightly.
The boss let out a sigh and said, "That's good, unless you didn't want him to."
Deidara pushed himself out of the hug and said confidently, "I wanted him to, un!" He realized what he said and blushed harder.
The boss smirked, and said, "Sasori is lucky to have someone like you."
"What do you mean?"
"Do you know what people call him?"
"No."
"Well, it's really a story for him to tell, but they call him the stoic puppet."
"Stoic? That's far from the truth. He has a lot of emotions, un." Deidara said with a smile upon his face.
"Exactly. He shows no emotion around people. None. He always has either a glare or no expression at all. Except when he is around you. What kind of emotions does he show?"
Deidara smiled happily as he began to talk about the redhead. "… Hmm, well… he gets angry when I space out sometimes… and when I make silly mistakes, he gives a short chuckle or smiles… We've both burst out laughing at times, un. And one time, I pretended to cry, and he started freaking out, and when I told him it was pretend, he got really mad, un!"
"Sasori gets mad, smiles and even laughs when you're around him? That has got to be a miracle."
"I… I'd better get going. I really don't want to face my mother when she is angry, but it is even worse when she is furious."
Deidara began walking towards the door, and Pein spoke up. "Deidara?"
"Un?"
"I just want to tell you that if you leave for too long, Sasori will break down. You broke his armor and it can't be fixed easily. He won't be able to focus if you are gone for a long time. You will be on his mind 24/7, and he won't be able to do anything about it. He'll refuse if you ask him, but he really does love you."
Deidara's eyes widened and he felt tears gather in his eyes when he opened the door. Before it shut, he said a soft, "Thank you."
Pein sighed. Once the blonde left, he began to talk to himself, "If Deidara didn't have to deal with his parents, and if Sasori was just a little honest with his feelings and not so stubborn, they could have a really happy life."
Deidara walked down the hallway with the last words he heard ringing in his mind. He loves me? he thought. He opened the door to Sasori's room and found the redhead sitting at his desk typing on his computer.
"… S… Sasori…?" The blonde muttered quietly.
The redhead continued typing and wouldn't look up or acknowledge that he heard the blonde, almost as if it was the first time they were together in that room.
"… I'm leaving…" Deidara heard the typing stop for a split second before continuing. "My mother is going to pick me up at the front in 45 minutes… and… and I'm not coming back."
The redhead continued to type, but Deidara knew he was listening. "She said she'll find a new job for me in this field so the knowledge won't go to waste… I… Your teaching was fantastic. I learned a lot from you these past weeks, and I wanted to thank you…"
Sasori finally stopped typing and turned in his chair. "Do you have to listen to your parents?"
"Well, they are my parents after all."
"You are an adult. You are 21, so you are able to make your own decisions. I don't see why you have to leave because your mother says so."
Deidara thought about those words and asked, "Is this your way of telling me you don't want me to go?" He had a happy blush on his face.
The redhead's cheeks flushed a deep red and he coughed to clear his throat. "N-No, I'm just saying that you don't have to listen to your parents now that you are an adult. If you don't want to go, then stand up to your parents and tell them you don't want to go."
Deidara rushed over to the redhead and leaned down to pull him into a warm hug. Hot tears spilled down his face and he felt so happy. "Thank you… thank you… thank you…"
The redhead smiled and wrapped his arms around the arms of the blonde. Deidara continued to cry on his shoulder for a bit before calming down. He looked at the clock and lifted his head. Sasori quickly let go of the arms and Deidara said, "I should probably hurry. Considering it's my mother, she might show up here early."
There was silence as the blonde packed his things into his bag. He left without another word.
Sasori watched the door shut and sighed. "What a brat." He turned in his chair and looked at his pile of papers. Suddenly his face felt hot and a major headache came over him. He let his head fall to the desk and let out a long sigh before closing his eyes, trying to fall in a deep sleep.
There wasn't much time for him to fall asleep before there was a knocking on his door. He tried to ignore it, but it was constant and wouldn't let him ignore it. He grumbled to the door and opened it quickly with a fierce glare and asked bitterly, "What do you want?"
~…~
Deidara sighed as he walked down the hallway of the building. Memories of the past few days filled his mind and he smiled to himself. He remembered when he got Sasori to panic the first time. That might have been the first time that he started to feel for the redhead. He remembered the first time Sasori got in his face to check for his temperature, and then he was close to kissing him. Slowly, Deidara walked to the front doors of the company. He recalled the feeling of Sasori's warm hands on his chest and nipples, and the sexy face the redhead made when he moved from sucking on his nipple to kiss him. The blonde shook his head - it would not be good to get a boner on his way to see his mom.
He suddenly became worried. He heard Sasori's words echo in his mind, and he thought to himself whether he should really stand up to his parents.
He got to the doors of the building and slowly walked out. He looked back for emotional effect when he saw himself in the mirror. He looked like a mess. His eyes were pink and slightly puffy, and his clothes looked like something a hobo would wear. His hair was messily put up in a pony as well. The worst part of his look; however, was his makeup. He hardly had any eyeliner on and, other than his clear chapstick, that's all the makeup he had on. He cursed himself for not putting enough makeup in his bag.
He quickly looked around for his mother's car, but it wasn't there. He started fixing his hair and then he reapplied some eyeliner to his eyes to make it look more like his normal look, but no matter how much he looked at himself, he did not look like what he did when he came a few days ago.
After he fixed his looks, he decided to sit down on a nearby bench and wait. He looked at his watch, and it was still thirty-five minutes away from the promised hour. He let out a yawn and slowly drifted into a sleep of memories with Sasori.
A loud honk woke him up from his light slumber and he looked in front of him. His mom was parked on the side of the road, waiting for him to get into the car. His dad was in the passenger side of the car, also waiting.
Deidara began to walk over to the car. He took a last look at the building he 'worked' at for the past few days and sighed before turning back around to the car. As he got closer, his mom slid down her glasses to look at him. "What the fuck are you wearing?!"
Deidara took another look at his clothes and laughed sheepishly. "I, um, am borrowing them, un." Deidara realized that if he never saw Sasori again, then he couldn't return the clothes.
"Whatever. Just hurry up and get into the car. I can't stand to look at this place for much longer." Her voice was laced with disgust, "I can't believe I saw promise in this place."
Deidara took a step, but hesitated to move closer anymore. Sasori's harsh words rang in his head again, and he took a big breath. "Mom, Dad, I have something really important to tell you both, un."
The parents looked at him and his father spoke, "Can't it wait until you get into the car?"
Deidara's eyes flickered to look at his father for a second, and then they returned to the ground where he decided to look. "N-No… No, it can't. Because I'm not getting into the car with you, un."
"What!?" They said in unison. His mother spoke, "Excuse me, son, but you are my child and you will listen to and do what I say."
"No!" Deidara said firmly. The two were taken aback by their son raising his voice to them. "I… I am going to stay here at this company because I wish it. I am an adult now, and neither of you can make me do anything anymore."
They were silent, listening to what he had to say.
"I have met a really good person. He has been really nice and kind to me, and I don't feel threatened by him, and I feel comfortable working for him. He is my boss, and I really appreciate all that he has done for me. He is so kind."
Deidara continued, "There is also one other person that I met, and although he has been really rude to me, I… he acts that way to everyone, so I didn't take it too personal. But, slowly, as he taught me how to do things that I had no clue about before, he began to open up. Sure, he was still rude to me all the time, he was still really kind and nice at times. Whenever I am around him, I feel these things that I have never felt around anyone else. And whenever he does something that I find cute, I always feel these butterflies in my stomach, and I recently realized that I… I feel something special toward him." Deidara suddenly looked at his parents in the eyes, "I love him, and I will not leave this company just because you believe in some stupid rumors that started out of nowhere!"
His parents were utterly shocked as they looked at their son who had changed so much in the past few days since they had last seen him. "Is this person you are talking about the Sasori in the rumors?" His mom asked. Deidara nodded a firm 'yes', and they asked, "How does he feel about you?"
Deidara looked down and said, "I don't know."
His parents gave a laugh, "You are willing to risk ruining your relationship with your parents for some guy that you don't even know if he likes you back?"
Deidara gave them a firm look and said, "Yes, un!"
His parents sighed and his dad said, "You should ask him yourself how he feels. We will wait."
Deidara gave a confused look and his dad pointed next to him. Deidara followed the finger with his eyes to see Sasori leaning against a light pole, listening to the whole conversation. Deidara let out a loud cry, "Aaahhh!" His face turned a chili red and he began to stutter, "S-Sasori, h-how long have you been th-there!?"
Sasori smirked at him and left the pole. He walked up to the slightly taller blonde and said, "For long enough." He reached down to Deidara's hand and grabbed it gently. He entwined his fingers with the blonde's and whispered in Deidara's ear, "Pein came to talk to me after you left." The blonde swallowed the saliva that had accumulated in his throat and listened, "He told me some things that I wish I would have never heard. But I listened anyway. Do you want to know what he said?"
Deidara nodded instantly.
"He told me what I already knew. He told me about how different I have been, ever since you got here. He made me realize the feelings I have inside me…" Sasori scooted back from the ear and looked at Deidara's face. He used his free hand to gently move Deidara's fringe away from his eye.
"A… And, what are they?" Deidara asked, hoping he already knew the answer. He still wanted to hear it from the redhead's mouth, no matter what the answer was.
Sasori moved in close, as if he were going to kiss the blonde, but returned to the ear. He gave it a small nibble before whispering, "I… I love you, Deidara."
Deidara instantly jumped on top of the redhead in happiness and said it in return, "I love you too, Sasori, un!" He placed his lips on the redhead's and the redhead kissed back. It was a few seconds long, and then Sasori moved away, confusing Deidara.
"You still have a conversation to finish with your parents." The redhead said. He set the blonde down.
Deidara walked over to the car and stuck his tongue out childishly. "Like I said. I am staying here, un."
His parents looked at Sasori, who was rubbing his neck with a frown as if he were an old man.
Deidara's dad asked, "How old is he? He's like an old man!"
Deidara looked at Sasori and giggled, "He's thirty-seven, un."
The parents' mouths gaped open. "He's practically double your age!"
Deidara continued to stare at the redhead, "So? He's damn hot. Plus, age doesn't matter to me."
The parents gave Deidara a look, which he didn't see, and then they looked at Sasori who was glaring at Deidara, calling him a brat for jumping on him. They sighed and warned Deidara, "Son." He looked at them, "We will let you stay here. But, we are taking our car back that we lent you, and we will no longer be financing anything you do. You asked to be on your own, so we are letting you do so. And if you regret it soon, which you probably will, you will have to make it up to us before you can come back. Just remember that." His father rolled up his window and they drove off.
"Wow. What jerks." Sasori mumbled.
Deidara looked in Sasori's direction and began to laugh sheepishly, "Hahaha… well…. It looks like I don't have a place to stay anymore, and no ride either…"
Sasori walked up to him and flicked his cheek. "Brat. Do you really think you are alone?"
The blonde looked into Sasori's eyes, and gave a smile. Sasori leaned over and kissed him on the cheek he just flicked. "Come on. You still have stuff you need to learn in order to actually attempt to be hired."
Deidara watched as the redhead began to walk back to the building. He smiled to himself and picked up his bag and followed. I was finally able to make a decision on my own. I am so happy I don't have to listen to the ridiculous demands my parents make of me. And… I'm so happy that I'm not alone. I love you so much, Sasori. I don't know if you realize how much I feel for you, but… I guess you don't need to know right now.
Sasori gave a quick glance to the blonde behind him and smiled. I guess some change can't be that bad. Maybe some ripple in my life can't be too horrible. Maybe things are starting to look up? I wonder if that ridiculous nickname will leave me now. Having a young, naive child around me could make things less boring. Wait! That means I will have to wait in line for coffee every morning… Ughhh… I hate waiting.
The two returned to the building happily and reported to their boss that Deidara would be staying. Pein nodded in agreement and they returned to Sasori's room.
"So, the next thing for you to learn is-" Sasori began.
"Ahhhhhhh! I don't want to learn anymore~~~!" Deidara interrupted.
Sasori quickly placed a kiss on the blonde's lips and said, "Shut up, brat."
THE END!
P.S. I may or may not post a smut chapter within the next five years ;)
Thank you!
