Chapter 1: Mother's Day Dinner

The next day, I met up with some of my other best friends Alex Russo, Justin Evans, and Max Greenwald, as well as Carly's stepdad, Freddie, and Carly's old friend, Spencer at Alex's mom, Harper's house in Swissvale for a Mother's Day dinner. "Hi, guys!" I greeted my friends. "Hi, Angel!" Alex greeted back. "You know, I am feeling a little bit sad today," Carly pointed out. "I can see why, Carly," Mr. Benson pointed out. "This is your first Mother's Day without your mom." "I have always felt so close to her ever since we moved to Pittsburgh many years ago and now she is not even there to support me anymore because she and Freddie broke up," Carly tearfully explained. "Yes, that is a problem, all right," Spencer agreed. "Why don't you listen to some NSYNC or something to help you feel better, Carly?" I suggested. "I heard you happily singing this morning!" "My mom has a very special dinner for us planned," Alex told us. "My all-time favorite memory was when Mom agreed to help work the concession stand at one of the football games." "My mom did that once, too," Justin pointed out. "Mine as well," Max agreed. "Do you think that we will be able to do more community outings this summer now that we are all vaccinated?" "I'm not sure, Angel," Alex told me. "I still need to be very careful in this world." Then, when they started to play their favorite music from 98 Degrees, I became inappropriate, racist, and sexual. As a result, Alex had me leave Mother's Day dinner because of this. Later that night, Carly and Alex apologized to me and left me a plate of leftover food from Mother's Day dinner. "Thanks for a great day anyway, girls!" I thanked my friends. "You're welcome, Angel," Alex replied. "Good night, guys!" "Good night!"
