Cold. Dry. Heartbreaking.
Those were the three words that were capable of explaining the horrific battlefield within sight.
What was once a large field of flowers, greeted by the morning chirps of birds and gentle breeze, was now replaced with dark tarred stone that went out for what looked like miles above sight. No sign of life was able to be spotted, no matter how incredible eyesight one could've been. Whether it was natural Night Vision that a feline would've had or the incredible hawk-like sight of a canine.
However, there was a reason for all of this. It was unexpected, but it happened because of the battle that had occurred within the beautiful grassy fields. But now, a battle is an understatement when it comes to this situation. It was a war, like an actual war that occurred. The loud shrieks of pain and terror, the destroyed aircraft and vehicles, the weaponry scattered across the field. It no longer looked like a peaceful field, but rather a scene that would be in a horror movie.
Speaking of war, within a few hills, a distant flash of emerald-like energy was visible, before a red-furred creature was sent through a pillar of stone, body skidding across the ground below them, a loud cry of pain emitting from their muzzle once they came to a stop, laying there with two crimson auras surrounding their paws, coughing out blood onto the tarred stone below him.
The said being was a fox, but not a typical kind that the average mammal would see. His entire fur was a dark maroon color, to the point he looked like he was covered in blood. His eyes were entirely a bright silver color, with no pupils or anything. His attire was a white suit with elbow and kneepads, with an artistic logo of a fox's head on the back of his suit, which was now ripped and scratched.
As the fox slowly pulled himself up onto his knees, he stared up at the being in front of him, who was a leopard with dark grey fur, and emerald spots instead of black ones. His paws were surrounded by a green aura, with a pair of glowing green eyes on top of that. His attire was a black suit, with a golden trench coat over top of it. His glare would've given anyone the mental note that they were actually screwed.
"Give up, Liam." The leopard taunted, beginning to slowly levitate within the air and closer to the vulpine in front of him, his body emitting a slight emerald smoke-like entity, expanding more and more as it lowered towards the ground. "Your magic has drained drastically, your body is no longer in the condition of it being worth using, a simple movement could result in you breaking down right here."
The fox could only look up at the feline, a gentle growl emitting from his throat as he stared into the leopard's eyes, slowly pulling himself up off of the ground and onto his feet, his deadly glare remaining focused as he stared up at the larger male. With a raspy and wounded voice, the vulpine finally spoke up, teeth gently gritting.
"You'll never have it, Ezyt." Liam snarled at the being, his hands swirling about as he prepared a strike onto the being in front of him. "My Chaos Magic belongs to me, and only me. Even if I were to give it to one other, it most certainly doesn't belong in your hideous mitts!" This seemed to get a gentle chuckle from the leopard, who pulled his paw back and kneeled to Liam's level.
"You don't get it, don't you?" Ezyt chuckled, right before slamming an energy blade into his abdomen, quick enough that Liam wasn't able to react on time, and released a loud yell of pain as he felt himself being impaled from the sword. "You're so confident, Wilde, and I've always liked that about you. No matter how much you protested, you never gave up."
This only made Liam's blood boil as the concentration on his magic had no longer been present anymore, as he felt nothing but pain surge throughout his body as he stared into Ezyt's eyes, a gentle growl emitting from his muzzle before he was tossed to the side, releasing another yelp as he clutched at his impale wound, watching as Ezyt approached him.
"You and I both know that you possess one of the most powerful abilities within our Galaxy, we know that you are capable of both creating, remaking, and erasing anything from reality itself," Ezyt said as he kept his paws by his sides, head gently tilted as he stared down at Liam on the tarred ground. "Both of us, together, we can return to our original home, and remake it into something better than what it is now. Yet, you refuse to comply with the idea, and show nothing but hatred against it."
"Because what you would be doing, is putting billions at risk, Ezyt!" Liam snarled at the leopard, staring upwards at Ezyt with both fear and hatred in his eyes. "You don't know the difference between remaking and helping our world and destroying it. This could be the fate of Earth itself if you had the abilities I did, and I won't let that happen." With that, Ezyt couldn't help but softly laugh at the vulpine on the ground, before speaking up himself.
"So go ahead." The feline teased, slowly beginning to levitate within the air, a bright emerald glow surrounding his entire body as he stared down at the fox, who slowly pulled themself up, keeping a paw over the wound they had received. "Strike me down with the very minimal amount of magic you have left, Liam." Ezyt wanted the vulpine to challenge him, no matter how powerless they were, as his main goal remained steady: taking Liam's magic.
With that, Liam shakily pulled himself up to stand onto his feet, beginning to swirl his paws as his mind focused on his action, his gaze staring down towards the feline's chest. He then closed his eyes to keep his focus, his paws surrounded by swirls of his 'Chaos Magic.' He didn't dare to look at Ezyt, as he was well aware of what the Jaguar was attempting to do, so he decided to counter it with something that would keep him busy.
As this happened, a large chunk of stone began to rise from the ground behind him as Liam continued to focus on his magic, making the leopard only chuckle as he also went into stance, preparing to counter the inbound attack from Liam. Watching the red sparks form around the large bit of stone tempted the leopard to just send an attack and take the magic for himself. However, what he didn't expect was when it lifted suddenly into the air, and then heard Liam's words.
"You want my magic?" Liam spoke through gritted teeth as his eyes opened, his paws slowly reeling back as he gave Ezyt a cheeky little smirk. "Then fetch for it."
With that, the vulpine sent his mitts forward with a loud yelp due to the wound within his abdomen. However, upon performing that act, the sudden boulder was sent at rapid speeds out of the valley and into the sky, striking across the atmosphere that created a distant glitch-like glow within the air, signaling that it had left the atmosphere and out of standard range.
"Now, I hope you have fun tracking that."
This enraged Ezyt after Liam spoke, resulting in him spinning over and swiftly raising a paw, causing another energy blade to form swiftly and quickly impale the middle of the vulpine's stomach, who released a loud cry of pain as the energy sword sliced upwards slowly, cutting through his arteries, organs, and veins. With that, Ezyt raised his paw rather quickly once more, causing the blade to slice upwards, resulting in the fox's entire torso and above section being split in half, watching the corpse fall to the ground.
The leopard spat at the body, before reaching into his trench coat and taking out a small device, pressing a claw onto the button, and then waiting for a moment to get a slight static signal. He took a deep breath and then spoke on the radio, a tone of anger in his voice as he commanded his workers.
"All units, we have a new situation within our hands. Liam Wilde is dead, yet his magic was sacrificed and thrown out of our range within Klavialon. I want everyone to get to work, and get to work by tracking the traces of the stone. Once we have the Chaos Magic, we will return to Earth, and we will begin phase one." With that, he shut off the radio, looking towards the corpse a final time, and then saying his final words.
"I will find whoever gains that magic, Liam. I will be the Crimson Canid, and I will be feared by all."
So how was that for an intro?
In case you guys haven't noticed, I've been watching too many Marvel movies and shows to decide on this
This is only the beginning of an action-packed adventure that is currently inbound. If there's anything that people should suggest, do not be afraid to leave a review or shoot me a PM. I'll take any criticism into account unless it's absolute flame-mail.
And as for my WOAFA fanbase, it is not canceled, nor discontinued. It's still within the writing process, as I'm planning to write a bunch of chapters then just overhaul the book with all of them.
But now, I hope that y'all are ready for this new project I'm working on, and depending on how this turns out, we might have more similar stories with action-packed adventures/superpowered characters within the Zootopia universe.
But as for now, until next time. I'm excited for you guys to see how this story goes.
