Note: this is my version of how Mayor Humdinger goes from a dimwitted, cowardly mayor to an actual threatening villain in the new PAW Patrol theatrical movie(yes, it's real and the trailer drops next week on the 12th) There are two teasers out right now but they're in Japanese although I've found several English versions. Anyway, enjoy this short story!

Night had fallen in the small town of Foggy Bottom, the fog thicker than usual. Not that anyone minded as fog was a normal part of living there compared to the constant sunshine in the neighboring Adventure Bay.

On the beach, a set of doors opened the rocky cliffs and revealed a cave. Mayor Humdinger drove in with a sour look on his face, seated on his purple kitty carrier. He pressed a button which shut the cave doors and stormed angrily over to the computer. The Kitty Katastrophe Crew got out of the carrier and sensing their owner's foul mood decided to occupy themselves with their toys.

Mayor Humdinger stormed over to his desk and computer and threw his purple top hat down in anger. All he could think about was the PAW Patrol. Adventure Bay's beloved heroes. The thorns in his side for God knows how long now.

It had been simple. The mayor had been bored and took a ride through Adventure Bay when he noticed that Town Hall had been set up for an important event. Curious, he had watched the preparations and soon saw Mayor Goodway bring out a golden key which he quickly decided he must have.

The scheme had started out ok with several of the kittens providing a distraction while another kitten grabbed the key. They took off back towards Foggy Bottom only for Ryder and his mutts to show up on their tails. Mayor Humdinger had weaved through the forest but the nerdy boy and his pack of goody two shoes pups were not dissuaded. However, Humdinger had not watched where he was going and drove off a cliff only to land on a jagged edge. They were rescued by the allergy stricken German Shepherd and the ignorant flying Cockapoo. The key had fallen into the stream below but the lispy Chocolate Labrador had managed to retrieve it.

As it turned out, the event at Town Hall was a ceremony to award the PAW Patrol the key to the city for their service. While that was happening, the mayor and his kittens were cleaning up the mess they made during their initial distraction.

Mayor Humdinger sighed heavily as he sank in his chair. He and the PAW Patrol had been playing this cat-and-mouse game over and over for who knows how long now. Nothing seemed to stop those kids, they always found a way to overcome any situation. The mayor himself found their resilience to be especially annoying.

The disgruntled mayor went over to a nearby table and began looking through his plans and blueprints to find something that could allow him to gain the upper hand. But nothing seemed good enough, just a bunch of useless gadgets that couldn't even harm a fly. Also, every plan outline were ones that he had already tried and failed at. Nothing it seemed ever worked, it was all failure.

Humdinger soon came across a photo of the PAW Patrol that had been stuffed in with the other endless pieces of paper. He stared at for a long time taking note of the love, loyalty, and happiness between the young pack.

The mayor felt anger rising in his chest, but it was different than the times before. It was a boiling, fiery rage he had never felt before. He was a mayor! He wanted to have respect he deserved and win at everything. And this...child...and his pack of mangy, meddling mutts got in the way of it.

All these years, no one took him seriously. They saw him as a dimwitted, cowardly, selfish mayor who couldn't even get himself out of a situation by himself. Hell, no one in Foggy Bottom even respected him let alone Adventure Bay.

All these years, he had been letting children stop him from achieving his goals and gaining the respect and power he wanted.

The more he stared at the photo, the angrier he got. His golden eyes were full of a fiery rage that was bubbling ferociously at the surface like a volcano about to explode. A group of children were more respected than him.

Then...he snapped.

His anger boiled over, and Mayor Humdinger let out an agonizing scream.

It was so loud that it shook the cave. The kittens quickly hid behind objects, completely terrified as they never saw the mayor like this.

Mayor Humdinger then went on a rampage, swiping all the papers off the table. He grabbed what ever was near him and threw it at the wall. Gadgets, empty tuna fish cans, yarn balls, anything that was handy he threw in anger.

The kittens watched in terror and horror as their owner rampaged like a crazy person. He had finally been pushed over the edge.

After a few minutes, Mayor Humdinger stopped throwing things and started to calm down. His breathing was heavy and ragged, his mustache and hair sticking out jaggedly, his golden eyes wide with a psychotic and deranged look in them. He looked around at the chaotic mess he had made.

No more he thought. No more. No more was he the cowardly, boneheaded mayor he had always been. Now, he was going to be a serious, intelligent mastermind who was respected by everyone.

He took a few deep breaths to compose himself. Now, he needed to figure out what he wanted to do next. But one thing, and only one thing, popped into his mind.

Revenge.

He wanted revenge. Revenge against those noisy, goody two shoed kids. They had humiliated him for years and he let them. Not anymore. Finally, he was going to give them a fight like they've never had before.

However in order to do that, and get the respect he deserved, he needed the perfect town to do. Not Foggy Bottom because barely anyone lived here plus it not the nicest place with its constant dreary weather. Mayor Humdinger didn't even consider Adventure Bay because it was still too small plus it was the PAW Patrol's home which gave them an advantage.

Mayor Humdinger took out a map of the surrounding areas. He found several other towns on the map, but they were all too small and not enough. Then, one town got his attention. Adventure City which was 30 miles south of Adventure Bay.

A devious, almost psychotic, Cheshire cat-like grin appeared on Mayor Humdinger's face. Adventure City was perfect. It was huge which meant many new people to respect him. And as far as he knew, none of the PAW Patrol had even been there which meant he could use the city's countless streets and alleyways to his advantage. Plus, there were plenty abandoned warehouses for him and the kittens to hide in. It was the perfect place for him to establish himself as mayor, not to mention the fact that he had been there for a mayor's conference years ago.

But Mayor Humdinger soon realized a flaw in his plan. The people of Adventure City probably would not accept them as their new mayor. However, he soon thought of a solution, one that made him giddy with glee. There was one thing the mayor loved more than kittens, the color purple, himself, and his top hats.

Chaos.

The mayor sure loved chaos. The destruction, confusion, fear, and unruliness it caused was amazing. If the people of Adventure City didn't accept him as their new mayor, he would simply cause chaos and destruction to force them into accepting him as mayor. Humdinger quickly went through all the papers on the floor until he came across several that caught his eye. An idea for a genius and destructive invention began to form in his head. With it, he could make the citizens of Adventure City respect and fear him. He wanted all of the world to know and fear him. He was not the dimwit he used to be, now he was a force to feared and respected. And he would let everyone know it.

The more he thought about it, the more excited he became. Soon, all the world would bow down to him and the PAW Patrol wouldn't be able to stop him. No matter how hard they tried, he would fight back until their resilience broke.

"Kitties, pack your bags!" Mayor Humdinger said enthusiastically, "We're going to Adventure City!"

The kittens were still greatly unsettled by the mayor's outburst and almost maniacal gleam in his eyes. But for the sake of the mayor's sanity(and their own), they obeyed him and began to pack up supplies for their trip.

Mayor Humdinger only got more excited the more he thought about his plan. Finally, he would get the respect he deserved and humiliate the PAW Patrol in the process. Then, one of the kittens meowing got his attention. He looked and saw the gray kitten next to him with a confused look. The others looked confused as well.

"Oh, you want to know why we're going to a city where you kitties have never been?" Mayor Humdinger said, "Well, it's simple. For far too long, the PAW Patrol has gotten in the way of our fun and made us look like losers. Now, we're going to return the favor and make them look like losers and Adventure City is the perfect place to do it. Not to mention, I'm going to make myself their new mayor and everyone will finally respect me..err...I mean, us!"

The mayor began to laugh, but it was more maniacal and unhinged. The kittens reluctantly snickered along with him as they were still very freaked out and confused by the whole thing. After a while, all the supplied had been packed up and the Kitty Katastrophe Crew loaded up in a vehicle almost similar to the PAW Patroller. Before heading into the vehicle himself, Mayor Humdinger took one last look at the photo of the PAW Patrol.

"Well this is it PAW Patrol." Mayor Humdinger said with a calm, sinister voice and his eyes gleaming with vile, "For years, you've made me look like a failure, a loser, a nobody. Now, I'm gonna return the favor. Adventure City is going to bow down and fear me and you can't stop me. And if you try, I'm going to break your resilience."

Mayors Humdinger let out another psychotic laugh. Before heading to the vehicle, he plunged a knife through the photo. Then, he and his kittens took off for Adventure City.

To be continued in the PAW Patrol movie.
