Dom had been rather lonely the past few months.. He would go to work everyday seeing the same people over and over… going home every night to the same 4 walls .. 4 empty walls as he had just recently moved out of his old apartment and into a new one. It was bigger and he just hasn't found the time to sit and work out how he wants his place to look. His loneliness had been spotted by few colleagues at work.
Donna had tried to get him to come over for a night at her place, watch a movie and get a takeaway and just chat. But dom said "No thanks Donna maybe another night.."
That was 4 months ago
Chloe had tried getting him to come over and have a sibling sleepover at her place "it will be fun bro come on .. i'll get pizza and we can watch Mamma mia or something". Dom was not phased by it .. he didn't know himself why he didn't want the company . he just didn't want it "thanks Chloe .. but i … i have plans tonight .. maybe another night" that was a complete and utter lie
That was 3 months ago.
He had properly gotten invites from everyone on keller and AAU asking to come over for the night, have a few drinks or something and he turned them all down .. even Henrick tried with his tea party in the CEO office.
Ange noticed his rather spaced out self it worried her and she wanted to know what was going on but wasn't sure if he would open up to her as much as he properly would with carole. Ange couldn't bear to see him so isolated any longer .. she walked into work that day and went straight to find dom he today was working on AAU as they were understaffed "Dom can i have a word with you in my office please" she said sweetly and made way into her office putting down her handbag on the table turning round when dom came in the office
"Whats up.?" Dom asked innocently thinking she was gonna ask him something about a patient or ask him to scrub in with her later
"Sit down .." she said as she sat down at her desk. Dom sat down on the sofa opposite her chair. He looked confused and a little worried that something had happened as her face didn't look very happy "dom… I can't help but notice that you seem distant .. and ..unhappy " she said just telling him her worries
Dom looked at her confused. He didn't think he was being distant but he could kinda agree on being unhappy but they had a rather close relationship and he cared about her as much as she cared about him and he didn't want her worrying over him "im fine .. couldn't be happier actually .." he said sounding so convincing and that made ange relax
"Really? What's got you so excited then ..? she asked smiling
"Well you know i moved to a new flat .. i finally started decorating and it coming together nicely" he explained and it was true he eventually sat down and decided to decorate it to see if it would cheer him up but it wasn't really fixing his loneliness
Ange smiled and hearing that made her happy "i was thinking actually .. you live by yourself … doesn't it get lonely ?" she asked knowing that he said he was happy but was he actually happy
"No not really" he lied through his teeth " i watch tv most nights or im painting walls with the radio on its calming actually" he explained
"Well…. Maybe i'll come over tonight . give you a hand painting?" she suggested figuring that maybe some company would be nice for him. Dom sat for a minute and he couldn't turn his mother down.. He turned everyone else down…
" yeah.. Okay …" he smiled slightly at her
"Okay then i'll meet you down in pulses after your shift" she smiled fully relaxed that she knew he was okay and letting her come over to keep him company
Dom smiled and nodded as he stood up and then left the office to get on with his day. His very long day
That afternoon after dom finished work he went down to pulses where Ange was waiting for him he went over to her
"Ah you're here.. Are you ready to go?" she said all happy excited to be painting as she found it very therapeutic
"Yeah " he said and started walking out the hospital with her
They soon arrived and Dom's new apartment was too far away from the hospital and ange soon realised … all Dom had done was painted a small patch of navy blue paint about the nice of a football on the wall in the living room area … "I thought you said you painted some walls already ?" she asked realising dom had lied to her ..
"I err only got round to testing the paint see what it would look like first … " he said trying to make something up on the spot
Ange set her things on the island in the kitchen that was open air through to the living room "dom … there's something bothering you .. I can tell.. So go sit on that sofa and i'll get the coffee and talk to me .. please ... " she was his mother and she knew something wasn't right
Dom gave up and did as he was told and sat on the old sofa that he was meaning to get replaced and get a newer one that would fit into the room better so it didn't look like the room was drowned out from the small sofa from his old place. Ange soon came over with the coffees and set them down on the coffee table and sat down next to dom and looked at him
"Alright … tell me .. what's going on? …" she said quietly hoping her son would open up
Coming up- Dom tells Ange what's bothering him... Ange tries to help him ... but does her help .. actually help him? Does he lie to her again. ?
