My first fanfic for Chise and Elias in The Ancient Magus Bride!

Enjoy!

Chise slowly stretched her limbs burrowing her face into the soft pillow in front of her face.

She could hear the soft breathing beside her. Letting her eyes flutter open she lifted her head and looked to her right to see Elias still asleep, the red hues dark with his eyes still closed. She shifted on her side and gently ran her fingers along the horn down to the skull where it connected.

At twenty she was used to sleeping beside him regularly for the past couple of years.

Angelica had knocked the back of Elias' head when she had found out that Chise had slept in his bed on several occasions when she was sixteen.

Not that anything had happened back then.

They were both such emotionally stunted beings. One who felt so much loss and pain, desiring to feel nothing, to be used, and discarded like trash but needing someone to show her the way again. The other did not know how to feel, a long, lonely existence of not being accepted in either world but wanting something without knowing what they needed.

They needed each other.

Chise smiled and moved down to lay beside his head, rubbing her nose above the line of teeth as her hand rubbed strong maroon coloured shoulders that were hidden under her pyjamas.

She liked these quiet moments, sunlight just trickling in between the small part between curtains. She liked being able to slowly rouse him from his sleep.

She learned her lesson to not sing him lullabies from that incident long ago and needed help from Angelica in reviving him from his sleep.

"Mhm," he huffed gently out into the pillow. Limbs shifting until he raised his head up from the pillow, using his elbows to prop himself up. "Good morning, Chise," he murmured thick with sleep.

She smiled up at him. "Good morning, Elias," she greeted him.

She could tell by the twinkle in his eyes that he was happy to see her still in bed with him. She liked to sneak out of bed first in the morning and go to their garden for a run with Ruth.

He dipped his head down and nuzzled her with the snout of his skull head. The tip nuzzling into her hair. She wrapped her arms around his neck. He pulled back and stared down at her.

His hand cupped her cheek, dark fingers splayed on her pale skin.

"Chise, is today a good day?" He asked her.

She smiled and nodded. "An exceptionally good day!" She corrected him.

"Mhm, why?" He asked her.

"We woke up together and it's a very special day!" She told him and kissed his jaw.

"You have said that already, but what is today? I feel something about not knowing the day is," Elias responded unsure if he was going to offend her.

"Elias today is the anniversary of when we met," she told him with a soft hum, her fingers playing with the collar of his pyjama shirt.

"Of when I bought you?" Elias corrected.

"Semantics. You freed me that day. I never thought I could or should be happy again," Chise explained gently.

Elias turned his head and nuzzled under her jaw. "You deserve every happiness, Chise. I would do almost anything to make you happy, as long as you stayed with me," he told her.

Chise sighed and wrapped her arms around his broad shoulders. "There is one thing I am missing. It doesn't have to be now, but one day," she hummed out.

"Tell me," Elias pressed her for her response.

"Give me a child," she told him.

She heard the soft gasp by her ear before he shifted over her, hands planted on either side of her head. She smiled up at him.

"A child? By me?" Elias asked her.

"Yes, my husband should be the one fathering our child, correct?" She asked him with a soft smile.

"The child…what if it was like me?" He asked as he shifted away and glanced to their full length mirror on the back of the door.

"The child would be loved in any form it takes. I thought I would never say these words, but I want to be a mother and the only father could be you, I love you," Chise said as she sat up and straddled his lap.

His hands held her sides pulling her close. "I'm still learning to express myself and to read people," he told her.

"I know, that's why someday in our future we can work on the baby, for now we can get some practice," she hummed out softly.

Elias hummed back and cupped her cheek. "I require lots of practice Chise," he told her.

She laughed and nodded. "Me too!" She agreed and pushed his shoulders to have him lay back. He stared up at her, red eyes filled with curiosity and affection for her as she unbuttoned his shirt first, his hands gripping her side. "Today is a good day and it can only get better," she promised him.

They had spent the good part of the morning in bed. Ruth and Silky keeping mostly outside in the garden.

Chise threw up again and let Silky rubbed her back gently. It had been a couple of months since she told Elias she wanted to have his child. She didn't think it was possible to be pregnant that fast.

She flushed the toilet and Silky wiped her face with a warm cloth.

"Thank you, I think…" Chise said softly, and Silky nodded as she cupped her face. "You agree. This isn't a flu. I need to have it confirmed before I tell him."

Silky nodded and pulled Chise out of the bathroom. They walked down the hall where Elias was still asleep and even Ruth was sleeping in that particular morning. The two descended the stairs and Silky brought her to the kitchen. Chise sat down as Silky made some toast and put the kettle on.

Chise felt lucky that Silky took care of her and everyone in the house. She smiled as the buttered toast and tea were set down before her. Silky sat down and folded her hands on her lap.

"Silky, would you be excited if there was a little one?" Chise asked her.

Silky nodded, silent as ever. A smile graced her lips though and she tapped the table near Chise's toast.

Chise nodded and lifted the toast up and took a few bites.

"Morning…were you sick again?" Elias grumbled as he entered the kitchen in his pyjamas. He had become more relaxed over the years since meeting Chise that he didn't have to be fully dressed for the day just for breakfast.

"Sorry, I was. I actually need to collect something from a drugstore in the city," Chise told him.

"If you are sick, you will stay here," Elias told her as he sat down across from her.

Silky got up and grabbed a pan and set it on the stovetop. She flitted about the kitchen, grabbing bowls, ladles, whisk, and ingredients.

"I don't think you'll know what to get…I don't even know which one is right," Chise hummed out before sipping her tea.

Elias crossed his arms, tilting his head. "And what do you need to get?"

"A pregnancy test, she thinks she's pregnant," Ruth yawned out as he entered and sat beside Chise.

"Excuse me?" Elias asked.

"I was going to tell him," she hissed at Ruth who gave her an apologetic nod. "Anyways, it's just a suspicion."

"You two have been going at it quite a bit, so no wonder it may have happened," Ruth huffed out.

Silky came up behind Ruth and shoved some toast into his mouth. He munched away and took the cue to be silent.

Chise looked to Elias and saw that he remained completely still. "Elias…are you alright?" She asked him.

"Yes…I should get you that test. I'll ask Angelica for some assistance," Elias said as he got up and left the kitchen quickly.

Chise moved to get up and Silky wrapped her arms around her shoulders. Chise sighed heavily and nodded. "Let him process it on his own terms. It's not even official," she sighed out.

"You've smelled different for a couple of weeks, but it's not my place to say," Ruth mumbled out between his toast.

Silky made a small noise and Ruth shoved the last bite into his mouth before transforming and taking off out of the kitchen.

Silky glanced at all over her ingredients on the counter. She patted Chise's shoulder.

Chise glanced back at her, "Yes, I can definitely eat now, the toast and tea helped immensely."

Silky smiled and let go of Chise. At least Chise would enjoy breakfast with Silky. The two heard Elias call for Ruth and the door opened before both of them left.

Chise looked at Silky and smiled. "I suppose he decided to bring Ruth along so there is a witness when Angelica loses it," Chise laughed softly.

Silky nodded and set down a plate of pancakes and bacon before Chise.

Chise only hoped that Angelica wouldn't be too hard on Elias. After all, Chise wanted the baby more than he did.

"He didn't freak out…do you think he's alright with the idea? I mean we had talked about it months ago," Chise hummed out around her bacon.

Silky nodded in agreement.

Chise placed a hand on her belly, "The baby will be loved and cherished."

Silky smiled softly.

"We can relax in the garden after breakfast since the two are gone!" Chise offered with a smile.

Silky nodded, the two could enjoy their morning together and worry about everything else later.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it!
