On July the first 1991 the 10 year old twins Dipper and Mabel Pines were sitting in the living room watching the newest episode of Jeopardy. They paused the tv when they heard a knock on the door. When they opened it they saw an old man with a long silver beard and a broken nose. Hello said the old man. By any chance can you get your parents so we all can discuss some exciting news?
Their parents Alex and Samantha Pines soon gathered in the living room and the twins were handed letters. After reading them the Pines family could not believe what was written.
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment. We await your owl by not later than 31 July. Yours sincerely Minerva McGonagall.
This has got to be a joke said Alex. Surely this can't be real, there is no such thing as magic said Samantha. The old man then proved it was real by pointing a wooden stick at the fireplace and setting it ablaze. Whoa said Mabel. Cool said Dipper. I am surprised by the situation myself said the old man. This is the first time the book of acceptance and the quill of admittance have ever chosen students from outside of the UK. Um, mister um stuttered Alex. Please, call me Professor Dumbledore said the old man. Professor Dumbledore, if this school is in the UK I don't know if we can afford to travel there said Alex. I know of an even faster way of getting there said Dumbledore. We will use the floo network. I didn't know this was an anti vaccine magic school said Samantha. Dumbledore began laughing. Floo which is spelled F-L-O-O is the magical way of traveling by fireplace. He then pointed his wand at the fireplace and extinguished the flames. He then dropped a white powder in and said Diagon Alley. Green flames shot up. This may seem absolutely mad but now we are to walk through the fire and it will not burn. The pines family began holding each other in fear. Not to worry said Professor Dumbledore. I will show you how it's done. He walked through the flames and then walked back out without a scratch. Knowing that it was safe they all walked through and found themselves in a pub.
