Terraria: Legend of Alucard

Ch.1

A new Beginning

POV: Alucard

"Nnngh…" I utter as the harsh sunlight, blinding and warm shines in my tired eyes. Getting up, I scan my surroundings. Lush green plains, tall trees and healthy leaves. I was in a forest… Which was weird, I recall being somewhere else… but I have no memory of it. Soon, my ear picks up a noise, and I rise to my feet, drawing a copper shortsword, my eyes go down on my rather useless weapon, I recall having a much more grandeur weapon than this toothpick!

A man, brown-haired, light green shirt, denim jeans and brown shoes. His attire was somewhat modern. Was he in the same situation as I? Soon he spoke. "They say there is a person who will tell you how to survive in this land." Before I could speak, he smirks. "Oh, wait…That's me. The name's Steve." 'Steve' spoke. I respond. "Really? Alucard."

"Alucard, huh? Well, your white hair and red eyes certainly does strike me as a vampire-like guy… But… shouldn't you be burning up…?"

Soon the thought strikes me. I was standing in sunlight for quite some time. I would have been ash. "Hm… I guess I was immune to sunlight in this land.

"Either way, you've got to make a shelter. Night will be coming soon, and I'd rather not be digested by Slimes." Steve spoke, disturbing my thoughts as I look to him. "What do we have to do?"

Steve smirks as he, somehow, had a recliner. "You mean what do you have to do."

"I'm sorry?"

"I'm not really all that strong anymore, But I can cover for you." Steve pulled out a wood bow and some arrows. "I think it'll be best if I take care of any slimes that wander our way."

"Oh, fair enough, any preferences?"

Steve was in thought. "Let's start off with a single room bungalow for now." He was now on guard… looking around as he reclined. I left him to his guarding as I found an axe on my person. I scoured a few good-looking trees and struck. With each strike, the tree wavers and shakes, before busting into logs, the logs flew into me… or more so, into my bag.

Steve was relaxing when I turned to see what he was doing, but when a slime came forth, he took his bow with his right hand, and aims, pulling back with his left, he lets an arrow fly. The slime was ruptured, it then sizzles away, but it left behind a few gels. Steve soon lifts himself off, exclaiming. "Aha! Alucard! Take these gels." He would pick them up and tosses them to me one after the other. I catch them and look at the colourful pieces of Slime.

"You can combine them with some wood to make torches." He speaks.

"That's interesting. Slimes are flammable?" I respond.

Soon Night fell and the house was complete. "Well, it's not much, but it will do." Steve spoke and I nod. "I'm not really a good builder…"

Steve chuckles and sits down on a chair. "Well, the wood furniture doesn't feel too bad. No splinters, smooth."

I look outside, seeing eye-like entities flying around and zombies. "What the-?"

"Yeah… This land isn't so…hospitable at night." I look to him. "So…what about sleep?"

Steve shrugged. "Well, sleep does make time go fast. Best thing about us is that sleep does wonders for the body. Get hurt, sleep and the pain will go away."

"Is there any more of us?"

"Well, there's Harold. But he is…kind of stingy. He isn't gonna come until you've got moolah, Dosh, Buck, Money. Then there is this Dryad. I only saw glimpses of her."

"Dryads?"

Steve nods, "Yeah. Forest Guardians, mostly female, but I've never really seen one close up. Said to approach the chosen one."

I then look outside. "I see…" I settle near a corner and close my eyes. Steve simply glanced outside…

The Next Day – POV: Third Person

A large spherical entity was hidden behind the trees, gazing at the newly build house. "Soon…" it hisses

Alucard opened the door and looked around… The sun had risen once again.

He had started exploring the area around the house. He soon uncovered a small cave, a chest within held useful items, like potions of healing, a spear, some money and a Shackle. Strange to hold in a chest, but he soon delves deeper, but it ended up at a dead end. Walking back, he looked to his left, a feminine figure with a head of green was visible. "…H-Hey!" The figure runs off, "Wait!" He calls out, following the sounds of running and grass rustling. Soon, he sees a massive tree. Approaching and knocking on it, it was hollow. Taking an axe, he makes a makeshift doorway and enters it, a chest is before him, containing 26 silver coins, more potions and an Aglet, and a small stool. Equipping the aglet, he soon delves deeper into the tree, finding more useful items.

Emptying out the place, he soon returns to the surface, soon he encounters the figure again, she gasps and flees, to the dismay of Alucard. With a sigh, he soon returns to the house, but not before returning to the hollowed-out tree for one of the empty chests. When he returned, Steve saw the chest with goods. "You've been busy. Where did you find all this?"

"A big hollowed out tree." Was Alucard's response. "What." Was Steve's.

"A… big… hollowed out tree-?"

"YOU WHAT!?" Steve exhaled. "That was the place where Dryads once resided, it's like a memorial! You can't just dig in there and take!"

Alucard sighed, "Ok, fine I'll go back a- "

Steve starts blabbering gibberish to silence him, "No! nonono- NONANEEN- You cannot go back to a place that's agitated, you could bring something back! Don't do it again…!"

Meanwhile outside, the figure taps her bare foot on grass as she sighed, "Great…" She looks back at a the makeshift doorway Alucard made… She retreats into the shadow as Alucard breaks a hole in the house ceiling, it seemed they were making an upper floor. "I found some money, I've got around 57 coins, is that enough for that greedy sod?"

Steve soon responds. "I guess so, he's just like me, a minimalist, just find a few chests in the caves for him, he'll need to place his stock in them."

As they mutter, she hears slithering behind her. The female sternly meets the massive gaze of the spherical eye. "… You won't torment this land anymore…" She utters.

The eye soon retreats, its wordless threat made as the female soon runs to her hollowed tree, restoring the hole Alucard previously made…
