A/N: Hiya, fanfamily! This is a Peter Parker/Tony Stark one-shot. After all of the positive reviews on my last story, "Five Things the Avengers Liked About Peter Benjamin Parker," I am thinking about writing a sequel called "Five Things Peter Benjamin Parker Liked about the Avengers." Whatcha think? I really hope you like this new story, and I hope the song I chose to base it off of goes well with it. Leave a review and tell me what y'all think!

Disclaimer: The song was written by Zach Sobiech, and the characters belong to Marvel.

Up In the Clouds

Peter sat by the hospital bed, his head in his hands as he wept, his shoulders shaking.

I fell down, down, down,

Into this dark and lonely hole.

May was gone.

There was no one there

To care about me

Anymore.

Shot.

That's how she died.

She was shot, all because some idiot found out he was Spiderman.

By the time they reached the hospital, she was gone.

Peter was alone.

And I needed a way

To climb and grab ahold

Of the edge you were sitting there,

Holding a rope

And then, suddenly, Tony was there, hugging him and holding him, telling him it would be alright.

That he wasn't alone.

And we'll go up, up, up

But I'll fly a little higher.

Tony took him in.

Peter found that the darkness, the sadness, and the guilt that followed him around every day was slowly diminishing the more time he spent with his mentor.

Go up in the clouds because the view's

A little nicer.

Up here, my dear

It won't be long now.

It won't be long now.

They were happy.

They were a family, just him, Tony, and Pepper.

And then Thanos happened.

And suddenly Peter was gone.

When we get back on land

Well, I'll never get my chance.

Tony invented time travel, five years later.

He did it to save Peter, so Peter could live the life he deserved.

So Tony could have his son back.

I'll be ready to live

And it'll be ripped right out of my hands.

Tony told himself that he would see Peter again.

And maybe someday

We'll take a little ride.

He'd get to meet Morgan, and they'd be a proper family again.

We'll go up, up, up, and everything

Will be just fine.

But that didn't happen.

Because Tony died.

We'll go up, up, up

But I'll fly a little higher.

Go up in the clouds because the view's

A little nicer.

Moments after Peter came back, Tony died.

Right in front of him.

Up here, my dear

It won't be long now.

It won't be long now.

And Peter was alone.

Again.

If only

If only

I had a little bit more time.

He visited his grave with Morgan every day.

If only

If only

I had a little bit more time

With

You.

Every day, he would take Morgan home and then go back to the graveyard.

We could go up, up, up

And take that little ride.

He'd talk to Tony. He'd tell him everything he'd done that day at school, everything he'd done as Spiderman.

He'd tell him that he would make him proud one day.

We'll sit there holdin' hands and everything

Will be just right.

He knew he would see Tony again someday. And even though he knew this, sometimes he would find himself overwhelmed with grief.

But in the end, he was always smiling, because Tony was still with him.

And maybe someday

I'll see you again.

We'll float up in the clouds and we'll never

See the end.

He knew that he had made Tony proud.

And until they saw each other again, Peter would be there for Morgan. He would do everything he could to continue Tony's legacy.

We'll go up, up, up

But I'll fly a little higher.

And Peter would be okay.

Like he said, Tony was still with him.

Go up in the clouds because the view's

A little nicer.

Up here, my dear

It won't be long now.

He was still with him, watching proudly from up in the clouds.

It won't be long now…
