The Staff of Wonder and Ruin (Reboot)

very recently I have been experiencing some bad writers block as well as getting way too distracted by my PlayStation. and work.

so to help get the ideas flowing I went back and reread some of my old stuff and holy hell were there so many problems with this original story and there's an entire chapter missing right at the very end.

to those of you who read, favorited, and followed the original version of staff of wonder and ruin 1 2 God bless you for your patience and love of the fandom because that story was full of so many mistakes it's embarrassing and all the flamers were well deserved.

now like all my other stories this being done through a phone so not everything will be capitalized I got big thumbs and a tiny screen... sorry. in the past few years from the original version of the story came out so now I have upped my crossover game and feel that this story needs a total rework so I hope you all enjoy reading this new reboot version of my story.

Chapter 1. Hog-worts?

This whole mission had been one hurdle after another from the moment the Demon Brothers had tried to ambush them on the road. To the first encounter with the missing-nin Zabuza Mamochi. Kakashi had taken the time to try and train his gemini team and was confident enough in their abilities. Sasuke was skilled enough to handle the supposed hunter-nin and he trusted that Naruto's healing factor would make sure he'd survived. His only real concern for his team would have been Sakura, but he was confident in his own abilities that he would be more than able to keep her from any serious danger. However the last thing he had ever expected to occur today would be the sudden appearance of a dark chakra he had not felt in over 12 years.

"That chakra. . . no it can be." Kakashi thought to himself in a panic as the entire bridge was suddenly flooded by shockwave of thick crimson chakra that completely wide the way the hidden mist jutsu Zabuza had created earlier to provide himself with cover.

"What the hell is going on?" Zabuza demanded as he hopped back creating some distance between the two of them. However Kakashi just continue to ignore him as his full attention was to the growing column of swirling chakra that was coming out of his blonde genin. Kakashi was only a few yards away from where Naruto was and he could clearly see the teen partly transformed. He was hunched over like a beast ready to pounce. His entire body was coated with a dark red cloak made of chakra. His nails hand become claws and the whiskers on his face were now thicker and more prominent.

"Kakashi- sensei what's going on?" Sakura called out she was still standing guard with Tazuna. Looking over she could see that something was wrong with Sasuke and Naruto. She couldn't understand what was happening one moment everything was covered in fog till a sinister wave of chakra blasted everything away. It took all she had just to stay standing, Tazuna wasn't as fortnite and had passed out from the chakra wave.

"Master Zabuza you must leave." Looking over Kakashi and Zabuza saw that an ice mirror had just formed between then. What they hadn't expected was the state it's user was in.

"Haku!" Zabuza called out as he reached out to catch the boy before he fell to the ground. His mask had been shattered but what made Kakashi want to look away was how his half his body was bloody and chard. Clearly Naruto had been able to land a hit before Hake had managed to fully escape through his ice mirrors.

RRRRAAAAWWWWW!!!

Suddenly thunderous roar sounded off and looking away from his two opponents Kakashi saw that there was now what looked like two chakra tails whipping behind Naruto. the transformation to his body had now increased as he could start to see the demons chakra burn away his skin in some places.

"What is this new devil'ry?" Zabuza asked as he cast Haku aside and readied his executioner's blade. Kakashi was silent for some time before beginning to run through some hand signs.

"Kyuubi" Finishing the last seal Kakashi brought his right hand as it was suddenly covered by lightning that seems to dance around the palm of his hand. "This foe is beyond any of us." With those last words Kakashi rocketed forward with such blinding speed that Zabaza only just managed to see him bring his right arm up the fingers of his hand all together to make a point.

"Lightning Blade"

Kakashi called out the name of his justu as he slammed his hand through his sensei son's chest. The last thing he saw was a blinding white light but somewhere in that blinding whiteness for a moment he swore he could see the face of his old teammate Rin mirrored over that of Naruto's.

He was falling, falling deeper and deeper in to darkness, travelling towards some unseen place. How long had he been in this place. Naruto had seen what had happened on the bridge after Haku had killed Sasuke. He didn't understand what was going with him and were all that dark chakra came from.

"This isn't so bad." Naruto thought to himself. For years the blonde teen thought the pain of his loneliness and the village beatings would be multiplied upon his death. He knew for certain that he was dead. Although he had not been in control of his body when the dark chakra took over he could still see and hear everything that was happening. However this vast darkness wasn't so bad. It felt like he was floating, almost graceful falling through water.

The power of the mystic...

Inner strength a staff of wonder and ruin...

So much to do, so little time...

Don't be afraid the door is still shut...

Now, step forward...

Can you do it?

Power sleeps within you...If you give it form

"Who's there? show yourself." Naruto demanded as he tried to looking around but there was only darkness there and nothing more

Suddenly there was a blinding flash of white light that caused him to cover his eyes in momentary blindness. From all around him huge ribbons of light where whipping past him as they all started to join at a single point. Within these ribbons of light Naruto could see everything, not just everything he had ever seen, but everything that had ever happened. All around him. Naruto could only watch in amazement. It was like the ribbons of light themselves seem to be made up of thousands of tv screens showing him thousands upon thousands of images. Suddenly he was violently being pulled forward towards light and sound. As quick as all of this was happening It was gone and Naruto was finding himself waking up. Slowly starting to open his eye's, Naruto had to blink several times to adjust to the brightness of the morning sun.

"Oh man, what happened?" Naruto said aloud his voice sounding horse from lack of use. He was finally able to see clearly and realizing that he was no longer on the bridge in Wave country but instead he was laying in a bed with white linen sheets. "Ah damnit." Naruto spat out in pain as he sharply took in a breath of air.

He had tried to sit up on his bed but was stopped when pain started to shoot through his chest. He swallowed a dry breathe before trying again to sit up. Looking around the room he was in Naruto saw that it was quite large with high windows and ceiling. From the look of the sky outside and the sunlight entering the room Naruto is able to easily tell that it was midday. The room looked to be made out of a light tan colored stone. The bed he was in was one of many that lined both sides of the walls. To his right he saw a door that most likely led to some kind of office and to the left was a large set of wooden doors.

"Where the heck am I?" From the look of the bandages wrapped around his body and the white gown he was in it was clear enough to Naruto that he was in some kind of hospital. None of the buildings in the Wave village had looked to be made out of stone. "The bridge!" Naruto suddenly called out as he remembered where he had been last. He had been fighting alongside Sasuke against the huntsman who had later turned out to be Haku, the pretty girl who had turned out to be a boy he had met earlier in the forest while training.

"Sasuke."he had remembered watching his teammate die protecting him by stepping in front of Haku's attack. "Sakura-chan. . . Kakashi-sensei." He wondered what had happened to the rest of his team. When suddenly his mind was bombarded by painful flashes of memory. However one memory in particular stood out among the rest. Quickly throwing off his bed sheet and removing the top of the gown Naruto look down at his bandage chest and began to tear away at his wrappings.

"It really happened."Naruto said quietly to himself when he saw the fifth sized red raw scare that was right above his heart. Something that happened to him on the bridge he had to become so angry and his body was consumed by that dark chakra, a Kakashi had no choice but to stop him. Sitting there alone in that strange place Naruto had done something he had not done in many years, he began to cry. But these were not the tears of a small child weeping for his unknown parents. He cried over the loss of a teammate and the pain of what Kakashi and done. After a few minutes he had finally stopped and used his bed sheets to dry his eyes.

"Alright Naruto time to figure out where you are." He told him so as he threw up his bed sheets and carefully got out of bed. Taking a few tentative steps test see if his legs were working properly quickly and quietly made his way to the front doors of the room keeping an eye on the back office. Reaching the doors and giving them a slightly push he winced when the wooden door give a loud creep as it open. Looking back and seeing that no one had stepped out of the office Naruto quickly left the room.

"Wow." Naruto was amazed he was now standing in the middle of a long stone corridor. The stone floor was gives by a deep maroon colored carpet and the walls by several portraits of various sizes. However was was amazing was the fact that the people in the portraits along the corridor were moving and taking to each other. As he moved closer to the wall to get a better look some of the portraits inhabitants finally noticed him and some started to whispered and pointed.

"Young man you should be in your bed." It had been a the square portrait of stern faced plump woman in some kind of red and white uniform with a large funny looking hat on that had spoken to him.

"Your talking to me!?" Naruto almost shouted out unable to believe what was happening. He took a few steps forward till he was standing directly in front of the women.

"Do you see anyone else standing in this corridor. . . Stop that!" The woman sharply said as she tried to swat away the hand Naruto have brought up to touch the portrait with.

"Sorry lady, I've never seen a talking painting before." Naruto told her as he brought his hands up a surrendering jester. Then he was supposed hit with a brilliant idea. "Hey lady you would happen to know where I am?" He asked hoping he was near the old bridge builders village.

"Young man you must have had a go at it, your in Hogwarts castle." The woman said a bit worriedly as he took a closer look at Naruto's injuries. Naruto's face pailed at her response.

"Hog-worts?" Tried to repeat the word and found it strange on his tongue.

"Yes Hogwarts, as in Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry." The woman clarified as if it was the simplest thing in the world. However for Naruto this new piece of information was any but simple. He know what a witch and wizard were sure he had heard the story's along with ghost and other imaginary things when he was a little kid.

"Wait come back here young man." The portrait called out, but Naruto's legs were now on autopilot as he ran down the corridor. He didn't know where he was going all he know for sure was that he had to get back home to the hidden leaf village. At the end of the corridor Naruto stumbled upon the landing of a massive multi-staircase stairwell. Coming to a quick stop Naruto looked up and down the stairwell as he held on to the stone railings.

"Cool." Despite himself Naruto could help being amazing like the corridor he had just left the walls here to were covered in moving portraits, but not only that some of the staircase were also moving on there own. "Okay this is a castle there has to be a front door." Naruto reasoned with himself as he started to take the staircase down. Despite his injuries he was making excellent time having already made it down three floors. When suddenly the staircase he was on started to move.

"Great now what."Naruto said to himself and he looked around and saw that the staircase he was on was turning left and was about to join a landing that led into another corridor and would no longer take him directly down. Seeing that the staircase he needed to be on wasn't that far off Naruto gathered some chakra and left into the air to jump the distance.

"Aaaawwww!" Naruto's scream echoed as he fell mid jump. He should have been easily able to make that jump with a small amount of chakra he had channeled into his legs. At least that's what was supposed to happen but instead his chakra never came and he plummeted straight down passing two floors along the way.

"Shadow clone jutsu!" Naruto had shouted as he brought his hands together to form the cross seal and an attempt to try to create enough clones and make a human chain. But with no copies of himself appeared he knew then he couldn't use his chakra for some reason.

"Damn it! Aaahhhhh!"! Naruto cried out as he was unable to grab a hold of any of the staircases Stone railings. It was mere feet from smashing into the ground floor. With only a few inches left he did the only thing he could and threw his hands forward in an attempt to shield himself from the coming pain.

He closes eyes and brace himself but the pain never came. So tentatively he opened one eye and saw that he had somehow stopped an inch from the ground and was just floating there. "I'm alive? I'M ALIVE, oooff. . . Ouch."Naruto celebration had been cut short when gravity returned and he dropped that one inch and smashed his nose against the stone floor. Taking a moment to nurse his aching nose Naruto stood up and started heading down the corridor that led away from the staircases.

Like before the walls were decorated with different portraits of men and women or landscapes dressed in various different types of clothing talking amongst themselves. The newest addition now was every few meters or so there was suits of armor. As well as some wooden doors rhat most likely opened up into a room or another corridor. As he continued to walk Naruto could have sworn he saw one or two of the suits of armor turn their heads in his direction.

"Yes! I found it." Naruto said happily when halfway down the corridor he had found himself standing at the top of a magnificent marble staircase. Their on the opposite side of the room was a set of large wooden double doors. The entrance hall was so big Naruto wondered if a whole house could fit inside it with little to no effort. Looking around he saw that the stone walls were lit with flaming torches in brackets, the ceiling was too high to make out. He also noticed several doors the ground floor that where set all along the sides of the wall. The most noticeable of these doors were another set of large wooden double doors, much like the one's right across the marble staircase.

"Which one get me out of this place?" Naruto wondered to himself before deciding to try the ones closes to him. Walking up to the doors Naruto pushed it open and stepped inside the next room.

This new large room was unlit by thousands and thousands of candles that were floating in midair over four long tables. At the top of the hall was another long table looked upward Naruto saw a sky-blue ceiling dotted with several large fluffy white clouds drifting along. It was hard to believe there was a ceiling there at all, and that it didn't simply open on to the heaven. Amazed Naruto moved in the hall, walking along the long tables. At the very end he saw at the center of the head table in front of a large ornate purple chair, was a dinning set of gold and silver all laid out. once he was finally standing directly in front of it, something amazing happened.

"Wow!" Naruto yelled out in astonishment as the most mouthwatering looking food appeared out of thin air. Naruto's mouth fell open, the dishes in front of him were now piled with food. He had neve seen so many things he liked to eat on one table: roast beef, roast chicken, pork chops and lamb shops, sausage, bacon and steak, boiled potato, roast potatoes, fries, peas, carrots, and much more. Having never really been allowed to anything that wasn't ramen as much as he loved it he couldn't deny that all the food in front of him looked delicious. Momentarily forgetting he was trying to leave the castle he quickly ran around the table and took a seat inside the large comfy chair. Naruto piled an empty plate in front of him with a bit of everything except the vegetables and began to eat. It was all delicious and there he sat for some time just enjoying the free food.

"That does look good," said an amused voice from behind Naruto, this caused him to jump up in shock at the sudden appearance of another person. His ninja instincts kicking in Naruto reached out and grabbed the steak knife that have been on the table and brought it up ready to defend himself against whoever had interrupted his meal. Looking round Naruto saw a tall elderly man dressed in purple robes, he wore half-moon glassed, had a long-crooked nose and flowing silver hair, beard and mustache did reach down to his waist.

"I'm quite sorry, I was not my intention to give you such a fright." Said the old man calmly his hands raced up in a gesture of surrender as he looked down at Naruto, who was now coughing up a piece of chicken he had been eating.

"Hey, who are you?" Naruto asked as he looked up at the old man.

"My name is Albus Dumbledore, Current headmaster of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, and who might I ask are you." Asked Dumbledore as he looked down at the blond teen. He pulled out a chair, took a seat next to Naruto and stated to serve himself food. His name wasn't the only thing that was funny about him, thought Naruto as he got a better look at what old man had on. Then something started to dawn on Naruto, this old man whoever he was must live in the castle.

"I'm Naruto, Naruto Uzumaki listen double-door can you tell me har far I'm from the hidden leaf village." Naruto asked hoping this man could give him some answers. However at his question a look of pity and understand passed over Dumbledore's face.

"I am afraid this castle is hidden away in the countryside England. There is no hidden leaf village anywhere in the world to my knowledge ." Said Dumbledore in a calm voice as he pulled out his wand and conjured a globe of the world. Naruto was so stunned by this statement that he failed to notice the magic wand or the fact that something suddenly appeared in front of him.

"W-what?" Naruto said as he brought a shacking hand up an touching the globe he started to turn it unable to recognize anything. This caused him to fall back in to his chair like a sack of potatoes.

"Tell me Naruto, how is it that you found yourself in my school." Dumbledore asked politely as he continued to watch the blonde teen.

"I-I was on a mission with my teem an then. . ." And with that Naruto began to tell the story of his team's mission to protect the bridge builder, they're run in with the Demon Brothers and Zabuza, the week of training and preparation, and the final battle on the bridge. The story came to an end with him waking up in his bed earlier that day inside the castle. Naruto was grateful that he had not cried when he talked about watching Sasuke die. Although he did have to take a moment to swallow a shaky breath to steady himself before continuing. The entirety time Naruto talked Dumbledore sat there politely with his fingers crossed as he looked down his half-moon glasses.

"You seem to have been though a great deal in a short amount of time, Naruto." Said Dumbledore sadly now looking much older then when Naruto had started. in many ways the agent headmaster happened reminded of young Harry Potter and the difficulties he had faced in his life so far.

"Yeah, well... I mean I'm used to it. Anyway besides it just shows how awesome I am." Naruto said as he tried to gave Dumbledore a bright smile. Unfortunately the headmaster have been able to clearly see the young teens smile had failed to fully reach his eyes showing the telltale sign that it was a facade. "What I'm I going to do now?" Naruto had said to himself silently but Dumbledore had heard what he said.

"Naruto may I see your hands for a moment." Dumbledore asked as he moved up in his seat, and taking a closer look at the teens hand he inspected them for a moment.

"Could you try to gather some of your chakra to your hands?" asked. Nodding Naruto did as he was told and after a moment Dumbledore finally spoke.

"Well, I may not fully understand this chakra you spoke of, but from what I can tell you my dear young man seem to have an inner magical essence. "At Naruto's confused face Dumbledore gave a light chuckle before elaborating. "You see Naruto, Hogwarts School among its many safeguards is protected by special wards to prevent any non-magical people from stepping foot in it's borders. The fact that you did not immediately remember you needed to be somewhere else, and from your apparent levitation at your fall down the staircases believe your world's chakra equivalents the inner magic of a witch or wizard."

"So when I almost fell and started floating it wasn't your school doing it. It was me making magic happen." Any sadness and uncertainty Naruto had been feeling moments ago suddenly by wonder and joy.

"So, for the time being till the mystery of returning you to your world becomes clear, I would like to offer a place at this my school if your willing that is." Dumbledore said kindly as he let go of the Naruto's hands. Standing up he pulling out is wand from within his robes once more and giving it a small wave everything on the table vanished.

"Wait so you believe me. Why? No one ever believes me." Naruto was surprised at how Dumbledore had listened to everything he said in and was now offering to help him.

"My dear young man when I found you last week bleeding all over the front door of my school with that hole in your chest already closing on its own. I had my own theory's about who you where your story just filled in the missing pieces." Dumbledore simple. "And besides you have not given me any reason not to trust you." That these words Naruto gave to old wizard a true smile.

"Alright old man lets go." Naruto shouted out happily as he hopped out of his chair.

"Excellent, let us head to my office there is work to be done if you are to attend Hogwarts this coming term." Dumbledore said as he and Naruto left the Great Hall, and up the marble staircase. Much like before he was amazed by everything he was seeing around the castle. Dumbledore had led him through a few doorways hidden behind sliding panels and hanging tapestries. They climbed more staircases, Naruto wondered how much farther they had to go when they come to a sudden halt. Looking past Dumbledore he saw that they were now standing halfway down an empty corridor in front of a stone large stone gargoyle.

"Acid Pop!" said Dumbledore at this the gargoyle sprang suddenly to life and hopped aside as the wall behind him slit in two. Behind the wall was a spiral staircase that was moving smoothly upwards.

"Awesome." Naruto said as he followed Dumbledore up the staircase. They walked upward in a circle, higher and higher, until at last, slightly dizzy, Naruto saw a gleaming oak door ahead, with a brass knocker in the shape of a griffon.

Dumbledore opened the door and stepped inside his office. Right behind him Naruto was amazed with what he was seeing. It was a large and beautiful circular room, full of funny little noises. Several curious silver instruments stood on spindle-legged tables, whirring and emitting little puffs of smoke. The walls were covered with portraits of old headmasters and headmistresses, all of whom were snoozing gently in their frames. There was also an enormous, claw-footed desk, and sitting on a shelf behind it was a shabby, tainted wizard's hat. Taking a seat behind the large desk Dumbledore offered for Naruto to do the same.

"So, Naruto, if are plaining to make you a Hogwarts student than I believe we should learn what your house will in." Dumbledore said as he pulled the wizard's hat form off the shelf and placed it on the desk in front of Naruto.

"What house?" Naruto asked not understanding what Dumbledore was saying.

"You see Naruto Hogwarts is made up of four School houses each one named after one of the schools for founding members. Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. The four Houses each has its own noble history, and each has produced outstanding witches and wizards." Naruto listened with rap detention at dumbledore's explanation his eyes as big as saucers.

"So how do I know which house I belong to so I get to pick?"Naruto asked wondering what the what the four houses were like who else was in them and if he would fit in with his house and make friends.

"Unfortunately it is not up to the students to pick their own individual houses. I will place the Sorting heat on your head and you will be sorted in to your Hogwarts house." Dumbledore said as he motion to the beat up patchwork raggedy hat. Naruto let out a low whistle as he saw the magical hat in a new light

"Now it is important to remember Naruto that while you are here, your house will be something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory, and spend free time in your house common room. While you are at Hogwarts your triumphs will earn you house point, while any rule breaking will lose house points at the end of the year the house with the most points is awarded the house cup, a great honor, are you ready." Asked Dumbledore as he waited for Naruto to give him a nod before he placed the sorting hat over his head.

"Ok, you got this thing in the bag." Naruto said quietly to himself as he looked around the dark inside of the old heat wondering what was going to happen next.

"hmm, difficult very difficult." Said a voice in Naruto's ear.

A.N.first of all I want to say that I am still working on my other stories. I am halfway done with the next chapters of Naruto Uzumaki space mercenary and my name is Naruto Wayne and I am the Batman. as well as the next chapter in my Naruto avengers story. so expect those soon and I thank you for your patience.once those three stories have five chapters each I will release the sixth chapter in Naruto Rockbell alchemist of Amestris. it is my goal to have all the stories have their chapters released all at once at the same time.I have yet to decide if all my old stories will get a revisioned re-release but for sure my Naruto / Harry Potter story is one of them.hope you enjoyed this chapter and liked the changes don't know what else I will keep the same or will change from the original version I am open to any suggestions so feel free to comment or PM with any of your questions or ideas.
