When he was left on Reach, alone to die, Sergeant Richard Cameron expresses his final thoughts, his last wishes. The emotional, tear-jerking poem from the hands of a Marine's last words when he knows that he's about to die and accepts his fate, with a smile on his face. Oneshot.

A/N:

Basically this is a poem I wrote when I was little and when I first started playing Halo.

It's told from the perspective of a UNSC Marine trooper, so enjoy!

Through preservance, comes victory;

In unity, we achieve peace;

Thus soar up high to the unknown;

Forward, Unto Dawn...

So starts humanity's next age;

And so start our life's next chapter;

Soaring up high into unknown;

From Earth, For Earth...

From inspiration, comes the man;

And from the man, comes the soldier;

From the soldier comes generals;

From generals, comes warriors...

From warriors, comes willpower;

And from willpower, comes action;

And from action, comes the hero;

From heroes, comes legends...

Farewell, Mother, Father, Brother;

Farewell, Sisters, Comrades, and friends;

I give my life for my homeworld;

I die, with purpose...

Now I've got nothing to regret;

As I know that I've done my best;

Farewell to all who's waiting me;
