A Preamble
Hello! This is deepcauldron! Now I know some people may be waiting for Strange Tidings and I AM continuing it despite the length of waiting (I've sort out my adult life a bit and I'm back into it after a few things caused some lengthy writer's block.)
But I'm here to announce a new project. Now don't be mistaken, this project is not going to take priority over Strange Tidings, quite the opposite really. But I decided that I should at least let you guys know what I have in mind and I want YOU guys to have some say on it.
As you can see, I'm writing a short story compilation for Splatoon X Monster Hunter. I've taken interest in Monster Hunter since 2007 and managed to finally get my hands on the original and tri sometime in the early 2010s and loved it. I love dragons and Monster Hunter goes into their creatures, serpentine or otherwise biologically which is something I really love.
Well just before Iceborne hit, I had the idea for a Splatoon Crossover. I still want to write Strange Tidings however. So here is the compromise for now: A compilation of short stories that prelude the main crossover fic up until I can get to writing it. Monster Hunter is quite the diverse game, Splatoon is a colorful and wonderful game and I think I can write about their similarities in a way that can harmonize both of them.
The first chapter will come out soon, but to give you guys something to think on. I'd like YOU guys to think of monsters you might want to see in these short stories and talk to me in DMs (preferably). If you are familiar with Monster Hunter's ecology just send me a monster to weave into these stories.
Now, you guys don't have to. I have plenty of ideas on what I want, and I can think up some lovely scenarios for things to go down. But I figure I'd do something like this so I can see who's interested in the idea at first while I work on my main writing project.
