The last year, has been hard for the kovac family, as Anthony Kovac the husband of Luka Kovac had been reassigned to chicago from Washington D. and luka have know each other since they were kids, they started dating 20 years ago when they were 17 years of have been married for 15 years at this Dinozzo joined the marines at 18 years old it was tough at times for the couple as you would expect, but they made it through it together just like they did when luka went to medical school they could get through anything as long as they are together just like they always have 2 wonderful children, Flynn who is 7, Caitlen who is. Luka started working at the county general hospital in ER this last year, i got 3 wonderful and amazing months to settle in our new home and town, that was lovely time i got to spend with my family my favorite people in this whole i got my new orders a six month deployment in Afghanistan. My deployment time got surpassed for an undetermined amount of the time my deployment was up I had been gone for 9 months and as a result I missed my son's 8th birthday which I hate but I am so lucky my family understands,especially my son and I am extremely grateful.
I pull up to the ER where Luka works,I get out of the cab I am wearing my Bdu/s on and my rucksack. As I walked into the ER the nurses and doctors started to look at me and start to whisper as I looked around for Luka, I spotted him doing charts at the desk. I walk up to him and say "Luka" he looks up and when he notices me and he immediately drops the chats he was working on and rushes around the desk to get to me. I take a step back and drop my pack as he throws his arms around me as I reciprocate pulling him into a tight embrace. I pull back and look at him and say "i've missed you so goddamn much luka" with a grin. He instantly, replies by saying "i've missed you so so much babe, so have the kids." With a watery smile " i've missed the little munchkins to so so much, where are they babe?" i ask "upstairs at the hospital daycare we can get them and surprise them in a bit but let me introduce you to my friends and colleagues." "ok babe." I replied as we faced everyone for the first time and their faces were a sea of confused,happy,emotional. Luka wraps his arm around my waist and says "guy's this is anthony kovac my husband." Gasps were hears and i couldn't help but chuckle and kiss luka's before i can say anything i see captain gallant stop at attention and salute me i let go of luka, and return the salute and say "At ease captain." He eases and i step forward to embrace him and as him " how have you been gallant?" then he replies with " Good lieutenant colonel, Sir." with a grin "I see you have risen the ranks since I last saw you Sir." I replied with a smirk. " Yes captain, i have also just been informed that i will be a full fledged colonel this time next month!" Everyone gasps except for the captain and luka who just wraps his arms around me and kisses me with gusto,as we pull back and he says "congratulations babe! Am so proud of you, the kids are going to be so excited for you and to go to another ceremony, you know how much they like you in your dress blues babe." I reply with a sexy smirk "yes I know but if I remember the last time I wore them you loved me in them but you also really loved getting me out…." he covers my mouth with his hand and blushes deeply, as the woman in the area giggle.
Luka asked one of the nurses to go and fetch the kids from the hospital daycare, then all of a sudden two bundles of energy glide off the elevator. The kids spot me and dart towards me. "Papaaaaa!" the two bundles of joy cream as i simile like a mad man as i crouch down to catch my munchkins. Flynn and Caitlen cling to me as i cling too as i start to sob. Flynn pulls back and wipes my happy tears away as i give him a watery smile. Flynn asks with tears in his eyes "mission complete papa?" Everyone catches the slight hint of hope in his little voice."Yes bud, mission success." I answer with glee as I smile at the kids excited grins. "Oorah!" The kids scream in unison. Me,luka,captain gallant chuckle as the bystanders look on in awe and confusion. "Guess what kiddo's?" i ask "what papa?" they respond "papa's getting a promotion." I state with enthusiasm. "Yayyy, Daddy our hero is home." They say with matching grins as i make eye contact with luka and we both smile, i winked at luka then he winks back. Yes I am home. I thought to myself with a megawatt smile.
