Sofia POV
Hi! I'm Princess Sofia! Life as a princess is so great. At first, I was unsure of my situation. I mean, be lost in the castle. Go to a new school. Have new friends. Have new family members. What if I make the wrong move? What if I disappoint someone? But that didn't happen much. I made friends with my stepsister Amber, kept in touch with my old friends, made awesome new friends at Royal Prep, and even defeated an evil witch that took over our kingdom.
Now I'm 16, and I'm a student at EverRealm Academy. I fit in at Royal Prep, but I can't fit in at the EverRealm Academy. The standards are higher. I'm expected to wear tight ball gowns all day long, high heel shoes, sit straight, have perfect manners, and once in a while I fall on my face.
But I'm not complaining. Amber chose that school for me, and it's not like I had a choice at the school fair. Now I'm thinking I like sports. I want to be free like a bird ice dancing, playing Dazzleball in the mud, doing flying derby. No rules, no expectations, no manners.
But how am I supposed to tell Amber? This will crush her. She loves going to school with me. Ugh, why does life has to be so complicated?
I am snuggling in my bed, comfortable. I am thinking about this, when suddenly I hear a knock at the door and familiar voice say:
"Sofia! It's time for school! Come on, sleepy head! You don't want to be late!"
And now she's gone. Ugh, I get up so frustrated. How am I ever gonna tell her?
I woke up. Clover came as usual. "Hiya, princess! Why the long face?"
"Oh, Clover. I'm thinking about transferring schools. But, I don't want to sound ungrateful, or upset Amber."
"Ah, cheer up, Sof. I know what it's like to do a hard choice."
"You do?"
"Once, Stu wanted me to taste his carrots. But I didn't like them, I liked mine better."
"What did you do?"
"I told him nicely the truth. And he understood. He was hurt a little, but the moment passed. What's important is to listen to your heart when making decisions, not to someone else!"
"You're right Clover. That's what I'm gonna do. " I patted him.
I dressed up in a simple white dress with snowflakes and placed a silver tiara on my head. Makes sense, since it was winter.
I rushed downstairs.
"Good morning, Princess Sofia" Baileywick greeted.
"Good morning Baileywick."
My parents and Amber greeted me as well. James' face was buried into the goldenberry pancakes. Same old James.
I sat down. I tensed up the moment I saw Amber happily talking to her parents about EverRealm.
I decided to just do it already.
"I have an announcement."
I said.
"Go on, Sofia, say it." Amber encouraged me. Oh, great.
"I decided to switch schools."
Amber dropped her fork.
"W-what?" she stuttered.
"You see, I'm not happy with EverRealm."
"That's alright, sweetie." my mom assured me. "Where do you want to go?"
"At CSS."
"Brilliant!" James beamed, popping his face from the pancakes.
"More like horrifying." Amber's face was a volcano.
"Sofia, James, see you in the coach."
She stomped away.
"Amber wait!" I shouted.
"Sofia, let her." my dad said. "She'll forget it."
"I hope so" I sighed.
"We'll be sure to talk to the principal of CSS. On Monday, you'll be the next student there."
We finished our breakfast quietly, and arrived at the coach. Amber was staying there, still mad.
"Amber, please don't be mad at me," I begged as the coach took off. "I need to make my choice, and you need to be ok with it."
"We'll talk later." she humphed.
The coach stopped first at Chivalry Hall. James was greeted by his friends: Prince Dylan, and Princess Sandy.
Prince Dylan was a tall boy with black hair and blue eyes. Him and James fist-bumped. Sandy was a girl with a blonde ponytail and green eyes. She immediately embraced James.
"Jay-Jay! So good to see you! I missed you so much!"
"Sandy, we saw each other yesterday!"
"Mm, I know. But I still missed you, dear!"
Is it just me, or Sandy thinks James as her boyfriend?
At EverRealm Academy, the coach stopped. Guess who greeted us?
"Amber, Sofia, over here!"
Princess Sylvia of Ronchester. She was a girl with brown hair in a bun with freckles and green dress.
We hugged each other. We are besties at EverRealm. We entered the school. We met with our other friends, Princess Sandra of Trufflandia and Princess Camelia of Galdiz. Sandra was a girl with blonde hair in a bun and pink dress. Princess Camelia had tan skin, black hair in a bun and a yellow wavy dress.
"So, how are you doing, girls?"
"I'm fine. Unfortunately, Sofia here made a horrible decision!" Amber huffed.
The girls gasped in shock.
They thought of something else.
"Whoa, what's the commotion?" a chirpy voice interrupted us.
We turned to see our friends, Princess Andrea of Paslaptis and Princess Victoria of Victoria Island.
Princess Andrea had short ginger hair and green dress. Her kingdom is well known to be mysterious and magical.
Princess Victoria had her red hair in a ponytail and purple clothes. She had blue eyes and freckles. She loved red like Elena and purple like me. In fact, her and me have many things in common. She's adventurous and kind like me, and she's a protector like me. In fact I'm her trainer. Sometimes when I'm hurt or busy, she would step in for me at the Secret Library. She knows all my secrets and I know all her secrets as well. We're more like sisters.
"Sofia wants to transfer at CSS. " Amber stomped.
The girls sighed in relief. "Oh, thank goodness. It's just you being you, over dramatic. I thought she did something bad!"
"Bad? Of course this is bad!" Amber fretted. "How can you be so calm? She's leaving us, all of us. Some friend she is.
"I think it's awesome that Sofia wants to leave at CSS. Let her follow her dreams." Tori said.
"But she'll leave you, Tori. The one you need her most."
"Amber, relax. We can still hang out in the weekends. She's not leaving us. As for my training, she can always train me. Leaving our school doesn't change that."
Amber looked to see if someone agrees with her, but all girls sticked with me. Amber huffed and marched away.
