I loved Star Wars: Episode 7: The Force Awakens, unfortunately it's sequels could never measure up and gave the sequel trilogy a bad name. I want to rewrite the last 2 episodes of the sequel trilogy to better fit the narrative they were going for in the 7th movie. I also want to tie it in with other expanded forms of media as well. I hope you enjoy.

STAR
WARS
EPISODE VIII
THE REBUILT ORDER
The fight for freedom goes on in the Galaxy between the vicious FIRST ORDER and the freedom fighting RESISTANCE.
After destroying Starkiller Base, the Resistance fighters regrouped to their base, only to find it destroyed and their General, Leia Organa, captured.
Now the Resistance builds up what is left of their forces to mount a daring rescue mission to free their General from the ancient prison, the Citadel.
Elsewhere in the Galaxy, Rey finds Jedi Master Luke Skywalker from his hiding place on Ach-To and plans to convince him to rejoin the fight...
Rey looks up at the Jedi Master, him gazing for what felt like an eternity at the sight of his father's lightsaber. He remembered it, the first he ever wielded. How he lost it on Bespin during a duel between him and his father. How did this...stranger find it?
"W-Who are you?"
Luke said in a raspy tone. The young woman looked up at him.
"I am Rey, your sister sent me here. It's...it's not good."
"Yes." Luke said , rubbing his beard. "I felt the deaths of millions. It's like...Alderaan all over again."
"Then why didn't you rejoin the second you felt their deaths?!"
Luke stared, the ancient gaze filled with experience piercing through her.
"I had to rebuild."
"Rebuild? Rebuild what?"
"The Order."
He took his father's lightsaber and put it to his belt. Then motioned her to follow.
Elsewhere, Leia was suspended by force blocking restraints. She looked at the scarred husk that was her son staring back at her.
"Where is the scavenger girl?"
She did not respond, she simply looked at him in...disappointment. Kylo could feel it, a part of him ached at the feeling. A part of him that was supposed to be dead.
"I said.." he said pulling out his lightsaber in a threatening manner.
"Where is she!?"
She did not reply to the question. Kylo angrily turned back to the exit and began to walk away.
"Why, Ben?" Leia asked in a sorrowful tone.
Kylo turned back to her, anger in his eyes behind his mask.
"Ben Solo is dead. I killed him when I killed Han Solo."
With that he turned and walked out of the room. His anger seethed, were he trained as Sith...He was stopped by Mitaka.
"Su-Supreme Leader Snoke wishes to communicate with you, sir."
Kylo did not say anything, he turned and walked back to his quarters. When he entered, he stepped on a pressure bottom and bowed. The room darkened and blue holo-figure lit up the room. The grotesque visage of Snoke appeared.
"Has she revealed to you the scavenger's location?"
"No, Supreme Leader, she is still clinging to the hope that Ben Solo is alive."
"Perhaps she is right."
Kylo raised his head.
"When you raided the Reistance base, you hesitated to kill her. You still love her. Ben Solo is still alive."
"I will kill her, and end Ben Solo once and for all."
"No, she is useful, for now. But perhaps I need to purge Ben myself. Report to Mustafar at once, your training begins."
"Yes, Supreme Leader."
The holo fades as Ben rises. Finally, he thought to himself.
