Just something I wanted to let out and is inspired by 'Taking care of a traitor' by Aragorn II Elessar.
Disclaimer: I do not own Buffyverse.
Dawn was walking down the corridor, when she heard Giles's voice coming from his office, which was odd as she narrowed her eyes. She had just talked with Giles a moment ago in the library. She took a peek and noticed Andrew talking on the phone with someone and mimicking Giles's accent.
"I'm sorry, Angel, Willow can't help you, she is in Himalayas, using astral projection. Let me put you on hold, I will see what I can do." Andrew said, using a rather convincing English accent as Dawn narrowed her eyes before she saw him pull out an amulet and a glamour of three animal heads appeared of a wolf, ram and hart as her eyes widened, realizing who they were. The Senior Partners. Dawn covered her mouth to muffle her breaths, trying not to alert Andrew or the Senior Partners to her presence.
"He wants the witch's help with Illyria." Andrew said.
"Angel needs to be separated from his allies, permanently." The Wolf said.
"Do whatever you must to make Angel turn away from them." The Ram said.
"The Slayers cannot be allowed to help him. Let Illyria roam around in Winifred Burkle's body." The Hart said and Dawn felt a chill go down her spine as the voices of the Senior Partners echoed through the room before the Senior Partners vanished.
"Angel, are you still at Wolfram & Hart?" Andrew asked, again mimicking Giles's accent. "Then I'm sorry, but then we're not going to help you. If you're with them, then you cannot be trusted."
He hung up and smiled happily before Dawn ran off, sneaking away, rushing into Giles's room as he was reading a book before he looked at her, noticing how upset she was.
"Is everything alright, Dawn?" Giles asked.
"It's Andrew. It's bad. Really bad." Dawn said.
Andrew was walking out from Giles's office, smiling before facing Faith and Xander.
"Going somewhere, Andrew?" Faith asked.
"Just out for some air." Andrew said, rather lamely.
"Who were you talking to?" Xander asked.
"No one. Just practicing Giles's accent." Andrew said nervously but they saw through him.
"And pranking Angel? Like when you put words into my mouth and telling Angel that I didn't trust him anymore? I'd be wary of him but at least I'd give him a benefit of the doubt but you took things too far and I'm sure Angel would like for you to explain yourself." Buffy said as she showed up and the phrase 'if looks could kill' came to mind and Andrew paled, feeling himself shrink but before he could do anything else, the last thing he saw was Faith's fist nearing his face as the world turned black.
When Buffy and Faith entered the temple, they saw Illyria effortlessly dodging as Angel and Spike were swinging their swords but were unable to cut her, while she threw them both like ragdolls and dodged as Wesley opened fire from his pistols, as if she was dancing before she kicked Knox's corpse towards Wesley, knocking him down.
"Hey! Blue eyes!" Faith yelled as Illyria turned her attention to Faith and Buffy, who gave a glance towards Knox and shuddered.
"The Slayers." Illyria said as Buffy and Faith engaged her, with Angel and Spike looking at both girls, surprised they had come to help but it didn't matter, since just like with Angel and Spike, Illyria just dodged with no effort to avoid their blows before she grabbed Buffy's arm and Faith's leg. She then threw Buffy towards Spike and Faith towards Angel, knocking them all down on the floor. "Unimpressive." She said indifferently.
Wesley brandished his guns as Illyria did a gesture, slowing down time and things seemed to be going in slow motion as they were all getting up on their feet, while Angel reached inside his jacket and when Illyria turned around, she noticed Angel standing in front of her, seeming to be unaffected by the time slowed down.
"What's the rush?" Angel quipped before punching her in the face as Illyria rolled down the floor, causing for the time to go normal again.
Illyria recovered, looking in confusion at Angel, who neared her. "How?" She asked.
Angel pulled a gem out of his pocket. "From your sarcophagus. It's connected to you. I'm connected to it."
"Sneaky." Illyria said before kicking Angel in the leg as Angel fell down.
Spike, Buffy and Faith rushed at her but she dodged their blows and knocked them down before approaching the middle of the room and opening a portal, while Wesley fired from his guns and then jumped in through the portal before it closed.
"Did we just lose?" Spike asked in shock.
Angel, Spike, Buffy and Faith stared and waited… and waited… but no army of demons. They wondered what was going on before Wesley went out from the portal a few moments later, looking broken.
"What happened? Where's the army? Where's Illyria?" Angel asked.
Wesley looked conflicted, uncertain. Illyria's army was gone but they needed to find her, since she was still a viable threat. "Gone." He then turned to Buffy and Faith. "I thought you were done with us."
"No. We've been played. All of us." Buffy said.
They met in Hyperion Hotel and the place was painted with symbols, protective wards against the Senior Partners, when they put a man with a bag on his head on a chair.
Harmony pulled the bag out of Andrew's head, with his face bloodied and bruised before she smacked him on his face. "That's for talking back to me!"
Andrew looked confused as he was surrounded by Angel, Wesley, Gunn, Spike, Buffy, Willow, Xander, Dawn, Faith and Giles.
"Hey, guys. What's going—"
Next thing Andrew knew, Buffy punched him in the face as Andrew almost fell off from the chair.
"You son of a bitch!" Buffy snarled. "First you dare to put words in my mouth and tell Angel I didn't trust him anymore, which was untrue and now Fred?"
Andrew paled but tried to play dumb. "Buffy, I don't know what—"
"Save it. We know everything." Xander sneered as he grabbed Andrew and made him sit down before punching him as well. "We should've known better with you, you bastard."
"Easy. There'll be enough time for beatdown later." Spike said as he pulled Xander away and Xander calmed down.
"What's going on?" Andrew asked, still playing dumb.
"I saw you talking with Angel on the phone and mimicking Giles's accent. You'd convinced him that Giles had left him on his own with the rise of the Old One and let Fred die in the process." Dawn said and Andrew was near to wetting his pants, knowing there was no way he could weasel out of it.
"As much as I dislike Angel and Spike, I wouldn't ignore the threat of the Old One, nor would I leave an innocent life, such as Winifred Burkle's in danger." Giles said.
"And we know that you've been working with the Senior Partners as well, the nibblet saw you. How long, I wonder?" Spike added.
"Clearly enough to put a wedge between me and the Scooby Gang." Angel said and Andrew paled, feeling his heart hit the floor, realizing he was done.
"Give us one good reason, why we shouldn't kill you." Gunn said.
"There isn't one." Wesley sneered, reaching for his knife.
"Oh, come on… we're friends, aren't—" Andrew started, trying to say anything to save his own skin.
"You're begging for your life?" Wesley asked angrily as he neared Andrew, who could feel himself shrink. "Do you know how much Fred begged for her life, when she was dying? And did your friend Jonathan beg, when you killed him because of the First?"
"You know what it's like, to feel your insides burn? Your organs liquefying? Because trust me, we're gonna make sure that you're going to feel exactly what she felt, when she died." Gunn growled, grabbing Andrew by his jacket. Andrew turned to the Scooby Gang with begging look but all he received was an unforgiving cold stare.
"I don't advocate killing humans, but you're less than human. You're a monster. I'd let Warren, the Trio and Katrina slide and I was willing to give you a chance with the First but you've wasted it. No amount of begging is going to help you this time." Buffy said indifferently. While the Scooby Gang was uncomfortable with killing and torturing humans as well, what they had seen in the past eight years and knowing what Angel and his friends had been through in L.A., when dealing with Wolfram & Hart and the corrupt justice system, they had no qualms with killing humans either, if necessary.
"I wondered whether I don't like you because you look like one of my minions, who talked back to me but now I know it's more." Harmony said in disgust.
"You or me?" Spike asked, turning to Angel.
Angel turned to Wesley and Gunn. Both of them cared about Fred the most, so if anyone had the right to punish Andrew the most, it was them.
"He's all yours." Angel said before he, Spike, Buffy, Willow, Dawn, Faith, Xander, Harmony and Giles left the hotel, while Gunn picked a hammer from a nearby counter, while Wesley pulled out a knife as they neared Andrew.
"No, no, no, please, no—aaaaaaggggggghhhhhh!" Andrew screamed as they heard sound of metal piercing flesh, blood spilling and a bone-crushing noise before Angel closed the door. While Buffy, Dawn and Xander shuddered from hearing the screams, none of them had any sympathies for Andrew.
The moment, where Illyria finds out her army is gone, ends up pretty much the same.
Giles really pissed me off, when he conspired with Robin to kill Spike. Before Season 7, I might have understood, but Spike had a soul and yeah, he could have been easily manipulated by the First Evil, but it's nothing the Scoobies and the Potentials couldn't have handled and there were a lot of ways to contain Spike without killing him and Giles's attempt at killing Spike goes against his 'for the greater good' mentality, as shown when he killed Ben/Glory, when Buffy wouldn't finish the job and killing Spike also makes him a hypocrite, if you consider that Giles had asked for Spike's help, when Ethan Rayne had turned him into a Fyarl demon.
As for Angel Season 5, where Giles refused to help Angel with Illyria and let Fred die, well, that might be because of unavailability of Anthony Head at the time, since the writers originally planned to have Giles instead of Drogyn in 5x15, where he would tell Angel and Spike that there was nothing they could do to save Fred, but the writers just turned Giles into a self-righteous hypocrite, when he placed his own ego over saving Fred's life, when he refused to help Angel and ignored the rise of the Old One and the only reason it didn't blow up in their faces is because Illyria's army was gone and Giles was lucky Angel, Spike, Wesley or Gunn didn't kill him for it. And I frankly never bought Andrew's claim that the Scoobies didn't trust Angel anymore because of W&H, at least Buffy and Willow would give Angel a benefit of the doubt, while I wouldn't be surprised if Xander and Giles had turned their backs on Angel, they wouldn't ignore the rise of the Old One or saving Fred's life. And Andrew's 'redemption', I never fully bought it either, since, while he had his uses in Season 7 of BTVS and later, he was still an annoying weasel, who liked to make himself more than he actually was, which was a spineless power-hungry coward.
So, as shown in Aragorn II Elessar's one-shot, 'Taking care of a traitor', it wouldn't be surprising if Andrew had been working with the Senior Partners to put a wedge between Angel and the Scooby Gang.
And I went back and forth between who should give Andrew his, and given what Wesley did to Gunn for his indirect role in Fred's death, only felt fitting to have him give Andrew what he deserves. And I know Gunn was stabbed and on a stretcher but felt fitting to let him give Andrew his as well.
Also, I just HAD to have Buffy react to Knox and Harmony to Andrew, *smirks*.
As for Willow not resurrecting Fred right away, well, maybe there could be a way but it's unlikely that she would find it immediately, that's just my opinion though.
I know Buffy and the Scoobies usually don't advocate killing humans but where has that almost gotten them? It was time for them to get realistic.
And if anyone tries to defend Andrew or say they like him or anything like that, to be blunt, I don't give a damn about what you say.
Please review and let me know if you have enjoyed this one-shot.
