Chapter 1:Over the years

"What the hell is going on"

These were the current thoughts of a blond, fair-skinned woman garbed in a green haori with kanji for gamble on the back. Underneath she wore a gray kimono-style blouse with no sleeves held close by a dark blue obi that matched her pants with open-toed strappy black sandals with high heels. Finished off with a soft pink lipstick.

This is Tsunade Senju, the current godaime of the village hidden in the leaves. Sitted behind her office desk with a small 9 by 6 book gripped tightly in her small fists.

This had arrived on her desk first thing in the morning. Brought in by a chunin who felt there was a need for her to be informed by these latest developments.

Normally as the hokage she was not supposed to concern herself with these kinds of issues but as she sat in her office that morning she couldn't help but feel a sense of dread wash over her as she stared at the latest update of the bingo book.

Tsunade couldn't believe what she was reading. There was no way something like this could be true. She refused to believe that Uzumaki Naruto himself was capable of what was detailed in this book. Had someone told her of this she would have laughed right in his/her face before committing them to a mental institution, but the truth was right in front of her.

"Sigh it's just one thing after another."

Just seven years ago Uzumaki Naruto was banished from Konoha right after the successful retrival of Uchiha Sasuke. Although the reasons for the banishment were sound, the motivation behind such an action were a bit suspicious not only to her but to Jiraiya as well.

It all pointed to Danzo Shimura as he is the only one capable of doing something like this but without evidence her claims were just that...claims.

"Though how did he manage to get the daimyo to agree with him?."

Is the question that has plagued her and Jiraiya but sadly could not come to an answer

There was nothing she could do about the fate of the boy at that time. So she resolved to cleaning up the mess left behind her sensei starting from day 1 after the kyuubi's attack Konoha. She succeeded mostly as somethings cannot be fixed, things like the Uchiha massacre and the Hyuuga incident and therefore resorted to try and curb the effects those incidents had left.

"Although it is quite strange how the daimyo changed his mind... accompanied with fact that there were no objections from those who lost their hold in the village during the 'transition'." she thought as she stood up with the book still clutched in her hands."That brat...after how much I fought for him to be returned home he goes and pulls something like this." setting the book down her eyes drifted to a folder with "CONFIDENTIAL" on the front cover.

'I have a bad feeling about this.' she stood up and walked over to the window that overlooked the whole of Konoha as an uncomfortable feeling settled in the bottom of her stomach. Something was coming and whether that spelt good for the village or not she hoped that they will be ready for it.

Walking towards the gate of the hidden leaf village was a trio returning home after another successful mission. While there was no conversation being held, there was no sign of discomfort indicating that this was what they were used to.

The first of the trio was a black haired teen with spiky hair that manage to appear neat with pale skin and black eyes. He was wearing a jonin uniform with a dark green flack jacket with a blue long-sleeved undershirt along with matching pants and open-toed sandals. This was Uchiha Sasuke the self-appointed avenger who seven years ago attempted to defect but was brought back. When he awoke from his resting and the strain of using the curse Mark he received the news that Uzumaki Naruto, the one who brought him back, was banished. Initially this did not move him at all as all he cared about was attaining power in order to kill his brother but over time certain things were pointed out to him that he failed to realise in his tunnel vision of his brother's death by his hand.

Walking next to him was another teenager though female with pink straight hair, green eyes and a diamond on her forehead. She was dressed in a red sleeveless shirt with a skirt slit at the sides to grant full mobility with biker shorts underneath. This was Sakura Haruno apprentice of the godaime hokage who upon receiving news about the blonde's banishment was overcome with feelings of sadness, regret and self-loathing as she felt that it was because of his promise to her that he got not only his dream destroyed but his career was also ruined. Although her friends managed to break her out of her state the feelings were still there just laying dormant in her hope that she will cross paths with him again and apologize to him.

"Although he is probably dead."she sighed sadly as her teammate glanced at her curiously but never received an answer.

The last one of the group was walking a little behind the other two. This was a male around his late twenties to ealy thirties with gravity-defying hair and a face mask that covered the bottom half of his face with a slanted headband that went over his left eye leaving one black eye exposed he was dressed in the same manner as the first teen. This is Kakashi Hatake the son of the white fang, student of the yellow flash, the copy ninja. While he was saddened at the fate of his sensei's son he knew that he would be protected through the shared summoning contract with his godfather. At least that was the plan as not more than four months of his banishment he somehow broke the contract, severing any possible contact with the village. Although there had been sightings of him indicating that he was still alive but that trail turned cold very quickly and about four and a half years ago he suddenly disappeared from the face of the Earth. He knew that his godfather was still searching for him with no success. This of course was kept secrets from everyone including his teammates however he knew it's only a matter of time before the rookie 9 were brought on board in the search as there is only so much Jiraiya could do.

He gazed at the pair in front and couldn't help but think feel proud at how they turned out. From a self-absorbed boy into a respected jonin and from a useless fangirl into a capable kunoichi.

"..ashi-sensei."

He looked at his female student.

"We are already here and are waiting for what we will be doing next."she continued once got his attention as she had seen him spacing out back. Over what? she didn't know as even after being his student for 7 years she still doesn't understand his quirks.

"Ahhh...I guess we should report to hokage-sama."he replied stroking his mask covered chin.

"Ahhh...r-right."

"Take the next two days off." he said as he walked towards the hokage tower prompting his students to follow him.

They entered the hokage's tower and made their way to the hokage's office where upon knocking on the door were granted permission to enter by Shizune's soft voice on the other side of the door. The moment they entered they noticed how clear the desk was of paperwork and mission statements which was rather odd because at this time of the day the influx of paperwork would be at its maximum though seeing those worried glances Shizune kept shooting at the female hokage who had her back towards the door overlooking the village with her forehead leaning against the window.

After a few moments Sakura decided to take the initiative of announcing their presents seeing as her teammate and sensei were not going to do it

"Tsunade-sama" she called out hesitantly.

The blonde hokage turned around and walked to her desk and took a sit awaiting their report.

"Team seven returning from duty." Kakashi took over from Sakura.

"I see,the mission was a success?"

"Hai hokage-sama" He responded as he walked over to place a scroll on her desk.

"Good you are dismissed report for duty in two days."she dismissed them as she went over their scroll.

"Hai hokage-sama"was their collective response as they left the tower.

It was night time in the village hidden in the leaves and we find Tsunade in her office going over some paperwork that arrived later that day.It was at this moment that a figure jumped into the open window. This did not startle the blonde hokage as she was used to her teammate's tendencies.

"You looking lovely on this night Tsunade-hime." he started off.

"Jiraiya" was her short greeting as she stopped what she was doing and turned to face her friend and teammate who like her didn't look his age.He was a tall, well built man. He had waist-length, spiky white hair that he ties back into a pony tail, with two shoulder-length bangs framing his face. There were red lines under his eyes which extended down his face and past his cheeks. He was wearing a green short kimono shirt and matching pants, under which he wore mesh armour that is visible at his wrists and ankles. He also wore hand guards, a black belt, traditional Japanese wooden sandals, and a red haori with two yellow circles on each side.He had a large on his back and a forehead protector with the kanji for oil.

He immediately knew that this was not the time for their usual banter and quickly adopted a serious expression.

"I take it you heard about..."he trailed off as he gazed at her.

"Yes, this complicates everything. After all the work I have done in cleaning up sensei's mess and trying to get him reinstated as a Konoha shinobi something like this shows up." she said in a tired voice feeling as if all the work she had done in the past 7 years in trying to get the the boy she viewed as a little brother back in the village was being washed down the drain.

"Hey we don't exactly know if what is stated is true so don't jump to conclusions all we need to do is find the brat and get him to tell us the truth..."he paused "although he has been laying low for the past 4 and a half years and shows up with a death threat over his head."

"You going to have to get to him before anyone else does Jiraiya." she said with a worried tone.

"Can't do Hime the Akastuki has been on the move recently if we want to find the brat you are going to have to assign a team to do that. Anyway how is 'that' coming along?" he finished off with a nod towards the folder on her desk.

"They are requesting a five kage summit." she responded.

He whistled "That serious huh?"

"We don't know what we are dealing with to begin with so it's best to prepare for anything." she leaned back on her desk.

"When's the summit?" he questioned folding his arms across his chest looking out the window at the village below.

She stood up and walked over to stand next to him. "A week from now. Things are about to change Jiraiya and the only worry that I have is whether we will be ready for it."

A figure can be seen moving through a thick foliage of trees judging by its physique it can be distinguished that it is a male of 5'8" with a thin yet lithe build with a full black attire.

The figure's movements were light and did not disturb the soil beneath his feet while this could come off as disturbing, the jolly whistle he was letting out said otherwise. Crimson red hair could be seen in the darkness of the forest and though most of his face could not be made out, three distinct whisker-like marks can be seen on either side of his cheeks. The figure's whistling stopped abruptly.

"They are finally on the move." he thought, though the tone sounded uncaring even as it occurred inside his own head. "Things are finally getting interesting." he murmured in a soft gentle voice as he slowly opened his eyes displaying two glowing orbs of ice with a purple ring surrounding the pupil, devoid of any emotions or any substance indicating that they belonged to a living human being.

"About time." he said as he let out a gentle chuckle and vanished into the darkness of the trees leaving behind an echo of his soft voice.
