Hot shot was a skilled young bot and had many of his father's and mother's skills. Today Heatwave was out and saw a car speeding around. Chase was after the speeding car. Heatwave followed him. "Driver pull over," Chase said.
The car pulled over. "Get out of the car I hope you have good explanation," Chase said.
"I can't get out of the car because I am the car," the car said.
"I know that voice Hightemp?" Heatwave asked transforming.
"Heatwave?' the car said and transformed. It was Hightemp. "I just escaped the aliens who took me captive and I decided to come to earth to see you again and I have something to tell you," she said.
"Is it we have son?" Heatwave said.
"How did you know?" she asked him.
"I will tell you the whole story come on," Heatwave said and along the way he told her everything.
"I can't wait to see my little Hot shot again," Hightemp said.
Once at the academy Hot shot came up when he heard the ground-bridge he saw Heatwave and Chase come through and a face he never thought he would see again.
"Mom?" Hot shot asked.
"Hot shot," Hightemp said and opened her arms which Hot shot jumped into. Hightemp kissed Hot shot's forehead several times. "I missed you so much," she said.
"I missed you too," Hot shot said.
"I have so much to tell you what had happened my son," Hightemp said.
"I have so much to tell you too," Hot shot told her.
Heatwave and Hightemp hugged each other and were happy to be reunited. The two were so happy now they can marry and raise young Hot shot together. "I can't wait till we are officially husband and wife," Heatwave said.
"I can't wait either this is very exciting," Hightemp said.
"Hot shot you have an important job in the wedding," Heatwave told him.
"I do?" Hot shot asked.
"Yes you will the ring bearer, which means you will carry the rings to the alter and give them the the best man who will give it to me," Heatwave told him.
"Sounds cool," Hot shot said.
"All the teachers and recruits will come to it," Heatwave said. "Even the folks of griffin rock will be there." He said.
The next morning Hot shot was up and wide awake. "Mom! Dad!" He said heading for their room. "Mom! Dad!" he said again.
"Your son is awake Hightemp," Heatwave said.
"Early in the morning Heatwave he's your son," Hightemp said.
Hot shot came in and jumped on the bed. "You two promised." Hot shot said.
"Okay, okay we're up," Heatwave said and woke up and stretched as did Hightemp.
Hot shot was plenty excited to go to the park with his parents together for the first time. They were at griffin rock park. "This planet is so beautiful," Hightemp said.
"It sure is," Heatwave agreed.
Hot shot was running around and having fun. Then a butterfly landed on his face. "Looks like our son made a friend," Hightemp said looking over at Hot shot with the butterfly on his nose.
"Yes butterflies are quite harmless and they are very beautiful," Heatwave said.
Then the butterfly flew away. Hot shot smiled as it flew away.
"Hot shot is a lot like you Hightemp in personality and looks," Heatwave said.
"Yes but he also has a lot of you in him too," Hightemp said.
Hot shot tripped over someone's football. "Oops," he said and picked up it wasn't damaged. "Sorry about that," he said handing it over.
"It's okay," the kid said. "Your not hurt are you?" he asked.
"No, I'm fine," Hot shot said. "More surprised than anything," he said.
"Okay," the kid said and left.
Hot shot came over to his parents. "Hot shot try to be more careful," Hightemp told him.
"I will mom," Hot shot said.
"Ugh you got some dirt on your face," his mother said and licked her finger and wiped off the dirt. Some human kids giggled. Hot shot blushed.
"Mom not in front of everyone!" Hot shot said. "The humans are watching," he said.
"Sorry Hot shot, but you got to keep your face clean," she said. "I wasn't trying embarrass you," she said.
"It's okay," Hot shot said.
"After all I was kid once too, my mother and father embarrassed me sometimes too," she told him.
Hot shot hugged his mother.
Once back the school. Things were pretty calm. The recruits were busy with their free time. "Hey guys," Hot shot said coming up. "Let's play some cube," Hot shot said.
"Good idea," Wedge said.
"I call being on Hot shot's team," Hoist said.
"Hey recruits what is going on?" Grimlock asked.
"We are going to play some cube." Whirl said. "Can you play referee?" she asked.
"Of course," Grimlock said.
Hot shot's team had Hoist, Brushfire, Slash and Whirl. Wedge's team had, Medix, Sludge, Snarl and Laserbeak. "Okay let's play some cube," Grimlock said.
The cube was going all over the place and the recruits were having fun. The teachers heard them playing and came into watch. Hightemp took a look. "Hot shot's pretty good at cube," she said.
"Yes he was one of the best cube players on Cybertron before Optimus selected him to come here and learn. Now that our school has a cube team he's the captain of the team." Heatwave said. "I bet they will be excited really soon because we are going to have our first ever game against another school." he said. "This school is coming from a school in Vos. This game will be played on their school's field." he said.
A bit later Heatwave called the recruits together before class the next day with Grimlock. "Okay class, I have big news we are soon going to compete in the first cube game against another school this year," Heatwave said.
"Awesome," Hot shot said.
"I expect all of you to practice hard and do your best," Grimlock said.
Hot shot was excited about this but his friends were nervous. "Something wrong guys?" he asked.
"I'm just a little bit nervous," Whirl said.
"Same here," Hoist said.
"Seconded," Medix said.
"As am I," Wedge said.
"Sounds like you guys just have some pregame jitters," Hot shot said.
"How did you know that we are nervous about the game?" Medix asked.
"Lucky guess and I got nervous whenever I used play on cube team and we played against another team, it's normal, just remember to do your best and try to have fun," Hot shot said. "It's great win, but now I know it's best to have fun and be a good sport," he said.
"Hot shot is right," Grimlock said coming in. "I overheard the conversation and Hot shot is right it's normal to be nervous when a game is coming up and it's important to have fun when you are playing and trying to win, and it's important to be a good sport," he said. "So let's start practicing we have week to get ready for our first game." he said.
"Yes coach!" they said.
They were doing their exercises and drills to get ready for the competition. Then the big day came and the teachers came along with the families of the recruits. "Okay team all that practice has come down to this I want all of you to do your best out there so be ready." Grimlock said. "Do your best out there and I hope you win," he said.
"Ladies and Gentlemen time for the school cube leagues first game of the year. The Vos seeker prep Star busters, vs the Rescue bot's Academy Amazing Rescuers." the announcer said.
The Vos team looked tough. "Remember guys we must do this as team," Hot shot told them.
"Remember guys we must do whatever it takes to win," the seeker captain said. "We have to win either this game or our next game in and several other games after that to make it the finals tournament," he said.
"We know that, those rescue bots recruits won't stand a chance," another seeker player said laughing.
"Now let's start the game," the referee said.
The cube was released and the two teams went after it. "Wedge to the left," Hot shot called. "Whirl watch his back," he said.
"I have an idea," the captain said and managed to trip up Wedge and catch the cube.
Hot shot came over. "Wedge are you hurt?" Hot shot asked helping him up.
"Just my pride," Wedge said.
'Good," Hot shot said.
"But I felt something shock me earlier," Wedge admitted.
"Hmm, I have sneaking suspicion about this," Whirl said.
They continued to play. Hot shot and his friends scored several times and had several fails they couldn't explain. Lazerbeak was very suspicious and found something it looked like the other team was cheating. But he couldn't get a clear shot of the cheating.
The game was over and Vos team won. "We lost," Hoist said.
"It's okay, you can't win them all," Grimlock said.
Hot shot sighed and looked upset. "What's wrong Hot shot?" Heatwave asked.
"I am the team captain and I was suppose help make sure our team did well and won, but we kept messing up, I failed the team," Hot shot said.
"You didn't fail us," Medix said. "We all did our best," he said. But something seemed fishy during the game about the other team. He thought.
"Maybe I really don't have what it takes to be team captain," Hot shot said.
"Hot shot, you really inspire the others to keep trying and try news things and open their minds to new ideas and strategies and try to learn from your mistakes, that is why I made you the team captain," Grimlock told him. "You definitely have what it takes if you ask me," he said.
"Yes we believe so too," his friends told him.
Back on earth Lazerbeak was squawking. "What is it Lazerbeak?" Hot shot asked.
"He's trying to tell us something," Whirl said.
"But what?" Sludge asked.
They took Lazerbeak to Perceptor to translate. Lazerbeak squawked and screeched. "What did he say?" Hoist asked.
"He says he thinks saw the other team cheating," Perceptor said.
"Are you sure Lazerbeak?" Wedge asked.
Lazerbeak screeched again. "He says he saw the whole thing when he used his optics to zoom in close but the shot wasn't clear so he isn't entirely sure," Perceptor said.
"I believe Lazerbeak, after all those accidents it couldn't have been a coincidence," Medix told them.
"But guys we can't prove the other team is cheating without evidence," Whirl told them.
"That's true," Hot shot said.
They told the other teachers what Lazerbeak told them. "But how can we prove they are cheating?" Hoist asked.
"Hmm I heard rumors that this team cheats but no evidence is found because all of the check camera's on the field don't catch anything like that just blurs of motion and that is it," Chase said.
"We have to catch them in the next game we play against them," Hot shot said.
"Our next game against the Vos Seeker Prep Star buster is in two months," Grimlock said.
"We need to be prepared to catch them in the act." Hot shot said. "To do so Lazerbeak will have to be in that game's starting line up to catch them in the act." he said.
"Sound good to me," Grimlock said.
Now they had another game before that which they won in the following two weeks now they had to be ready for their next game against the Vos Seeker Prep Star busters.
