Chloe Cerise plays matchmaker for Ash Ketchum and Goh, but is it another Psyduck scenario?
This time for sure!
Chloe misconstrued Chrysa's story. It was that chivalrous scarf-wearing Psyduck she was psyched to meet again, not its Trainer!
This time, as Eevee is her witness, she couldn't be mistaken!
Goh had been avoiding Ash for days. Getting up early thanks to scheduled hits from Grookey's stick to his head so he didn't bump into Ash climbing down from his bunk. Brushing his teeth by the stream. Taking his breakfast outside. Not going on any further journeys.
Classic behaviour for a boy infatuated with his friend/roommate!
This time, Chloe would make love happen!
"Derace!"
"Rrrr-ruh-ruh-ruh-ruh-ruh!"
Cinderace and Lucario were fighting in Cerise Park. It got loud and heated enough Cinderace started punting Pyro Balls, and Lucario copied itself using Double Team to dodge them. The other Pokémon were agitated as well.
Inspired by their fossil dig in Galar where the whipped cream she stirred together turned up missing, Chloe had moved Lucario's meal into Goh's Greedent's cave.
Any second, Ash and Goh would barge between their Pokémon to break up the battle, forcing one very dense person and one stubborn child who hid his emotions to interact face to face, Goh's evasion measures be something you can't say in the dub!
"Books, don't fail me now!" She spied impatiently.
As anticipated, Ash and Goh arrived, calming the personality swap cases.
Pikachu offered Lucario cookies off the top of his bowl until the missing food was found or Ash poured more.
Ash and Goh finally talked, only there was no blushing or hugging. Why was there no blushing or hugging?
"Goh!" Chloe yelled. "You're supposed to hug Ash!"
"C-Chloe? Uh, um, excuse me?"
She slunk off to retool her strategy. Eevee tailed.
"What was that about?" Goh wondered.
"Search me!" Ash hmm-hmm'd, Pikachu similarly curious. "So, you're really over your cold?"
"Yep! Goh used Recover, Ash!"
"Hahaha, that's great! I guess those apples Gengar picked helped?"
"They did! But just between us, I might have nightmares about Gengar any day now!"
"Less scary than transforming into a Rillaboom, though, eh?"
"Absolutely!" Goh shivered.
"Weird thing with Chloe."
"Mm-hmm."
"Should we invite her along on our date to check she's okay?" Ash dwelled.
"If you observe rule numero uno," Goh reminded him.
"No handholding in public! Got it!"
