Summary: After the Regiment De Cuisine, Erina begins to notice a change in her whenever she starts thinking of her battle partner Yukihira Soma.
Nakiri Erina and Yukihira Soma 3-0 Tsukasa Eishi and Kobayashi Rindou.
"We did it!!!" The rebels yell as they look at the scoreboard and they destroy the jail cell they once stood in during the Team Shokugeki. Not only seeing that theywon but what everyonein the arena saw was Erina running up to Soma and hugging him tightly.
"Yukihira-kun! We won!" Erina exclaims as she pulls him in for a hug. Soma hugs her back and says how he couldn't have done it without their friends. Erina realizes what she is doing and tries to escape Soma's embrace but it doesn't work and instead melts in his hug.
Soon after they appoint each other as 1st seat of the Elite Ten and Director of Totsuki and they couldn't have been happier.
In the hotel they stay at in Hokkaido, they party up in Marui's room celebrating their victory against Central and they play games like cards and drink Sakaki's rice juice. Erina tells everyone she wants some fresh air after a couple of card games and goes to the balcony of their hotel room.
"Salmon Roe" Erina said as she looks up at the stars and rethinks of what Soma said in that night they were riding the train.
"Damn right it is" a voice behind her says as she turns her head to look at who it was. Yukihira Soma was also star gazing with Erina as he also wanted a break from all the festivities. "Yukihira-Kun? What are you doing out here?" Erina asks. In a relaxed voice, "I'm not sure really, it's just hard to take in that I'm the first seat of the Elite Ten." Soma responds. Erina understands Soma. It's not really usual that a student in their first year becomes the first seat better yet a transfer student from a diner. No scratch that, that changed a long time ago. Erina thinks of Soma as her savior and she is very thankful that she has him by her side.
"It seems your speech in the entrance ceremony hasn't gone in vain," Erina added. "Hehe yeah, to be honest I now understand how far apart my gap was from the former elite ten members. I was being kinda cocky wasn't I?" Soma admits while doing his signature grin. Erina giggles in response saying he was much more cockier than he thought.
It was at that moment Soma paid attention to Erina's face when she laughed. That smile that appeared on her face made Soma melt and he could admit it in his mind right there.
"Yukihira-kun?" Erina asks as Soma is staring at her "is everything okay?". Soma then returns to his world and realizes how weird he's acting. "No no everything is fine. I was just lost in thought for a moment". Erina eye shim suspiciously but brushes it off because of something she has to say.
Erina tells Soma she needs to tell him something. They walk into Erina's room and sit on the couch as Erina begins.
"I'm so sorry for how I treated you back then." Erina starts. "I tried so hard to get you expelled and you just brushed it off and helped me. You fought alongside me against my father and won. I am truly grateful for what you have done for me". Erina throughout the Central drama questioned her feelings for her red headed friend. She went back and forth thinking whether or not she liked Soma. Soon she finally admitted in her mind she started liking him, even loving him because of what he did for her, but she wasn't ready to tell him yet.
At first Soma was surprised. You don't usually see this side of Erina. He doesn't want to ruin the moment though. "Don't worry Nakiri, I was never mad at you anyway. I saw you as an inspiration to push further to make you say my cooking is delicious. Speaking of which, as first seat of the elite ten, I will make you say Yukihira Soma's food is delicious no matter how long it takes!" He tells her. Erina blushes as she hears Soma say how she was an inspiration to him but then quickly retorts saying he can try as hard as he wants.
Erina rethinks of what her dear cousin Alice told her in the swimming pool last summer.
Flashback
"Erina, if it ever happens to you that you fall in love with someone, it is important to make a move as quick as possible!" Alice explains to Erina.
"Why should I do that? I'm Nakiri Erina! Boys are supposed to be the one making the first moves!" Erina retorts. "Oh my dear cousin, I already have a feeling you have fell for someone, you just haven't noticed it yet" Alice says as she has a weird smile on her face Erina can't seem to picture.
"I see now" Erina thinks as she had a smile on her face. She decides she would make a small move here.
"B-by the way, y-you can call me E-E-Erina if you'd like" Erina suddenly says while stuttering hard. Once again Soma was stunned. He couldn't think of any other people that called Erina by her first name besides her family members and Yoshino. "O-oh sure Nak- Erina, I'd love to call you that." Soma says while also stuttering. It was now Erina that was surprised. Is he actually blushing? Erina has never seen Soma blush due to his denseness. "I s-suppose you can call me Soma also since I call you Erina now" Soma adds. Erina's heart leaps with joy when she heard that. They continue talking about other stuff, even some personal things about their life.
It was staring to get late and Soma and Erina are surprised at how much they conversed. They were sure everyone was either asleep or crashed due to the rice juice.
"It's getting really late Erina, I should get going to my room now". Soma says. Just as Soma gets up to go to his room he feels a hand grab his wrist gently. Soma turns around to see Erina with the reddest face he has ever seen. Redder than the tomatoes you would see in the Polar Star garden. "Y-your room is a couple floors down it's already late at night. I suppose I could let you s-s-t-tay here for the night with me" Erina tells him.
Soma's eyes widen at what Erina said. Staying over at her room with only one bed? "But there's only one bed here Erina." He says. Erina stands up and pulls him down to her bed. Both start blushing furiously due to their current actions. Erina went from first hating Soma to sleeping in the same bed with him. "Just stay" Erina whispers. Soma then nods as he wraps his arms around Erina and pulls her in and Erina complies and wraps her arms around Soma's waist. Soma falls fast asleep already while Erina has one of the most sweetest looking smiles while sleeping under Soma's chin.
They soon become second years and at the same time Soma and Erina become much more closer. There were consequences to this though.
Soma has gained a lot of popularity ever since the Regiment De Cuisine, especially with the female student body, and Erina isn't liking it.
Back when Soma first transferred into Totsuki, people may not have noticed it including Erina, but he was a fairly handsome man. He worked out after he works on dishes daily and also gained a lot of muscle when working out with Kurokiba, Hayama, and Takumi.
The Finals were soon approaching and Erina didn't show any mercy to the students, especially the elite ten. (We're gonna remove Assahi because who wants him). The Elite ten had to work on their broken down beach clubhouse.
While Soma was gathering materials for the beach clubhouse, he had to walk across the beach carrying wood and many women started swooning over him. Erina took note of this and started getting irritated.
"Should I confess to him soon by making him a dish?" A girl asked. "No way! You should totally just be straight up and tell him!" Another girl responded. Erina had enough and finally snapped in front of her assistant Hisako and her cousin Alice totally unaware of their presence "Don't you two have a stall to prepare for your finals?" Erina asked in a cold tone with similar to her father's. "Sorry Erina-dono we will get started right away!!" Both girls exclaimed while bowing and running away.
"Erina-sama? Is everything alright? You don't usually snap in front of other students anymore.." Hisako asked oblivious to why Erina did that. Meanwhile Alice was trying not to laugh her ass off because she was already aware of Erina's feelings towards the redhead due to her actions to him recently. Alice took note to confront her after the day was done.
"N-nothing Hisako. I-I just felt like doing it.." Erina responded trying not to expose the truth. Hisako just shrugged it off while Alice was laughing with her hand covering her mouth.
Alice decided to have a little fun with Erina too. "Well Erina the rest of the elite ten need help with the stall so I should go now. I should also assist Yukihira-kun also so that we can be done and have time to hangout with him for a while" Alice said with a mischievous grin similar to Soma's grin when he has a disgusting creation ready to feed to Megumi.
Erina's body jumped up instantly and did a 360 degree turn in an instant. "WHAT ARE YOUR INTENTIONS WITH SOMA?!" Erina suddenly yelled out of the blue causing students around it building to hear her. Erina suddenly realized what she said while Alice had a shit eating grin shown upon her face. "I-I mean I don't care what you do with him. Hmph. W-why should I care with what you do with S-soma?" Erina asked again trying not to exposed the truth but she already knew that Alice knew.
"So their finally at first name basis eh?" Thought Alice.
Erina would also make sure she was partners with Soma EVERY TIME in classes she had with him. It was almost a mandatory rule for her
"Alright everyone we will be cooking the French dishes we went over last class" Chapelle-sensei stated to his class. "Pick your partners".
"Hey Y-yukihira-kun" a second year girl said as she walked up to him "do you want to be partners?". "Oh sure it's nice to have a new partner once in a while!" the current first seat said nonchalantly.
The girl was overjoyed that she got the chance. That was until she looked over Soma's shoulder to see the headmistress Nakiri Erina being surrounded by a dark aura and shooting daggers at the poor girl.
The girl nearly fainted and told Soma she found someone else to partner up with and apologized.
Soma was confused but shrugged it off as he saw Erina walking to him. "Yo Erina, ready to cook?" Soma asked. "Always Soma. I am ready to show you my skills compared to yours" Erina stated with both their eyes glowing up with competitive fire. Chapelle-sensei just sighed and could see that the headmistress was very competitive when it came to the first seat.
The confession came when a dance was announced by the elite ten. Erina already knew who she was asking and by the time Soma figured out his feelings for Erina when his father gave him the advice to being a good chef.
Girls and boys left and right asked Soma and Erina both to the dance but rejected them because they knew who to ask.
Soma texted Erina to meet him at Polar Star dormitory for a new dish. He was actually gonna confess to her.
Erina soon arrived and entered the dorm in a good mood. She walked to the kitchen seeing Soma whipping up a dish. "Yo Erina just in time!" Soma exclaimed. "What dish do you have for me Soma? Erina asked curious. "Just sit at the table and wait it's almost ready" Soma replied with a grin.
Erin waited at the table for 10 minutes and Soma arrived with his dish. "It looks very similar to the tempura don" Erina thought. "I present to you Soma Style Eggs Benedict Don Fit For MY Queen" Soma said as he exaggerated the "My" to give Erina a hint. And Erina got it, she started blushing but also started being overjoyed that it was happening. She took a bite out of the dish to confirm it.
Love
That's all Erina felt when she ate the dish. Love. After all Soma and Erina been through during their time at Totsuki it all led to them falling in love with each other. The Eggs Benedict, the first dish Erina presented to Soma. Eggs, which symbolize them both.
Erina finished the dish in seconds not even recovering from how delicious the don was. Erina stood up and walked up to Soma, both of their faces red.
Their faces inches apart close the distance as their lips connect. Soma felt like he was in heaven, meanwhile Erina felt something she hasn't felt in a long time besides her grandfather and her cousin. Love and Care for her.
"Will you go out to the dance with me Erina?" Soma asked. Erina who's eyes were full of tears waiting to drop nodded and again clashed her lips against Soma's lips.
"I Love You" they both said in unison.
