A/N: This is based on the movie Neverknock with Dominique Provost Chalkley and Jodelle Ferland. May contain spoilers. Waited forever for a kiss that never happened. Takes place after the monster dies.
I month later:
Grace woke up screaming again as she grabs for Leah, she frowns when she's greeted with nothing but darkness.
"Grace are you okay?" her little sister Jenna asks as she walks into the room.
"Yeah sorry," she mumbles as she runs her hands through her damp hair, as she takes some deep breaths.
"I think they're letting her out today," Jenna trails off referring to Leah.
"Oh cool," Grace mumbles as she gives her sister a tight smile.
"You should go see her," Jenna encourages. "I'm sure she wants to see you. She asked about you when I went to see her, she's happy you're alive."
"She almost died because of me," Grace says as she tries not to cry.
"I'm the one who knocked," Jenna trails off again.
"Stop blaming yourself," Grace warns.
"Goes both ways sis," Jenna shoots back as she sticks her tongue out at her older sister causing her to roll her eyes. "But I mean it, go see her," she says as she lets herself out.
Grace lies back down as she pulls the covers over her head, trying to drown out the noise of her father making breakfast. After a few minutes of trying to fall back asleep she finally gives up and goes downstairs.
Her father is the first to spot her, "good morning," he greets his oldest as he kisses her forehead before handing her a plate of eggs and bacon.
"Morning," Grace mumbles as she pushes it away.
"You need to eat something," her father scolds her as he grabs his briefcase.
"Another long night?" Jenna asks sadly.
"I'm sorry sweetheart, they need me," he tells her as he ruffles her hair.
"So do we," Grace snaps as she storms back up the stairs.
"I'll be back late," he says as he walks out.
"Grace?" Jenna asks as she knocks on the door before opening it.
Grace is lying on her bed, her phone by her side as she stares at Leah's number, willing herself to call.
"Go see her for your sake," Jenna says again as she flops down next to her sister jolting the phone as she does so.
"It's just all too much," Grace complains as she sits up against her headboard.
"She came back for you," Jenna tells her, "she could have just left, but she didn't. She cares about you, and I know you care about her to."
Tears fall from Grace's eyes, "I thought I lost her."
"You didn't, so go to her."
Grace nods as she grabs a pair of jeans and a hoodie, she runs a brush through her hair and slides on her converse before grabbing her phone.
"I'll be fine," Jenna waves her off as she holds up the remote to her sisters TV.
Grace rolls her eyes before walking off. She's nervous as she cuts the engine to her car in front of Leah's house. Her hands shake as she knocks.
"Hello," a woman who Grace assumes is Leah's mother answers.
"Uhh hi, I'm Grace."
"Oh hello dear, come on in," her mother smiles as she steps aside allowing the teen to enter. "Leah talks about you all the time."
"How is she?" Grace asks timidly.
"She's coping," her mother frowns as she glances towards the stairs. "I actually have to head to work, make yourself at home, she's in her room."
"Thank you," Grace says as she watches her go. She wipes her sweaty hands on her jeans as she makes her way to Leah's room; she fixes her hair one more time before knocking.
"Mom I'm not hungry!" she hears as she suppresses a smile.
"It's me Grace."
"Come in," Leah says as she beams when Grace walks in looking nervous, she shuts off the TV as she sets down the remote.
"Hi," Grace mumbles nervously as she fiddles with her fingers.
"Hey," Leah replies just as nervous as she turns on the lamp next to her, filling the room with a small patch of light.
"How are you feeling?" Grace asks as she takes a step closer.
"This shouldn't be awkward," Leah sighs as she motions to the bed.
Grace smiles as she kicks off her shoes before sitting next to the girl. Both girls sit in silence before Grace finally breaks it, "I should have visited, I'm sorry."
"Hey, its okay, I get it," Leah tells her as she takes her hand.
"I really thought you were dead," Grace trails off her eyes filling with tears.
"When he dragged me away, I was able to fight him off, I heard him start to go after you, and I figured he was luring you back to the house."
"You came back for us." Grace whispers as she squeezes her hand.
"I didn't want anything to happen to you or Jenna of course," she replies her voice wavering as it trembles.
"I'm sorry," Grace replies.
"Don't be, it happened."
"That's not what I'm apologizing for," Grace says as her eyes darken.
Leah was confused as she waited for Grace to continue.
"I'm sorry for not kissing you in the haunted house."
"I just figured you weren't interested," Leah shrugged as she frowned a little.
"Oh I am it's just ever since I lost my mom things have been hard and not knowing where Jenna was. My head just wasn't there and I'm sorry."
"You're a good sister," Leah smiles as she squeezes her knee.
Both girls locked eyes as they smiled at the other, they weren't sure who kissed who first, but as their lips touched it didn't matter. Both girls smiled as the kiss became more frantic as their tongues seeked the others out and hands began to wander.
Leah grows bolder as she slides her hand under the other girl's hoodies, smiling at the warm skin she felt.
Grace pulls away as she tugs off the hoodie and tosses it aside, before locking lips again with the other girl.
The teens continue to kiss passinatley as hands began to wander; Leah grew more and bolder as she slid her hand under the others girl shirt again.
Grace cups her cheeks as she kisses her harder as she locks eyes with the teen, "take it off."
"Are you sure?" she asks nervous as her hands began to shake.
"More than anything," she replies as she smiles.
Leah can't help but smile back as her shaky hands slowly take off Grace's shirt, she tosses it somewhere behind her as her mouth drops open.
"What?" Grace asks suddenly very self-conscious.
"Nothing you're just wow," Leah manages to get out as her eyes darken.
Grace smiles shyly as Leah runs her fingers up and down her abs causing her to shiver. "Can I?" Grace trails off as she blushes causing Leah's smile to widen.
"Please."
Their eyes lock as Grace slowly removes her shirt as well tossing it behind her as she admires the beauty that's in front of her.
"I'm suddenly really terrified," Grace whispers as she cups Leah cheek.
"Me too, but we don't have to do anything," she tells her as she places her hand over the one on her cheek.
"That's just it, I want to," Grace replies honestly as she puts their foreheads together.
"I do too," Leah replies as she takes her hand.
Both girls smile as they lock lips, clothes are quickly discarded as they fall to the bed.
"I'm sorry," Leah mumbles after an hour, "I've just never been with," she trails off as she blushes.
"Hey its okay, I haven't either, but first times are always awkward," Grace assures her as she kisses her cheek.
Leah smiles, "but practice makes perfect."
Grace grins as she pulls Leah in for round two.
A/N: Let me know what you think. I wish we would have gotten at least one kiss in the movie but oh well.
