Hotshot: So, with the addition of using the actual episodes as guidelines...I'm also going to use Digital Hazard as another basis because...well...something I already wrote and it's just easier for me that way. Also, some events will be similar but that's because I'm lazy to think up new events like how Guilmon digivolves- that's more or less going to be the same, attacking Digimon wise at least. Anyways, hope you all will enjoy this fic! I will get this one completed, I promise.

Summary: Sota Kamiya just wanted to go to summer camp with his big brother and have a good time. He didn't expect to be one of the heroes who has to save the Digital World.

"And So It Begins"

Summer Camp, the one place I've been looking forward to going. I love the outdoors and just being out in nature in general.

My name is Sota Kamiya and I'm the younger brother of Taichi "Tai" Kamiya and the twin of Hikari "Kari" Kamiya. Tai's eleven while Kari and I were both eight. All three of us were suppose to go to Summer Camp but Kari ended up becoming sick at the last second, so it was just Tai and I. I had really hoped she would had been able to go, we hardly did anything apart and not having her around felt a little bit weird.

For this place, my go-to outfit was a simple white t-shirt with a navy blue jacket that was tied around my waist. I was also wearing a pair of black shorts with pockets and blue and red sneakers. My brown hair was a little bit tamer than Tai's and it was cut short.

There were six other kids that we had met when we first got here, although we did know one. The kid that we did know was Sora Takenouchi. She was the same age as Tai and played on a soccer team, so she and Tai had something in common that they could talk about.

Then, we have Yamato "Matt" Ishida. He's also the same age as Tai, although he doesn't seem too keen on getting to know us all that much.

"Koushiro "Izzy" Izumi is younger than Tai since he was ten years old. He always has his head in his laptop that he brought with him. If I had to guess, he's probably the smartest out of all of us.

Mimi Tachikawa is the same age as Izzy though she was taller than him. If I was honest...I didn't really like her, she seems to find something to always whine about. She also seems to be a spoiled brat at times with how she talks to us and whatnot.

Takeru "TK" Takaishi is Matt's little brother who was my age. He's at least a inch taller than me and we hit it off pretty well when we met. He's fun-loving and very kind as well.

Lastly is Joe Kido. He's the oldest out of all of us since he was twelve years old. He's a bit of a scaredy cat and is constantly worried about anything and everything.

They were off doing their own thing, though Tai was dozing on a branch above me in a tree while I sat on the ground, leaning against the trunk. I was currently day dreaming with my eyes closed, not being aware of anything going on around me. It's one of the reasons why I jumped when Tai suddenly landed on the ground in front of me, making my eyes snap open.

"Looks like there's gonna be some weird weather in store for us." he stated and I looked up at him in confusion.

"What do you mean- Is that just a weird white rain drop is that actually snow?" I watched as the snowflake flutter down, the blue of Tai's shirt made me able to see it clearly. I stood and walk out from under the tree and looked up. I could see more snowflakes fluttering down from the sky and I couldn't help but watch in awe and confusion.

"Come on, we should get going just in case it gets worse." Tai told me and I quickly nodded, grabbing his hand and we begun to walk. Before we knew it, Tai was right about it getting worse as a blizzard blew in from out of nowhere. We quickly ran as fast as we could to the nearest cabin, where we quickly found the others who had also had seek shelter inside.

"Welcome to the cabin club." Sora joked as she walked over and brushed some of the snow out of my hair. "It's so much warmer than outside."

"I sure hope it is, or I want my yen back." I joked back, making her let out a light laugh. "Come on, you can sit over with me with Tai."

Tai and I followed Sora and sat with her, me sitting in between them.

Luckily for us, the blizzard did not last long and Tai opened the door, making my shiver as the cool draft entered the cabin.

"Guys, let's have Toboggan races since we won't be having any canoe races!" he laughed as he ran out of the cabin, the snow crunching under his sneakers.

"I'm gonna build the biggest snowman!" TK declared as he ran out, followed by Matt who was telling the younger to be careful and slow down.

"Brrr...its freezing and I didn't bright a jacket." Sora shivered, her gloved hands coming up to her bare shoulders to rub them as she walked out next.

"Man...I was worried I'd catch a summer cold." Joe stated as he stood at the entrance, clearly eyeing the snow around them. "But this is even worse."

"Oh, wow!" beamed Mimi as she went out in front of Joe with the older kid following. "Why didn't I pack my fluffy pink snow boots?"

I was the next to walk out and I couldn't help but stare at the snow in awe as I walked up and stood next to Tai. Then, I heard Tai calling back to Izzy from beside me, telling the younger to get out here and that he has got to see this. I was confused at first until I looked up and a gasp escaped my mouth when I saw multi-colored lights in the sky.

"It's beautiful!" Mimi said in awe. "Magical even!"

"Yeah...but what is it?" Izzy asked as he made his way over to us.

"Maybe an Aurora?" suggested Sora.

"You mean the Aurora Bor….Bore…"I tried to answer her but was having trouble with the second word as it was a difficult word to pronounce but thankfully, Izzy decided to help me.

"Aurora Borealis, also known as the northern lights. But its impossible, its in Alaska and we are to far south."

"Tell that to the snow." stated Sora.

I really think we outta get back inside before we all come down with pneumonia." Joe advised us.

"And miss this?" Questioned Matt. "The sky is, like, short-circuiting."

I continued to stare up at the sky in awe before I noticed something faint, something...green? I grabbed onto Tai's hand, making him look at me before I pointed and he followed my finger and my line of sight.

"Hey, what's that?" Tai asked and, of course, no one answered. We watched as something yellow flashed within the green thing and then, there was eight pillars of light heading straight towards us. One by one, the pillars- or something inside the pillars- landed in front of us one by one, making Tai quickly cover me with his body until the impacts ended.

"You all alright?" Sora asked us.

"We're still here." Matt stated as Tai pulled away and straightened up.

"That was scary..." Mimi swallowed slightly.

"What- what was that?" Joe asked as he slowly got over his shock.

"Meteors?" Izzy cautiously suggested. Few moments after, his suggestion was proven wrong as white lights came from the holes in front of each one of us. Then, there was the shapes within the light that was starting to float upwards. We each grabbed out respective...shapes and when I opened my hand, I saw that it was some kind of strange device.

"What are these?" Sora asked.

"Huh...my guess is some sort of miniature remote digital apparatus." Izzy answered her. The heck's an apparatus?

"No instructions?" Joe asked this time. I continued to look over my device and noticed that the small, square screen had started to faintly glow green for some reason.

"Forget the instructions, Surf's up!" yelped Tai, making me look up from the device and hooking it onto my shorts. A large wave was suddenly there and we were suddenly falling between what looked like to be two waterfalls. The two suddenly turned to multi-colored lights and then something else that I couldn't describe before everything went black.

"Sota." I heard a slightly childish male voice call my name when I started to wake up. "Come on, wake up, Sota!"

I became aware of a weight on my chest though it wasn't too heavy, which I was thankful for. I let out a small groan before I slowly opened my eyes. I found orange eyes staring into my own filled with happiness. I let out a yelp as I jumped to my feet, making the owner of the eyes tumbling down to the ground and they landed with a grunt. The creature just seemed stunned for a moment before they righted themselves and just beamed up at me with a grin.

This creature was small enough for me to pick up and hold with ease if I wanted to. Purple and white fur covered them and they had a striped tail. On their head sat a metal helmet with two horns protruding out of it.

"Sota- don't be afraid of me!" the creature chirped. "I'm not gonna hurt ya, I'm your partner!"

"My...partner?" I blinked.

"Uh huh, I've been waiting for you for a really long time!"

"Waiting for...just what are you?"

"I'm a Digimon!"

"Di...gi...mon?" Why did that sound familiar?

"Yeah! It's short for Digital Monster. I'm Kapurimon!" The little guy introduced himself with quite a bit of enthusiasm.

"Oh, well...uh...It's nice to meet you, Kapurimon. I guess you already know who I am." I scratched my cheek. He let out a small giggle before he hopped up and at me. I scrambled to catch him and I was now holding him and I couldn't help but notice that his fur was a little soft. All I could do is just stare while my mind was going a mile a minute and he stared back at me, his tail swaying. Then, I heard something crashing and running in the bushes to the left of us. I looked over and saw that Mimi was running running out of the said bushes and towards me along with a plant like creature- well, Digimon. They both looked very frightened of something, whatever it is.

"Mimi, what's wrong?" I tried to ask her but she simply ran past me, making me blink. Then, I saw what was chasing her.

A very large, beetle-like Digimon with a pair of pincers and jaws full of teeth flying straight towards us full speed, as if it was on a personal mission.

"Oh man- that's Kuwagamon, an insectoid Digimon and he's one of the baddest Digimon on this island- even when he's in a good mood!" Kapurimon informed me. "We gotta hurry and run!"

"R-Right!" I turned and quickly bolted, following Mimi as closely as I could.

"AAAAAHHHHHHH! SOMEBODY HELP ME!" Mimi screamed at the top of her lungs as we continued to run, trying to keep ahead of the bug Digimon. We ran around the bend and I could see the others with their own Digimon in front of us.

"Mimi! Sota!" I heard Tai call out in relief. "It's o-"

"It is not okay!" I shouted at him just as Kuwagamon let out a screech and came into view. I quickly dived to the ground just as the bug passed over us and out of sight, making me sit up and sigh in relief as I let my partner go.

"Mimi, are you alright?" asked the plant-like Digimon.

"I think so..." Mimi replied as she took a few deep breaths.

"Don't worry, Tanemon's here to protect you."

Sora walked over to Mimi and knelt down, a hand on the other girl's shoulder. "It's alright now."

Mimi looked at her. "Oh Sora."

"Are you okay, Sota?" Kapurimon asked. "You dived pretty hard."

"I'm fine, bud. No scrapes." I reassured him.

"Don't you worry, I'm gonna keep ya safe!" Kapurimon vowed and I could just imagine him puff out his chest if he had one, which made me smile a little before I noticed Tai scrambling over to me. He knelt down and placed both of his hands on my shoulders, looking me over to make sure I wasn't hurt. Once he was satisfied, he grinned and ruffled my hair.

"I swear, you love giving my heart attacks." he joked and I just gave him a little grin before he stood and then looked when we hear a screech. "Watch it! Here he comes!"

"Run!" Sora yelped and Mimi and I quickly got to our feet and began to run with the others.

"Down!" shouted Matt when he glanced back behind us. We all hit the floor just in time for Kuwagamon to fly over us.

"Will this nightmare never end?" whimpered Joe as we all sat up. "My mom is gonna want a complete and total refund!"

"Here he comes again!" warned a pink Digimon with what looked like to be a flower on her head.

"Okay, that does it!" Tai got to his feet first. "No more running away!"

"What else can we do?" asked Sora as she helped Mimi up.

"She's right." Matt told Tai as both he and TK got up. "There's no way we can fight this thing."

"Not and win, anyway." added Izzy. Tai glanced down at me and, after a moment of watching the bug head towards us, he grabbed my hand and we all began to run once more. I didn't know how long we were running for with Kuwagamon after us but we eventually ended up on a cliff and skidded to a stop.

"Great. Anybody bring a helicopter?" asked Matt.

"Be careful Tai." Sora stated as Tai let my hand go and went over to the edge and looked over it, looking down.

"There's no way down." Tai reported as he turned back towards us. "We're gonna have to find another way."

"Another way where?" questioned Sora. Kuwagamon decided to burst through the edge of the forest at this exact moment with a screech, flying over us as we hit the floor once more. When we looked up, we saw that it was heading straight for Tai. "Watch out Tai!"

Tai began to run towards us when a pink head with floppy ears bounced past him and at the attacking Digimon. In the back of my mind, I swear there was a trickle of...familiarity about this specific Digimon, like I had met him at another time but I didn't know why. I'm sure I never met Floppy Ears-

...Floppy Ears? Where did that one come-

My thoughts were interrupted as Floppy Ears' attack didn't do much and was hit aside while Kuwagamon began to head straight towards me and the others.

"Digimon attack!" commanded the pink Digimon with the flower on its head. All of our Digimon charged in and used bubble attacks but they were all knocked away. Although, the larger Digimon seemed to be blinded for the time being by the attacks and had crashed back into the forest. We quickly scrambled to our Digimon to make sure they were alright.

"Kapurimon!" I cried out as I scooped my partners in my arms.

"You, okay?" Was the first thing Kapurimon asked me when he opened his eyes to look at him.

"You're the one who was being thrown like a ragdoll." I sniffed, whipping my eyes as I felt tears trying to fill them.

"You don't need to cry! I'm tougher than I look." Kapurimon reassured me, raising his tail to brush against my cheek, under my eye.

"Huh?" I heard Joe say before a screech answered him. "Oh no!"

I looked and saw that Kuwagamon was up again, this time standing and closing and opening his pinchers threateningly.

"Get back!" Matt commanded and we all did so, going over to Tai. I stood on one side of him, holding Kapurimon close to me.

"I was hoping we'd see the last of him." swallowed Sora.

"Me too." Tai stated as we all stared at the overgrown bug. "Guess he had other plans, huh?"

"I think he's rather mad." I piped up as the ground shook when Kuwagamon took a step towards us, then two. I heard Matt say something but I wasn't paying too much attention to his words.

"Okay, get ready to run."

"No, we fight!" stated Floppy Ears.

"Huh?"

"That's right! It's the only way! Stand and fight!"

"Give it up, will ya?"

"No, Koromon's right!" stated the Digimon that Izzy was holding. "It's time we show what we're made of!"

"No." Izzy shook his head.

"They're right." stated Sora's Digimon.

"No way." Sora frowned. "It's hopeless. You're no match for him, Yokomon."

"We can do it!" Matt's Digimon turned and tried to wiggle out of his hold. "We can do it! Let me go, let me go, let me go!"

"Yes!" TK's Digimon tried to do the same thing. "We can do it, We can do it!"

"Let me go, let me go, let me go!" Joe's Digimon was trying to get free, flapping his fins.

"Tanemon...you too?" asked Mimi and her Digimon nodded."

"He messed with Sota, no way I'm going to let him get away with it!" Kapurimon squirmed in my arms and I tried to hold fast.

"Kapurimon- no!" I did my best but it was no use. He broke out of my hold and landed on the ground before he began to hop with the others away from us. We all shouted for them and began to chase after when a sudden noise came from the device. I looked down and saw that the screen was glowing green again before it turned into a bright light.

I looked up and saw the sky above our Digimon turned black and rainbow colored pillars of lights hit our Digimon and they all glowed a white color.

"Koromon digivolve to...AGUMON!"

"Yokomon digivolve to...BIYOMON!"

"Motimon digivolve to...TENTOMON!"

"Tsunomon digivolve to...GABUMON!"

"Tokomon digivolve to...PATAMON!"

"Bukamon digivolve to...GOMAMON!"

"Tanemon digivolve to…PALMON!"

"Kapurimon digivolve to...PAWNCHESSMON!"

The light faded, revealing our Digimon and holy crap how they've changed. Kapurimon had changed from a head with a tail and a helmet to what looked like to be some sort of knight in black armor or...a pawn I should say from his name suggests. He had a shield in one hand and a spear in the other. Another thing is that he grew, he was pretty much as tall as me and TK.

"What in the- look at them! What's happened to our little guys?!" Sora gaped.

"They're...bigger." Tai stated as we all stared. Then, the Digimon charged forward and tried to tackle it but it simply slapped them away to the ground though they all still got up.

"All right then, you asked for it!" snarled the yellow-orange dinosaur type Digimon- Agumon- that I swore looked oddly familiar to me.

"POISON IVY!"

Palmon elongated her palm-fingers to wrap around Kuwagamon's leg when he was trying to get up in the air.

"BOOM BUBBLE!"

Patamon flew up and inhailed before letting the air bubble escape him and hit the larger Digimon.

"SUPER SHOCKER!"

Tentomon shocked him with electricity. Kuwagamon went to brought his foot down when Gomamon rolled under him, tripping him up which was a good call.

"Stand back everyone!" Agumon told the others as he, Gabumon and Biyomon step forward.

"PEPPER BREATH!"

Agumon spit out a fireball that hit Kuwagamon and I could have sworn the scene changed to the fire ball hitting a large green bird. I shook my head and continued to watch.

"BLUE BLASTER!"

A stream of blue flames shot out of Gabumon's jaws.

"SPIRAL TWISTER!"

Biyomon's attack was green flames going in a spiral. The two attacks hit Kuwagamon and setting it on fire.

"Now, all together!" Agumon stated and the ones who were able to attack, attacked, including my partner.

"PAWN LIGHTNING!"

He thrusts his spear forward and a shockwave came from it and slammed the large bug after all of the other attacks hit, sending it toppling into the forest and out of sight.

"They made vaporware out of him." I heard Izzy said but didn't dignify that with a thought as I continued to stare at my partner, who was turning around and was running towards us with the other Digimon.

"Sota-sir!" Pawnchessmon put both his spear and shield on his back before gripping my hands in his- they reminded me of someone wearing small and/or thin boxing gloves. "Did you see?"

"I did. You were amazing!" He grinned, tightening my grip on his hands.

"Watch out!" I heard Sora suddenly called out, making me look. Kuwagamon was back again and he seems more angry than ever, which made Pawnchessmon turn around and stood in front of me protectively. Tai and Agumon quickly scrambled to us as Kuwagamon's pincers went into the ground where they once were.

"Guess we celebrated to soon!" Tai stated. Cracks began to appear, spiderwebbing out from the pincers and then. I felt the part we were on shift before it broke off and we began to fall. I looked and saw a river down below and there was one problem with that.

I can't swim as I never learned how to.
