I do not own Beyblade, I do take ownership of Hua and Ogami.
Fatal Promise
-chapter one-
—
He catches himself just before his bloodshot gaze meets debilitated topaz one last time. Jerking back into semi-consciousness with his hands gripping onto the frigid body closer to his warmth, it didn't register to him when his own body began to produce more heat. The hot and cold contrast between them, he could feel the once rosy cheeks becoming icier against the skin between his shoulder and chest.
He knew sunset was nearing as life drained slowly from those sunshine eyes. Almost compelling him to turn away, he couldn't watch the sun set forever.
He wept quietly when their lips parted for the very last time, rain poured heavily upon them both.
Blood abides to soak his cloak as he held the one he loved even closer. He's predisposed every ounce of his being to protect the one person who meant more than his life. But in the end, he was too late. The wound inflicted was much too deep, and the poison had long spread like wildfire.
"Promise me you'll live for her, protect her."
He heeds his love's breathless wish, and gently presses his warm lips onto cold skin.
"I will."
9 Years Later.
—
"Papa?"
He gapes out at the divergence of the burgundy nightfall and evanescing lining of crimson from the sunset. The polar transition had painted the lands with a deep, deep crimson, the colour of blood dyed the skies just moments before the lunar frame consumed the region.
"Forgive me, baby..." he barely musters, weariedly tucking a lock of hair behind his kitten's ear.
Beautiful raven tresses, no doubt a gift from her mother.
He had managed to shield the final blow in time, his arms wrapped protectively around the only treasure he had left. He knew that his beloved would never forgive him if they came to learn their kitten was injured. And that was something he wasn't going to shoulder a second time. Not this time.
His lips curved up into a soft grin just before his body had succumb to eternal slumber.
Fangs, that were so like her mother's, bares fiercely over quivering pink lips. Jaws braces strongly, but it didn't halt the film of tears that'd clouded those big bright mahogany eyes to stream down so laboriously. She could feel her loving father's embrace loosening around her body as they laid on the ground, opaque smoke still fogging the battlegrounds.
The young cub crawls out of her father's arms as the dark skies commence laden rain. She watched the motionless shell that was once her father deployed peacefully in the mud. The thick scent of iron pervades her nose, while her clothes drenched with deep scarlet. Eyes swollen and lips trembling, she wept loud enough to block the sound of patter descending from the grey clouds above their heads.
"N-no, no papa, you can't die, you—!"
The lump in her throat hinders her voice, her cries ceases when she receives no response.
"PAPA, don't leave me all alone!"
4 Years Later.
—
It was dark but luckily her nocturnality granted her the ability to maneuver through the shrouded trees. She wasn't exactly sure where she was heading to or how long she planned on running, but she also knew her boastfulness couldn't save her this time. A trait from her great and terrible father that's dammed her for eternality, allowing petty shortcomings left and right to hunt her down.
She was powerless, but she wasn't weak. She wasn't prepared to go down just yet, something that her father had always instill her when he was still alive.
She winced as blood deliberately pours down her arm from her wound, she firmly grips her throbbing shoulder. The long jagged gash resembling much like a tiger's claw, she couldn't believe how close she was to becoming prey. Blood trickling behind her footsteps didn't do a damn thing concealing her tracks, not like it mattered because the demon hunting her every movement also possessed a keen nose.
There was no place to hide.
"My, my... don't you look pretty covered in your own blood," the baritone voice steps from behind the sycamore.
'Ogami.'
In one swift motion, their swords unsheathe and blades cross with a blaring clash.
She could see the colour of her opponent's aura, it clamored a demonic purple. The wicked aura emitting from this man was strong, it was frightfully strong. She bares her fangs, her cavernous ruby eyes altering to slits. She yields all of herself against their blades, having to meet each other's menacing gaze.
This amuses the man greatly.
"You look like your mother," he remarks offhandedly. "When I look at your face, reminding me of how soft and yet...fiery those eyes once were." His humoured expression changes into a darkened facade, "but alas, I was abandoned and betrayed. After having fallen in love with a human and giving birth to you, a miserable half breed no less."
"Damn you to Hell!"
"Listen well, Hua. In case you haven't figured it yet, I am the man who sent your wretched 'mother' to Hell."
Hua growls ferociously, unleashing the ultimate brute of her sword's power. A bright green light breaches from her blade, plunging them both from the powerful force. Blood splutters from the corner of her mouth when her body had hurtled strenuously against one of the oldest trees, dismembering the weaken trunk from its stump, she was thrown to the side.
"Damn you, insolent brat!"
Before she could even blink, strapping hands snares around her neck in a death like grip. The human like hands slowly altering into brute paws of a panther, claws begun to dig into her skin, nearing her throat. The demonic aura shrouding her opponent intensities tremendously, almost tripling in power. Her body was starting to go numb, the potent miasma emitting from his very being started seeping into her system.
'Fuck...he's cursed my body with poison...I-I can't move.'
"You may resemble your mother but you're as vile as your father was, worthless half breed!"
'Papa, baba, please help me...'
A unfamiliar scent fills the air and the wind starts to fasten, a bright white light blinds the darkness of the forest.
"What's this?!" The man shields his eyes from the daunting luminescence, a potency shortly trawls him in what looked like a corridor to another realm.
It was happening all too rapidly, Hua could almost hear the inaudible cries of the other man from the sudden portal. By the fallen sacred tree, beholds the large corridor; drawing anyone and anything in its path with utter might. The raven-haired teen had barely caught her breath when her throat was momentarily released, she had tried reaching for the tree stump. But her grip was not strong enough, the passageway heaved her in; engulfing her.
"PAPA, BABA!"
*omg hi, it's been a while. life has finally caught up to me, and thus i haven't had the mental or emotional energy to write anything since the summer of 2020. i do apologize for not updating for quite some time, i'll try my very best. & yes, i have created yet another story. i'm undergoing the next chapters of "The Crying Game"—which I plan on completing quickly. however, i will be deleting "When the Snow Melts". i didn't like how i approached it, so i will be re-writing a new plot.
