Chapter One: Honor to Us All

"Quiet and demure. Graceful. Polite. Delicate. Refined. Poised. Punctual." Mulan says as Alexis walks in her room and sees her writing on her arm.

"Mulan what on earth are you doing?" Alexis asks curiously.

"Uh.. taking notes?" Mulan says as she quickly covers her arm while Alexis playfully rolls her eyes.

"You're gonna do fine." Alexis says as she follows Mulan into a room where Little Brother is.

"Never hurts to be careful. Little brother! There you are. Who's the smartest doggy in the world? Come on smart boy. Can you help me with my chores today?" Mulan asks as she ties a sack full of chicken feed to the dog along with a bone and lets him outside before she and Alexis go to the temple where Fa Zhou is.

"There you go boy. Good dog." Alexis says as she sees Little Brother trying to get the bone and bends the stick for him so he can grab it.

"Father I brought your... Whoa!" Mulan says as she bumps into her father and drops the tea pot before her father catches it.

"Mulan." Fa Zhou says.

"I brought a spare." Mulan says as she shows a spare cup and pours some tea.

"Mulan." Fa Zhou says.

"Remember the doctor said three cups of tea in the morning..." Mulan says.

"Mulan." Fa Zhou says in attempt to get his daughter's attention.

"And three at night." Mulan says.

"Mulan you should already be in town. We're counting on you to-" Fa Zhou then gets cut off by Mulan.

"Uphold the family honor. Don't worry, Father. I won't let you down. Wish me luck." Mulan says as she runs out of the temple.

"Wait for me!" Alexis shouts as she runs after Mulan.

*Timeskip*

As Alexis and Mulan come up riding on their horses Khan and Alexis's white Arabian horse Azira they see Fa Li not looking happy.

"I'm here. What? But Mama I had to-" Mulan then gets cut off by Fa Li as she and Alexis push Mulan inside.

"None of your excuses. Now let's get you cleaned up." Fa Li says as she and some woman start singing while Mulan gets put into a tub of water.

"It's freezing." Mulan says as she shivers.

"It would've been warm if you were here on time." Alexis says as she dumps some water on Mulan.

"Mulan what's this?" Fa Li asks as she sees writing on Mulan's arm.

"Uh ... notes ... in case I forget something." Mulan says nervously as she covers her arm.

"Hold this. We're going to need more luck than I thought." Granny Fa says as she hands a cricket in a cage to Alexis while some woman sing as they style Mulan's hair, clothes, and make up.

"There you're ready." Fa Li say as she finishes by placing a flower hair clip in Mulan's hair.

"Not yet." Granny Fa says as she and Alexis come over.

"An apple for serenity." Alexis says as she gives Mulan an apple.

"A pendant for balance. Now add a cricket just for luck. And even you can't blow it." Granny Fa says as she gives Mulan a pendant and the cricket in a cage before sending her off as the group follows to the Matchmaker's house.

"Fa Mulan." The Matchmaker says as she comes out.

"Present." Mulan says proudly as she stands up.

"Speaking without permission." The Matchmaker says as Mulan follows her inside.

"Who spit in her bean curd?" Granny Fa asks as Alexis shakes her head.
