Luz was sleeping in her room. Her mom had allowed her stay in the Boiling Isles during the summer. Getting her to agree, alone, was harder than overthrowing the Emperor... but she's done that, so nothing was out of her realm of achievability. She felt her hand get pulled, but brushed it off. When it happened again, she was moved a little.
"Ugh, King, I'm trying to sleep." She grumbled.
Nothing happened for a couple minutes, then she was pulled of the bed that Eda totally didn't steal. She finally stood up and brushed herself off.
"I said I'm trying to-uh, hello?"
No one was there. She looked around her room, which actually looked like a room instead of storage closet. She was the only one in here. She put a hand on chin and stroked an imaginary beard. That's when she noticed the string's attached to her fingers.
"I... I have a soulmate?"
Eda told Luz about the Boiling Isle legend. On your Fifteenth birthday, you wake up with a string attached to your finger. The string will lead you to your soulmate. The Human Realm doesn't have this, so Luz instantly knows that this means her soulmate is on the Isles! Luz instantly ran downstairs.
"Well, if it isn't the Birthday girl." Eda said, "You look happy."
"I have a reason to be. I... have a Red String!"
"Well, congrats, Kid." Eda said.
Luz once asked if Eda had a Red String, she did. Both her and Lilith did. They don't like talking about it, something bad happened to them is what they said. Luz looked at her hand and quickly remembered that there were three other strings besides the one she's been focusing on.
"Hey, uh, Eda? What does it mean if you have four strings?"
Eda spit out her Apple Blood and looked at Luz.
"F-four?" Eda started laughing, "Kid, when did you get so lucky? Four string's mean you have four soulmates! I'd start following them, Kid."
Luz started following the string's and found them in the Boiling Isle's Park. That's where she saw the other end of the strings. Four girls, all with red strings on four of their finger's.
"Dios mío." She said.
The other's looked up and saw her.
"Oh, can this get any worse!" Boscha yelled.
"Calm down, Boscha." Amity said.
"Make me, Blight!"
Skara and Willow got in between the two before they got into a Witch's Duel. Luz's life just took an interesting turn. Luz walked a few feet away from them to figure out this situation.
"Okay, so, I do like Willow, but I don't know if I like her like that. Amity, I've had a crush on her for a year. Skara, she just a precious cinnamon roll, so being her soulmate isn't bad at all. And then there's, Boscha," Luz looked the Triclops that was glaring at her, "Oh, boy, this is going to be tough."
