This is the offering to Kadam Week 2013 prompt 5: Kadam find their movie/their movies duet.

Kurt was trying to sort his thoughts after being snowbound in the loft with Adam and the two harridans that were his friends.

Adam had been surprisingly resilient to the brand of crazy that filled Kurt's life, taking in stride Satan's abrasiveness, and Rachel's usual levels of craziness, and through it all he was the best company, did that count as a date?

If there was a thing that was making Kurt's head spin was the fact that haring his bed with Adam resulted in the best sleep he had since… probably since before his mom died, no nightmare, no Ambien needed, no restlessness, just warmth and peaceful rest.

He never had that with Blaine, and the whole concept was confusing, how could it be possible?

Adam had been full of surprises since the first time Kurt met him. Even now, after that heartfelt confrontation, when Adam asked him if he still loved Blaine, if he was just a rebound, before openly admitting of not being able to compete with a fantasy. But Adam had never been a rebound, and Kurt had been honest when he said he wanted desperately to move on.

Because Adam wasn't competing with a fantasy, only with a memory that was losing its shine once compared to the pure glorious ray of sunshine that the British man in front of him kept bringing into Kurt's life.

That afternoon had been spent walking hand in hand, checking out all the cinemas to see what could have been the sappiest most romantic love story movie that they could claim as their own.

After being unable to find one on that afternoon, though they did end up finding the one bakery with one of the best cheesecake Kurt could remember eating, and if Kurt was totally honest the best part of such good dessert was the fact that they shared it together. Adam offered him the very last bit, the best bit, because Adam was an optimist at heart and he had saved the central part for last, and the price for it? Allowing Adam to feed it to him and a cheesecake flavoured kiss. The brilliant smile he received for going through with the offer was totally worth blushing to the tip of his ears.

The first film they watched was suggested by Kurt because "I can't believe you've never watched the Princess Bride… That needs to be fixed pronto" though Adam at the end pointed out how neither of them would have been as naive as Buttercup believing Humperdinck. Kurt just ended up blushing as he was able perfectly able to mentally recast Adam as Wesley, himself and buttercup and Blaine as Humperdinck... And wasn't that casting already telling?

Adam then suggested A walk to remember, initially Kurt was not too thrilled about being centred around a pastor daughter, and when they reached the point to discover Jamie was sick Kurt dug his heels in, if they had discarded Rent because Angel died, no matter how sweet and romantic this story was, No Sir this wasn't going to be their movie.

In a pure silly move, Kurt put on the table The proposal, which was met with good humour and Adam dropping a tad bit of very comforting information, about the fact that with his dual citizenship such scenario would never happen for them so it was quickly discarded, despite having spent the entirety of its duration cuddling and making out.

Following the same teasing spirit, Adam suggested Tangled, at which Kurt's reaction was a raised questioning eyebrow promptly answered by Adam's imitation of Flynn's smothering look sending both of them in a fit of giggles.

It wasn't till later on, that evening, after dinner became an invite to stay the night. When they were laying together in Adam's bed, that Adam had whispered in Kurt's ear "Once she had the right occasion Rapunzel took her life in her own hands, once she opens up her eyes and saw, then she made the conscious choice of doing what she thought best despite all she had been taught before. She was scared and confused when she left the tower for the first time, but then she grew into herself. And I can see that same strength in you"

After that, it had become a game between the two. Other than the perfect excuse to keep having dates and spend time together, until one evening Kurt arrived home from work finding Adam at the loft looking stricken, the smell of a lovely dinner in the air.

And an over the top flower composition surrounded by boxes of deteniated tea all in flavors Kurt couldn't stand the smell of and he was pretty sure he had never seen Adam drink either.

Kurt put away his coat and went directly to kiss Adam ignoring everything else. "Hellu dear, what happened?" Adam returned the kiss but was still unease and tense as he waved his hand in the direction of the flower shop explosion. His silence was more than enough commentary to Kurt's ear and he could already form a pretty accurate guess on what that thing was.

Kurt sighed and nuzzled his face against Adam's neck and said on the sensitive skin "Lemme guess it was delivered here while you were preparing our dinner and it's one of Blaine's over the top fun and spontaneous gesture hmm?"

Adam snorted at the clear exasperation in Kurt's tone "I am having mixed feelings about the fact you were able to guess instantly who it was from without even having to check..."

Kurt half chuckled half snorted, "well it was easy, if you had flowers for me they wouldn't be arranged in what is decidedly a tacky, surely expensive and over the top composition... Had it been yours, they would have been flowers chosen with greater care for their scent both individual and combined with one another, their aesthetic and their meaning both as single flowers and as bouquet." Kurt rubbed one hand up and down Adam's back, glad to feel the tension slowly easing.

Kurt kept explaining "Also I might or I might not have overheard Satan telling Blaine off, mentioning my recent appreciation for an English teabag." That provoked an amused snort that Adam had no intention of containing, especially because then the unholy amount of the strangest, and worst quality to be honest, kinds of tea that came with the thing finally made more sense.

The tosser couldn't know was that, at a time when Adam still didn't have a key to the loft, one day had been raining so much that by the time he walked inside the building he had been completely soaked. And when Santana had seen him so drenched she had called Adam a sad soggy teabag. Starting to feel a whole lot better about the situation Adam kept listening to Kurt easy explanation.

"That none of the flavours I could see at first glance are nothing either of us would touch with a ten foot pole was another indicator. And If you add to that the fact that Blaine has a history and tendency of sending me flowers only every time he is begging for forgiveness. When the dimension of the bouquet and the frequency of how many are being delivered are directly proportional to how grave was the transgression he committed..."

Adam was starting to relax the longer Kurt cuddled and snuggled closer to him slowly and inconspicuously inching them toward the kitchen table until he found himself resting against it. Seeing how Kurt had finished Adam finally admitted quietly "I just didn't want to dispose of something that arrived for you, no matter how much I despised the fact your ex had the gall to send it, especially since you made it public knowledge that you moved on and left him in the past..."

And for a moment everything became crystal clear for Kurt, what he couldn't identify before in Adam's countenance was a mix of irritation, and maybe a tiny bit of insecurity. Adam had been burned before about Blaine inserting himself into Kurt's life and having literally everyone from Ohio, starting from Kurt's own family, enabling and supporting the intrusion. No matter how official Kurt had announced and told he was dating Adam...

It was true that Adam had been the one to teach Kurt about the value of talking to your partner rather than sing, but this called for stronger measures, in Kurt's opinion.

He wrapped one arm around Adam's waist, letting his hand slide inside the back pocket of Adam's pants, taking the opportunity to cop a feel. Kurt's other hand raised to caress and rest on Adam's cheek, gently making sure their eyes met, and once their gazes were locked Kurt pressed himself against Adam and started speaking with a soft smile.

"You think some teabags can compete with you? You think he's got one tiny fraction of your brains? Your looks? Your..."

Kurt sighed softly letting his incredulity, with a touch of righteous indignation at the mere idea the words proclaimed, ring in his own voice. Kurt led his hand in a languid demonstrative caress as if to point exactly to Adam what he was talking about. Moving his gentle touch from Adam's cheek, down his neck, across his shoulder and following Adam's arm until Kurt could link their fingers. Never stopping from looking into Adam's eyes Kurt started singing

"At words poetic, I'm so pathetic
That I always have found it best
Instead of getting 'em off my chest
To let 'em rest unexpressed."

Kurt raised their linked hand to guide and leave Adam's hand to rest on Kurt's chest before continuing singing

"I hate parading my serenading
As I'll probably miss a bar
But if this ditty is not so pretty
But least it'll tell you how great you are"

Kurt parted his legs enough to slide one between Adam's and then leaned forward, his lips parted into a teasing smile as he carried on, looking at Adam with love and admiration.

"You're the top
You're the Colosseum
You're the top
You're the Louvre Museum
You're a melody
From a symphony by Strauss
You're a Bendel bonnet
A Shakespeare sonnet
You're Mickey Mouse"

Adam's uneasiness finally fading away, the annoyance at Kurt's ex forgotten in favour of paying attention to his boyfriend's angelic voice and his sinfully delicious body being offered so teasingly…

"You're the Nile
You're the Tower of Pisa
You're the smile
On the Mona Lisa"

Kurt smiled after that line, lovingly passing his thumb on Adam's lips, working hard in the attempt of not breaking down into a moan when Adam captured it and alternated between

"I'm a worthless check
A total wreck, a flop
But if, baby, I'm the bottom
You're the top"

By the time Kurt reached the end of the verse, he had been singing barely a breath away from Adam's lips and his eyes had flickered often to Adam's mouth. But two could play the game, and if that was how Kurt wanted to play it, then who was Adam to deny the experience to the both of them? This was precisely why Adam leaned forward almost touching the skin on Kurt's neck as he started to sing the second verse of the song.

"Your words poetic are not pathetic
On the other hand, babe, you shine
And I can feel after every line
A thrill divine down my spine
Now gifted humans like Vincent Youmans
Might think that your song is bad
But I got a notion I'll second the motion
And this is what I'm going to add"

Adam tugged gently at the collar of Kurt's shirt letting his finger tracing figures on the exposed skin, as he moved his other hand to embrace his boyfriend and hold him securely. Once he was certain Kurt couldn't move far he started walking backwards toward Kurt's sleeping area grinning as he sang softly like his words were a promise.

"You're the top
You're Mahatma Gandhi
You're the top
You're Napoleon Brandy
You're the purple light
Of a summer night in Spain
You're the National Gallery
You're Garbo's salary
You're cellophane"

Adam let himself fall backwards on the bed, holding on Kurt keeping him firmly on top. Once they safely landed he slid both hands under Kurt's shirt and started working on slowly removing it, taking his time caressing the skin he was exposing. The shirt ended up on the floor soon after.

"You're sublime
You're a turkey dinner
You're the time
Of the Derby winner
I'm a toy balloon
That's fated soon to pop"

Adam punctuated that last word wiggling his eyebrows while lifting himself off the bed in a shallow thrust. Kurt's reaction was almost immediate, he muffled his moans against the skin of Adam's neck between kisses, as he pressed himself down slowly rocking his hips and grinding his trapped erection against Adam's.

"But if, baby, I'm the bottom
You're the top"

In complete fairness, Adam's voice only wavered and assumed a very breathless tone, but gladly this was not a midterm performance, just a private one, and all parties were decidedly more focused and interested in other parts of it. Parts that included a lot fewer clothes and a different kind of singing. Kurt decided that he wanted their evening to move forward. Kurt securely hooked his legs with Adam's and rolled them both on his side of the bed. Conveniently placing Adam on top of him, as Kurt started helping Adam relieve himself of his shirt to even the field, he hijacked the next verse efficiently taking them near the end of the song.

"But if, baby, I'm the bottom"

Adam grinned and easily went along with Kurt's plan, once his shirt was out of the way he took the chance to wrap his arms around Kurt, their chest meeting skin on skin as he rolled them both back to his own side of the bed. With Kurt on top of him, he grinned cheekily before singing breathlessly

"But if, baby, I'm the bottom"

Kurt chuckled softly starting playing with Adam's hair before he allowed himself to slide off his boyfriend choosing to snuggle on his side. Adam turned to face Kurt snuggling closer in the middle of their bed.

"But if, baby, I'm the bottom
You're the top"

They both barely finished the last words of the song that Adam closed the space between them with the kiss that has been dangled in front of him for way too long, it didn't matter that it had been no more than few minutes, but given the day he had earlier, it still hadn't been soon enough.

Thoughts of dinner were left behind. All their attention was on hands exploring and lips soothing worries.

Later on, Kurt would keep on claiming they still needed to find their movie. Firmly claiming that the You're the Top duet from Anything goes didn't count because they stuck with the theatre version and not the movie.

Adam found it amusing to indulge Kurt and happily kept up the tradition of searching for the sappiest love stories they could. And if from that day forward some of their friends wondered why, at apparently random times, the couple hummed or sang to each other alternatively lines from baby got back and you're the top.

Well, no one dared to ask, not if they actually took the time to notice the teasing grins stretching their lips or the mischievous glints in their eyes.
