Return of Bunny
A Powerpuff Girls Fanfic By: Richard G. Eubanks (Part of the What Felt Like Forever After Series)
Chapter 1: She's Back
(A/N: This takes place a few days after 'What felt like Forever'. This is my form of a continuation from the episode from the original series 'Twisted Sister'. One of my own characters are included in this, as well as the revived girls.)
Several Years Earlier...
"Oh no! She 'sploded!" Bubbles shouted.
"But why?" asked Buttercup.
"I guess she was unstable, and the blast broke her down into her original ingredients." Blossom stated.
"She was good after all. *Starting to cry* We were the ones who were bad." Bubbles solemnly added.
Several Years Later...
The city of Townsville! A week after the girls returned; and after Mojo left. As of now the girls were enjoying some time in their room; catching up on the things they've missed. Not much has happened since they left; and when they returned anything that Mojo had added to Townsville when he was in charge has all now been taken down. They were thinking about the other villains, and when they may just end up attacking again. Crime was postponed for a full week when the girls returned; and the Mayor returned to office. Today was the day they discover something amazing from their past...
*Cut to nighttime in the Professor's lab*
Down in the Professor's lab lies a plastic bag labeled 'Bunny'; containing purple/black fabric, artificial sweetener, dirt/twigs/'stuff', and whatever the girls thought were 'nice'. There was a beaker of Chemical X sitting far beyond its proximity. A strange black portal opened up in the lab; and out came a cryptic shadowy figure who was wrapped up in a completely black cloak; the only features of its face that showed were its orange eyes and purple forehead symbol.
"Well; it seems I've found the place I was looking for; and the items as well. I'm sure they won't mind if I take it for myself..." The figure said (A/N: Matter's text will be in bold). It took the plastic bag labeled 'Bunny' and the Chemical X beaker; what on Earth could it be doing? It left through the portal and ended up in a completely worn down building; with light seeping through the cracks and broken windows. The figure set the items down on a countertop next to a cauldron. "I guess it's time, to bring back... the fourth. Now let's see here... the artificial sweetener? No we can't have that!" With a snap of its jagged fingers the artificial sweetener magically transmogrified into sugar. "Throw that in, what's next? Dirt and twigs? Blech..." It snapped its fingers and turned the items into spice. "Much better. Everything nice; oh~ that'll be a cinch." By making a twirling motion with its fingers it brought over the random items the girls used and turned them into 'what truly is everything nice'. "I never knew how much fun this would be. But I must add in those cloth pieces; I want Bunny to come back the way the girls wished for her to look not the way she did look." He did as he said. "Now then; for the grand finale; Chemical X!" The figure poured it into the cauldron with a full smile and an angry look in its eyes. But it was happy nonetheless. Suddenly the cauldron started shaking! "Ooo~ it's happening!" You could tell it was ecstatic. An explosion occurred; pushing the cloak with its wind. "Ahh yes~ it went perfectly. Hello there! Do you know your name little one?" He asked the brown-haired, purple-eyed Powerpuff Girl. Bunny looked like how she did many years ago; but with a body that looked more like the girls', she didn't have those enormous lips and Igor-like posture; and she wore a dark purple scarf, similar to how Blossom wore a red one to go with her hairbow.
"I... don't... why? Do I have one?" She asked the shadowy figure.
"Why of course you do. Your name is Bunny. Nice to meet you." It said to the revived and 'purified' Powerpuff Girl.
"My name... is Bunny? What's yours'?" She then asked after questioning herself.
"I go by many names (that was a lie; it only goes by one) but you may refer to me as 'your dad'. But when talking about me or to me, just call me dad." It said.
"Okay... dad." Bunny was extremely nervous as much as scared. "Where am I?"
"Your new home of course. You and I will live here and provide each other company; while you also provide protection for this town." He ended his statement with a finger pointing outwards towards the city.
"I'm a hero?" Bunny asked.
"Your memory of your previous life has left you... but fear not; for I am here for you." It said in a loving tone; with the addition of its slightly distorted, but also understandable voice.
"Previous life?" Bunny asked.
"Do you know the Powerpuff Girls; Bunny? They made you first before me. But they didn't have the necessary ingredients needed to make you like them. They had to improvise. They, like you, are superheroes. But they couldn't handle all the work the three of them had to compensate with; they NEEDED a fourth. You were that fourth. I wish to meet with them to reveal my secret. My secret being you. I know they'll be confused at first; but I also know they'll be speechless when they see their 'deceased' sister return. I have high hopes for you Bunny; but remember this. 'Fight alongside them; never against them'." Its speech ended with it hugging onto Bunny.
"That was a lot to take in. But... I'll make you proud dad." Bunny explained.
"Thank you... my daughter. Now I'm going to pay your sisters/technically mothers a visit. Don't move from that spot." It reminded Bunny.
"I won't." Bunny promised.
The shadowy figure opened up a portal and travelled back to the Professor's lab. No one was there yet. "Darn I came too early. Oh well I'll just wait for them to arrive." The shadowy figure transformed into a fake hotline and started buzzing. The girls heard this from their room and came down to the lab; along with the Professor; but he only came along considering the fact he knew for a FACT that there was never a hotline in the lab.
"I don't remember that being here before." The Professor pointed out.
"That's new. Did the Mayor sneak in and place this here while we were sleeping? Bubbles asked.
"I'm not sure either. I'll just answer it." Blossom said. The hotline functioned like normal, but on the other end a distorted, but understandable voice was heard.
"Hello there~ and who is this that I am speaking to?" It asked.
"This is Blossom Utonium of the Pow-" She cut herself off. "-Hey wait a minute how did you get access to the hotline?" She then asked.
"Put the phone down now." The voice said.
She obliged; and the hotline suddenly transformed into the shadowy figure from earlier. Everyone was surprised by this. "Now relax all four of you; I mean you no harm. My name is Matter; I've come to deliver a 'voice message'." Said Matter.
"What's the message?" Buttercup asked.
"First I want to ask if you still have that bag of remains." Matter asked the girls.
"Bag of remains? You mean our fourth sister? We don't know where it is actually; it just mysteriously disappeared last night." Blossom answered to Matter.
"Oh yes it is true that it disappeared; I was hoping you'd tell me that. I would like to kindly ask you three to follow me into this portal." Matter told the girls.
"Hey wait a minute how do I know I can trust you bringing my daughters somewhere completely unknown?" The Professor asked Matter; apparently he wasn't listening earlier; for he was too confused by everything about Matter.
"Geez; when I say 'I mean you no harm', it clearly means I'm no villain." Matter got rather close to the Professor's face with an angry expression.
"We'll come with." Blossom told Matter.
"Good just follow me. I'm sure what I'm about to show you, will leave you asking many, many, MANY more questions than before." Matter stated. Then he, along with the girls walked into the portal; and it closed before the Professor could even get near it. "You can come out now my dearest daughter. They've arrived." Matter ordered.
A purple pair of eyes appeared out of the darkness by the doorway. She revealed herself to her dad and the girls. "Hi..." Bunny said; feeling extremely nervous.
"WHAT THE; BUNNY!? The girls shouted in surprise.
"Yes it's true. I've brought your fourth sister back from the dead; she's forgotten everything to my misfortune. I wish for you to treat her like the sister she technically is to you." Matter was being serious towards the Powerpuff Girls. "Bunny; why don't you and these three bond for a while? Pick up on the things you've missed? I've explained as much as I could; now it's their job to explain the rest." Matter's voice got dark and disturbing when the last three words came out. "Well goodbye for now. I'm going off to meet with a friend." Ending it on that note, he then went through a portal that closed up as soon as he entered it.
The atmosphere was so thick you can cut it with a knife. "So... um..." Blossom started; not knowing what to say.
"Do you um... want to... talk with us? Just for a while?" Buttercup asked; her right robotic arm holding her left arm.
"Sure." Bunny said simply. But she too didn't know what to say afterwards.
Bubbles looked like she was about to have a mental breakdown and then express it with words. *Few seconds pass* She was twitching. *Few more seconds pass* She was thinking of pulling her hair out. Not even a second passed afterwards and then she shot towards Bunny hugging her; bawling her eyes out. "I'VE MISSED YOU SO MUCH BUNNY!" She shouted; crying.
"Missed me? Was I gone?" Bunny asked.
"You've been gone for twenty one years..." Blossom told her.
"You saved us in a serious time of need. We were devastated when you suddenly exploded. We felt like monsters..." Buttercup stated.
"Wow; and all of that happened to me? Why don't I remember any of it?" Bunny asked her distraught sisters.
"I don't know. But if I could ask anyone; I'm sure they'd say the same." Blossom answered.
"This is kind of like the time The Rowdyruff Boys returned because of HIM." Buttercup butted in.
"Speaking of HIM. Whatever happened to him?" Blossom asked.
*Cut to Matter*
"My master... I've successfully completed the revival of the purple one. The girls are currently trying to gain her trust." No response. "I assume you're still angry at the return of Townsville's heroes?" Matter's eyes were then met by angry/happy looking green luminous eyes.
"Obviously. It's because of that dumb chimp's emotions that I no longer have peace for myself. Now that they're back; I'm on edge MORE THAN EVER!" HIM stated. (A/N: HIM's text is italicized).
"I understand your pain honest. It's just that I have a neutral view on those three. One view is that I find them as people I wouldn't mind becoming a friend of; and another view is telling me to hate them with every fiber of my being. I can't decide for myself." Matter stated.
"Well if that's the case~ I'LL DECIDE FOR YOU THEN!" HIM then shot a laser at Matter; which didn't do as intended; seeing as it phased right through him. Matter is a cryptic being indeed. But while he didn't feel the laser; he felt himself glitching.
"I-I-I believe I sh-sh-sh-should break away from yo-yo-your chains of e-e-e-evil-vil HIM!" Matter then used his power to create an escape portal. His body recovering as he travelled though. "I will not let Him take their lives; and I know he thinks I'm supposed to be 'using' Bunny to strike the girls down once more... but my mind has reopened. I know what I must do..." He told himself; his voice losing its distortion. "I must warn the girls..." Matter then arrived back to the abandoned home where he left the girls. He saw them sleeping on the floor. "I don't wish to wake them when they're sleeping peacefully... but I must tell them what's going to happen." Matter then turned his hand into a klaxon and set it off; alerting the girls and waking them. "I didn't want to do it either but I need to warn you; something big is coming and you need to be ready for it."
"What's coming?" Bunny asked.
"The greatest evil the world has ever faced. You three... er... four, are going to take a final stand against HIM. He's planning to unleash a doomsday upon Townsville; I'm willing to help you in any way possible."
"HIM is always thinking strategically; using common sense would lead me to think he's currently listening to our conversation." Buttercup stated.
"Perhaps you didn't know I am of equal strength. I'm currently creating a field that disables his ability to watch over us." He stated. "Now I want this to go down correctly; *clears throat* here's what I want you four to do." He whispers his plans to them.
"I think we'll able to manage that." Blossom stated.
"Oh and I want to enlist the help of your Professor as well. I have a special job for him. Does he still have the DYNAMO?" Matter asked.
"Of course he does. He insists on keeping it; why do you ask?" Bubbles stated and then asked.
"I'm going to make the robot better." Matter stated. He then opened a portal to the lab; and went through it. "Professor Utonium. I come bearing a question." Matter told the Professor.
"What is it?" The Professor asked.
"Are you willing to help your daughters save this city?" Matter asked.
"What are you implying?" The Professor asked.
"I don't know what are you inferring?" Matter asked back.
"That a great evil is threatening to destroy all of Townsville 'for good'; and you want my help." He pretty much hit the nail on the head with that.
"Get the DYNAMO Utonium, we're going to do some operations on her." Matter told him.
"The DYNAMO? You want to upgrade it?" The Professor asked.
"I'll do as much as I can to turn it into a greater fighting machine. She'll be fighting fit in no time." Matter assured him.
"How long will this take exactly?" The Professor asked.
"A literal minute." He responded.
*Jumpcut to a minute later*
"I'm impressed. The addition of stronger armor really does work wonders; and the arm blades are supposed to give it an 'edge' in combat I assume?" The Professor asked.
"I'm ignoring that pun you made; but yes." Matter assured him.
"Then what's the point of the shades?" He then asked.
"To make it look cooler. Same with its unusable wings on its back. Oh and the rings around its arms." Matter told him. "Oh and you'll be piloting it."
"I've always wanted to take it for a test spin. Is there any secrets I should know about it?" The Professor then asked.
"There's a gem in its forehead that creates a frontal shield; COMPLETELY IMPENETRABLE!" He explained ecstatically.
"And what about the girls?" He then asked.
"They're discussing over a plan to defeat the villain we'll soon fight against." Matter said with a determined voice. "I can only hope that when this is put into action... it'll all be worth it in the end."
"What exactly ARE you Matter?" The Professor suddenly asked.
"I'm many things; but what I truly am is an interdimensional traveler. I'm the owner of my own dimension; population: me." Matter explained. "It's a place where only I exist. No rules, no friends, no family... so I travel to other worlds. My motives being based on the people I see or meet." He continued. "Your daughters made me want to help others here. So that's what I'm doing."
"You really are something aren't you?" The Professor asked.
"I'm aware." Matter responded. "But enough about me. We should be preparing for this as well." Matter reminded the Professor.
"Right. Well then; I'm willing to do this. So, what's the plan?" The Professor asked.
"It goes a little something like this..." Matter started.
