Now, this is a multiple crossover as all the guardians of the Chaos Emeralds are coming together. :)

An Easter Of Togetherness

Isabel woke up to a sunny morning on Earth. A little over two weeks ago, the Cyan Emerald picked Balan as its protector, so the habit of waking up to getting dressed and searching for the Chaos Emeralds was a feeling that was gonna take a while to shake off. Since she knew she was in no rush, she sat up and went to make breakfast for herself, finally taking time for herself and letting it on easy.

She sipped her milk after making eggs and bacon for herself as she sat at the table. Usually she'd be stuffing her mouth with an apple or a toasted English Muffin before leaving for her search, but she no longer had to worry as she looks at her Chaos Emerald sitting north of her plate while a smile was on her face.

She held it in her hand and looked at its flat face surface, seeing her reflection in the gem. "I hope everyone is having a good morning," she said before an idea came to her. Maybe today she should let the protectors meet. Balan and Marvin got acquainted with each other, so why not let the others meet too? They deserved to know each other. Yet she knew the risk of what happens when all seven Emeralds are together, but as long as they don't use their Emerald's power, they should be fine. Besides, she hadn't taught them how to activate Super form yet so there shouldn't be a risk of the Emeralds splitting again.

Isabel took her time finishing breakfast before putting her empty plate and cup in the empty dishwasher before going into her room to get clean clothes together and took them with her in the bathroom with her own clean bath towel to shower.

Once she was refreshed and redressed, she put her dirty clothes in her hamper and let her towel air dry. She used her Warp Ring to go to Angel Island and saw Chaos guarding the Master Emerald at his shrine. As she walked up to the steps, she could tell he was in a good mood since he didn't look angry.

"Hello, Chaos, long time no see," she says before kneeling down to the deity's height. The two hugged each other and she looked at his green alien like eyes. Chaos was a living being made of water and can hold his body together with ease, but sometimes facial expressions are hard to see since water was clear. Yet Isabel didn't need to see that since she was familiar with Chaos and could tell her presence was welcome.

"Well buddy, our plan worked," she told him. "All seven Emeralds are in good hands and out of Eggman's reach. But I think it's time for them to meet each other, don't you think so?"

The diety nodded in response before looking into her brown eyes and she could detect pride towards her. Maybe the fact she had grown up and took matters into her own hand when the Emeralds had split after that mission to stop Eggman and Kaos. It was hard to tell since Chaos can't talk like she could.

Then an idea came to her mind. "We should invite them to celebrate Easter together here. Easter is a fun and joyful holiday so everyone will be in a good mood, don't you think so?" She asked him.

She could tell he was pondering with her suggestion before nodding in agreement. "Yay, this is gonna be fun! I hope everyone will get along together. Because this is gonna be the greatest Easter ever!" She said excitedly and she could tell he was excited too. "Thank you, Chaos!" She said before planting a kiss on his face. "You won't regret this!" She then used the Warp Ring back to home.

Chaos was in minor shock from the kiss but despite not having a mouth, he was smiling on the inside.

Isabel immediately called Rachel and Jamie to make Easter plans before she put them into action, as both her Portal Master friends were immediately on board with the plan. She told Marvin, Balan, Rey and Bocoe that she was having a Get Together on Easter. They were ecstatic despite Rey being the only person that never celebrated Easter because it was unheard of in her world. But she became interested of the holiday and was willing to celebrate with them.

After inviting them days in advance, the Portal Masters got together to get supplies for Easter. Isabel already had her part already done as she made over a hundred jeweled eggs since New Years Day. She wanted to make Easter special by giving a handcrafted unique jeweled egg, a permanent egg that can't be eaten or spoil. She collected a lot of gold and jewels from Skylands to make this possible.

As she was exploring Skylands to find more jewels, she found a thin slab of stone in a square shape. An idea came to mind as she took it back to her house by the Academy. She cleaned the dirt and sand off before sanding down one side of the slab.

She painted her right hand purple from palm to tips and gently placed her hand in the middle of the slab. She wanted this to be something that the future descendants would look upon of the Seven Chosen Ones. Those who are guardians of the seven Chaos Emeralds united together in harmony to protect their worlds and others of the dangers of evil.

"Let history be written," Isabel said to herself as she washed her hand of the paint. "Let it be remembered in future times. That hope and peace will live on in our descendants, to remember us as their heroes that carved the path to their future. And I pray that trust will live among them, because I fear for those who will watch over the Chaos Emeralds when we're gone. In hope that there's no war over the gems, because power brings corruption in others including fear, let this slab be a reminder of those in the future to believe in harmony." Then she blinked and smiled at her little speech before getting another idea in her head of another project.

Easter morning came and Isabel got dressed with her family. Last night, other than working on her secret project, she got her Portal Master friends, except Crystal because she's a kid and Isabel didn't want her to know where all the eggs are hidden, help to scatter her jeweled eggs on Angel Island. Even Knuckles decided to help.

Everyone got dressed and Crystal was so excited as she wore a cute Easter themed outfit. When all the Portal Masters teleported to Angel Island and Knuckles made breakfast for a lot of mouths and helpings. "Thanks Knux," Isabel said, giving him a hug. "Where are the others?"

"Not here yet, but Team Dark is with me. They helped me make breakfast for everyone, and I told Rouge not to touch any of the eggs but she couldn't help herself," Knuckles told her.

Isabel chuckled, knowing Rouge was a jewel thief and couldn't help nabbing anything shiny and pretty.

"It's fine as long as it's just one," she told him. "If she took most to all of them, then I might be a little peeved at her."

They heard someone teleporting to Angel Island using a Chaos Emerald. Everyone looked and saw Balan teleporting in with Emma, Leo and Lance.

The kids lit up at seeing their friends and ran up to Isabel and she hugged them but both she and her friends were surprised to see Lance himself. "Hi kids," she said gently to them. "My friend here made breakfast so if you're hungry, there's plenty to eat." The kids thanked Knuckles before running off to go eat.

"So, this is Lance?" Isabel asks Balan, recognizing the tendriled being from clips off of YouTube of the two fighting.

"Lance?" Knuckles asked before looking at Balan. "Wait, Sonic and Cream told me about you. You're Balan, aren't you?"

The maestro nodded. "Yes, and Lance is a close friend of mine," he said.

"Sometimes frienemies," Lance admitted. "I'm his yin to his yang. Tragedy to comedy type of shtick."

Knuckles had a curious look on his face. "So... you're evil then?" He asked.

"When I want to be," was the reply.

"So does that make you chaotic neutral?" Isabel asked as Rachel, Jamie, and Crystal hugged Balan, who returned their hugs warmly.

Lance gave her a confused look as he tilted his head to the side questionably. "What's chaotic neutral?" He asked her gently.

"It's an alignment thing of good, evil or in between. Chaotic neutral means you follow your own heart and shirk rules and traditions. You value your freedom first, good or evil comes second to your needs to be free," she explained to him.

She saw him give a faint smile. "That does sound like me. I could choose to be good or evil on a whim, like today I chose to be good to celebrate Easter with everyone while there's an off-chance I could flip the switch and steal the Chaos Emeralds for myself," Lance said, his eyes quickly darting towards Balan before looking back at Isabel. "But I can't do that because he's here."

Balan chuckles in amusement, looking at his counterpart. "You can try, but I know that you know better than to do that, Lance," he said to his frienemy, putting a gloved hand on Lance's shoulder.

"I trust him, Balan. Even if he's supposed to the yin to your yang," Isabel said sweetly before hugging Lance. "And I love him as equally as I love you."

Lance's face blushed red and he gingerly hugged Isabel back. "Thank you, miss. I honestly thought that someone wouldn't like me as equally as others do with Balan. I know I can be evil sometimes but that doesn't mean I don't care about others," he said as she smiled.

"I'm Isabel but you can call me Izzy," she said. "There's food if you want it, more people should be coming. But...I hope there's no trouble though with them coming."

"I'm sure they'll be along soon, Izzy," Rachel said with a smile as she then heard Crystal giggle. "Jamie, are you sure you didn't give Crystal a chocolate rabbit earlier? Because she's way more hyper than usual."

"Nope, not me," he said with a grin. "But...I think she mentioned something about Espio giving her some chocolate."

The Tech/Fire Portal Master gave a playful groan of exasperation. "Of course he did," she said without heat. "Remind me to get him back later."

Isabel chuckled, which told the others that Rachel was only playing while Crystal giggled again before Rey and Marvin arrived and introductions were made before they all headed off to eat breakfast.

Down on Möbius' surface...

Bocoe, Decoe and Bokkun were getting ready to leave their house as the robots were wearing nice decent clothes for the holiday and Bokkun was finding his Easter basket for the hunt with Decoe helping him. Bocoe sighed happily as he drank a can of oil carefully so it didn't drip any on his nice white shirt.

"Finally, everything is right again," he said happily before putting a hand on his chest over the Chaos Emerald. "And after many years, I'm glad to have this back with me."

He felt the warm glow of the white Emerald as it was agreeing with him. Then he heard the familiar sounds of Eggmobile in the distance and huffed in annoyance. "Of course, I forgot. Easter is Ivo's favorite holiday so of course he'll try to start something."

Bocoe quickly took off his shirt and pants, folding them nicely and placing them on their kitchen's island as his drink sat by the sink on the opposite side of the island. He ran outside and faced his ex-master. "Hello Ivo," He ground out in an annoyed tone.

"Treacherous scrap," Eggman said in the same tone when he approached his old robot. "I see you found your old gem."

Bocoe growled as he stood strong. "I should eat you for sending a mercenary after me. He almost killed Bokkun while holding him captive," he snarled.

"It's a shame he didn't, oh well," Eggman said before smirking. "I can always finish the job." He activated his missiles and Bocoe formed a force field around himself and the base for protection. The missiles hit the field and exploded on contact, not dealing any damage.

"My turn!" Bocoe says before becoming a giant and grabbing Eggman's Eggmobile.

He gently grabbed his ex-master out before crushing the Eggmobile in his hand carefully as his fingers broke it away piece by piece, like an egg, as he observed the machine and moved the pieces around. He then saw his ex-master frown as Bocoe saw a remote controlled bomb hidden away within. "Clever, you knew I would try to eat it. Seeing your smug face gave it away, especially since you didn't put up much of a fight. And I also know all of your tricks, Ivo, so you can't fool me."

"Since when did you get so smart?" Eggman asked him so sarcastically.

"The day I decided to cut eggs out of my life," Bocoe said rudely as they glared in each other's eyes. Bocoe then put his ex-master down gently, though he wanted to do worse. "I suggest you leave before I change my mind about eating you."

The doctor ran off and Bocoe shrank back down to normal size after destroying the bomb and eating the scraps and then went back into his home. He continued to drink his oil until Decoe and Bokkun approached him, seeing he was out of his clothes.

"Oh hey, why did you change out?" Decoe asked.

"Other than having a drink and not wanting to stain my clothes, HE showed up," Bocoe explains. "I took care of it though."

"Good, because I don't want him to ruin the surprise Izzy has for us," Decoe says.

"There's a surprise for us?" Bokkun asked excitedly.

"Yeah! She has something special for us," Bocoe said, standing up and reaching out his hands. Both took his hands and he teleported them up to Angel Island.

Bokkun squeaked as he suddenly stopped hovering from the teleporting since he wasn't used to it and Bocoe realized he had accidentally sent them all floating. "Oh, dear," he said.

"Yikes!" Decoe cried out in surprise.

Hearing that startled cry, Rachel looked up and saw the three and gasped, quickly activating her telekinesis, catching the two robots, but Bokkun was diving about too crazily for her to catch him. "Balan, can you catch him?" She asked, gesturing over to the small being who was headed right for the maestro.

With a smile, Balan leapt into the air and reached out, catching the small creature in his hands and quickly pulling him close to his chest, cradling him protectively as the tall being floated back down to the ground as Rachel gently set down Bocoe and Decoe, who gave her grateful looks. "Thanks," Bocoe said before looking sheepish. "Guess I still need a bit of work with teleporting with the Emerald."

Rachel smiled gently. "You'll soon get it," she said. "I'm still working on how to teleport with mine and I've had a few mishaps." She chuckled. "Like scaring the daylights out of Knuckles when I suddenly teleported into his room and landed on him while he was sleeping."

Sonic, who was nearby, laughed. "I remember that," he said. "Set off all the alarms with Knuckles' shout of alarm."

The blonde-haired girl blushed in embarrassment, to which Balan gently chuckled. "We're all learning," he said gently as he revealed that Bokkun was okay. The small creature floated and looked relieved to be okay.

"Thanks," he said before seeing Isabel and he gave a happy squeak. "Izzy!" He said, flying up to her and glomping her.

The Undead Portal Master chuckled as she hugged him back. "Hey, Bokkun," she said before seeing the two robots. "Any trouble from you-know-who?"

"Just a little, but Bocoe took care of him," Decoe said with a smile.

"Good," Rachel said, her face hardening. "I still haven't forgotten how he separated us during our mission to foil that evil amusement park."

Sonic placed a hand on her shoulder. "He learned quick that we weren't giving up," he said with a smile.

The rest of the day was going well, but just as Isabel was about to announce the Easter Egg hunt after making sure that Rouge had indeed only taken one, laughter that the Portal Masters, Mobians, and Balan recognized filled the air. "Kaos!" Crystal cried out in warning.

The seven Chaos Emerald guardians jumped up, ready to use their Emeralds. "Let me guess, this Kaos is evil?" Rey asked.

"You got that right," Rachel said.

"He's as dangerous as he is unpredictable," Jamie said. "We can't underestimate him."

Marvin pulled out his ray gun, having heard about Kaos from Isabel. "Ready when you guys are," he said.

All seven gripped their Emeralds. "Careful, guys," Isabel said in caution. "Too much power might cause the Emeralds to overload and scatter again."

"Okay, then, no using all seven at once," Rachel said. "Double team and cover each other."

Nodding, the others got ready as Kaos unleashed his attacks, but as they went to attack him, he teleported away. "You might want to think twice about that, Rachel," he said with a nasty smirk before lifting a hand. A energy field appeared and inside was a small robot child, one the Portal Masters recognized too well.

"Speedlight!" Jamie said, worried for his nephew.

Rachel felt her blood boil as Kaos laughed. "That energy field will pull him apart with a snap of my fingers," he said.

The Tech/Fire Portal Master glared at him. "LET. MY. SON. GO!" She demanded, activating her Skyelemental Powers.

But every hit seemed to be bounced back and Kaos laughed evilly as nothing the group threw at him worked, not even their own Emeralds. "This isn't good!" Crystal said. "Nothing's working!"

Kaos laughed again. "My new counterspell is working so well," he gloated. "I'm untouchable!"

"No," Rachel said softly as she slowly got up from where Kaos had knocked her down into the ground, knocking her out of her Skyelemental form. Balan helped her up and she gave him a grateful look before looking at Speedlight, who looked at her, fear in his eyes.

"Mama!" He cried out.

"Hang on, Speedlight," she said softly before looking at the others. "What can we do? Any attack just bounces off."

"That's right!" Kaos crowed. "Nothing will work. Not your Skyelemental powers and not even your Chaos Emeralds! I've thought of everything!"

As he continued laughing and hope seemed lost, Lance had an idea and went up to Rachel, placing a hand on her shoulder. "There is a way," he said, looking at her with his blue eyes.

She looked at him and knew what he was talking about. Setting her jaw, she took a deep breath and pulled out her red Emerald, taking his hand and placing the gem in it. "Do it. And don't make me regret trusting you," she said firmly.

Everyone was shocked that the girl was doing this, taking such a chance like that. "Rach, no!" Jamie cried out, making a move to stop her.

"Rach!" Isabel cried out, but before she and Jamie could get close, they felt hands gently grasp their arms and they looked to see it was Balan holding them back.

"Wait," he said gently before they could protest. "There's a certain meaning behind her words. I can sense it."

"A certain meaning?" Jamie asked in confusion.

"What could it be?" Isabel asked.

"Let's watch and see," Balan said, keeping his gaze steady on Rachel as he could sense that her positivity was returning, but she seemed to be ready for something.

Lance looked at her, surprised, but then nodded, reaching out a tendril and it touched the young woman's shoulder. "Transform," he said to her.

A sound similar to that of a bull roaring filled the air as they all watched Rachel arch her back as she transformed into a giant bull with purple skin and neon designs. A metal mask was on her head and Jamie and Isabel gasped in shock. Emma and Leo looked at bit worried at this.

"He's made her into a negative being," Emma said, shivering a little.

Espio gently hugged her, feeling a bit worried for Rachel.

Crystal came up to Balan and looked at him worriedly and he gazed at her, smiling reassuringly. "Don't worry, little one," he said. "I'm keeping a careful eye on your sister."

"Balan...what if...?" Isabel began to ask.

"Have faith in Rachel, my dear," he said gently. "There's a reason she let Lance negatize her."

Kaos didn't look so assured now as Rachel roared and charged, her new powers making her invulnerable to Kaos' attacks, but he couldn't stop her as she made him go flying with a toss of her horns and bucked him off the island and back to Skylands. As soon as Kaos was gone, the force field around Speedlight went away and he looked up at the monster his mother had become, looking at her worriedly.

Lance noticed the boy before looking at the red Chaos Emerald in his hand. "Child," he said, addressing Speedlight. "How much do you love your mother?"

Speedlight drew himself up and looked at the tendriled being. "I love Mama no matter what she looks like, because deep down, she's still my mom."

The being was surprised, but also pleased with the boy's answer. "Even if she stays like this forever?" He asked.

Everyone was now a bit worried, except for Balan. "Wait," he said gently to them. "He's testing Speedlight."

The young robot looked up at Lance, his blue eye bright. "Yes," he said with absolute firmness.

Nodding at the child's answer, Lance snapped his fingers, transforming Rachel back to normal. Her legs gave way and she sat down a bit hard on the ground, exhausted from the battle, but still standing for the most part. Speedlight raced up to her. "Mama!" He cried out, glomping her as she caught him, managing to not get knocked over at the boy hugged her harder. "Mama, are you okay?" He asked worriedly.

"I'm okay, mijo," she said to him.

Lance came up to them and helped Rachel up, letting her lean against him as Speedlight helped her stay upright too. The tendriled being looked at the Emerald in his hand. "You took a big risk on trusting me that way," he said to the blonde-haired woman.

She smiled at him. "Because I believe you're an opportunist, Lance, not evil," she said. "And I'm sticking with that because I've seen your actions."

He was surprised at that, but gave her back the Emerald. "You have a lot of confidence in me," he said softly.

Rachel smiled. "Confidence you proved was not misplaced," she said.

He smiled gently before he and Speedlight began helping her towards the others. Isabel came forward and gave the Tech/Fire Portal Master a magical orange to restore her health, to which the young woman gave her a grateful look. "Thanks, Izzy," she said, eating the orange and feeling her strength returning instantly.

Just then, the rest of their friends from Skylands arrived and Jamie smiled. "Let's continue the celebration," he said and that was met with nods of agreement.

Isabel smiled. "Time for the Easter Egg hunt," she said.

Rey smiled as she heard the kids cheer happily. "It's good to see little ones so happy," she said. "It's a welcome sight."

Marvin smiled. "I couldn't agree more," he said.

After a full day of activities, evening came and Isabel took the rest of the guardians to see Master Eon, who smiled as he listened to Isabel's idea and he nodded, writing the speech she had prepared on a scroll and framing it before taking the stone slab and nodding, seeing that Isabel's purple handprint was already on it. The others, seeing what Isabel had in mind, nodded.

The Undead Portal Master looked at Marvin. "Can you remove your glove?" She asked gently.

Nodding, he did so, allowing her to paint his left hand green and he placed it on the slab next to her own print. Jamie was next with his blue handprint, Rey with her yellow one, Bocoe with his white handprint, and Balan removed the glove on his left hand to allow Isabel to paint it cyan and he added his print to the slab. Rachel was last as she let her friend paint her hand red and her print soon joined the others as Master Eon smiled and put both in the Academy where they could be seen. "Well done," he said to them. "All of you."

All seven smiled before looking at each other. Marvin was first to move and place his right hand out to them all with his palm facing the floor. Isabel placed her hand on top of his, Bocoe's hand joining the stack a moment later while Jamie placed his hand over Bocoe's. Rey gently placed her hand over the boy's hand and Rachel put her hand over Rey's hand before Balan's hand covered hers, completing the stack. "With this bond, we unite," Marvin began.

"As both friends and family," Isabel said.

"Against all evil," Bocoe said.

"Never giving up," Jamie said.

"And never giving in," Rey said.

"Nothing can break this bond," Rachel said.

"As long as we all stand together," Balan said, finishing the vow before all seven took a deep breath and spoke as one.

"With this vow, we promise to always use our Emerald powers for good."

The seven colors of the seven Chaos Emeralds swirled around them before fading away gently and Balan smiled. "I never dreamed that I'd be part of something as big as Wonderworld when I first came to Skylands," he said.

The others chuckled and agreed quietly. "It's been quite an adventure," Isabel said. "I remember when I first came to Skylands and when I first met Rachel. She had just started out with the Trap Team."

"And then more of us came," Rachel said with a smile. "We've learned a lot over the years."

"And are still learning," came Lance's voice as they turned to see him and he was looking at Rachel and Isabel, floating over until he stood before them. "You two have seen what I can do, yet you look past what I am," he continued. "Isabel, you see me as a friend and Rachel, you trusted me without hesitation. You both are of only a few that would do that."

Both smiled at him and noticed he smiled back at them. "I have something for both of you," he said. "Close your eyes."

At his gentle request, both did as he asked and felt his fingers gently touch their foreheads, which tingled a little, but not painfully. "Open your eyes," he said softly.

The two women did so and saw a mirror before them and they gasped softly at seeing the same heart-shaped mark on their foreheads that Lance bore on his own forehead. The mirror vanished and he smiled at them gently. "Whenever I detect your emotions are negative or you call my name, I'll be there to help," he promised.

Balan smiled. "I knew you were getting a soft spot for them and the others," he said.

Lance looked at him, but didn't deny it. Rachel and Isabel looked at each other before nodding and they each took one of Lance's hands, placing his hands over the Emeralds they guarded and to Lance's surprise, a gold pin with a purple gem in the middle appeared on his suit and he looked at the girls in surprise.

Rachel smiled at him. "A gift from both of us," she said.

"To remind you that just as you have Balan for a friend, you've got us for friends too," Isabel said before both girls hugged him. Lance hugged them back, a few tears escaping his eyes and gently falling down his face.

The others smiled as they watched this, not seeing Master Eon, Sonic, Knuckles, and Chaos watching them all from the distance. The guardian of Skylands smiled. "The Chaos Emeralds could not have chosen better guardians," he said.

"I agree," Knuckles said with a nod.

"Totally," Sonic said, also nodding.

Chaos nodded as well.

The seven Emeralds were safe and the seven guardians had formed the tightest bond of friendship by sticking together through thick and thin, never giving up no matter what.
