A World Without Charlie Brown (Part 3)

CHAPTER 1: MEANWHILE BACK IN SPARKYVILLE…

"Charlotte Braun is also in Kansas City?!" asked Linus. He was on a Zoom chat with Charlie Brown. He was telling Linus about the new friends he had made there.

"She is, Linus," said Charlie Brown. "It made it easier to meet new kids here. And get this. A girl named Abigail is interested in me!"

"Really?!"

"Yeah! Now I know Peppermint Patty and Marcie were liking me, as well, but Marcie, while being a sweet girl, I think of as a good friend. The same with Peppermint Patty, and in addition, also because of her, well…"

"Being a bit too brash sometimes?"

"Well, yeah. I always considered her a friend, but never a girlfriend type. She could insult me and be insensitive, though not to the extremes of Lucy, Violet, and Patty, but still hurtful nonetheless."

"I totally get it, Charlie Brown."

"Plus it's different from the little red-haired girl. She never knew I existed, but from Day One, Abigail showed she was interested in me."

"Well, I'm happy for you, Charlie Brown. This just proves that not everyone thinks you're a loser. And loud voice aside, Charlotte Braun has been a good friend to us in the past, as well." At that moment, Lucy walked in to the room.

"Who are you talking to, Linus?" she asked.

"Well, um…" Linus stammered until Charlie Brown interjected.

"It's all right, Linus," he said. "I WANT her to know what's been going on."

"Well hello, Charlie Brown," Lucy said with a smirk. "Has anyone found out how wishy-washy you really are in Kansas City, yet?"

"On the contrary, Lucy, I have made a few friends already," said Charlie Brown. "I also reunited with an old friend of ours who happens to be here. You remember Charlotte Braun?"

"YOU'RE KIDDING?!"

"I kid you not! Also, I have a girl who happens to like me very much named Abigail. She likes me for me and we are actually going to the movies this weekend."

"CHARLIE BROWN HAVING PEOPLE WHO LIKE HIM?! AND A POTENTIAL GIRLFRIEND?" Lucy went out ranting and raving. Linus and Charlie Brown laughed.

"Well, that was fun!" said Charlie Brown. "Did you see the look on her face when I said I had a girl interested in me?"

"The question is, how could you have missed it?!" laughed Linus. "Anyway, I better get off here. It's almost time for dinner. I'll talk to you soon, Charlie Brown."

"See you later, Linus."
