This is a lighter, less complicated, less intense story than what I usually write. It's a plot I want to get out of my head and in the open (hopefully) to the enjoyment of a few readers. It will be rather short and I will aim for shorter chapters in order to have faster updates. As always, my story contains sexual content. I like Sasuke and Naruto as strong, hot people, no matter if I write Naruto as female or male. And why have such attractive characters if not to make them hot for each other? :)
I don't own the original production of Naruto or the characters. However, I am trying to remedy the terrible (in my opinion) ending of canon. Reviews keep me motivated and generate faster updates. I appreciate your support - let's spread some Sasuke/FemNaruto love!
Chapter 1
Posted March 31st, 2021
Sasuke took the dark blue stethoscope and clipboard out of his backpack. It was going to be a long day today and an even longer week. But that was okay. Sasuke liked getting things done and over with fast rather than slower and over longer periods of time. He had graduated high school early, got his bachelor's degree in two years, and was now in his first year of medical school, being the youngest in his class at the age of 19. That wasn't surprising, though – the prestigious medical school had accepted his application and overlooked his young age due to his demonstrated academic success, maturity, and the previous success of his brother Uchiha Itachi who demonstrated to everyone in the institution just what Uchihas were made of.
Sasuke frowned. He loved and admired his brother but still wanted to outperform him even in one area. Sasuke was still in discussion with the administration at his school to find and approve a way for him to graduate faster from medical school, although he was being met with resistance so far. Something about him needing to keep on track with his clinicals and classmates and the boards having set dates that could not be moved. It was all administrative bullshit. Did they not know who the Uchiha were? That's okay – he would excel in all of his courses and then they would have no choice but to recognize that the established curriculum would only slow him down.
Several classmates had approached Sasuke to invite him to their study groups, but he had declined. He didn't need anyone to help him, and he certainly did not want to waste any time pulling weak students. Competition is there to weed out the weak, and Sasuke was looking forward to it. His classmates weren't on his level, either way. Sasuke was going to stay focused and do what he came for – something which came to Uchihas easily – and was going to graduate fast and with honors just like his brother had.
Sasuke fingers through his hair and straightened up the collar of his doctor's coat. He was now almost at the end of his first year of medical school. The last few months had been devoted to intense studying of anatomy, then three to six weeks of focused studying on each primary system - nervous, integumentary, reproductive, etc. Sasuke's cohort was now at the point where they felt they had all the knowledge there could possibly be, and many were freaking out about possible diseases and disorders they may have, their constant anxiety perpetuated by constant information overload and everyday testing.
The curriculum was now at the point where their knowledge was going to begin to be tested by exposing the students to patient interactions. It is a tradition in medical school to practice any new procedures on manikins or cadavers and to practice patient interactions and scenarios with actors first before going into actual clinicals.
Sasuke wasn't nervous when it came to his knowledge and abilities being tested. But he was also going to be rated on bedside manner and exchanging pleasantries wasn't the first quality Uchihas were associated with. Sasuke had shadowed his brother at his position as the head hospitalist at the university's hospital and was disgusted by the way some patients threw themselves at him and talked to him suggestively, some of them even propositioning him and forgetting the pity state they were in. Or saying dumb things. Or being downright crazy and having crazy families. And somehow, Itachi always managed to be professional and respectful and guide the conversation in a productive direction.
Sasuke folded his stethoscope and put it in his coat pocket. Despite the very close brotherly relationship he had with Itachi, he didn't like thinking that Itachi was better than him at something.
"Are you coming, Uchiha, or are you going to brood all day?" A voice came from next to Sasuke – a guy whose name was Suigetsu was passing by next to him (Sasuke only knew the guy's name because teachers always told him to be quieter during lecture and Sasuke had labeled the guy as incredibly annoying on the very first day). Sasuke recognized the guy as someone who had tried to approach him several times already and found him annoying with his white hair and that one sharp tooth. Suigetsu draped a stethoscope around his neck and instantly climbed up in Sasuke's list of most annoying people. He just hated people who wore their stethoscopes around their necks to be flashy.
Sasuke followed his classmates into the clinical lab where different beds with separation curtains were set up to accommodate different actors playing out different scenarios.
"Okay good morning students," the head clinical instructor spoke and gathered everyone's attention with her loud voice. Sasuke again thought how inappropriate her large breasts were. He had heard of the amazing doctor she was, but somehow couldn't fully respect her yet with her pigtails and large cleavage. "I trust you all were good ducklings and read the email on how this is all going to work and did the preparation work. The actors have all already taken place. There are eight actors, eight scenarios, and eight students in this clinical group today. Each one of you will engage with each actor and attempt to find out what is wrong with them while keeping an appropriate bedside manner. Since this is your first time today, we have chosen more common, non-emergent conditions for you to work with. You are allowed to do a physical examination on the actors, just like on a real patient visiting a clinic. No pelvic or breast exams today. Mental health will also not be addressed today, and we will not have other actors playing patients' families at this point. This will come up next week. Keep it standard and be on the lookout for details and you will be successful. There are no tricks and today's work will not be graded, although we will be gathering our observations and impressions. Starting tomorrow is when we will begin grading."
Tsunade's assistant instructor, Dr. Shizune, followed,
"Welcome students! Let's have a good day together and not stress out too much. Get in line and come grab a piece of paper with a number from this bucket – the number will correspond to a section with the same number and that would be the first scenario you will engage in, then you will just rotate with the person next to you. Dr. Senju and I will be walking around checking on you and available to answer questions. There are several TAs who will also be there to watch and assist you. Good luck and don't overthink it!"
Sasuke got in line. The air of arrogance around him made people step away from him but at the same time be drawn to him. He always caught people staring at him, some with fear and some with lust, but usually with both. He drew the number eight first and headed there.
Sasuke recalled how gracefully his brother handled interaction and forced himself to channel the same professionalism and patience his brother had. Tsunade had stayed true to her word that they hadn't chosen too convolute conditions for them to guess today – so far, he had guessed pneumonia, hypothyroidism, pancreatitis, and several other common non-emergent internal medicine conditions. He was asked what labs he would order, what he finds significant in his examination, what a typical presentation is for the condition he suspects. Sometimes, when it was relevant to the scenario, the TAs had to play abnormal heart or lung sounds for him in order to pretend that the actor is actually sick and guide the medical student into correctly diagnosing. The scenarios really were simple for their first day – most of the actors were playing young people with always no preexisting conditions and other significant considerations which would usually make a case harder to manage.
Sasuke took several gulps of water from his water bottle. They were having a small break and he popped a mint in his mouth after eating a tomato as a snack. So far, it had been a breeze and he only had two scenarios left. Sasuke felt annoyed at how easy it seemed and became even more annoyed with the thought of potentially not being allowed to take two years into one.
He heard a burst of rasping laughter and followed the sound. He saw a man – one of the actors, Sasuke recognized him as the pneumonia guy – standing facing a woman who was leaning against the wall.
"Are you seriously eating ramen-flavored treats? They actually make this shit?!" The man's voice was harsh.
"Hidan, you're being loud. And yes, they do – I can't believe I didn't come up with them first, tebbayo! Coudf made a fowtun," the girl stuffed her mouth with the said treats. She had long blond hair and was very obviously in shape demonstrated by the black top with three buttons and the ripped jeans she was wearing. Sasuke's dark eyes lingered on the way the jeans hugged her thighs and how the cloth wrapped around her shin only to expose ankles with feet going into running shoes. She looked so casual and at the same time, she was the only thing in the room today that could pin Sasuke's attention.
"How about you hold off on eating these and we ditch the others after this and I take you to have some real ramen after we finish up here?" The man leaned in closer and his smile widened. Sasuke could recognize that the man was good-looking – with his casual clothes also showing his toned body and his hair slicked back. Sasuke told himself he was continuing to watch the exchange only to make sure that the girl was going to be fine and not because Sasuke now noticed the necklace which fell between her breasts-
"Hidan, we've been over this already. I'm flattered but when will you give up?"
"I won't. You're too hot for me to give up."
"The answer is still no. I'm not fucking your perverted ass," the girl popped another snack in her mouth and for some reason, Sasuke wanted to get closer.
"Aw, babe. Come on. How long have we known each other? You won't even consider a single date?"
"I'd consider eating ramen with you, but not what you would want after the ramen. Can we go back to being friends now? You're going to creep out the students. And you're almost creeping me out."
The guy smirked, "So you're with Gaara?"
"Excuse me?"
"There must be a reason why you'd say no to this," he leaned back slightly and dragged his hand down his torso. "Lots of people want a piece of this."
"Hidan, stop bothering our blondie here. It's time to go back. We're almost done here, there will be plenty of people for you to hit on at the bar."
Sasuke was expecting the man to protest but he just smirked and pushed himself off the wall. He then wrapped an arm around the other man's shoulders and leaned into him even closer.
"Aw, Dei. You know I just love my blonds. Do you want to go on a date after this?"
Sasuke briefly followed them with a raised eyebrow as they walked away. So that guy hit on everyone and they all seemed to be in the same friend circle. Just where did the school find those actors? In the back alley? He didn't think about it for too long because the blonde girl was now pushing herself off the wall and Sasuke was presented with a gorgeous view of her jeans hugging her ass when she walked back to her set. Scenario #7. Sasuke was now at number six. She was his last scenario.
Sasuke rushed through his second to last scenario finding himself anticipating his next actor encounter. He had correctly guessed that the condition is diabetes type 2 after he was presented with all the appropriate labs and information. He didn't even say his goodbyes appropriately before he took his leave and found himself standing in front of the curtain for scenario #7.
Sasuke actually stopped to steady himself for a moment. What the fuck was wrong with him? Uchihas were stoic and didn't get excited, especially not over things like this. Uchihas never lost focus. A few seconds later, Sasuke's face was perfectly impassive again, the appropriate amount of arrogance and superiority floating in the air around him. With his back straight, he opened the drape.
Reviews for me are like ramen to Naruto. :)
