It's been six weeks, six weeks have passed since Melissa walked into the school heavily pregnant on the last day of term. Everything came crashing down for Rachel, the school, her relationship and her trust in people.

It was a new day of term, a new deputy and new students with the merge of two schools coming together. Yes Waterloo Road and John Fosters merging together as one. A stressful day ahead for Rachel, with the lack of trust in people she could only see doing everything herself.

Since last term, Phillip took it upon himself to stay living with his aunt. After everything with his mum and the embarrassment she caused him, he was done, he enjoyed living with his aunt anyway and he already got used to the idea of living with her, she was happy enough to have Phil around as she enjoyed his company and even more so now Eddie was out of the picture.

With only around 3 months left of Melissa pregnancy, the police decided to only charge Melissa with a very large fine. Nothing more was mentioned after that and out of respect for Rachel, Phil doesn't even bring either of them up in conversation.

"Oh morning Phillip, you're up early?"

"Morning Rach. Yeah, nerves I think first day and all that"

"Nerves? What have you got to feel nervous about? If anything it should be me with a new deputy and this merge with John Fosters"

"Yeah, I just get anxious what people might be saying..thinking after...you know" his eyes darting everywhere other than his aunts.

Rachel stomach was doing flips just thinking about it and hating herself for still loving Eddie, she thought after everything those feelings would be long gone by now. "It's ok love. You can only tell them the truth, that's if they ask questions. I'm pretty sure with John Fosters joining us that Bolton and everyone else for that matter, will not even be thinking about what happened six weeks ago." She rubbed his shoulder and gave a gentle smile, then went over to make a cup of coffee.

He returned the smile and started thinking how hard this must be for his aunt, she hasn't just lost her love but her sister as well. "You're right Rach. You ready for the day ahead?"

"Am I ever ready?" Rolling her eyes thinking about it "I'm sure everything will be fine, I can't exactly say everything will go smoothly but let's pray and hope for the best. I want this to work Phil, but it's going to take a lot of work, determination and team effort from ALL staff."

Her phone alarm went off, taking her distraction away from the conversation "and on that note, it's time to get ready for school"

The time had passed rather quickly and soon it was 8 o'clock and they were up and out the door, into Rachel new Audi and making their way to Waterloo Road.

Parking up Rachel let out a heavy sigh. Philip could only guess what she was thinking. He took hold of her hand that was still resting on the gear stick "come on Rach, you've got this. Everything will be ok"

She turned and gave a reassuring smile "yeah, I'm fine. Sleepless night catching up with me, that's all. But enough worrying about me, you go on and head to the canteen. See what spread Rose has put on for breakfast." Tapping his hand, then stepping out the car into the cool fresh breeze air, today was going to be a beautiful day. Grabbing her bags, she then started walking towards the school. The yard was quiet, not a car in sight other than her own. A few children were running around, she appreciates Rose was willing to carry on with the Breakfast club for the children that liked to come to school early.

Reaching her office to find it was just how she left it on the last day of term, only as she stepped closer to her desk, it was there.

A handwritten letter, from no person other than him, himself. His handwriting, he must of wrote it on the last day of term after she practically got all her things and ran that day and never looked back. Water started to fill her eyes and everything went blurry, she couldn't stop the tears from falling. Today was already bad enough without him. She loved him so much and her world came crashing down. "No, no, NO I'm not doing this today!" She grabbed the letter not surprised he didn't even put it into an envelope folded it up multiple times and locked it away, safe for another day, when her heart could handle Eddie Lawson again...

Hello readers.

Apologies it's been a while and really sorry that I've unfortunately come to a bit of a mental block with my other fiction - I will be carrying on with that one but for now I decided to write a new one,

Now just a heads up for this fiction, it's my own carry on after series 4 - which you've already probably gathered. Now one thing to note - there's going to be no Max Tyler.

And maybe a few surprises along the way. Hope you enjoy! Have a good Easter weekend!
