Sarada opened her eyes and rubbed them to get rid of the dirt that had formed at the corners while she slept. Today was bound to be boring- She had no missions, Mitsuki was out of the village to meet up with someone and Boruto was out with Inojin and Shikadai, 'At least Papa's home maybe i can train with him' Sarada thought.
She went to the dining table and sat down,
"Morning Mama."
"Good Morning Sarada" Sakura chirped from the kitchen.
"where's papa?"
"Oh he went to get some groceries, i had to stay over at the hospital for a while and we were pretty understocked on just about everything."
Sakura came out of the kitchen and placed a steaming bowl of soup and some bread in front of Sarada and took some soup himself.
"Gosh, Mama I'm soooo bored."
"Yeah, i feel pretty bored too- Shizune basically dragged me out of the hospital and told me to take the day off."
"Well since we don't have anything to do why don't we talk about something- got any stories to tell?"
"Haha, a pretty funny one but before I tell you- You have to promise you'll never tell your Papa I told you this."
Sarada motioned zipping her mouth and Sakura continued.
*FLASHBACK*
Sasuke and Sakura had been together for a year now and were living together in Sasuke's old house. Sakura entered the house to see Sasuke on the couch cleaning his sword.
"Sasuke-kun , I am leaving for a medical mission with Shisou. I'll be back in a 2 week."
"Hn."
"I will leave tomorrow, can you please help me pack."
Sasuke grunted and they moved into their bedroom and started packing.
The next morning Sakura and Sasuke went to the village gates and saw Tsunade and Shizune waiting for them there.
Sakura tip toed and quickly pecked him on the lips.
"See ya in 2 weeks."
with that Sakura , Tsunade and shizune blurred away.
Sasuke's first day without sakura went uneventful, he met up with Naruto at Ichiraku after training with him, Naruto was being his usual chatty self but something he said spiked Sasuke's interest
"This is your first time since getting together that Sakura-chan is away isn't is teme?"
Now that Sasuke thought about it , Naruto was right he hadn't been away from Sakura since they got together.
"Hn."
"The perks of being on the same team as your girlfriend i guess. I remember i felt so lonely once Hinata went away on that mission of hers, felt like years passed before she came back."
"I don't get 'lonely'" Sasuke emphasised the last part, he wasn't some cliche lover about to go and wait for his significant other to return to his arms- he was Sasuke Uchiha, prideful and egotistical.
"Ha! with how close you and Sakura-chan are there is now way you wont get lonely."
Sasuke didn't feel like speaking about this topic any more so he just took another bite of ramen.
Sasuke got into bed and turned on his back and stared at the ceiling, he knew exactly why he was getting this foreign feeling. Sakura was a very cuddly person, she usually puts her arms around Sasuke and buries her face into his chest, Sasuke didn't particularly hate this cuddling, Okay maybe he even liked it a bit- but there was no way in hell he was admitting that to anyone.
He closed his eyes and willed them to sleep but it wasn't happening, had that annoying woman really got so close to him that he couldn't even sleep without her presence near him?
He finally forcefully kept his eyes closed and sleep finally overtook him. But then he felt his eyes open to a scene he had tried so hard to forget- his dead parents lying on his feet bloodied bodies mangled in an unimaginable way as Itachi's body lay in his arms.
He woke up covered in sweat at 3:47 in the morning. He was scared of even closing his eyes as the same picture came in front of him. This couldn't be happening to him, these nightmares had stopped a year ago as he remembered the nights he woke up Sakura lovingly cradling him reassuring him that she was there and there was no need to be scared.
Day 2 was a repeat of day 1 , as was day 3. By day 4 he was so tired he knew he had to sleep, but he was scared he would have the nightmare again that he decided he wasn't going to sleep at all. on Day 5 he looked like a skeleton and he was so tired that he could collapse right at any moment. Then Sasuke finally thought of a decision that he was utterly ashamed of, he would never let anyone know what transpired in the next few moments (or so he thought).
He created a shadow clone and then the shadow clone used the transformation jutsu and turned into Sakura, he laid in bed alongside with 'sakura' and let her hold him as he drifted off to sleep. He finally got up feeling well rested and with no nightmares and he knew his theory was right - Sakura's presence stopped the nightmares.
Sakura felt really proud, she had finished her mission of training new medics in the lightning villages 2 days ahead of time and headed home, she twisted the knob of the house that she and Sasuke called home, she blushed at the thought.
She was so tired the only thing she wanted to do was sleep in Sasuke's arms but as she got into the bedroom what she saw brought tears to her eyes. Sasuke was sound asleep and she could see the resemblance of a woman in his arms under the blankets. Who was she kidding, of course Sasuke wanted to be with some other woman than Sakura, she was a nobody and Sasuke was from one of the most prominent clans in the world, it was logical he would want to be with someone of a similar class. Sakura moved towards the bed tears falling down her cheeks, she really thought sasuke loved her but it looks like she was wrong and all she wanted to know was the identity of the woman under the sheets.
She was absolutely dumbfounded by what she saw. It was her- but how? Sasuke was awoken by the movement of the sheet and he jerked to consciousness and the clone poofed away, he knew he had some explaining to do.
"What...why...what?..." was all Sakura could muster in between snifles, she knew Sasuke hadn't cheated on her but what was the other Sakura doing in bed.
"Sakura...I...I can explan, it's not what it looks like."
After Sasuke finally told her the dilemma of the last few days the tears finally stopped and she held Sasuke and wiped her tears on his chest and let out a weird sort of chuckling sound.
"Thats the sweetest, weirdest, most cutest thing any one has ever done."
"Sakura, there is no one other than you in the entire world that i would have by my side- So don't worry about me and other women" Normally Sasuke would never say stupid cutesy stuff like this but being alone with Sakura brought out the stupid , cute side of him.
"And also- Promise me you'll NEVER tell anyone about this."
Sakura let out a suppressed chuckle
"Okay..."
"SARADA DON'T BELIEVE ONE WORD THAT LYING LIAR MOTHER OF YOURS SAYS"
Sarada was still reeling from laughter when Sasuke barged into the dining room and the fact that her father was so worked up meant every single word her mother said was right.
"YOU PROMISED NOT TO SAY ANYTHING"
"Sasuke-kun, it's Sarada - she doesn't count."
"YOU...you annoying annoying woman."
Sakura smiled at that.
"Alright , I'm gonna go meet with cho-cho see you guys" Sarada said and went out of the house.
"You broke the promise."
"Sorry, Sasuke-kun but the story was just too good not to tell our daughter."
"You need to be punished now." Sasuke simply stated while he threw his wife over his shoulder and took her to the bedroom.
Something told Sakura she was going to enjoy this punishment.
