He doesn't think Dean started the fire deliberately but sometimes the boy's too reckless for his own good. Salt and burn should really only affect the remains of the dead, not the whole damned property. As John props his son up against the wall to look for something to jam the door shut with he wonders where else Dean's education is lacking.
He watches the smoke curling under the door as he slams it shut and turns to where a slightly singed Dean has slid down to the floor.
The sound of sirens in the distance has never sounded sweeter.
