Welcome to an idea that wouldn't leave me alone. Explanation at the end.

Disclaimer: Much like everyone else writing on this site I don't own RWBY or the artwork for the cover but I guess I own my OCs. I highly doubt they're all that original though.

A worthless drunk.

A traitor.

A lone wanderer.

There were plenty of terms one could use to describe Qrown Branwen, most bearing some form of negative connotation. Naturally, the man didn't bother denying any of those accusations. As it turns out a youth full of regrets didn't just turn him into another self-loathing prick but rather a prick that was painfully self-aware of their own issues. It was all about those baby steps; after all, the first step to fixing any problem is recognizing said problem.

Either way it wasn't hard to see why caretaker wasn't exactly a title that fit him. He had to find a way to take care of himself before he even considered watching over a child of all things.

Delivering Azure to that orphanage had been the responsible thing to do.

Despite that Qrow couldn't help but think he had been buying into his whole bullshit now that the boy was standing before him.

Azure had grown, now just a few inches shy of reaching Qrow's shoulders. There was also early sighs of muscle development along his thin frame which wasn't surprising considering that he was enrolled at Signal Academy. A majority of his face was concealed by a metallic makeshift mask but there was no missing the severe burn marks marring the length of his neck, a stark contrast from his fair complexion.

"Anyone teach you to cut your hair kid?" Qrow questioned with a raised eyebrow. The boy shrugged, seemingly unperturbed by the messy black mane that was no doubt blocking some of his vision. "Still don't have a sense of style I see."

"You wear the same thing every time I see you." Azure retorted in a deadpan tone. At least for anyone else it would have been a deadpan tone. As far as Qrow knew this way just the kid's normal way of speaking.

"Touché." Qrow snorted while leaning back in their booth. After whisking Azure away from the orphanage he had gone straight to a café in Vale's commercial district. It wasn't really his scene but he could tell that the quiet atmosphere and decent food put Azure at ease, if only a little. "At least you picked up a sense of humor."

"I thought you were suppose to be out of town for the entire month. Why are you here?"

"Already tired of looking at this mug of mine?" Qrow questioned jokingly. "The Grimm extermination went well for once so I was able to get back a little earlier than expected. I even came back with a little something for you." Azure caught a thin card that had been slid across the table and picked it up.

"A debit card?" He muttered while running a hand over the series of numbers on the front. "Why-"

"Summers almost over kid and from what I heard you haven't even bothered applying to any of the big academies." Qrow explained with a shrug. "If money was holding you back, I put enough money on that card to pay off your tuition at Beacon for the next two years. That should be enough time for you to start taking on missions of your own to pay off the rest. Don't worry it being too late to send in an application either, I can handle that."

"Hmmm." Azure hummed, his plain expression finally shifting into a mix of emotions. "So all those missions you've been taking recently-"

"Don't overestimate yourself kid. It wasn't all for you; after all, I got what I was after with the money and it just so happened I had enough lien leftover for that." Qrow cracked open his signature flask and took a quick swig. "This is just a washed up huntsmen doing a good deed to feel a little better about himself."

"I fail to see how helping a child learn how to kill is a good deed." Azure pointed out. The two fell into silence for a few moments, neither sure where to go from here. Qrow didn't exactly spend much time around kids and Azure was Azure. "Thanks…a lot old man." The sincerity in his muffled voice brought the slightest of smiles to Qrow's face. It wasn't much but it was the least he could do for the kid so he was glad to see that Azure appreciated the effort.

"You remember our deal don't you?"

"I've made…a friend." Azure revealed, his tone returning back to it's usual emptiness. "Coal is his name."

Drop dead gorgeous. A natural born prodigy. A carefree teenager. These are just a few of the terms that some used to describe Yang Xiao Long. Unfortunately none of that really impressed my mother. As far as she was concerned Yang was nothing more than a bad influence me and considering my current situation…that conclusion certainly bared some measure of truth.

"A nightclub? I don't know Yang." Coal rubbed his left elbow nervously all while avoiding eye contact with the blonde standing before him. "You already know I'm not allowed to leave the house after nine. If Mom ever found out I went out to a place like that-"

"Come on dude, you never hang with the group when we go places." Yang placed her hands on her hips as she spoke. "Your mom is away for work and school won't start for an entire week. There won't be another chance like this."

"I see your point but what if my mom asks questions? You know I'm no good at lying plus-" The boy was cut off by Yang taking a step forward, forcing him to back up against the front door of his house.

"As long as we don't say anything she won't suspect a thing right? So no more buts, let's get going." She gave him a mock frown of anger and jabbed a thumb towards the yellow motorcycle she had reversed into the empty driveway. "Or are you saying I wasted my baby's precious dust driving here?"

"……" Coal's dark emerald like eyes darted around as if he would be able to find some escape from this situation. "I'm not really dressed for a club ya know…" He muttered after a few minutes.

It was a weak excuse; after all, he had long since changed into his casual clothing. Said clothing consisted of nothing more than a plain red shirt, black half-zipped hoodie, slim black jeans, and a pair of red sneakers. It certainly wasn't anything fancy but it just so happened to be the perfect type of outfit for the sort of place that Yang was suggesting they go.

"You look just fine to me. Although…" A playful grin made its way across Yang's face as she gave him a quick once over. "I say we get rid of the spectacles." Before the teen could react she snatched the black rectangular framed glasses off his face. "Without these you might actually be able to score with a girl or two."

"H-Hey!" Coal made a grab for his glasses only for Yang to jump back off the front porch and onto the driveway. "Give it back Yang."

"I don't really get why you wear these things but if you want them you know what you have to do." Yang slipped the glasses onto her own face as she strolled over to her bike to lean on. "Come on you big baby, I know you want to."

"…." Coal grimaced. After a few moments a sigh of defeat escaped him. This was hardly the first time that Yang had strong armed him into going somewhere and it certainly wouldn't be the last. Ever since they were kids she would force him out of his comfort zone; whether it be catching some movies or just hanging out with her group of friends, he had gotten use to it. The whole situation wasn't as bad as it sounded. The girl's persistence was one of the reasons he hadn't gone crazy studying inside all the time. Many of his more exciting memories could be attributed to her efforts. "Fine but once midnight hits I'm coming straight back home."

"Party pooper." Yang shook her head but her grin never faded. "That's fine. We'll just get some drinks, dance a little, and then I'll drop you off. A quick and enjoyable night on the town."

"Nonalcoholic right?" Coal questioned as he approached.

"Probably." The nonchalant way she waved away his concerns did very little to comfort the anxious boy. Yang tossed him his glasses, got onto her bike, and slipped on a pair of golden frame sunglasses of her own.

"What kinda person wears sunglasses at night?"

"Oh shut up and get on already. I don't need the momma's boy taking shots at my style." Coal didn't bother refuting her claim. He was more focused on getting a decent a hold on Yang's waist before she took off. Anyone who had ridden with this girl knew just how dangerously she loved to cut it on her precious bumblebee, the name she had given the motorcycle. Running red lights, driving well over the speed limit, and even dodging oncoming traffic; nothing was out of the question for her. "Hold on."

In the blink of an eye Yang sped out of the driveway and swerved down the darkened streets. The roar of her engine was no doubt the cause of the noise complaints that would be filed tonight.

I honestly don't know why I let Yang talk me into these situations. Mom's probably gonna figure out I left the house and it won't take her long to blame Yang. I guess I might as well enjoy tonight while I can.

Slowly, Coal loosened his grip around Yang's waist and pulled back to stare at the streets ahead. Somehow they had already made it onto one of the central highways running through all of Vale. Naturally it wasn't as busy as usual but there was still a fair bit of other drivers littering the road.

'I can see why Yang saved up all this time for Bumblebee.' Coal relaxed his eyes and basked in the feeling of the cool night air rushing through his dark brown hair. The bright lights, the adrenaline, the pure speed at which they moved; it was certainly a unique experience.

"See, I knew being cooped up in your room was driving you crazy!" Yang yelled over the rushing wind. "You usually crush my ribs the whole ride!"

"I was studying! You should try it some time!" He shouted back.

"As if! Cs and Bs are more than enough for this gal! With skills like mine you don't need straight As to get into any school!" There was a bit of excitement leaking into Yang's voice. "Its crazy to think we'll be attending Beacon in only a week! Soon you'll be looking at Yang Xiao Long, the hottest damn huntress to ever attend Beacon!"

"Very modest! Still your right!" Coal tensed up slightly as Yang passed between two cars. "Feels like we've been attending Signal forever! I'm actually gonna miss Azure and some of the others…" Despite being only a mutter his last statement wasn't lost on Yang.

"Its not like we won't ever see them again! I hear people can transfer between schools if they're grades are high enough!" Yang took the next exit and turned onto the streets of what Coal recognized as Vale's red-light district. He could count the number of times he had been here on one hand, each occasion having to do with Yang. There were shops the boy would never dare enter, less than respectable people roaming through the dimly lit streets, and all sorts of elicit stuff he opted to ignore. "Besides you'll have the Yangster with you the whole way! A win-win for everybody involved!"

"Rightttt cause my mom totally won't throw a fit if we end up having to share the same dorm room for the next four years." Ren chuckled as Yang began to slow down. He couldn't already see the lectures and daily check ups he'd have to deal with if they did in fact end up on the same team.

"Oh boohoo. We're almost adults, she's going to have to loosen up one of these days." Yang grinned slightly though the tinge of annoyance she regarded his mother with was crystal clear. "We've been hanging out all this time and you're still an innocent little virgin. Clearly I'm not that irresponsible."

"Yang!" Coal shouted in indignation, his tan cheeks taking on a slight red hue. Her bluntness really knew no bounds.

"What? It's true isn't it? If I was one of those loose girls after your v-card like she keeps insisting I would have already taken it." Yang shrugged slightly, not bothered by his embarrassment. "Not even you can resist these yangtastic charms."

"I really hope that isn't what you call your breasts." Coal muttered, resisting the urge to face palm. "Just give her some time, I'll sure she'll warm up to you now that we've made it into Beacon."

"Whatever you say dude." Yang skidded to an abrupt stop, nearly sending Coal flying off the bike. It was only thanks to his quick reflexes that he managed to tighten his grip on her waist and avoid a face full of cement. "Well this is our stop."

The two teens stood just outside the nightclub that Yang had been talking about. Loud music along with cheers could be heard coming out of the brightly lit building. It's parking lot was filled to the brim and a number of people were in the alleyway beside it. The combined noise was almost enough to overwhelm Coal but he powered through; he had grown use to situations like this. Sometimes his enhanced hearing was more of a pain than a boon.

"You sure we can just park right here? Won't your motorcycle be towed?" Coal questioned as he followed Yang's lead towards the club doors.

"Eh, don't worry about it. Like I said we'll be quick. Just a drink or two, a quick dance and we can kiss this neighborhood goodbye." Yang gave him a pat on the back and her signature grin. For now he would just have to trust her judgement.

'Worse comes to worse I guess we can catch a taxi.' Coal decided as they pushed through the double doors of the club.

Instantly the duo was greeted by flashing lights, a full dance floor, and familiar sound track that Coal couldn't quite place. He would have ended up staring ahead in muted amazement had it not been for Yang looping her arm around his and leading him down the stairway through the crowd. With practiced ease the lilac eyed girl found a path that led directly to the rather spacious bar. It was rather impressive how quickly it happened then again Coal really shouldn't have been surprised, this whole place was Yang's sort of thing.

"Two strawberry Sunrises, no ice. Oh and those little umbrellas." Yang ordered once they were earshot of the bartender.

"Strawberry Sunrise?"

"Don't worry." Yang said with a roll of her eyes as she turned around, pressing her back against the bar. She already feel the concern in her companion. "They're one of the least alcoholic drinks in here. One glass won't be enough to really mess with you let alone an experience connoisseur such as myself."

"I don't know…. Isn't there a difference in the tolerance between a human and faunus?" Coal questioned lowly, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose. Contrary to what a first glance would tell you, this teenager was in fact a member of the faunus race, a snake type more specifically. He had been fortunate enough to only inherit slightly slit pupils and extremely sharp canine teeth. So as long as he kept his mouth shut and laid low most people just marked him off as a human which was always convenient. Though some of his internal characteristics had made for an interesting childhood. He could still remember the days where his mom constantly rushed him to the hospital for no other reason than is temperature being absurdly low at times.

"Hell if I know." Yang gave a shrug as their drinks were placed before them. She grabbed ahold of her own glass and held it up towards the hooded boy expectantly. Coal gave it a few experimental sniffs and a skeptical look before finally doing the same.

"Bottoms up." Yang clicked their glasses together and downed it's contents in one go. Coal did the opposite, cautiously taking a sip. Surprisingly enough it was far more tolerable than he had expected. It had a fruity and sweet test reminiscent of sweets while maintaining this edge that he couldn't quite explain.

"Good right?" Yang said proudly. "We'll have to mark this as the day we officially popped your alcohol cherry."

"Its…not bad." Coal admittedly while placing the still filled glass back down on the bar. He was so wrapped up in savoring the unique taste that he hadn't noticed the fact that Yang was more focused on scanning than entire club rather than their conversation. "I don't really get all the hype behind alcohol though."

"Actually down a few and you'll do more than understand the hype. You'll be living it." Yang grin disappeared as her gaze seemed to fix on something on the other end of the bar. "Enjoy yourself for a bit and loosen up before our dance. I'll be back, I promise."

"huh? W-wait, Yang?!" Before Coal could even think about reaching out to stop the blonde she slip back into the crowd and out of view. With a slump of his shoulders the green eyed teen refocused on his drink, more than a little anxious about being left in a place like this. "I can't believe she really left me…"

"Happens kid." The nondescript bartender piped in sympathetically. "You are paying for her drink right?"

Note to self. Never go to any clubs with Yang.

"Lay off him V." A voice broke through the music, cutting off whatever response Coal had in mind. The boy nearly jumped back when a person took up Yang's former position, sliding just a smidge too close for comfort. "What reason could someone like you possibly have for hanging around in a shithole like this?"

"Oh, I, ummm…" Coal found himself stumbling over his words as he examined the girl before him.

She seemed to be around his age, standing almost a head shorter than him but not too much shorter than Yang. Her jet black hair just past her back and had bangs nearly long enough to hide her eyes from sight. Coincidentally enough her eyes were green though was of a much more paler tint than his own. Her somewhat pale skin was complimented by a slight covering of make-up with tealish highlights around her eyelids. Her choice of clothing was a rather fancy strapless white dressed that ended with teal tips as well as pure white thigh high boots.

"No need to panic." The girl smiled at him, a spark of amusement present with her eyes. "My sister and I don't bite."

"Your sis-" Coal nearly found himself jumping once again as another person made themselves comfortable beside.

It was another girl nearly identical to the first excluding a few key details. Her hair was cut much shorter, just barely reaching past her neck, with bangs framing the sides of her. This one also seemed to favor the color red with her dress, boots, make-up consisting of that color with black outlines.

"…" This girl remained quiet but offered him a smile that caused his face to heat up slightly.

"I-I came here with a friend." Coal muttered. Sandwiched between two alluring females in an unfamiliar environment was more than enough to throw any male off their game, especially one as innocent as himself.

"And they ditched you? Not much of a friend huh." The more outspoken sister motion towards the bartender who nodded and got to work. "You barely touched your drink? Don't tell me you're a lightweight or something."

"This is actually my first time in a place like this." Coal admitted a bit nervously. He may not have completely regained his composure but at least he managed to squash his stutter. Baby steps. "I'm just taking it easy until I find my limit."

"Smart, the sunrise is definitely a good choice for that. I wish I had done the same my first time around." The long haired girl smirked slightly. "Our first taste of alcohol ended with my sister-"

"Melanie…" The other girl muttered, a sharp glare fixed in her sister's direction. There was a annoyed edge to her tone that promised pain if she came any closer to finishing that sentence.

"Right, Right. I don't get why you're so uptight about that story. It'd be the perfect icebreaker. Anyways-" The now named girl leaned a little closer, giving Coal a clear view of the top of her cleavage. He of course looked away but didn't really move considering that the short haired one was blocking off an escape. "-my name is Melanie and the quiet edge lord here is my sister Miltia. What's your name handsome?"

"Coal." The teen revealed while messaging his left elbow.

"Coal huh. I'll make sure to remember that." Melanie shot him a smile not dissimilar to her sister's though there was something about it that made Coal fear for his chasity. "So why the hood? You wouldn't happen to be hiding a pair of fluffy ears up there would you."

"Nothing like. It just makes me feel more comfortable ya know?"

"How about you finish your drink and we hit the dance floor?" The green eyed girl leaned in closer, her face getting dangerously close to his own. "Afterwards I'll show you a little something back at my place that'll have you feeling comfortable the rest of the n-"

"Stop being a slut Meme." Coal's savior from the quickly escalating proposition came in the form of the other sister surprisingly enough. Though the word savior was a bit subjective considering the circumstances. She had pulled him a bit towards, freeing him from Melanie's advances but pressing her own breasts into his arm. "You're going to end up scaring him off acting like that. He clearly isn't into girls like you."

"Oh don't act like you're any different than me closet freak. You're just saying that because you think he'll be more into your nice girl act." Melanie snorted as she leaned back. "So tell us Coal? What kind of girl is your type?"

"My type? I've never really given it much thought but I guess…" Coal shifted around as a contemplative look took over his expression. "…they'd definitely have to be smart."

"Pfft, you best get going now Melanie." Miltia snorted quietly. "Ain't nothing in that mushy organ but sex."

"Whatever, you'd still give me a chance won't you darling?"

"I-" Coal was spared from answering the question by the sound of glass shattering echoing throughout the club. The three teens turned to see everyone screaming and doing their best to scramble for the exit. A group of men in identical suits and red tinted glasses were surrounding a blonde female.

'Is that…what is she doing?' Coal felt himself pale slightly once he recognized the blonde beating on the group of men. 'Of course this wasn't going to be a simple club visit. Why did I expect anything else?'

"Fucking shit, looks like we'll be cutting this meeting short darling." Melanie pushed herself off the bar with an annoyed huffed. "Of course bitches just had to act up when I finally find someone worth my time in this dump."

"Oh stop complaining." Miltia chided. Coal's eyes nearly widened when she flicked the gauntlet like wraps around her arms causing them to turn into a pair of crimson dual bladed claws "This is what we get paid for."

It only took Coal less than a second to put together what they were talking about. He had no idea what trouble Yang was dragging him into but he wasn't about to let some people join in on that fight.

"Sorry." Coal whipped out a plain black pistol from his jacket and fired a single shot at their feet, getting the siblings' attention. "It'd be best if the two of you didn't interfere."

"Ohhhh, well this is a surprise. I didn't expect you to have a pair of balls under all that awkwardness." Melanie gave him a smirk. "Just go back to your drink like a good boy and we'll pretend you didn't just threaten us."

"I'm really sorry." Coal apologized once again before pulling the trigger. Melanie had already been on the move, side-flipping out of the way while her sister rushed him.

Coal ducked beneath the initial lunge and began to weave through the series of slashes aimed towards him. It was relatively easy at first; his superior reaction time and almost unnatural flexibility kept him a step ahead of all of the girl's attacks. Things began to go south as soon as Melanie joined in on her sister's assault. He hadn't noticed it before but the back of her white heels were adorned with some sort of sharp blade that could easily cut through anything unfortunate enough to be in it's path. Between Melanie's quick and precise kicks, Miltia's vicious claws, and his distinct lack of a close range weapon; the teen found himself on the defensive fairly quickly.

'Crap, if only I had my knives.' Coal thought as he leap over Melanie's sweep kick only to narrowly lean out of the path of a pair of claws. He fired off several bullets at the sister dressed in white before rushing Miltia. She managed to block all of his open palm strikes and chops only to get caught by the end of a quick kick to the stomach packed with enough force to send her skidding back. The boy couldn't even press his advantage before Melanie was already upon him; delivering a sharp kick to his ribs then head. He managed to block the second blow and fire off another barrage of shots to create some distance but that wouldn't last long. 'The best I can do is stall for time. As long as these two don't have any fancy semblances I should be able to manage that much.'

"Not bad, we don't usually deal with people that can actually fight back." Melanie complimented him as she linked up with her sister. "How about we exchange numbers after this? It'd be a waste to pass up someone like you. Hardly anyone that comes through here actually meets my standards." Coal opted to remain silent and use this chance to regain his breath. He had to be prepared for the next onslaught. These jeans were already restricting his movement, he couldn't afford to make any mistakes.

Melanie frowned at his apparent unwillingness to entertain her banter and exchange a quick nod with her sister.

The two split off and rushed him from different sides. He fired a few rounds between the two before leaning backwards just in time to avoid Melanie's bladed boot. Miltia was quick to leap over her sister and slice at his face with both of her claws. He blocked with his elbows, his aura blocking all but the impact of the blades. He pushed back and sent her flipping through the air. Naturally, Melanie was already upon him again with a series of kicks all aimed at either his mid section or head.

Coal deflected most of them with quick taps while the rest were dodged. She grew more than a little frustrated at seeing all of her best combinations of feints avoided. With a growl she went for a heavy axe kick that would leave him open for the quickly approaching Miltia. Unfortunately for her Coal seemed to be waiting for that very attack. Instead of deflecting this strike or simply dodging he moved forward past both her guard and the attack. In the blink of an eye the teen had wrapped his forearm around her neck while aiming his gun at her sister.

Miltia froze up from the unexpected turn of events, unsure of what to do.

"I'm n-not really into the whole choking kink." Melanie struggled out. Her attempts to break free of his hold proved to futile as the pressure against her neck only seem to grow with each squirm.

"P-Please don't make jokes like that." Coal muttered. He spared a single glance towards Yang who seemed to be finishing up the rest of the goons. "I really am sorry."

"Is that right…" Melanie whispered, getting an idea. She gave a quick wink to her sister before suddenly grinding against him. As predicted he was caught off guard from the sudden act and his grip loosened. That instant was all Melanie needed to lean forward before rocketing her head right back into his face, the impact actually drawing blood from his nose.

Coal stumbled backwards and attempted to aim his gun at the twins rushing his but his blurred vision made it damn near impossible. Within moments he found himself being pelted by blows. Melanie's kicks would hit the weakest part of his hastily thrown up guards leaving him open to the harsh slashes of Miltia.

'Crap, crap, crap.' Coal lashed out with a punch that was blocked by the girl's claws and countered with a kick to his ribs. At some point his gun had been kicked out of his hands leaving him to simply guard with both hands. 'Here goes nothing.' As the two continued their combined assault Coal wrapped his fists in a bit of aura, a dark red glow encompassing them. He forced himself to backpedal just out of range of the both the claws and kicks before slamming his fists together as they moved to re-engage him. The collision produced a shockwave that not only sent them flying backwards but also ended up with him sailing through the air and right into the bar.

'!' Coal resisted the urge to scream as pain shot through his back. He was definitely going to feel that in the morning. 'That wasn't suppose to happen, I gotta work on that execution.'

"Not bad darling." A clap from ahead pulled Coal out of his thoughts. Both Melanie and Miltia had recovered from being launched and we're already approaching. "Any other last ditch efforts?"

"J-Just one." Coal pushed himself up via the bar and used it to keep steady. "Do it now, Yang!"

Neither sister were prepared for a barrage of explosive shells to explode on the ground around them. One made a direct hit to Miltia's stomach and sent her flying once again.

Yang was quick to take advantage of the duo's separation, lunging for Melanie and delivering a series of punches to the girl's form, each one packed with enough force to crush an ordinary person's bones. The black haired girl was caught so off guard that she could hardly put up a fight and ended up being knocked out with a powerful right hooked, it's impact enhanced by an explosive round from the blonde's gauntlets.

"You called?" Yang said with a wide grin as she approached Coal.

"Thanks for the save. A head's up would have been nice though." The teen shook his head. He blinked when he caught sight of a strand of his hair. Apparently at some point his hood had been completely knocked revealing the messy ponytail he had pulled his dark brown hair into. He quickly pulled his hood back up as he spoke. "I would have brought my weapons and changed if I knew we were getting into a fight."

"Everything worked out didn't it? You got your first taste of alcohol and hit up a club. I had some fun bashing heads and taking names. Although-" Yang glanced around at the damaged building. "-we should probably yang out before they bill us for this."

"Right." Coal grunted as he pressed a fist into his lower back to help him straighten out. "That's enough clubbing for me."

"One can never do enough clubbing, take that from the Yang master herself.

"Just…be quiet."

Surprisingly enough the ride home had been pretty quiet. So much so that Coal actually wondered if something had happened back in the club. Why had Yang even ended up in a fight? She didn't go to clubs to just beat people for no reason, that much he was certain about.

"You going to be okay?" Yang questioned as he got off her bike.

"After a good night of sleep and some stretching I'll probably be fine." Coal assured his friend. His expression became a bit more serious a moment later. "You want to tell what all that was about?"

"Just your typical bar fight you know." Yang gave him an all around unconvincing laugh. "These sorts of things happen in places like that." The deadpan stare Coal was sending her way made her a bit uncomfortable but the thrill seeker just continued waving off the more serious question.

"Whatever you say Yang. Just give me a heads-up next time." Coal said with a shake of his head. He waved his hands as he retreated towards the familiar safety of his home. "Goodnight. Shoot me a text to let me know you made it home safe."

"Will do Mom." Yang joked as she prepared to take zoom off into the night once again. "Oh and Coal?" The hooded teen spared a glance back towards her. Oddly enough she was giving a true and genuine smile, one she he had only seen every once in awhile. "Thanks for coming with me tonight. I know places like that aren't really your scene."

"No problem, it's not like I didn't enjoy it at all." Coal cracked half smiled, recalling the attractive duo they had ended up clashing with. "I doubt I'll ever be hit on by twins again. Let alone ones that good looking."

"That's go-wait a minute! You were flirting with people!? Twins?!"

"Yeah, it was definitely…strange." Coal adjusted his glasses to hide the blush on his face. "They were very forward.

"And you didn't go all in? I don't know if I should be proud of you or call you a complete idiot." Yang couldn't help the look of disbelief on her face. Who would have thought that her disappearing for only a few moments could result in something like that? "A lot of dudes would die to have their first time be a threesome, with twins no less."

"Yeah, Yeah. That option kinda went out the window after you started fighting. They nearly beat me up." Coal couldn't help but frown. "I really need to practice hand to hand combat more. Getting caught without my weapons is the worst."

"That's what happens when you spend more time studying than doing." Yang revved up her bike, preparing to take off. "Tell ya what, if we ever hit up the club again I won't interrupt you. They might still be thinking about you."

"Doubtful. You kinda knocked them into next week." Coal rolled his eyes but smiled none the less.

"Fighting builds character. If anything they'll be more into you now that they know you aren't a pushover." Yang gave a two finger salute as she back out of the driveway. "Later nerd!"

Just like that Yang disappeared into the night leaving Coal in the empty drive.

"Man…I'm taking a bubble bath tonight and the morning after." The teen decided. "I need the realization."

To anyone who might be from my Code Vein story. I regret to inform you that I ended up losing about two chapters worth of content because I made the reckless decision of neither saving it to fanfiction or my OneDrive. I'm attempting to rewrite it now(about only a thousand words deep in what was just under 20k words) but it's gonna be a long while before that ever gets updated. You know that feeling after having your game crash at the end of a boss fight with no checkpoints leading up to it. I know I can do it but I just ain't got the time or motivation to do it. Plus everything I write just feels like a cheap imitation of the original.

Anyways to the RWBY fan base that read this for some reason. I posted a different version(Male reader) on wattpad but I'm not sure if I'll bother updating that version either. It uses the same base but things will be vastly different on that one. Wattpad account name is the same as this one if you're interested.

Will I update this? Who knows.

Why did I post this? Was gonna be an april fools joke a year back but it actually spiraled into a feasible story overtime once I took out some of the overly comical bits. Just satisfying my desire to write until I'm finally done rewriting everything for my code vein story.

What are my plans? This will probably be a pretty big AU(the first time I've ever tried this sort of thing) as my interest in RWBY's story has dimmed with each volume. I still watch it because of the fighting and investment but I've become pretty neutral towards the story overall. I haven't even finished the newest volume and can honestly say I don't really care much where the story goes. I'm not saying it's bad; after all, I'm just some dude posting a fanfiction so what do I know about good or bad. It's just not to my taste. Will it be a good AU? Honestly, probably not. I tend not to plan things out too much which is a pit fall for writer's block, plot holes, deus ex machina, and plenty of other troupes. Don't get too invested in the plot my friends.

What are my specific plans? At first I was just gonna cut out Jaune so I didn't have to make an entire OC team but then I was like you know what. This story is already an AU, might as well go all in and create my own original characters. Can't promise they'll be any good but I can say I'll have a good time with them if I ever actually update this story. I've also heard legends of the Jaune brigand on this site and to those people I have one thing to say. Fuck Jaune bro. Jk but seriously he probably won't get that much attention in this story. Same pretty much goes for all of team JNPR. It's already gonna be hard enough to balance out and flesh out all the OCs then team RWBY and the villains I've planned for the story. Also Neo. She's definitely a villain when you see her but there's a reasoning for her being where she is.

Can anyone adopt this if I don't follow up with it? Hell no but who's that gonna stop. This is a site where you can pretty much post whatever you want and if there's enough changes no one's really gonna care enough to do anything about it, least of all someone like me. So do what you will. Just know that no one has my seal of approval to take this chapter or any future chapters word for word unless expressly stated otherwise.

By the by if anyone has some cool OCs and don't mind me using them, link em so I can check them out. or send it through pm I guess? Whatever floats your boat.

Also, please don't correct me about faunus traits. I'm already adhering to the color naming rule, I'm not about to pay attention to the obscure rules involving faunus and how many traits they can have when we don't even have a proper explanation on their background. Plus this is an AU, I'll explain those changes fully when it becomes relevant. Will said explanation be any better than what they official give us? Probably not. Besides the way people like to sometimes obsess over these rules really takes some of the fun away. Like chill, it's just a story my friend.

TLDR: This story is gonna be an AU, JNPR won't be getting that much attention, not sure if I'm update this since Code Vein is still my main focus, send me your ocs if you want, no one can adopt this story if I never update.

Anyways peace out and live happily people.
