Chapter 1
"GUESS WHAT?!"
A shrill voice rang through the dorm room of Team RWBY as the leader, Ruby Rose, came barreling in with excitement. Her older sister, Yang Xiao Long, followed behind, excited as well.
"What is it?" their teammate, Blake Belladonna, asked with a giggle.
Their other teammate, Weiss Schnee, stood up. "I am almost worried with how excited Ruby sounds."
"We're going camping!" Yang exclaimed.
Weiss and Blake had differing reactions to this. Blake, being used to survival, was ready to try camping with her new friends.
Weiss, on the other hand...
"Excuse me?"
"Camping, Weiss!" Ruby responded.
"You mean spending your life in a tent in the dirty woods with no contact with society?"
"Yes!"
Weiss pouted. "Nope, count me out!"
"Oh come on, Weiss," Yang said, "it's not like we'll be in the middle of nowhere. We'll be on Patch."
"The island you and Ruby grew up on?" Blake asked.
"Yup!" Ruby said, "There's a nice spot in the woods that dad, Yang and I go camping in."
"And since we're on an island," Yang brought up, "we can go swimming at a nearby beach!"
"Fine," Weiss said, flipping her hair, "I'll give it a shot."
Blake sat up from her bed and asked, "what would you like us to pack?"
"Snacks," Ruby said, "we can buy camping snacks when we go into town!"
"And sleeping bags," Yang said, "we can use the ones we brought for missions."
"And clothes. Comfy clothes!"
"And swimsuits!"
"And bug spray. Mosquitoes are no joke!"
"Oh, and our weapons. There might be Grimm."
"And books! We can read to each other by the campfire!"
Weiss and Blake gave their teammates a surprised look as they took turns listing camping supplies.
As soon as the sisters finished listing things off, Blake asked, "so when are we going?"
"During break!" Ruby declared.
"Great. A whole week of camping in the woods," Weiss said sarcastically.
Ruby wrapped an arm around her partner. "Don't worry, Weiss! Yang and I can show you the ways of camping!"
"Me too," Blake said as she raised her hand, "I've had plenty of experience in a tent."
"Then let's get our adventure ready!" Ruby exclaimed.
