Life on the Ghost was new to say the least. When Ezra was living in his communications tower, there were no rules or other people really. He really did not give out many invites to his safe haven from the empire. For some reason, they never saw a reason to dismantle to old towers. But I digress, being around people again was an odd feeling. Doing odd jobs to earn a meal was nothing new to Ezra but having to schedule himself to do the same jobs every week was a good kind of strange. Kanan was arkward at the best of times and at the worst, would not speak to Ezra at all.

When Ezra was very small, still living with his parents, he could recall several rules that no one else he knew had to follow. All of his toys and books had to be stored in draws or in the closet before he could go to bed. He also had to keep track of a dream journal. He was not a strong reader because he was so young, but he would feel pages and pages of pictures in his book. Some were normal dreams from a youngling, pictures of his family and a few of friends in the neighborhood. Some of the pictures he drew had dark auras, such as a man in a respirator suit. The dreams would fade in time and his parents would keep tract of his journal for him during the day. His parents said it was for the best and would come in handy in the future. Lastly he was not allowed to go to the park and play on the jungle gym with the other children. His parents would take him to places out of town and allow him to play there. Jumping and whooping when it was just the three of them was always a blast in young Ezra's mind. Like most children he did not pay much attention to the rules set by his parents. He never saw fit to question the odd rules until he was living on the streets with no rules at all.

Most of the rules his family set up in his youth Ezra still followed as he was living in the tower. The Loth rats or other animals must have found there way in the tower. Extra sneaky ones too. No matter how many times Ezra set traps he could not catch them but anything he left out was fair game. The critters would drag in belongings in the floor or push them off the shelves.

He stopped keeping track of his dreams when his parents were taken after a while. He only new basic words anyway and sometimes if he felt like it, he would look at the pictures he drew. Again most of them were silly little things that reminded him of the good times with his parents but others scared him and he did not know why. Instead of questioning why he was afraid of certain drawings, he just locked up the journal. When he left the communications tower and went to live on the ghost with his new crew, he couldn't tell them why beyond a simple feeling but he continued the picture book.

Lothal had become a dangerous place to be after the empire took over, so Ezra never questioned why his parents never took him to public parks or school. The places they would take him in his youth became safe spots of sorts. Don't know how safe cliffsides and rock beds were but they felt good. Being there felt so quiet and peaceful compared to home. Many times before and after his parents were taken, he would fall asleep in his old playgrounds or just sit and breath. He did not know why he felt so peaceful there, only that it was.

Now these rules came in handy at home and on the street but Ezra did not completely trust the crew. Sure they had a Jedi on the crew but the Jedi had been gone for ages. The big guy he shared a room with was particularly loud. Even when he was quiet and doing nothing Ezra got the feeling Zeb was being too loud, to obtrusive. He did not spend a lot of time with others so he just assumed it was because he was sharing a room with him. Sometimes he got a feeling close to what he felt around his mother with Hera so he would sit in the co pilots seat on occasion and just let it flow over him.

Again he never thought it was odd or strange because he was always like that.

One day he woke up with a massive headache. It was a horridous mixture of sharp pain and pressure behind his eyes and temples. For a while he just lay curled under his blanket provided by the crew and breathed the way his parents taught him. After a while, sounds filtered back into his mind. He could here Zeb on the bottom bunk tossing and turning, mumbling words under his breath. The more he mumbled the worse the headache became until Ezra connected some dots. The noise and movement from the bottom bunk must be causing his headache. So he did what any teenager would do in that situation.

When he caught his bearings, he put both hands on the side of the bed and heaved himself over the side and straight on top of large man. When a startled yell and grab a the boy, Zeb woke up swinging. Ezra was too quick to get hit but not quick enough to avoid capture. That led to the current situation he found himself in now. Dangling with on arm in the lasat's grip and feet not touching the floor. "Good morning, sleep well" he asked. A michivous smile sneaking across his lips. All he got in response was a growl and Zeb released him. He fell on his butt on the floor but at least his headache was gone. "Let's go and get some breakfast, the others should be up by now as well" he continued the one sided conversation as he pulled Zeb's arm to the kitchen. He was right but Zeb did not know how. The entire ghost crew hardly ever ate together on account of everyone having different schedules but there they all sat in the common area. Kanan and Chopper playing some game on a holloboard while Kanan was eating his breakfast. Hera had her morning Caff and was sipping it while looking at her own hollopad. Sabine was sitting across the chairs sketching her next new design. Overall it was a very peaceful morning.

Zeb was not sure why but when Ezra entered the room, still with his arm captured. He stopped in the doorway and just stood. All eyes went to the pair when they entered but Ezra did not seem to notice. He tilted his head up and closed his eyes, letting out a long breath. Zeb of course broke the silence "kid why did you have to go waking me up so early this morning." he complained. "Don't know" Ezra answered truthfully "you were just giving me a headache with all the noise this morning." That got Kanan's attention. He began listening in Zeb's and Ezra's conversation while he continued to play with the droid. "How could anyone sleep with all that moving, I bet you woke everyone in the room up too". Ezra continued. "Aw did you not get your beauty rest, how bout I punch your lights out" Zeb stated. "Only if you could catch me first. All your snoring gave me a headache this morning" Ezra smirked.

This sentence is the one that Kanan responded too "what kind of headache" he questioned looking directly at Ezra. Startled Ezra answered honestly while pointing "Right here" pointing to his head "the pressure build like something getting stuffed inside my brain" he huffed. "Not that it matters since it's gone now". With that Kanan got a thoughtful look on his face. "Do you get these headaches often, How long have you had them? Does anything make them better?" Kanan asked quickly.

Confused by the questioning but seeing no reason not to answer, Ezra answered "I've always had my headaches, even since I was small. There were some places my pare..." Ezra looked at the floor and continued " there were places I would go when I was small that would help but they always come back" he finished, looking back up at the crew as if nothing happened. Zeb added as an afterthought "I was having a pretty bad dream this morning. he also seemed to know everyone was in here when he woke me""Alright Ezra, I think I know what our first lesson is going to be" Kanan stated with a half smile. "What's that" Ezra replied with a grin. Finally he would start his training. "We'll start training your sense in the force after we eat. Obviously it's quit strong if you can already sense us".

Ezra could not hide his excitement as he answered a quick "yes master" and ran to get ready for his lesson. "Wait Ezra, you breakfast" Hera called out but it was too late. All she saw was the trail from him moving so fast. "Aw well, he can eat after".
