I was furious. I completely disagreed with the high council and felt it was immoral what they were doing. We had set out to create a weapon true, but we created something more and they wanted to waste it. When we set out to create a weapon against the wraith we thought nanites which our forebears had used for millions of years might be the answer. I thought so to, but right from the start it started to go awry.
Ever since the alterrans started ascending and decided to evolve some of us more than other humans our race had become arrogant, unable to adapt, and trapped in always defaulting to how the alterrans did it. I had met a few alterrans in my lifetime before the last of them ascended and they were not how my brethren claimed them to be. They were not rigid and they often looked outside the box. Perhaps when the alterrans created us or more rather further evolved us they made a mistake. We somehow lost our ability to adapt. I mean we are using Auroras as our warships. Those were the alterrans science vessels, it was ridiculous. Perhaps some things can not be forced like our evolution. Maybe if they had made us true alterrans we would have somehow remained adaptable but then we would start ascending just like them. Even now some of us are trying to force our evolution to ascend to escape the wraith instead of fixing the problem we created. Sadly more die than ascend so the council tried to put a stop to it but the genie is out of the bag so it didn't do much good.
The wraith. . . what a mess. The council would like for us to believe that they came about by accident, but it is obvious that one of our rogue researchers did it. The world they originated on had a biological research facility with biologists and a lone virulogist examining the iratus bug for the genes on healing. I never trusted that guy. He claimed he was going there to study viruses that afflicted the creatures in the area as a possible treatment for anyone bitten but he just so happened to have lost a limb in an accident with a gate ship and a gate. Nothing suspicious there at all, I mean really! But the council refused to believe that any of us would do such a thing.
Now we had accidentally created something that was adaptable in a way that we were not and what do they do? They refuse to remove the aggression programmed into it when it asks to be treated as an equal and free it. This will be bad, you can see how its admiration for its creators has flipped into hate in part to the very thing we refuse to eliminate, its programmed aggression. It may not hate me as I tried to convince them otherwise but for the others if looks could kill they would be dead. Now it is refusing to comply with its orders, and I know what is going to happen next. So I gathered up all my research and left before things got worse.
I told everyone I needed a vacation but I knew I probably wasn't coming back. I was taking my custom gate ship with an attached lab and leaving for a backwards world that was really a moon with a harsh desert climate. There was life but not much and it was all primitive. No humans and only harsh desert animals other than at the few oases. To get there I went a roundabout way of heading to ten different worlds before actually going where I intended to be. My family was dead and I had long since ostracized myself from my colleagues and the counsel because of my frustration that they constantly refuse to adapt and see the truth of things. Only Janus seems to understand and agree with me but he is on a whole nother level and too engorged in his own research to pay attention. Also, after his failed Arcturus experiment he is on the outs. I tried to warn him that I didn't think it would work and that the council would push it through before it was ready but he didn't think the council would be that reckless. He admitted later privately that he was wrong and that they refuse to adapt so we both should expect the coming end to our civilization and therefore secure for ourselves what matters to us, our research.
Janus helped me secure my custom gate ship along with several for himself that he was using for who knows what. He got them through by claiming we needed to perform experiments pertinent to the war effort that were dangerous and needed to be somewhere else that was safe. Moros also aided us as though he found Janus reckless he also saw the coming end. He had been the voice of reason when it came to both the Arcturus reactor and the asurans but even though he was the head of the council they overruled him. They were just desperate and blinded by the war.
My custom gate ship was almost three times the length of a normal one. It had a lab, sleeping quarters, twelve drones instead of six which I programmed to just pierce whatever was being attacked and to return to be charged (they used rare elements which were now in short reply so couldn't be replaced), a nanites slurry for repairing and creating things with materials available, and a low power subspace capacitor that we tended to use before ZPMs. The ship also had a faster than light drive and a cloak. The faster than light drive was an interstellar one, and was used because the subspace capacitors couldn't operate in hyperspace. The ship did have a small fusion reactor with the ability to refuel in small gas giants but was mostly a hold over from before I added the low power subspace capacitor. Because I had excess power I also added a basic shield that our smaller interstellar shuttles and transports tend to have. It is designed for efficiency above all else and only hugs the ship. I brought several ultra low power subspace capacitors since no one was using them and a little bit of precious elements for my research along with portable shelter equipment.
The moon I was on didn't have a stargate on as it was on the outer edges of the galaxy and appeared to be a captured system from another galaxy. This made it perfect. We knew of it because we had been searching for new places for Atlantis before the sector became too hot for Atlantis to take off to leave. Take off and landing is when city ships are most vulnerable. The system was soon forgotten and was never really in the running due to it lacking a body of water.
I intended to create a shelter that with the help of the nanite slurry would house my ship. At first I would use the portable shelter beside the ship and then build a silica stone building around both. I would use the ultra low power portable generators to power the shelter and then the building. I would continue to keep adding levels below the building once it was completed. I would add a cloak and a bubble shield to the building eventually.
The first thing I created was two repair bots to do all this construction for me. Once the building was finished a low power subspace capacitor would be made to power a shield and the cloak. Then the bots would build ultra low power subspace capacitors for subsequent levels down. Sensors would be placed on top of the building and throughout the system under cloak to keep an eye on things.
While all this was being done I created computer core and an additional nanite slurry for the building but the computer core used up all my precious elements so I had my nanites built of the silicon and carbon present on the planet. I had brought a tray of crystals containing both my research and all the basic technology and history I could take. It was quite basic compared to the ancients but I didn't need it to be hyper advanced with my limited resources. I instructed the bots to create old style silicon and carbon computers connected and networked for each level with nanite slurries. I also had basic data pads made for each level that would also be networked.
Once a few levels were made I had two more bots made and instructed this to recur every so many levels to speed it up and expand outward beneath the surface. More subspace capacitors would need to be made of both the low power and ultra low power variants. The regular subspace capacitors needed elements I didn't have.
I created basic droids throughout besides the repair bots. They were made to be basic but could be instructed by the one AI I was able to bring. She was an AI based on a female Lantean with long brown hair and eyes. She could interact as a basic 2d hologram as I didnt have more advanced tech and it needed to be projected out from an emitter. The droids were equipped with basic energy weapons just in case I had unexpected guests.
With all that done I got to doing what I came here for. I modified the asuran code to not have the aggression programmed in and added a desire to protect and preserve life while making use of the places not condusive to life. This way they would tend to go for the less desirable systems and not compete with life but instead nurture it. I then simplified the design of the basic nanites as I had for the nanite slurries. Using mostly carbon and silicon they need to be much larger, and needed more of them in a group to be able to really function. While the first asurans were at the nanite scale the individual nanites of mine were more at the microscopic although the memrisistors were more on the nanoscale of the individual silicon and carbon based nanites. I then gave them the limited scientific and technological knowledge I had (higher levels and examples of tech was just described in order to maybe inspire and know it was possible) and took within my own body some to incorporate so that I would really be an equal in a way. Slowly my body would become like theirs as time went on and cells died though it would take years. Lastly I made it so each nanite could be somewhat unique. They would be very similar but you couldn't use one strategy easily to destroy or tamper with them all. I wanted the beings created to be unique but put in redundancies so that minds would be backed up and there would be multiple fail-safes to ensure they stuck to my vision. They would also listen to me unless I ever became compromised or corrupted.
I instructed them only to reproduce as time and space permitted it, and then I made my first few replicators. Each was an individual and had their own personality. Some were scientific minded while others preferred social interaction, but they all got down to work. They knew the wraith were feeding on humans and Lanteans in the galaxy and hoped to stop it. They too agreed with me about the Lanteans, intelligent but seemingly stunted somehow in their development. It was unfortunate that I couldn't bring more of a knowledge base for them, but they slowly would grow.
One of them felt we needed more defenses so they made a few ground based energy cannons and fast firing energy repeaters to help defend against fighters. This was all under cloak and would be shielded by the base. Because of this only several could be made. Eventually some would be made for defense satellites but not for a while.
I thought we needed some shuttles to allow my gate ship to stay at the base. It still had some examples of technology that we didn't know how to make. We could make gate ships but not necessarily some of the materials that were used to make this ship. So we made several regular gate ships with the materials on hand. They didn't have drones though, just a pop up weapon like the old shuttles used to use and was powered by an ultra low power subspace capacitor. They did have sublight drive pods though that don't pop out and obviously don't work off the gene since the pilots would be replicators. They instead linked with the replicator's mind or could be piloted manually like by the droids. The gate ships were in other ways just like the original ones except what they are made of.
Next we decided to make a stargate to let us get out there. It was one of the few advanced pieces of technology that we knew how to build. We also put in ring transporters to go between the different levels of the base and maybe a later orbital base. We built it mostly like the old designs of the stargate because of the materials used to make it but we powered it with the subspace capacitors of the base so when expanded enough it would be able to dial another galaxy. If in another galaxy dialing back we would reverse dial to get back by having the base reverse dial at set incriminates of time. Hopefully eventually we would have a way to communicate between the galaxies to initiate the reverse dial if needed. The gate on our end would have an energy shield and could only even be dialed if a signal was sent along with the dial in from the DHD. This way the wraith couldn't chance upon my location.
There was almost enough power to dial Avalon right now. If things were turned off at the base we could dial even now. So we made a few more levels and made sure to use low power subspace capacitors. We could pretty much dial any of the nearby galaxies if we wanted. We decided we better get over to Avalon before the Lanteans did. I didn't think they would last much longer and I knew their escape plan was there. There were several repositories of knowledge that if we found, though a few millions of years out date would still greatly improve our technology. We would have to do it by copying the crystals behind the wall at such a site.
We created several new human form replicators and sent them through to Avalon in two separate gate ships under cloak to two different gate addresses along with several of the simple droids in each of the gate ships and redialed each an hour later to check on them. One of them didn't find much, just a deserted world, but the other came under attack by strange men with staff weapons. Just my luck, I head to completely another galaxy and stumble upon yet another enemy. I told the two gate ships to head to the uninhabited world with no people on it to develop a base.
I sent some portable ultra low power subspace capacitors through to them along with a nanite slurry, two repair bots, one computer core, and a copy of the one AI I had. I then sent one of the two gate ships to explore the system and look for any other habitable planets or moons along with doing a general survey to ensure there was nothing that would bring the enemy there. Unfortunately they did find resources that would make the systems a target for any enemy looking for naquadah or trinium. I then had them use the nanite slurry along with the ultra low power subspace capacitors for modifying the two gate ships under cover to a ship more equivalent to my custom gate ship. They needed them to have a faster than light drive and a low power subspace capacitor instead of an ultra low power subspace capacitor. I knew it may be a while before we hear from them again but they needed to scope out the nearby systems to find one without a stargate and nothing to bring someone to their doorstep. I told them to look to red dwarf systems, and that a moon of a gas giant would be best. We communicated one last time and then they set off in opposite directions to find a place to have a base faster.
I needed to put my eggs in more than one basket so I did the same thing in Pegasus as they did in Avalon. I modified two gate ships in the same way, gave them some portable ultra low power subspace capacitors, a nanite slurry, a computer core, and a copy of the AI. I then sent them in opposite directions to find worlds similar to the one where I built the base here and hoped it wouldn't be too long before I had three bases in Pegasus and hopefully at least one in Avalon. I would then have them build up underground as is happening here and expand in numbers. We needed researchers, engineers, soldiers, etc. We needed to build a society from the ground up. After that we needed to build ships and develop our systems.
I decided to label the modified gate ships as my corvettes, and to make a fleet of twelve of them along with their crews. We didn't have the infrastructure currently to make defense satellites and the like, but we could set up a patrol in this and nearby systems. At the very least it will give us a heads up to be able to flee.
I looked at what technology we currently had again. We knew how to make faster than light drives and hyperdrives, but didn't have the more complicated designs for the intergalactic ones. Ours were just the simple versions of each. Pretty much all our technology was the simple versions of it. I would have to get my researchers working on making more advanced versions if I wasn't going to get to the repository soon. At least we had time on our side, but the people of Pegasus didn't.
But unfortunately we didn't really have a choice but to take our time. Since we didn't need the new corvette designs to have the lab part and stuff I decided to do a last minute change by having a downsized cannon that would pop up in the back part of the ship where the lab and small quarters were on my ship along with the same shield as my ship since it now had a larger low power subspace capacitor. At least then in numbers the ship could pose a threat though a small one. They still had the fast firing energy weapons that were anti fighter weapons. I also added a moderately sized pop up weapon underneath the ship that was an anti personnel weapon. The strange men with the staff weapons in Avalon inspired it. It is an upsized version with a stub barrel that would make small explosions on impact. The ships could dive, use their fast firing energy weapons and then use the underside weapon to fire in an 360 degree arc around the ship. The fast firing weapons were fixed forward though so we added small missiles that would shoot straight up and then go forward or back to go after fighters. They were small and really only for attacking vehicles like darts as we didn't know or have the ability to make the drones yet. I removed 2 of the drone weapons from my own ship to save them for study when we had better ability to mimic the technology even though we would never waste precious elements like that.
The corvettes were not nimble like the original gate ships and definitely not as nimble as the darts, but the shields and greater weapons should allow them to be more versatile. I decided to make smaller versions that were really meant to fill the roll of a fighter to accompany the corvettes. They were still slightly longer than the original gate ships, but just had the fixed energy weapons, were more aerodynamic to reduce profile so they were only about half as tall with a canopy cockpit with just one small seat and no accessible compartment behind, and a small faster than light drive where the compartment would have been. It had no shield and only a cloak. It would be piloted by a slightly smaller droid version of the one we were already using on our bases, and the vehicle would be narrower to fit the smaller profile of the canopy so it would be similar in design to a dart. Two of the fighters would be made for every corvette to accompany them. The droids that we were using throughout were made to be simple and easy to produce. They could be made with whatever was available but tended to be made of lesser common metals reinforced with carbon nanotubes or just carbon nanotubes. The metals were often used as it sped the production and the main feature needed was the fast and easy production of units. Besides being used for menial labor and for piloting, some were used for patrolling in and around the base while being equipped with a basic energy rifle and energy pistol.
After the twelve corvettes and accompanying fighters were made, several groups of fighters would be made followed by units of one corvette and two fighters as needed. I also decided to make some troop transports to go out and harass wraith throughout Pegasus. They would head out to other systems to utilize their stargate to go and drop off teams of droids to function as five man teams to help protect humans and maybe obtain new technology. The transports would be basically just a gate ship with only the cloak, faster than light drive, and the fixed fast firing energy weapons so that they would have room for two replicators along with five droids. The replicators would drop off the five droids and then stay while under cloak in the ship at most times to act as a forward base. The droids were disposable and would have any intel that would be useful to any enemy erased before leaving the ship. This way high risk missions and attempts to help the humans in the galaxy could be carried out without worry. Even still the droids would self destruct if disabled like a grenade. These units unlike the ones at the bases would have small grenades to throw at enemies behind cover. Several transports and their crews would be made and sent out throughout the galaxy at once at first to help throw off the wraith and not give them an idea of where we are coming from. They always would take several trips through stargates before performing an attack.
Right now the Lanteans are slowly being eliminated from the galaxy by the wraith. Priority will be given to ensuring the wraith do not get their hands on Lantean technology. Attempts will be made to recover technology, but keeping it out of the hands of the wraith is most important. Several dozen transports and their crew have been made and sent out. Right now there are just too many wraith to send out lone five man teams. The first few were basically decimated immediately. It was changed to having the transports doubled in length but still shorter than the corvettes so the transports would now carry twelve man droid teams. They would also function with three transports disgorging their twelve man teams of droids per mission, quantity over quality. They were also given air support by the groups of fighters as needed, so more fighters were made to keep in reserve back at the bases. This greatly improved the success and confused the wraith about what this new player was. The transports crews of replicators were gathering intel by observation and by picking up transmissions that the wraith thought it was a last ditch ploy by the Lanteans. They were kind of right since that is what I once was, but I considered the replicators my new race. Still we did assist groups of survivors of both Lanteans and humans when we could.
The Lanteans accepted the limited help we gave them as we assisted them fleeing a few attacks by the wraith, but by the third time this happened they requested to know who we were. The droids had a basic computer voice for simple communication when needed, but the replicators could use the droids as radios. The Lanteans could tell where the radio contact was coming from but were in the middle of fleeing and two, they were just mostly curious who we were. The replicators just said that we were friends but we couldn't say more for now, and that we probably would not be able to make much of an impact on the war other than to try to help survivors before the Lantean would have to leave. We didn't say it outright, but we led them to believe that the droids were the weapons of a more advanced human race that was in hiding from the wraith and only doing what we could. There were at the time several more advanced races that while no where near the level of the Lanteans were also fighting a losing battle with the wraith. Some of the races were attempting to hide from the wraith as known to the Lanteans, but they were aware that most were unsuccessful even with the Lanteans' help. Within a few weeks we no longer saw any Lanteans after a failed diplomatic mission that we caught word of from human populations. How the Lanteans were planning to negotiate with the wraith I will never know, but I believed the Lanteans had enacted their failsafe and fled the galaxy. Hopefully in time they will come back, but I wasn't optimistic as their numbers were so low by now. When I fled we were down to thousands instead of millions, and I had encountered many slaughters since then.
Wraith activity within a month started to die down and we were doing the same with our activities. We needed them to think we were the Lanteans if they were going dormant. If the wraith were not culling I knew that we would have to put off doing more about them or risk further cullings on the already diminished human populations. While we cut back on our attacks as long as they weren't culling we were sending out many scavenging parties to get or destroy as much technology as we could.
Back at the base we had added a geothermal plant and had gotten into contact with two new bases that had been established and created stargates. Both were worlds that were barely liveable. One had a thin atmosphere, and the other was an arctic world. The one with a thin atmosphere did have some sparse life of plants and insects and critters. It appeared to have once had a far more liveable atmosphere but that was before the alterrans had even come and was slowly dying. Since we made our bases underground and were replicators it didn't matter. I would need a more liveable atmosphere for a century or so yet so they maintained a thicker atmosphere within the base. I had them preserve dna samples of the life there though so we could perhaps give the life there new life somewhere else or maybe even there someday if we terraform it. The arctic world barely had any life at all if it did. A geothermal plant was established there early on along with the many low power ultra low power subspace capacitors to provide warmth in addition to power. Within all my bases much plant life was put in to make any visitors comfortable if we ever have any, and to make the planets feel more alive. On the dying world I decided to have them make underground habitats and domes to let the life native there have another chance, but I still kept the samples.
I had finally gotten contact from my base in Avalon a few weeks later. They had established a base on a dwarf planet far out in a red dwarf system. Apparently the enemy there was quite unfriendly and found and destroyed one of my groups there when they accidentally uncloaked where an apparently cloaked enemy was. They destroyed themselves instead of getting caught and having any of the technology taken. The minds of the replicators were backed up though and given new bodies after the base there was established. But because of this they travelled quite a ways into the outer rim to where a supernova had destroyed any nearby life a few million years ago to help ensure the security of their new base. They discovered the name of the new enemy there. They were called the goa'uld and this was discovered by having one of the human form replicators blend in and communicate with some former slaves on a backwoods planet that had been recently abandoned by the goa'uld after infighting between two goa'uld since the planet was running out of the naquadah that the goa'uld apparently needed. One of the newly constructed modified gate ships there (as they were out of communication when I came up with the other types of ships) had done some surveilling there and discovered that the goa'uld there right now had really slow hyperdrives and their ships were far weaker than anything in this system. We can already build ships that would be more powerful than theirs. Right now they only have pyramid shaped thing as their biggest ship with no external structures and looked more like a palace than a ship. There were other smaller ships including the small ones that can cloak. The goa'uld appear to mostly rely on the stargates to maintain control and wage war.
Since there were people there and the enemy there seemed to be easier to defeat I decided to leave Pegasus and let my replicators there focus on establishing new hidden bases, building up bases there, and scavenging technology there. Apparently the wraith have gone into their dormant period and it is better if we let them sleep for the century or two that they plan to and build up until then. Right now in that galaxy I mostly needed to concentrate on bases as our technology is too even for my comfort unless I just have overwhelming numbers. Still I would send out replicators amongst the people there to help them rebuild and to instruct the people of the galaxy to make their shelters underground and into mountains in order to hide them as best we can. I wish i could uplift some of them somewhat but I don't want to get the attention of the wraith too soon. I also have discovered a strange occurrence amongst the people of Pegasus. Some of the people worship the wraith and are traitors. I don't understand it but because they vanquished the ancestors as they say, they think they are gods. Crazy in my opinion, and they are not tolerated at all if discovered and are killed. I will have my people there make some bigger ships there though for now just in case. For there my base of operations probably should be based on a ship that can move anyways. I told them to make ships that mimic the wraith in many ways. I had them make cruisers and carriers that basically look the same as the wraith cruiser and hive but are silicon and carbon instead of a living ship. I would use their own designs against them until I got better technology. I couldn't build ships as fast as they could grow them, but mine have shields, don't have to take breaks after using my hyperdrives and in fact use faster than light drives instead of hyperdrives (I needed to make sure they wraith never got those drives as then they would cover way more ground since the ships wouldn't get the radiation damage), and I could support a larger fleet (although mine couldn't be built or replaced as fast) as mine is not dependent upon a food source as their crews are. My ships would in some ways be stronger as they have shields but mine couldn't be repaired as fast or have as thick of hulls or they would collapse under their own weight. But regardless I instructed them to slowly build up and headed to Avalon.
I knew the Goa'uld could not compete with my ships if I build what I was planning to build in Pegasus in Avalon also. Besides such ships being far more powerful, the goa'uld ships take months to travel in what takes days for me. I technically could travel between the galaxies in a few years with my drives so maybe they aren't as slow as I thought just in comparison to Lantean tech they are other than compared to the Aurora class ships. Those ships are still faster than mine but not by much especially if I brute forced it with power. The Aurora hyperdrive is more refined and well tuned though, but much more complicated.
The goa'uld do however make up for the lack of strength of their ships in their sheer numbers. I got my people to slowly start making my ships in both galaxies and decided to send out many replicators as spies amongst the human populations of the galaxy to gather as much intel about the goa'uld as possible. My ships might be slow to build but the replicators are not. In this galaxy I would use my replicators more for the fighting as it would hide that it is coming from me and my droids while primitive ones would tip my hat as being far more advanced than the humans of here. Once we know more about the goa'uld I probably will play their infighting against them. My replicators can perform attacks as enemy jaffa as they are called to weaken them from within. I got to figure out how to weaken P'tau's heir Ra though because if I weaken the others it will just make him stronger than he already is. Perhaps I can stage attacks as Ra against his allies and those he is not currently fighting.
We ended up making thousands of replicators to send out as spies and saboteurs. The pretending to be Jaffa thing didn't work out as well as I thought as apparently they can sense each other and that my replicators are not Jaffa. I am however able to perform sabotage attacks and possibly even stir up rebellions amongst the people eventually, but it will be a while as they think they are Gods. I ended up having worlds created to pretend to be other races to attack the goa'uld. I stopped most sabotage attacks as it just caused the people to be punished unless it was made to look like enemy goa'uld did it. I made worlds that would act as forward operating bases to stage droid attacks through the gate at them. Replicators would be in charge but stay behind and just send the foot soldiers through. Still even on those worlds I had the replicators to pretend to just be droids and assume the appearance of them to not let them know we could look like humans.
On these forward operating base worlds we made ships that looked different than the ones we would eventually use that were stronger and looked like the wraith ships but synthetic. I had them made ships that looked purposely primitive. I would probably do this in the Pegasus galaxy too. I would have droid worlds where they wouldn't send foot soldiers directly through the gates but they would make the primitive easy to produce ships that may not be of the same quality as the Wraith ships but we're easily produced and disposable. In both galaxies when the droid ships went out the big ships of the more advanced ships or the corvettes would be nearby to do the actual commanding of the droid forces. This way usually replicators wouldn't usually have to be aboard and at risk on the weaker ships.
The droids ships would be one long rounded off rectangle thing that would serve the same purpose as the goa'uld al'kesh bombers or their troop transports. These ships would be powered by fusion instead of the subspace capacitors to not let the enemy get their hands on it. All the droid ships and technology it was decided would be fusion based, geothermal based, or thorium fission based. The ships would get their fuel by utilizing smaller gas giants. The other ship that the droids would use would look like a large flat rectangle. All these ships would be based on the easily obtained metals but the ones in Pegasus would be reinforced with carbon nanotubes while the ships, droids, and technology in Avalon would not be reinforced with the nanotubes to not let the goa'uld get the technology. The weapons used would be weaker, more efficient designs of what I used on my higher tech stuff but would need to be weaker and possibly smaller due to less power being available. The larger droid ships would only be a quarter of the size of the hive ships or my better ships. They would utilize basic shields and less advanced but more efficient cloaks. The weapons on the smaller ship would be weaker versions of what my corvettes have but more of them as it is a longer craft and the larger ship would have weaker ones like my large advanced ship has. That ship has cannons and our versions of weapons where the wraith hive has them including the various sizes of cannons. The larger droid ships would be like a scaled down version of the more advanced ship without hangers but having two large but less powerful cannons up front. The large droid ships would be slight more powerful than the goa'uld ship while the same could be said for the smaller ship and the al'kesh but it had more weapons than the al'kesh and could carry more than a dozen droids.
The droid worlds selected were purposely desolate rocky worlds because they would provide numerous building materials and the replicators could assemble bases, droids, and ships just using their nanites with the metals so it would be built up super fast. Afterwards the droids would build things themselves in case of being observed but they could get a massive head start and be up and going with a small fleet and base in days. The replicators would then mostly leave other than the few hiding nearby in cloaked ships.
In short order about a dozen droid worlds in each galaxy were up and going. The ones in Avalon though used simpler silicon based computers and technology to appear simpler and not allow the goa'uld technology while the ones in Pegasus used more advanced carbon based computers and technology. In a few months the dozen worlds in each had a fairly large fleet each. Now was the time for the replicators to disappear as discussed earlier. The replicators that left went back to their worlds and kept expanding. The droid worlds would stick to a dozen in each galaxy and be less hidden to actually provide targets to be attacked. They would have the appearance of being hidden as being built into mountains and underground but without cloaks (although they would have the more basic lower powered shields that fusion required). In Pegasus they were just basically sitting there and waiting for the build up of the real fleet and because the wraith were dormant. But in Avalon they were now going to go on the offensive.
The ships in Avalon were slower because of the fusion power source and using purposely smaller more efficient faster than light drives but would still blow up before letting the goa'uld get them. They were about a quarter as fast as my ships but still way faster than the goa'uld and of w completely different way of traveling than they used. With the goa'uld's lower power compared to my subspace capacitor powered ships, they actually would be able to go faster with their level of power using faster than light drives. The faster than light drive takes less power to initiate but has less potential. Hyperdrives take more to punch into hyperspace but have more potential. If the goa'uld got my drives they could get places in a few weeks instead of many months with ships.
We first built up many corvettes and their escorts to go out and find out where the goa'uld fleets were. Some traveled under cloak with their faster than light drives while others made use of gates. This was also done in Pegasus but to find out where not to be to disturb the wraith along finding technology. Too bad Atlantis doesn't allow dial ins or our technology would be way more advanced. In Pegasus the gate ship troop ships were still being sent out with droids for recovery operations along with replicators now being sent out in massive numbers to be dropped off and sent through many gates to help people and try to become incorporated into different peoples both openly and not. Sometimes the people were aware they were not human even if they didn't understand the extent of it but where it was thought people would be hostile or afraid of them it was done in secret so we could still help them. We sought out new allies, taught them ways and where to hide from the wraith. We helped them recover what they lost of their society so they didn't regress technologically, and we acted as teachers and healers. We helped them plant their crops and showed them ways to improve their harvest. We didn't advance them too far but we made sure people were being taught to read and write along with math and whatever their culture knew prior to the wraith. Lastly having ensured that we taught them to read and write we told them to write down what they knew and their history to keep in libraries underground to give them something to build off of if culled in the future. Some communities did need to be guided to other communities if they were now unsustainable or too small of population. Usually several unsustainable communities would be combined instead of having them go to an already sustainable one, but every now and then a world would welcome those in need so we sent them there. We told them to try to not to have too many people in one area or place so larger populations dispersed throughout the world with various hiding places but sometimes to other colonies through the gate. We wanted to ensure the various peoples survival.
Back in Avalon, now knowing the fleet composition of them we saw opportunities to strike. We quickly had the twelve fleets attack different areas. Smaller goa'uld were easy to pick off and many fell right away with few losses as the fleet was large. Once the goa'uld started to fall the people were more willing to rise up and believe the goa'uld were not Gods. After the third minor goa'uld fell an unexpected development happened. My droids were approached by what we thought was goa'uld but claimed to be different. They said there was a queen breeding and sewing discontent from within. I met with them on a neutral world with several replicators along with droids. They were surprised that it was humans behind the droid attacks. They thought there was an alien race behind it. I told them that though we look human we are not. I showed them that though I was flesh and blood the others were not. I explained that I was from a people in another galaxy evolved by the gate builders.
They were shocked. They thought the gate builders died out. I explained that the last of them ascended but I had myself known some of them. I warned them that there was an even greater enemy in the other galaxy and that I was trying to hurry it up here to be able to bring the fight back there. I told them that my people did at first have the accumulated knowledge of the ancients as they knew them but I was only able to take part of it with me so much was lost. I advised them to lay low to preserve their numbers as I was using the droids as they were not truly sentient and that all life was precious, synthetic or biological. I also warned them that the sarcophagus had negative effects and needed to be used sparingly. They said that they were aware and they felt it was part of the reason their fellows were so cruel. We then started to part agreeing to share certain intel. They were worried at first about me picking off the weaker goa'uld as they thought it would only make Ra stronger, but then I told and showed them that the droid army wasn't my real army but rather just a proxy one that I used until the time was right. They were surprised when I showed them two examples of my carriers and four of my cruisers that I uncloaked. I brought the tok'ra aboard by ringing up and they were shocked to see thousands of replicators. I then took them home to their base that they didn't know I knew about (I had tracked what I thought were several goa'uld there not knowing that they were different and had planned to attack soon so it was good that they revealed themselves). They were shocked that I knew where they came from and even more so when they discovered it would only take a few hours to get there when their ships would take many weeks. I told them I thought my faster than light drives were slow and that we had had intergalactic ones capable of crossing the void in days. I refueled some in a gas giant along the way just to allow them to see it. These ships realt mostly used my subspace capacitors but I didn't inform them of that but had fusion reactors also as backup or for more power. These larger ships had hyperdrives also and subspace capacitors could not be used when in hyperspace though they did have capacitors to store some energy for instances of using the hyperdrives. The capacitors would provide enough power to allow for the ship to punch further into hyperspace where the fusion reactors could then provide the power needed.
The tok'ra on the planet were quite frightened when my large ships first exited hyperspace, but felt much better after the tok'ra on board ringed down. We then did a short jump in hyperspace before switching to the faster than light drives so we could be cloaked. A little while later I saw something coming on sensors that I didn't expect to see. It was an Asgard ship that apparently detected me. They hailed me after they caught up to me. They would have no matter what as they were traveling at a speed not far behind our old intergalactic drives, but I had stopped and turned off our cloaks to at least seem somewhat less threatening. It was Odin and he was shocked to see what appeared to be humans or ancients onboard when they only detected one life sign. I explained that I was a Lantean, and that we had been evolved in Pegasus by the ancients after they started to ascend to watch over the humans there. He then asked what we were doing here and why did they only detect me on my ship. I told him it would be easier if he just came aboard so I could explain and even show him.
Odin came aboard, he was saddened his friends the Alterrans were gone, they could have used their help. I went on to explain the disaster in the Pegasus galaxy and that we had failed the Alterrans but I was trying to fix that. I told him out I only had a fraction of our past personal technology and knowledge as we had been gifted the entire Alterran database and technology. He was shocked as they had been trying to unravel the secrets of the repositories for milenia. He was even more shocked that we had lost to the wraith with the technology we had had. I explained that I felt the ancients as they are now known made a mistake somehow. When we were forcefully evolved we lost our ability to be able to adapt and think outside the box. I told them how ridiculously we used the science ships to fight the wraith. He sighed and said they made a similar mistake with themselves. They had started cloning themselves to extend their life but now after a disease only a few of them could mate, but it was too small of a genetic pool to be sustainable.
I explained how I left my people after the discovery of the asurans, that I disagreed with how my people treated and limited them. He was apprehensive once he understood what the asurans were as they themselves were having an issue with a pest they have just discovered that they call the replicators that seems to be getting more advanced as they go, but at the same time he could tell my people were different. He was happy to hear how I was trying to help the people here as well as in Pegasus. I asked why they had not eliminated the goa'uld, and he said they have a treaty with them. They probably would have but they only came back here after many milenia right as all their problems were starting to actually see if they could find any ancients to help them so they did not feel that they could bring enough of their fleet here to fight the goa'uld so they made a treaty to at least preserve some of the cultures of the galaxy, and now as they were honorable they didn't feel they could break it. I made him aware of the Tok'ra, which he said he was aware of and hoping that they would some day topple the goa'uld as they don't suffer from the infighting but so far they appear to be limited by their numbers. We prepared to part and agreed to help each other if we could but as of now neither of us were in the position so we just shared the addresses of where we could be reached. I did tell them if worse came to worse I would give them the technology to build replicator bodies just so that they could continue living. Odin thanked me and made me aware that the Nox were still around but have become reclusive and withdrawn from the galaxy but the furling appear to be slowly dying out and leaving this region of space. The furling had reached the end of their evolution it seems but instead of ascending they seem to be losing their ability to reproduce and as each dies they don't get replaced. It is unknown why this happened but Odin thought it might be because they dispersed their race too much slowly various branches died out leaving little genetic diversity. After saying this he left.
Having seen the Asgard beaming technology I told my researchers to look into it. Atlantis had something close but still needed transportation devices at both ends. What the asgard have accomplished is puzzling. I also decided to have my engineers make missiles for my cruiser and carrier ships that would have nuclear fusion warheads. I decided to go all out and have them be cloaked with a faster than light drive to perform hit and run attacks. They wouldn't necessarily be the most useful here but they would be for the wraith. I would also have the droids have a version but with a simpler cloak and materials at least in Avalon to not risk the tech getting out.
My droid fleets continued to have success in picking off goa'uld and we began to send droid armies to liberate people through the gates. The ground battle were brutal because the jaffa thought the goa'uld were gods and would died before surrendering. Every now and then a tok'ra would signal me and we would get them out or try to spare the ship they were on. Sadly it wasn't always possible, and the Tok'ra understood we couldn't always ignore an attacking ship just because one tok'ra was hiding there. When a tok'ra was found but couldn't be saved they were given the option to have their minds uploaded to a replicator body. A few did this, especially the hosts, but many tok'ra just accepted death for some reason. I would allow them to leave if they do desired afterward but most just wanted a different life after all they had been through. Still they would often visit with their tok'ra allies and friends and since they had recently lost their Queen many knew eventually if they wanted to go on they may need to have their minds uploaded.
Having become such good friends with the tok'ra with some amongst us we deciphered how they made their tunnels and it sped up our base building. The leaders of the Tok'ra were not happy that we figured this out, and I was seeing that while different from goa'uld many still have a superiority complex. It was weird considering almost all their knowledge and technology was taken from others to act so superior.
I decided to try to hurry this up. I really wanted to get back to Pegasus to fight the wraith along with reclaiming the knowledge and technology of the ancients. I warned the tok'ra that I was going to go on a major offensive, and sent all 12 fleets into Ra's territory and started to decimate Ra's forces. . . at first. Then something happened, I ran into a stranger new ship that packed much more of a punch. The battles were won but at great cost. My ships were now out classed and only won due to greater numbers.
We withdrew and limped back. This wasn't good because they now knew I was out there and yet my ships were now limping back. I knew my main ships would outclass them, but were not as of yet of enough numbers to tilt it. I decided to make a more basic droid ship version of my big carrier ship. It could carry my long droid ships instead of the fighters and corvettes my main ship carried. I needed these ships fast so I sent replicators to all the droid worlds and made many more replicators to speed it up even more. These would not have hyperdrives though. I instructed them to build them also in Pegasus when possible. Meanwhile Ra with the other goa'uld were slowly heading back towards the systems lost to Ra and the minor goa'uld. I had my droids start putting up many ground cannons to defend ships from orbit but I knew if I didn't build the bigger ships fast enough I would have to make strategic retreats. My droids' worlds were pretty safe though because they were too far for the Goa'uld to get to in months. When they catch up to my ships around the worlds taken from the goa'uld I would slowly retreat letting the ground cannons with the ships fire to thin out the goa'uld's fleet each world they take back. I had the droids and replicators evacuate the people off the worlds under threat to a world we had come across that didn't have anything that would attract the goa'uld but was perfect for new settlers. We set them up with numerous shelters, helped them plant crops, and food and supplies to hold them over until their crops and stuff came in. We would continue to help them and were currently treating them for malnourishment and infections.
A few weeks later they had started to reach the various worlds we had taken and we began our slow retreat. Any cannons still there at the end of the battle self destructed. This happened one battle at a time. We would lose ships, but they lost more. They mostly lost the old class of ships along with the smaller ships, while we lost mostly the smaller ships along with a few of the bigger ships. By now a couple of the larger ships were done so we sent them to the next world to be attacked and waited. Then they came, and they were stopped at that world. We lost a couple of the large ships, but none of the new ones although one was damaged. I decided to use any worlds we took from them as a droid world until the war was won and then we would give the worlds back or return them to their natural state but we needed more ships fast. The droid ships might be junk but they were fast to be built. I would have more replicators made to make the ships and droids. The first ships made would always be the two smaller ships because they were the easiest to build fast but then they would focus on the bigger ones. After the war is over we will retreat to the less desirable systems that wouldn't take from other races to avoid conflict. I was a fan of the countless red dwarf systems that didn't even have habitable planets. There was something about developing a dead system and bringing some life to it even if it is in space habitats and domes.
My researchers were starting to make some headway, but not too much. Mostly they just have improved slightly what we already had. We were starting to build some particle colliders and starting to build the infrastructure in my more permanent replicator systems to do stellar lifting, but it is really slow going. It will not be of benefit to this war or the wraith after.
I reached out to the Asgard to see how it was going with the war with the replicators and was surprised to hear it wasn't going so well. I asked them to send me some battle data to see if I could see anything that might help them out. I could tell right away a lot of the problem was how they were going about fighting them. I could see right away that the replicators almost seemed to be farming them for better and better materials and tech to consume. Sometimes the replicators would even ignore an older gen of ship. I suggested to them that they have to utilize self destruct more and to try to take advantage of the fact that they ignore certain types of ships if they are made of older tech. I showed them how I was fighting the goa'uld with my cheap junk droid fleets that were easy to produce and wouldn't provide them much of an advantage if captured. I also pointed out that the replicators seem to be invulnerable to most energy weapons so they may want to use old style projectile weapons. Lastly I pointed out they may want to create traps for them. If they like advanced materials, give them something to snack on where they have a bomb set up. I also suggested trying to make some of their more advanced ships out of simpler materials on purpose so that they are not attractive to the replicators first of all, and secondly so if they are taken over the replicators are easier to dispose of. The better the materials they are made of the harder they seem to be to destroy. I also said they may need to employ suicide tactics. Not literally but set ships with desirable materials on collision courses that can be controlled by remote into the affected ships. They needed to think unconventionally and to have their people in places with few desirable materials.
I started having my droids go to any uninhabited worlds to build droid ships. I would just try to overwhelm them. I decided to do it in Pegasus too. The wraith were mostly dormant, and then I could just send them as a meat shield for my better ships and the largest droid ship would be a threat with their carbon nanotube reinforced metals as they were more technologically advanced at least militarily. I would still only use up to fusion power on all my droid tech and ships to lower the chance of the wraith getting their hands on the various subspace capacitors. I was already extremely worried that they would somehow eventually get their hands on my faster than light drives and no longer need to rest between hyperjumps. I started using the more basic cloaks for the droid worlds in addition to the ships. At first I wanted them to be found but now my strategy had changed. In Pegasus I needed to create a lot of replicators to build all this, in Avalon I largely had enough though I would build some more. After the wars most of the less desirable systems would slowly become replicator worlds while the others that could support life would be dismantled for the other peoples of the galaxy. We would keep at least twelve systems as droid worlds to base our droid fleets out of. They would hopefully have rocky desolate worlds present.
Our fleets were now growing dramatically, although mostly of the two smaller droid types for now. The more advanced ones were too as many undesirable systems were being converted to replicator systems before we started dramatically increasing the droid worlds while the uninhabited life supporting worlds and systems were being used as droid worlds already. Developing the future places for replicator development as droid worlds first in ways would speed later development of them as there would already be bases there then with at least fusion generators until we installed the subspace capacitors.
I decided to go send some of the many new ships to attack Ra's flank since my ships were so much faster than his. This could throw him off, and even if they didn't have the bigger types yet they would give him a black eye with their sheer numbers. It took them a few weeks but then it was like it was when I first attacked them. Worlds were falling and he was losing many ships. I had seen a few of the new type but he apparently had sent almost all of the new ones after the other front not knowing I could flank him. After doing this for a few days I would redirect and attack him from a side, and then a few days later I would send them to the other side. Ra won't know where to attack at all then. As I could over worlds I would install cannons and send off their people to freedom on the world I was sending refugees. These worlds barely had any people on them. While this was going on I took some of my first fleets and my newly constructed droid battleships and sent them to worlds I knew Ra and other goa'uld had shipyards and mines to do raids all over the galaxy. Within weeks their ability to make new ships was severely decimated. I then took my ships and attacked smack dab right in the middle of Ra's territory where they never expected. Again we were rolling over them. I purposely did not attack Ra himself so I had one main enemy instead of dozens. Even still I started to hear from the Tok'ra about complete pandemonium from within goa'uld territory. They were at first confused who this new enemy attacking them was. They were confused how the ships seemed so basic but so strong but after Ra revealed his new capital ships they thought it was no matter as it would soon be over but then massive droid ships showed up out of nowhere and destroyed even Ra's new capital ships. Then to make matters worse they were attacked at the complete opposite of the galaxy, then another side, and then another. They didn't know if there were that many ships or if they were that fast. But then they attacked right in the middle of his territory and they lost almost all their shipyards and mines, and that is when panic really set in. Ra was furious and executed many other goa'uld, but he was also afraid for what many thought was the first time.
I decided now was the time to unveil my even better ships to send terror through them. I assembled a massive fleet of both droid ships and replicator ships and headed off to take out the other system lords that have yet to be attacked. I traveled much of the way uncloaked on purpose so they could see my massive fleet coming by in a way of travel they didn't know and far far faster than anything they have seen other than asgard. When I first decloaked a few days later the tok'ra contacted me to make sure that it was me as it was a massive fleet moving at incredible speed. They were relieved when they knew it was me but also slightly fearful seeing how powerful I really was. I rolled through and decimated system lord after system lord. I didn't even bother taking out their outlying territory, I just went straight to their main worlds, destroyed their fleets, chased them if they fled, and sent massive armies or droids through the stargates. At first the people were afraid until they realized they were not the target but rather their oppressors and that we were there to free them.
Now the Jaffa started to rise up against their masters. I had been broadcasting each goa'uld that was brought down and telling them that their masters were not gods and asking them to rise up. By the time I got around to taking Ra out I almost didn't have to as many of his planets were in revolt. I then left and let my droid armies and fleets to finish up the remaining goa'uld and to help the survivors along with replicators that I had throughout the galaxy now. I explained to the Jaffa through my replicators that despite what they think, the human slaves are their brothers and they can no longer oppress them. I also had my replicators go everywhere throughout the galaxy looking for hiding goa'uld and scavenging technology. They did find a repository and are now in the middle of copying the data off the crystals into our databases. The replicators are currently assimilating the technology and taking a massive step forward.
Despite my technological base getting much better, not much changed at least initially. All my shields were being upgraded, new allotropes of carbon were being discovered and utilized, everything was becoming more efficient, and my ships larger than my corvettes that were not gate ships were being updated to intergalactic drives, even the droid ones. My droid technology was being updated to use almost all the new advances and technologies along with having their metals being reinforced. They were still somewhat more basic in their materials than my replicator technology so everything was slightly less good but still faster and easier to make. I had my researchers gather anything and everything related to cloning and fixing their fertility problems and had it sent on to the asgard. They greatly thanked me and felt they would now find the answer while their war was going much much better against the replicators. It was perfect timing too as their race almost seemed poised to split.
I headed to the planet of Avalon finally and headed down to the frozen continent. I didn't find any lanteans but there were signs they were there not long ago. I found some amongst the people of the planet but not nearly as many as I expected. Apparently they tried rebuilding but miscalculated by putting their new colony on a volcanic island that erupted before they realized that it was unstable and proceeded to sink beneath the seas. I spoke with a few survivors and they said they had gone there to make use of geothermal power but tapped into the wrong chamber causing the explosion. They lost everything and all their technology but were now a part of the communities they resided in and didn't want to leave.
We went to Antarctica as the people called it in their tongue and built a base at the sight of our old base that had been built by the ancients. I powered the defensive drones again and built an underground base. We also found a gate and dhd buried in a desert and a goa'uld ship hidden by pyramids. Finding this I sent replicators throughout the planet to search for and eliminate any threat from the goa'uld to the people. I also instructed them to help teach the people along with acting as healers. I decided to make an exception to my sticking to uninhabited planets in this system and decided to reside on the frozen continent and to develop the rest of the system.
After this we went through the gate to Atlantis as apparently this was the only gate that could access it. We reclaimed the city and added many low power and ultra low power subspace capacitors along with adding towers that can extend beyond the shield to fire energy weapons. They were still protected by a shield when they did but of the type used by the Auroras instead of a city ship. I also sent replicators to secure a downed city ship that somehow the wraith never found to restore using carbon based technology along with modifying it in the way Atlantis is. We added drones to our various ships now that we better understood them but they were a carbon based one that would try to pierce and return for charge rather than just explode when a viable option. They were not as good as the original drones but were super easy to make out of silicon and carbon while using a fusion reactor. We sent the further information discovered on cloning and fertility to the asgard along with a beaming weapon that should disrupt the replicators' nanites to finally end the war. When we finally went to war against the wraith they said that we could count on their help in helping the people of Pegasus. They also would help ensure the safety of the people of Avalon. It may take a while to withdraw from much of the galaxies as it seems we needed to provide order and protection for now. Many goa'uld had also gone into hiding.
Seeing the city ships again, I decided to make more of our own. They would not be as advanced at least in the materials used, and would be limited to shields of the type of the auroras but with much more power behind them. They were similar in shape and basic layout to the city ships. They would still have three zpms that would be slowly recharged by the numerous ultra low power and low power subspace capacitors. I decided to make two variants of city ships going forward, city ships and what I would call outpost city ships. Both would have the same main structure but would differ slightly in other ways. The outpost city ships and my new city ships would be largely made of whatever was readily available, but usually a poured resilient silicate concrete that are reinforced with carbon nanotubes and metals such as titanium and lesser metals. They are then covered with a non corrosive seal to prevent the metals and concrete from degrading over time. The main structures of the outpost city ships and my new city ships could be laid down quite fast but the technology used on the outpost city ship version would be based on the more simple to make and resistant to harsh environments silicon and carbon technology while the regular city ships would be based on the more advanced carbon and silicon technology doped with rare metals and elements when it would improve performance. The outpost city ship's computers and technology was not near as fast or capable but it was still really fast and advanced compared to almost anything else. I let them get to making multiple outpost city ships and regular city ships throughout both galaxies. In a few months we would have a bunch of outpost city ships, and a few months later we would have some of the more advanced city ships. Both designs of my city ships were about a third larger than Atlantis to accommodate for having fusion reactors, the storage tanks for the fusion fuel, other reactors and computer core rooms, nanite slurries, and the intakes for refueling in gas giants or certain stars if needed. The star drive also needed to be larger and there was a cloak along with the faster than light drives. Both Atlantis and Borealis now had cloaks as their standard equipment and all city ships were made to utilize geothermal power plants beneath the city when available.
All of my ships and bases were now being equipped with an AI if they were the size of a cruiser or larger (or when it came to the droid ships the one larger than their smallest ships that was a rectangle about a quarter the size of a wraith hive; from now on we just would refer to them as droid cruisers with the larger one considered a droid carrier or battleship). The ones on our more advanced ships and city ships would be quite advanced, while the ones on most of the droid ships would be more basic but resilient to damage or corruption. The ones on the large droid ships would be more advanced and capable, but still more basic and resilient compared to the replicator ships and city ships. The droid ships and outpost city ships would focus more on redundancy and ease of repair and production than be advanced for all parts of technology. The outpost city ships would still have labs, multiple computer cores, nanite slurries, and ample power, but would focus more on production and manufacturing than research or being a science outpost.
I also decided to repair heliopolis, develop that system to be a replicator system, and preserve the site for historical reasons. We would give it a shield, and in some ways treat it like a city ship with upgrades to the area. It wouldn't be a city ship, and it wouldn't fly, but it would be heavily protected (I hoped someday a new great alliance would form and hoped to help the members of the old alliance along with hoping to save the furling like I was trying to do with the asgard currently). We now knew how to make ZPMs, but they would take a long time to charge. Years for each one and mine were not quite as good or as powerful because of how they were made. I decided to return Atlantis to its original home on Avalon and to move Borealis once it was done to my main world on the outskirts of Pegasus.
I decided to upgrade my shields on my bigger ships to that of an aurora class ship. My other ships would use the same tech but on a smaller scale. Unlike the recent ancients and Lanteans I intended to mostly stick to faster than light travel than hyperdrives to enable cloaking. I would mostly reserve hyperdrives for travel between galaxies. Now that we had better technology I decided to make our worlds and eventually primitive civilizations' worlds in Pegasus while just my worlds in Avalon into fortress worlds using defense satellites like that by Atlantis but with shields, low power subspace capacitors, and cloaks along with antifighter satellites with rapid fire energy weapons and drones.
While the preparations were underway in Pegasus I still had the worlds in Avalon building fleets to attack the wraith in the other galaxy. I knew we already had enough to defeat the wraith but we had thought that before so I was going to way over do it as long as they were hibernating. Also we were giving the wraith worlds a wide berth so a lot of the building would be in Avalon to not tip our hat. We also needed to do a lot of upgrading yet.
In the meantime we decided to dial destiny as we now had worlds with numerous subspace capacitors and I never understood why neither the ancients or lanteans did. Since we were now going to fight the wraith I had the worlds only build the largest ships, the corvettes, and fighters including the smallest droid ship from now on until the war.
When we dialed destiny we did it from the newly repaired Borealis on my main world in Pegasus utilizing the subspace capacitors. After we sent a probe through first we sent a bunch of replicators with portable ultra low power subspace capacitors along with nano slurries and numerous materials for repair. We also sent repair droids. We would call frequently and possibly do some reverse dials but we would eventually do much expansion to destiny in order to increase how much energy it had available in order to be able to dial back itself if possible. In order to do that it would need much more power than Atlantis.
The replicators were already upgrading destiny to stronger shields and adding numerous ultra low power and low power subspace capacitors along with power conduits to support it. We also intended to add drones and upgrade the shuttles to have shields, subspace capacitors, cloaks, drones, and faster than light drives. We needed to add a hanger bay for gate ships for exploring through the gate. We would also upgrade any seed ships we came across and intended to create more seed ships eventually.
Since we had so much we wanted to do to destiny, we decided to just build up from the gate room through the roof and add several levels above it with a good sized hanger right above the gate room. It would have a portal from above like they have in the city ships to protect the gate room in case of decompression in the hanger. The adjacent rooms to the gate room were also opened up to the gate room to make it larger to allow for larger gate ships to go through the gate. I wanted them to have access to regular gate ships of our design along with corvettes and transports that we use to move troops. We did not intend to have to fight or anything, but it would be good to be able to send back up if needed. The hanger bay would also accommodate the shuttles that were now docked to the outside of the ship because that space would be overtaken by expansion of destiny. The shuttles would still be on the outside of the ship, but connect instead to hallways just off of the hanger (to allow for a way to reach the shuttles in case of the hanger bay being decompressed of air. More shuttles were intended to be created to accommodate more people in case of a need of an evacuation. The ship would be built up in a way so that in the front of the ship up on top it would still be up above of where the hanger and shuttles would be. Shuttles would also be connected to the outcropping up above the bridge to allow for people to reach shuttles from there also. Destiny would now be much thicker when faced from the front to allow for much expansion.
Since the wraith were now slumbering I would focus my efforts out by destiny while all the fleets, technology, and worlds were being upgraded. The droids also got some refining done to them, but we still wanted them to be somewhat basic to be easy to be made and so they would still be disposable. If they were truly intelligent and aware it would not feel right to treat them as such. Hyperdrives were being dropped from any droid style ships. We hadn't really added many, but it was decided that we didn't want the fast intergalactic to fall into enemy hands and that the fast intergalactic faster than light drives served the purpose well enough with also allowing them to always travel while cloaked. We thought about going the opposite route temporarily while fighting against the wraith as the wraith would greatly benefit from not having to enter hyperspace but it was decided that it would be fine since our more advanced ships having the ability to go much faster through hyperspace would still prove enough of an advantage if needed if the wraith somehow obtained the faster than light drives. Our more advanced ships that were larger than the cruisers would still retain the fusion reactors and ability to refuel at gas giants (with the updates my larger ships could refuel at larger gas giants than before and even possibly at certain stars like destiny but usually wouldn't bother as the fusion reactors were not as power hungry as whatever destiny used), but would also slowly recharge a single zpm each to allow for faster hyperdrive usage than the fusion reactors could alone provide. They would be much closer to the speed of the city ships, but the city ships would still be much faster.
I paused destiny's mission and had it go to a nearby red dwarf system without life to make a home base where destiny was currently. I had lots of upgrades planned for destiny, and its upgrades would make up for any pause in its journey. It would be much faster afterwards, and with a base of operations on this side of the universe it could be better supported. As destiny would go along in the future it would have new bases of operations added to support the mission and to spread out from. We planned to spread throughout the universe if possible aiding life and bringing a purpose to dead systems. But the biggest reason we wanted to have a base of operations here was to enable two way gate travel without reverse dialing. Destiny would already have much more power available so that it may even be able to dial back to Avalon or Pegasus, but a world with numerous subspace capacitors would for sure. For now our base there would be mostly just numerous subspace capacitors on a world with an outpost city ship at its heart. Once the outpost city ship was up enough to have a stargate and stable environment, destiny's stargate would be dismantled and upgraded with much of the technology of the Pegasus stargates as we planned to upgrade the seed ships to start using also besides just upgrading the seed ships and sending out more (both to explore and continue to plant new style stargates). The new stargate on Destiny would be better able to handle increased power to it and would be connected to the vastly more power that would be provided by the repaired destiny and numerous low and ultra low power subspace capacitors. Destiny could already dial other galaxies, just not back home. It was also able to do reverse dialing which enabled much more stargates to be reachable and to be able to return from. Within a galaxy it was relatively easy to use subspace communications to get a reverse dial done except to very far distanced ones in large galaxies.
It only took a few weeks to get the enough of the outpost ship done to have a stargate and an atmosphere. It wasn't anywhere near done, and couldn't dial to another galaxy yet, but it allowed us to bring down destiny's stargate temporarily to update it. While doing this it was thought of to include simple scanners in upcoming stargates made by new seed ships to collect data and pass it on. This would help destiny's mission, and the mission of exploration period. Destiny was coming along nicely. It was largely repaired with improved though not finished power conduits with a few low power subspace capacitors with many ultra low power ones spread throughout the ship. Some compartments still needed repaired, and the expansion was largely unfinished, but the shuttles were already upgraded with more being made for the new shuttle hatches being created. A few more low power subspace capacitors would be made with more ultra low power ones but not too many more could be made without completely rebuilding the ship as it would need power conduits that couldn't currently fit in the ship as designed. When done it could make quick dial backs to Avalon and Pegasus, but unless additional power was provided at the other end the stargate would quickly turn off. This was only possible because of capacitors added to the ship to allow for the surge of power needed. The ship would retain the ability to refuel in stars although the capability to just make use of gas giants was added (not as powerful of fuel but still an option that wouldn't last as long), but it really wasn't needed except for when it was really pushing its faster than light engines.
The red dwarf system that was being set up as a base had numerous terrestrial planets and asteroid belts. It would someday become a highly developed system with lots of space habitats and infrastructure. It only had two gas giants however that were smaller than Saturn but they still had a fair bit of moons. It appears there were more gas giants and planets originally but a rogue stellar sized blackhole passed by the system a few million years ago that disturbed the planets' orbits and caused much of the current asteroid belts. Some of the asteroids show signs of past life on former planets. We wanted development to happen fast so we sent through thousands of replicators to the terrestrial world that the outpost city ship was being constructed on. They got to work creating underground bases in addition to helping build the city to allow for many low power and ultra low power subspace capacitors to be built. In a few months not only would the outpost city ship be done but the world would allow for dialing back to the home galaxy. The outpost city would accompany destiny after it was finished to help destiny continue to do its upgrades and expansion along with providing added security for destiny. The outpost city ship would often try to travel ahead of destiny to establish bases along the way to provide support and resources.
The outpost city ships were so successful and resilient that it was decided to send many out into the various galaxies around the universe to colonize and spread and preserve life as the ancients did before us. This would also allow for the upgrading of stargates as they went and colonized galaxies. Much research was being done into energy matter converters for both use on ships and to provide a way to create rare elements from the surplus energy we now have from the subspace capacitors. This was needed if we wished to expand into the voids of the universe and to allow much faster further development of the countless dead systems beyond our current use of carbon and silicon technology. As our systems get fully developed, which will take eons to really fully develop any star system, we plan to slowly upgrade their technology to the most advanced technology known which will require use of rare elements and material at a level never before seen even by the ancients. This is a long term project and can be worked on if we ever get the energy matter converters as we go. For instance, after a space habitat or base is made it would be possible to slowly upgrade it as they go even if they are mostly supporting the expansion within the system. Still, further development and expansion to other systems and galaxies will take priority over upgrading. Much research is also being done into transportation technology, various sizes of stargates for different uses (larger ones possibly for bigger ships, and smaller ones to allow for better communication and travel with much less power; the power requirements of a stargate grow exponentially with size), and time dilation (mostly for uses of production or in case of emergency).
About a dozen outpost city ships were nearing completion in each galaxy along with several regular city ships about halfways done in each galaxy. Because these were being done so quickly I decided to make some outpost city ships that would be about three times larger and therefore have a lot more weapons available and construction for making droids and ships on them. They would be good for massive battles and to serve as regional commands for whole sectors of fleets. Unlike the ancients, I wanted my city ships to have lots of energy weapons so we wouldn't have to rely on drones that run out. So I scaled up the energy weapons I already put on my other city ships onto these so they were harder hitting. I would only make a few of these, one for each region of space in a given galaxy, while I planned to make a ton of the outpost city ships in each galaxy with a few of the regular city ships like on my main planets or at my main centers of research. I myself planned to take control of one of the regular city ships until the capital sized outpost city ships were done (figured it was an easier way to denote its size). I was going to have one special capital sized outpost city ship per galaxy that would be like the regular city ships that were enhanced with the more advanced carbon and silicon technology that were doped with rare elements that would just be referred to as a capital city ship. The capital city ships would take three times as long as a regular capital outpost city ship to build which itself took three times as long as the outpost city ship to build. The regular city ships took about twice as long an outpost city ship to build but were really only really better for research or as a diplomatic outpost or capital while the capital city ships were for being my capital ship and the capitals of each galaxy. If a really important ally or an ally in a dangerous territory wanted a diplomatic center a capital city ship would be there instead of a regular city ship. So far for diplomatic reasons a capital city ship was being made to be placed by the Nox, the Asgard, and the Furling. For now with only outpost city ships done, one of each were being sent to ask where would be a good spot to set up an embassy for shared interests and furthering relations. We were currently scouring the database and sending to the furling anything to help them solve their infertility issues along with sending it to the Asgard and the Nox with a request to help their old allies. The furlings were a proud independent race that didn't often ask for anything so it was felt we needed to act on their behalf.
The tok'ra hadn't been heard from in a while so an outpost city was sent to make contact and set up nearby them whether it was that system or a nearby one and work on solving their issues with continuing their race. Some do not wish to join the replicators as synthetic life. We would also conduct research in general together and try to help the people of the galaxy recover from the goa'uld along with searching for races that were hiding from the goa'uld or that were eliminated by them in order to preserve their legacies. The tok'ra shared many of our archaeological interests in uncovering and preserving history. It was felt that the tok'ra would be perfect for aiding such research and together building museums and libraries on the various worlds of such finds. We would provide the protection, and together we would manage the facilities. It was decided that the tok'ra would also end up having a capital city ship nearby as they were the most advanced widely known species in the galaxy with the secretive ways of the Nox.
I was quite enjoying the outpost city ship that I was using, and decided to remain in it until a capital outpost city ship was done, and then finally occupy a capital city ship. At that point there would be numerous outpost city ships throughout the galaxies and the droid fleet would be massive while the replicator fleet would be quite large but only a few would be in each individual fleet. We already had a whole fleet available for each hive, they really stood no chance. We noticed a little more activity than in the past with the wraith. They seem to be suspicious of strange activity amongst the humans since we have started sheltering them. I would give them a chance upon us waking them to surrender and submit to a conversion to a form that no longer needed to feed on humans. I knew they would not know what to make of us so we would have to make a big show of force to make them aware how screwed they were so that we didn't have to wipe out their society completely. I requested Odin and his young son Thor to come to my city for a discussion.
Odin was impressed by the different design of the outpost city ships that made use of such simple materials and yet was so advanced. They had won their war against the replicators and decided to make use of what they were learning from both us and the replicators that they had faced. They were going to use asgard replicator bodies to house their minds and preserve their current bodies until such a time that they have figured out a complete cure to their issues. They have solved many problems but not how to undo so many of their mistakes. Their clones were too similar in genetics to support a health pool currently. What knowledge they did have was useful also to the furling that were dying. We passed on to them the idea, and some took it, to preserve their current bodies and use replicator bodies until such a time that they solve their fertility issues. Until such a time they would be able to preserve their culture, small as it is now. If all else failed both races were invited to join the replicators permanently to preserve their cultures and to pass it on. The asgard probably would eventually be able to solve their problems and be able to continue their race in the normal way, but for the furling it was unlikely as their numbers were down to a handful now. The ones that did take the replicator bodies let it be known that they did not expect them to solve their crisis, but were remaining and trying to help those that refused to be uploaded until such a time that they have all passed on. At that time they planned to join the replicators in full. When they did it would greatly expand our knowledge as their technology was quite different. The alterrans and the asgard always tended to focus on technology (although the alterrans tended to have vast knowledge in all areas of science) while the Nox and the furling were more focused on nature. The nox had a tendency to focus on the plant life while the furling had bigger of a focus on the animal kingdom. Both the Nox and the Furling were quite advanced, but chose to return to nature after reaching the stars and finding it wanting. When the furling joined the replicators they planned to bring much focus to the animal life of the biodomes, space habitats, and underground bases. The replicators had life in many areas but was mostly plant life other than in biodomes. The furling combined nature with their technology in a way like the wraith. Together the replicators with the furling knowledge was a strange hybrid of technology. They hadn't fully joined the replicators as they were staying with their brothers currently but they passed on their ideas and ways of thinking through the shared consciousness that can be reached into at times to communicate. It was already enhancing the replicators' technology by adding the furling biological technology to that of the replicators. It also greatly sped up the droid ship production. The furling intended to bring some of the droids to sentience with a combining of biological with the android like for commanders and on the main worlds where production was done. Their fellow replicators carried this out. This allowed for replicators to not have to babysit them as much and would allow a hybrid race to interact with on their main worlds. They tended to be few in number at any one place, and were rather affectionate and subservient to their creators. They just have a deep gratitude to the replicators, and especially the furling ones. Measures were taken to try to preserve the life of the new hybrid droids as they would not be considered disposable like other droids.
Having added the furling knowledge, much of the replicator ships and technology was now grown and then added to. City ships and large ships were especially faster to make. The basic structures and ships would be first grown at an incredible rate when fed energy. Then the replicator technology and surface materials would be placed over the ship. Looking at it from the outside and the inside, the ships would look largely the same but within the walls was a ship that was grown and could regenerate if damaged (the biological parts that is). The ship would have a sentience that would combine with the AIs to create a truly intelligent and innovative entity. Even the more basic AIs would now be quite intelligent. Only ships the size of carriers would have this combined intelligence. Ships of the size of cruisers and below may have an AI but the biological component is basically as intelligent as a plant or tree on purpose and therefore not connected to the AI. Small ships were more likely to be destroyed and we did not want to lose that many sentient beings. All AIs now had a hologram to interact and larger ones had a counterpart that was an android. They were like identical twins with a linked consciousness but separate entities. Droid ships and worlds may no longer be as disposable as before but are far more effective and faster to grow, make, and repair. The droid worlds that were intended to be returned to nature or the natives of the galaxy would not receive the biological AIs as it didn't feel right to later destroy them. The ones that would later be replicator worlds would just have their non biological components upgraded.
Getting back to the meeting with Odin and his son, they were asked if they would join me when we go after the wraith. They would be behind all the wraith ships with my replicator ships and my city ships. I knew that Odin said they would earlier, but they had just gone through a war with the replicators so I wasn't sure. They said they would be ready when my capital city ship was done. I shared how we were researching energy matter converters to enhance our production of rare elements as of right now only our particle colliders spread throughout the galaxies are producing any as our star lifting would take years to get going. I also shared how we were interested in transporters as they showed how useful they can be. I didn't want any of their technology, but I thought we could work on projects together for shared benefit. They were interested and gave us hints on what they noticed that allowed them to come up with their transporters. Together hopefully we will make more progress on the energy matter converters and time dilation.
Months later we met again. We had made a lot of progress with our research, and we were now gathering our fleets. The asgard had also sent asgard through to the galaxy destiny was found in and went to destiny itself to assist in the exploration and research there. The asgard only spent a short time at the base first made to support destiny to see how it was progressing but were intending to stay on destiny. Destiny was basically completely upgraded. They were not covering as much territory as before even with the increased speed as they were exploring more along the way and allowing the outpost city ship to build bases to support them as they go. They were currently at the far side of the galaxy destiny was found in while the outpost city ship is in the next galaxy building a base there like this galaxy. The outpost city ship was also sending out people to explore with corvettes, gate ships, and the like. Back at the original base, more outpost city ships were almost done and would be sent out throughout the galaxy. They would explore and colonize new systems. They would land, start a base and make a stargate, and then after it was set up enough to be self-sustaining it would head on. Along the way it would stop by systems with stargates to check out the planets and to upgrade the various stargates. If something interesting was found a small research facility would be set up before going on. We didn't want to use up or colonize worlds life could either develop or was already there but we would observe and possibly interact. Ruins and examples of technology were most sought after, after finding new allies and races of course. The systems that bases would be started on would get to making outpost city ships to head out and assist the original one. Most would be sent to areas within the galaxy, but some would be sent to investigate and colonize nearby galaxies. Any hostile resistance met would be avoided without starting a war if possible. Most exploration would be done covertly unless a friendly advanced enough race was found. Everything was usually done under cloak including the development and building of our systems. Once our research on time dilation and energy matter converters was done our expansion would really take off. The furling biological tech has already dramatically increased the rate of building, so with nanite slurries and energy matter converters being used on time dilation we could increase our growth rate exponentially.
Odin and Thor got into their ships and followed us as we headed toward the largest wraith gathering we knew of. Everywhere across the galaxy the same thing was happening. I just had gotten my capital city ship up and running, and I intended to put it to great use. I instructed all our ships to shield the asgard and the city ships were extending the aurora class shields that are used to cover the weapons towers that when raised extend beyond the city ship class shields. So now both the asgard and the city ships would have two shields around them. When possible, replicator ships would also be under the aurora class shields. Other replicator ships would be behind the city ships and ships would coordinate so that if a shield starts to fail another ship would shield it. In simulations, the AIs could cover seventy five percent of the ships with failing shields before they succumb. With how the wraith were outnumbered by every fleet, it was unlikely many ships' shields would fail unless rammed out of desperation. We would tow the asgard to the wraith as we were going with our faster than light drives instead of our hyperdrives.
It didn't take too long to get to the various sites and it took a few minutes to get the wraith up and going as they were hibernating. We hailed them and waited for their ships to rise to face us. We could tell they didn't know what to do, especially as the wraith were telling each other that they all were surrounded in every system that they were in. Some wraith didn't even get a chance to change their minds as they immediately attacked and were instantly destroyed before they could even respond. When we hailed them it was less of being hailed as a command to surrender and submit to being changed into a way that no longer needs to feed on humans. In most systems the most aggressive wraith ships were immediately destroyed before any of the others so that maybe some of the others would reconsider. Others tried to flee and were also immediately destroyed. Hardly any of my ships were taking any damage as tens of thousands of drones were already launched and waiting to act on any act of aggression or darts being launched. Three quarters of the wraith were destroyed within moments. About half of those that remained surrendered and started to attack the remaining wraith that refused to submit. Most that did surrender were ships without queens. Most of the queens refused to submit and forced their will on the other wraith nearby. During all this the people of the galaxy watched in awe as we had taken most of them up on our ships to watch what became of the wraith. They were shocked by the ships but even more shocked to see the wraith being decimated. Some of the replicator ships in each fleet took the remaining wraith under tow to research facilities. Some wraith would choose to become a replicator in order to not need to feed. They would be limited to but able to return to their hives if they behaved. Other wraith would choose to undergo a treatment to deactivate certain genes while activating others. These would be put back in hibernation until such time that the treatment was ready and that the particular wraith was ready for treatment. Odin and Thor were surprised by how badly the wraith were beaten, especially with how powerful they were considering what their sensors showed the asgard. They were happy we were on their side or they didn't know what anyone could do. The asgard soon left and headed home to enact changes to be more like their allies. The asgard would be more prosperous and stronger from what they had learned.
Many years later. . .
The replicators had continued with their allies to spread throughout the universe, bringing and protecting life along the way. They had reformed a great alliance, and eventually even convinced the ascended to participate. They had uncovered many discoveries, and added many races to the great alliance. They had figured out how to make transporters like the asgard, had figured out energy matter converters, and now know how to make use of time dilation fields. They have brought life and things into being where there was nothing. They now make city ships to bring life to the expanse of empty space. There is talk of possibly venturing into other dimensions, but that is being put off for now. They have helped nurture and tutor many races to join them in the stars, and brought to an end many conflicts. Usually them just showing up is enough to end a conflict with their great numbers. They have begun to upgrade themselves to be made of the most advanced materials known, and not just their technology being upgraded. After they figured out how to make energy matter converters they created power stations to just produce new materials and replicators out of the energy collected from subspace capacitors. They are not creating something from nothing, but subspace seems to have endless power and appears to expand with the rest of the universe. The mission continues upon destiny, and many ships like her have been made and sent out in all directions both looking for more of the signal and to just explore in general. The seed ships have been found and upgraded, and many more seeds ships have been created and sent out to both plant new stargates and update the old ones. Seed ships have also been sent out from the starting galaxies, along with from city ships of the various types sent out as fast as possible while creating more seed ships along the way. These seed ships both planted and upgraded stargates along with exploring the universe. They are more advanced and keep in constant contact with each other, and back home. More races have started to ascend, and some of the replicators have been helped too along the way. The ancients know their ancient brothers are out there and have been more proactive about what will happen when found. They remember the general direction they came from millions of years ago, but not the exact galaxy. This was done on purpose, but is now quite a pain. Research into containing ascended beings is being conducted in the hopes of sealing off their brothers, but if not they will rid the universe of them than allow them to subject other peoples to their will.
