A ER one shot of Luka and Sam as a couple and on a average weekend Luka has to call work to tell them that himself and Sam aren't coming into work on that day because he suspects that Sam might be coming down with the flu or even have a fever and feels it's best if they don't come into work.
Saturday January 8
Luka's POV I look at Sam and decide to ask her what kind of symptoms she has or is experiencing she said that her throat hurt and her sinus was really bad along with coughing and congestion I figured it was most likely a fever and cold but I decided to examine a few parts of her body and take her temp before knowing for sure I get the medical kit that we keep in our apartment for situations like this one I snap on the gloves and take a few supplies out.
Luka why are you wearing gloves and what is the tongue depressor throat swab penlight for and a thermometer? She questions me confused
Oh well I decided it would be best if I examined the parts of your body that are related to the symptoms that you are having I explain she just nods
Ok well I should check your temperature first I say picking up the thermometer
Here open up and I will slip this underneath you're tongue and then just close your mouth until it beeps I instruct her
She complies and opens her mouth and I slip the thermometer under her tongue and then she closes her mouth
I look down at my watch ok it should beep any minute now I tell her
Alright let's see open up again so I can look and see what the thermometer says I instruct her softly
She obediently does as I instruct her and I read the thermometer
Hmm 100.2 degrees that's quite a fever alright well I'm gonna check your eyes and throat and then get you some medicine and will be done with this ok love I tell her
She nods whimpering from her throat hurting
Ok just look straight at me this might be a bright I tell her
She just looks at me and tries hard not to get bothered by the brightness coming from the light
Your eyes look good and perfect like you I say flirting she blushes hard when I say that
Ok your not gonna like this next part very much love but I'll do my best to be quick with it I tell her calmly grabbing the tongue depressor
Sam I need you to open up really wide then stick your tongue out and say ahh i tell her showing her what to do
She complies and opens her mouth
Open a little wider Sam I instruct
Ok good now stick your tongue out and say ahh I instruct a second time
Ahh she says trying really hard not to gag but fails with her gag reflex being easily sensitive
Throats red tonsillitis are swollen I need to do a step test in order to know if it's strep or just a virus I tell her
She whimpers Luka it hurts really bad she says coughing
I know it's gonna be alright sshh I say to her soothingly
Open wide for me and say ahh but do it until I say you can stop and close your mouth I tell her
Ahh she says gagging even more
Ok all done I say putting it in a lab bag I'll ask carter to come and send this to the lab for me it will take 24 hours but until then you just rest I tell her
Close your eyes and try to sleep some more I reply instructing her in a whispering tone
A few hours later
Luka's POV I think I should give Sam some medicine now since it's been a few hours and I have her time to sleep and rest I'm gonna go get the medicine and a spoon and go to the bedroom to wake her up and give her some medicine so that she will get better soon.
I walk into the bedroom and see Sam in a deep sleep she stirs a little when I gently whisper to get her to wake up
What she groans
Baby I need to give you some medicine so you will feel better carter already came by when you were asleep and took the swab and dropped it off at the lab so we should get the results by sometime tomorrow I tell her measuring out the right dose of medicine onto the spoon I set the bottle of medicine on the nightstand and bring the spoonful to her lips
Cmon open up Sam this may taste like crap but it will make you feel better and there's a very good chance of you recovering quicker I instruct her
She obediently does as I say and I feed her the medicine and get her to swallow
Good girl I praise setting the spoon down into the nightstand next to me
