Chapter 1: New Life
Warm, that's what I felt. Like I was floating in warm water. It was like laying on a cloud with the sun gently embracing me. But darkness surrounded me. I couldn't see anything, couldn't open my eyes. But that didn't bother me, I basked in my warm surroundings. I could hear though, a sound like the steady beat of a drum. The sound was rhythmic and soothing. I don't know how long I was lying there before the rhythm around me picked up. This brought me out of my sleep like state. My mind began working slowly.
'Where am I, I remember...driving. I was driving home from work. It was pouring rain and then i saw headlights coming towards me. And then a crash, a car hit me. I remember the EMTs, I remember a hospital. Am I in a coma?' I felt my body move, I wasn't moving it. Something was pushing me, Firm but gentle and I felt something large grab me. Then there was light, I opened my eyes and it hurt! I screamed in shock and a baby's cry pierced the air.
'Was that my voice, I don't sound like that.' My eyes adjusted, surrounding me were blurry shapes much larger then me. It took a few moments for things to come into focus. There was also a floating box right in front of me, I read it.
YOU HAVE BEEN REINCARNATED
WELCOME TO THE GAME
YOU ARE PLAYING NARUTO DIFFICULTY: STORY MODE
YOUR CURRENT LOCATION IS IWAGAKURE
I blinked one, twice. My mind trying to process what it was seeing. 'What the hell, is this real, am I going crazy?' Distracted as I was I didn't notice what was going on around me, until I felt warm hands embrace me and the world came back into focus. I heard sounds all around me. The face of a women was staring down at me. She had green eyes, green like emeralds. A green so bright it practically glowed. Her hair was ink black and stuck to her face. Her tan skin was covered in sweat from some great exertion. The smile on her face was radiant despite that. She spoke to me, words I didn't understand. But the tone was gentle, loving.
I looked up at her. My emotions weren't mixed up and confused like I thought they would be. I wasn't scared or angry. I felt content. 'This must be my mother' I reached out with me pudgy little hands. She began to cry and laugh. I laid there in her arms, my mind thinking about that box above my head. 'What is going on? I have been reincarnated? I'm playing Naruto?' I just laid there in my mothers arms stumped.
'So I died and was reincarnated, like a light novel, well whatever is going on I'll figure it out.' After that thought I let out a yawn and fell back asleep.
Six Months later
I sat on the living room floor inside my house. My house like all buildings in Iwagakure was made of solid gray stone. Inside the house the walls were painted a soft yellow color, all of the floors were covered by large rugs of various design. The house wasn't large, but it was plenty big for me and my mother. Our house had two bedrooms and a study that was directly connected to the living room. The bathroom was next to the study and a modest kitchen filled the rest of our home. Small plants could be seen on the windowsills around the house, giving the house a little more life.
'So I have been reborn, I'm inside the world of Naruto. I'm in a village full of Ninja. Surrounded by other nations with villages full of ninja. These hidden villages have been at war with each other for hundreds of years. And in the shadows of this world are some real bad guys that want to bring the world to eternal peace through mind control. Yep that about sums it up.'
An unbelievable situation to be sure, but six months of living here has assured me it's real. And since it was real and I'm living here, I was going to make the most of it. Unfortunately, I wasn't making much of anything at the moment. Except maybe a turd.
Being a baby definitely wasn't great, I was tired most of the time. The only upside was that I had all the time I needed to think. I may have been jerked away from my home a world I knew and mostly loved. But at least I got some form of compensation for it. I was born with advantages, these advantages took the form of a game like system that I was born with.
'Character Status' I thought.

I had stats just like a video game. Each of these stats governed a piece of my physical and mental abilities. The higher the stats the stronger I would become. I had skills too, well two skills at least.
Gamers Mind - Allows the user to calmly and logically think things through. Immune to mentally illnesses.
'Yay, I won't turn into a school shooter' I thought looking at the skill again. That skill was very useful, it helped me think things through and prevented my emotions from taking over my mind. That helped keep me grounded these last six months. Otherwise I might still be a heaping mess from getting reincarnated into the Naruto world. It was also really good for planning things, my analytical ability definitely wasn't on any of my old resumes. So it was a great skill to have starting this adventure. But my other skill, that would be the skill that would help me accomplish great feats like shooting fireballs from my mouth and not getting chopped in half.
Gamers Body - Grants a body that allows for the user to live the real world like a game. When damage is taken you only feel pain for a few seconds and a loss of Health Points. Hp must hit 0 to die, sleep removes most negative status de-buffs.
Completely over powered, that's what this was. And that wasn't the end either.

'I'm gonna be the sweatiest gamer that the Naruto word has ever seen' I thought excitedly. I was cut off from my musings when the front door opened and my mom walked inside. I looked up from where I was on the floor. Readying myself for my next action. My mom shut the door behind her and looked at me smiling. "How's my little Hiro" she said, hanging her doctors coat on the stand by the door.
As quick as I could, I did two things I've never done before. I stood up and started walking towards her. "Mom" I said, reaching my little arms toward her. She looked shocked for a moment, but her smile reappeared and she quickly walked forward to pick me up. "Oh" she cooed, " my baby boy is so smart, walking and talking already!" She pressed me tightly against her chest covering me with hugs and kisses. It pleased me that I could make her so happy. Completing my first quest was nice too.

Three Years Six Months Later
I sat in my room looking at two Books I had begged my mother for, she finally gave in on my fourth birthday. Rock Solid Taijutsu Basics and Foundation for a Rock Solid body. These last few years had been boring, but you can't do much as a baby. I wanted to begin my shinobi training as soon as possible, this crazy world wouldn't wait for anyone. But my mother who WAS a doctor told me that serious physical training shouldn't start before four and even that was early. Thankfully the body of a Shinobi child was more mailable then any human would have been back on earth. So now I get to begin training and finally finish a quest that has been burning a hole in my eyes for months.

Not every quest was that rewarding though. Most just gave a small amount of experience. But it was still a quest so it made me stronger. Normal kids had to do chores for nothing. Not me though, Quest: Clean the House, I'm on it! Quest: Fold the Laundry, yes ma'am! Quest: Water the plants, too easy!
I was slowly but surely racking up the levels. There were other quests too, like the one I just completed. I called them growth quests, since they would help me grow into a better person. They were mostly quests to read books and increase my knowledge but I also got some to learn new skills. I did my best to complete them, my mother liked me learning new things and luckily for me she took my caviler attitude towards learning in stride. I suppose there were stranger things in this world.

"Just what I was hoping for" I mumbled getting off my bed. I was excited. I had been waiting to complete that last quest so I could set a training routine. Now I had physical training, to add to my studies and Shurikenjutsu training. Which I had started six months ago. That started when I bugged my ninja baby sitter Akira, to teach me how to throw Kunai.
Akira checked in on me twice during the day. Once around 0800 and once again around 1400. She use to watch me all day while my mother was at work, but by age three I was able to take care of myself for the most part.
She was a teenage girl with brown hair and brown eyes. She retired as a Chunin after losing her right hand in the Third Shinobi World War. The loss didn't seem to effect her too badly, she was sweet to me even when I was being an annoying little prick. Which wasn't often, but sometimes it's the only way to get what you want. And now it was time for me to start a full blown training routine.
I just need a Ninjutsu and Genjutsu technique. Maybe a chakra control exercise. But those would come in time, I was doing fine for now. I still had two more years before I could join the academy, plenty of time left to beg a ninjutsu technique into my lap. I walked into the living room, Akira was sitting on the couch reading a book. "I'm gonna go outback to workout Akira," I said heading to door. She looked up at me. "Okay, I'll probably be gone when your done. I'll see you again this afternoon." I waved my hand at her, "Goodbye then, thanks for checking in on me. I'll see you later." I replied stepping into the back yard.
It was a large yard surrounded by a eight foot high stone wall. Behind those walls you could see the looming mountains of Iwagakure. A Koi pond sat in the far corner surrounded by shrubs. In the opposite corner was a human shaped mud target Akira made for my target practice. The center was a empty clearing of dirt that's were I stopped.
'50 push-ups, 50 sit-ups, 50 squats,' I thought as I got to the ground in the leaning rest position. I did those workouts, paying attention to my form then I ran at a full sprint around the back yard. I took a quick break and started again. It only took me thirty minutes before my SP hit 0. I laid on the ground breathing heavily. I looked at the prompt hovering over me.
Athletics level up
'It's probably to much to hope for a level on day one, but this is a good start.' I was in a good mood when I walked back inside. I headed to the bathroom for a quick shower. After that came breakfast, I reheated the rice and fish mom made and scarfed it down. 'I miss pancakes' I thought longingly. 'I respect a healthy diet but every once in a while I could kill for IHOP.' I chased away those thoughts, it would never happen. Sadly there was no international house of pancakes here. Or any pancakes as far as I knew. So I headed to the living room and sat on the couch. I ran through hand seals. Slowly at first feeling how each seal effected my chakra differently. Then faster and faster.

'Well now that's done, I guess I'll start studying again.' I walked over to the large book shelf across the room. I picked out a book on history and another on geography before making my way back to the couch to study. I did that for the next two hours before i decided to practice Shurikenjutsu.
I grabbed the blunted kunai and dull shuriken from my room and headed outback. Standing across from the training dummy I threw my first kunai from twenty feet away. It hit the targets midsection. I followed up with two shuriken, one in each hand. One struck the target low and the other on the shoulder. I continued this practice for an hour before I saw a prompt.

I heard mom in the kitchen when I came inside. "Mom what did you bring home for lunch today?" I asked. "Udon" she replied setting the bowls on the table. "I'm going to have to eat quick today, I got behind at work."
"No Problem" I said before kissing her on the cheek, then sitting down. "Are you enjoying those books?" mom asked after swallowing some noodles. "Yeah they are great mom, I followed the beginner workouts already this morning, I'm going to practice my Taijutsu Katas after lunch"
"That's good baby, just don't over so it" She replied. We both finished eating within ten minutes. The noodles hit the spot, I was ready for some more training. "I have to head back Hiro, I'll see you tonight." Mom said giving me a hug and kiss then heading for the door. "See you later mom" I said from my chair, watching her go. After lunch i practiced my Taijutsu Kata. I got into simple stances practicing punches, kicks and blocks. I did some drills too. After an hour I got another prompt.

The rest of the day was spent fighting Boredom. I talked with Akira a bit when she checked in on me. But that was pretty much it, until mom came home around 1700. She looked tired as usual but I did my best to brighten her day. I knew her job was stressful, she was the Head of Shinobi rehabilitation at the Iwagakure Hospital.
So before she came home I completed another clean the house Quest which earned me a level me up. I just finished pouring tea for me and mom when she walked into the kitchen and sat down at the table. "How was work mom, did you catch up? "I asked after taking a sip of my tea. "Yeah I did, one of my patients finished his rehab. He will be back to his full Ninja duties tomorrow." She said with a smile. "That's good, I'm glad your home. Maybe we can do a puzzle after dinner?" I asked. "Sure Hiro, that sounds fun. I'll have dinner ready in a bit." She replied.
After another nutritious and delicious dinner followed by a 1000 piece puzzle it was time for bed. I went to bed by 2000 every night. Mom said children grow better with more sleep. So I followed her advice, I didn't wanna be short. The last thing I did before falling asleep was check my character status.

I finished up my stretch's before looking across at my mother. I raised my hands and made the seal of reconciliation, my mother mimicked me. Then I shuffle stepped forward launching two quick punches. With one hand behind her back, she swatted them both aside. I followed up with side kick that she stepped around and into me.
She launched a knee that I blocked with my palms, I used that force and launched myself into the air. With a pivot I tried to kick her in the head, she blocked it grabbing my leg and threw me away. I landed after a quick flip on the air. Three quick hand seals as I landed Ram, Snake, Tiger.
"Ninjutsu: Clone Technique" I said.
Three clones came into existence around me. Two clones came straight onto her while I came from the left and my last Clone went right. As we got within her range she quickly executed a wide sweep disrupting my front two clones.
My remaining Clone and I jumped over the attack and immediately counter attacked "Whirlwind Kick" she ducked my first kick and my following kick collided with her follow up kick. I flew away like a frisbee and barely managed to land on my feet.

I ignored the notification and spoke to my mom. "I'm glad your holding back" I said with a chuckle. Moving my leg to make sure it still worked, it did. "Of course baby, I'm here to help not hurt. Now show me what you got" she replied with a smile. Round two went like round one and round three went like round two. Three rounds was all I got to spar with mom, so I did my best to make them count.
"Your improving Hiro, your getting better with your Clone technique. And that Whirlwind Kick is getting faster. Not that I'm surprised," mom said after we finished.
"Well I do training every day, I'm a hard worker mom. Maybe...I deserve a reward." I replied suggestively. Mom put her chin between thumb and forefinger adopting a look of thoughtfulness. "Maybe I can get you a new book" she said. I sputtered "I don't want a new book!" It came out more childish then I would have liked.
She laughed "I'm just joking with you Hiro." She reached into the right cargo pocket of her pants and pulled out a scroll. "This is the last of the academy techniques, your not getting any more until your in school...at the earliest" she said seriously. I beamed approaching her "Thanks mom, your the best." I jumped and wrapped her in a hug before taking the scroll. Mom nodded and gave me a quick kiss before heading to the house. "After you finish Taijutsu training I'll have dinner ready. Don't forget to shower before you come to eat." She said without looking back. "Sure mom, I'll be in soon" I replied. I was already reading the scroll. As soon as I finished a prompt appeared.
Ninjutsu: Body Replacement Technique learned.
After closing the prompt I finished my Taijutsu training. I ran through all the stances in Rock Solid Taijutsu. Then i headed to my punching bag. After I beat the crap out of it, I practiced two of my home made Taijutsu techniques. Well kind of homemade. 'At least no one will know I stole them from Rock Lee of Konoha.' hopefully, I did rename them.
One was Flying Kick, previously Dynamic entry. The other Whirlwind Kick previously, Leaf Whirlwind.
Taijutsu - Flying Kick: Level 18
(18% reduced SP consumption)
Taijutsu - Whirlwind Kick: Level 18
(18% reduced SP consumption)
These two techniques also helped me unlock another Miscellaneous skill, the sister skill to Athletics.
Acrobatics - Level:25
(25% reduction to when doing acrobatics)
'My skills are taking forever to increase now though. It's probably because I haven't had any real guidance with them' That's what I thought anyway. There wasn't much I could do about it. I definitely wasn't a push over though, just the other day my mom said I could give fresh genie a run for their money. And I was only five. I still had a long way to go but I was progressing smoothly only one more year until the academy.
I picked up the scroll that mom gave me and headed inside. I got a quick shower before eating dinner with mom. Beef over rice with a side of miso soup. "Mom do you wanna go walk around the village?" I asked. She looked surprised, which made sense. I rarely left home. But it was a beautiful night, the temperature outside was just right. Iwagakure didn't get many insects and I wanted to test a skill I unlocked earlier this month when I hit level 10.
Observe - Level 1: Display's basic information about the target.
"Sure Hiro, where do you want to go?" Mom asked. "Can you show me how to get to the Ninja Academy? Then we can just walk around for a bit." I replied immediately. I've lived here five years now and I still didn't know we're the academy was.
"Sure baby, that's a good idea. I know a great place we can go after too. Change you cloths too, wear something a little nicer then your shirt and shorts." She said and then headed for her room. I went into my room and changed out of my clothing. I put on a pair of black cargo pants, over which I pulled on my Yukata. It was red with white stars throughout. I tied a black Obi in place to hold it together.
I looked in the mirror to make sure my hair was in order. It was Ink black like my mothers and pulled into a tight pony tail. One lose lock hung over my face, my almost glowing green eyes stared back at me. My face was still soft like any other child's, but you could see a hint of cheek bones under my pale skin. Nodding in satisfaction I grabbed my Geta and headed into the living room. My mother was dressed in a pink kimono covered in flowers. Her hair was in a bun with senbon holding it together. I observed her.
Name: Koharu Seki
Title: Head Doctor
Level: 82
Age: 26
Koharu is a proud Shinobi of Iwagakure, she has a son whom she loves very much.
"I'm ready mom, you look great." I said to her. She smiled down at me "You look handsome too Hiro, let's go then." She opened the door and we headed out into the village. We walked side by side down the road. Around us were various shops and stalls. Every once in a while a Shinobi would pass overhead on the rooftops. Which only on duty Shinobi were authorized to do. I observed them as they passed. There levels ranges were from the thirties to eighties. Which was good to know. After looking around all the way to the academy I thought I had a decent guess to how ninja ranks corresponded to levels.
Civilian adults generally ranged from level five to ten. Genin ranged from high twenties to low forties. Chunin from mid forties to low sixties. Tokubetsu Jonin ranged from Mid sixties to mid seventies. And every Jonin I saw, my mother included, was at least level eighty. But I had yet too see one ninety or above. 'I know there are outliers though, Kakashi, Gai, Zabuza, Asuma to name a few. Those guys aren't your average Jonin. And I can't even guess what level Kage's are.'
"Here we are" my mother said from my side. I looked ahead and there was the Iwagakure Shinobi Academy. "It's not quiet the way I imagined." There were six large buildings each two stories tall. They were placed in two neat rows. There was a large space I between both rows of buildings. All the buildings were made from stone just like every other permanent structure in Iwagakure.
"You thought it would be one giant building?" My mother asked rhetorically. "Each building is separated by Year and there are multiple classrooms in each building along with a kitchen. Between the buildings is the training grounds. I'm sure the Instructors will go into more detail next year. We have one more stop." We headed away from the academy deeper into the village.
It took about twenty minutes of walking until we got to our destination. From the distance it looked like a beautiful garden. It was the most green I had ever seen in Iwagakure. Then I saw the large Boulder by the path leading in, it read Tsuchikage. Beyond it were graves, hundreds, probably thousands. I stopped for a moment and stared. My mother stopped to and looked down at me, her eyes were a little foggy and she held out her hand "Come on Hiro, let's go visit your father."
"Okay" I said with a small voice. Sure I never met the man. And my mother didn't talk about him often. But he was my father, the man my mother loved who died in the last great Shinobi war. I took my moms hand and we kept walking. After a minutes we reached his grave.
Here lies Jonin Ryutsuchi Seki
Loving Husband and Father
Died at the battle for Tenchi Bridge
My his will of stone carry on
I looked up to my mother who was now crying silently, I squeezed her hand. She looked down at me and smiled. Then she turned to the headstone and spoke to it, to Dad. "I brought our son with me today Ryu. You would love him. He's smart, strong and Handsome too, just like you. Tell him about yourself Hiro." I looked up at her and nodded. "Hi dad, it's nice to finally meet you. I'm training to be a Ninja like you and mom. I'm going to be the best, ever. I'll make sure mom stays safe too. Don't worry about her, I've been looking after her for years and I'll keep on until I'm older then Lord Tsuchikage."

One Year Later
'Why did they have to make the entrance exams so early' I thought, getting out of bed. I went straight to the bathroom for a shower. The cool water helping to wake me up. After stepping out I put my hair into a ponytail and brushed my teeth. I dressed in what would now be my school outfit. Black cargo pants under a mahogany red yukata with a black obi. I slipped on my Geta and headed out the house.
Even at 0600 Iwagakure was busy, civilians walking from one place or another. As I headed for the Academy I was on the lookout for a place to eat. I didn't go out to eat much, but I think I finally figured out a breakfast to replace pancakes. I spotted a stall after walking for ten minutes."Kenjiros Dango, nice." I said to myself, walking into the stall and taking a seat. There were a few customers around me. One a Kunoichi and another an older civilian man. I picked up a menu and gave it a quick look. It had everything I wanted.
"What can I get for you kid" the young man asked from behind the counter. "Three red, three yellow and three brown Dango please." I replied. "Coming right up, you want something to drink." He asked. "Some tea please" I said.
The man poured me a cup of tea before getting to cooking my Dango. I swung my legs on the seat childishly while I waited for the food to cook. 'I need to do well on these exams, mom said if I do great I'll get to skip the first year of the Academy'. Which sounded good to me, the first year of the academy sounded like remedial training and studying to me.
My Dango came after a few minutes of waiting. I picked up a red Dango and took a bit, it tasted fantastic. The red bean paste flavors were amazing. Then I took a bite of the yellow, the egg flavor went with the red bean past nicely. I finished the red and yellow and moved to the brown. They were sweet and light. Perfect.
It was the best breakfast I've had in six years. After finishing them up I placed 350 Ryo on the counter and left. I arrived at the academy after another ten minutes. When I approached I saw a sign that said, "Entrance Exams front middle building" it had an arrow above the writing pointing to the building. I entered the building and looked around, the first door I saw on my right had a sign above it. 'Well at least no one would get lost,' I thought as I entered the class room.
It was large, with four rows of stone desks rising above one another on one side. And the teachers desk in front of the black board on the other. "Your a little early" the teacher sitting behind the desk informed me. "Pick a seat, there are still thirty minutes until the exams start." Nodding my head I replied, "Sure thing Sensei." Before turning to go to my seat is cast observe on the teacher.
Name: Izumi Ogawa
Title: Teacher
Age: 25
Level: 51
Izumi is a new teacher at the Iwagakure Shinobi Academy. He's a hard worker and even handed. He believes in hard work and a proper education.
"There's only one other student here so far, take a seat next to her" Izumi said. I nodded and looked for the other student when I saw her, I recognized her. As I walked over and set down beside her I triggered observe.
Name: Kurotsuchi Yamagata
Title: Blood of the Tsuchikage
Age: 6
Level: 17
Kurotsuchi is the Great granddaughter of the First Tsuchikage and the Granddaughter of the Third Tsuchikage. She's willful and proud and she usually gets what she wants. Her dream is to be the Fourth Tsuchikage.
Kurotsuchi had shoulder width black hair framing her round face. Her pink eyes were very distinct. She wore a red shirt with a high color and brown pants, the colors of an Iwagakure Shinobi. I quickly stuck out my left hand and said "Nice to meet you my names Hirotsuchi Seki." Kurotsuchi only needed a second to respond taking my hand and shaking it. "Nice to meet you, I'm Kurotsuchi. But my friends call me Kuro. Do you go by Hiro?" She asked.
"Yeah, that's what my mom calls me, you can call me that too if you want." I replied. "Okay" she said. "So are you trying to skip the academy too" she asked. "As much as I can" I replied. "I wanna be a Ninja as soon as I can." Kuro nodded her head at my words. "Me too, the sooner I become a ninja the sooner I can become Tsuchikage. Then my grandpa can retire and spend some time at home."
"Your grandfather is Lord Tsuchikage?" I asked, even though I know the answer. "Yep" she said. "He's been the Tsuchikage since forever. But he's real old now, so he needs someone strong to replace him." I smiled at the girl, "I'm rooting for you Kuro, I'm sure you'll make a great Tsuchikage some day." Kuro's smile widened, "Yeah it will be great, I'll make Iwa the strongest and crush the other villages."
I faltered at that, I understood wanting the best for your people. But even though I was born into this world and I knew it was a messed up place. I still preferred peace and not through submission, or mind control. But regardless of my thoughts I just said. "That's good, I'll help protect Iwa too. So, have you been training to be a Shinobi" I asked. Kuro nodded, "I've been training since I was four. My grandpa got teachers for me and everything. They said this test would be a piece of cake."
"That's awesome" I said then looked around, the seats around us started filling up with more children. "Well good luck Kuro, I think the test is gonna start soon." Kuro gave me a thumbs up "Good luck Hiro, maybe we will end up in the same class. I guess we'll see." Kuro said before the Instructor began to speak.
"Okay everyone quiet down, I'm going to pass out the tests in a moment. It's one hundred questions and covers all the topics that we teach during the first year. If you do well enough some of you will start this school year with the Second year students." Izumi said before clearing his throat and continuing. "Now once all the tests are passed out I'm going to start a timer. You have an hour and a half to finish the test. If I even think someone is cheating I will throw you out the class and you can start this year in year one. Do not start your test until I tell you too."
"When you finish your test turn it over and remain in your seat until the timer stops." Izumi then walked around all of us students and placed the tests face down. After he finished he walked back to his desk and placed a large timer on it. His finger hovered over it for a second before saying "Start" and clicking the timer. I flipped the test over and looked at the first question.
1. What country is surrounded by Bear Country, Fang Country and Waterfall Country? Earth country, I answered quickly.
2. What Major Country is between Earth Country and Water Country? Fire Country
11. What is the name of the First Tsuchikage? Ishikawa.
12. How did the Second Tsuchikage die? The Second Tsuchikage Mu, died killing the Second Mizukage.
The test went on and on. Geography, History, Mathematics, Science, Grammar etc. Nothing too advanced but the test covered a wide range of subjects. I also noticed how they seemed to tie in Shinobi into most questions. I finished in about an hour turning my test over and waiting. Kurotsuchi finished her test only a few minutes after I did. By the time the timer when off most of the students seemed to have finished their tests.
"Okay everyone, thank you for coming today. You can all leave, you will have the results a day before classes start." Izumi said getting you from his desk to collect the tests. I got up from my seat and made for the door but stopped at Kurotsuchi's voice. "Hey Hiro," she said coming up behind me. "Do you wanna come over to my house and train, I got a really fun obstacle course." I didn't have any other plans today, mom was already at work. And I did need to do my athletic training still. "Sure" I replied, "that sounds fun. How far is your house?"
"It's about twenty minutes from here, it's on the west side of the village, right in front of mount Iwaki. Sometimes I sneak out to climb the mountain when aunty Chiyoko is out." She finished in a whisper sliding closer to me. "That sounds so fun, I would love to climb a mountain" I said to her. Kuro smiled widely at me, "Yeah it would be super fun and we could throw Ninjutsu around." "You know ninjutsu techniques?" I asked. "A couple" she replied, "Nothing cool yet, but I'm sure I'll learn some soon." I nodded to her "Me too, I'm gonna make tornados and fire dragons." Kurotsuchi laughed "Well I'm gonna make volcanos! And I'm gonna fly just like Grandpa"
"Lord Tsuchikage can fly?" I asked, I remembered a bit about Oniki but the longer I stayed here the more my memory seemed to fade. "Yep he can fly, and do so many cool things. He's the strongest Shinobi in the world, even if he is an old man." She said with pride. We walked and talked all the way to her house. Which wasn't a house, it was a mansion. A huge mansion at the foot of a giant mountain.
"Wow, nice house Kuro" I said as we made our way inside. The interior of the house was just as magnificent as the outside. The living room was painted in rich red colors accented with gold. The floors were covered with large thick rugs and one side of the living room was covered with wall to wall books. Kurotsuchi Nodded her head smiling, "Yeah it's great, come on The obstacle course is out back."
We walked through the living room to the back door. Her back yard was huge, at least ten times the size of my own and the obstacle course was also large. "It's a replica of the obstacle course at the Academy, I've been plying on it since I was little. Want to give it a try?"

"Yeah I'll give it a shot, watch me". I said as I approached the course at a jog. I stopped and observed it for a minute, trying to get a feel for it. Then I walked back to the starting point.
With a burst of speed I ran up the high wall in front of me and grabbed the edge, pulling myself on top of the wall. Once up there I sprinted across a narrow piece of wood connecting it to a tall log that came out of the ground. I then jumped from log to log carefully with my footing with landing. Three feet from the last log were a series of monkey bars. I made a successful leaping grab, then swung myself across the bars.
I reached a rock climbing wall that ascended another ten feet. I quickly began climbing up, then followed the hand holds further. They led me across ten feet and then down twenty feet to ground level. From there I went over and under a series of logs before I reached a lake with large leaves floating on it.
I sprinted as fast as I could across the leaves, I could feel them sink as soon as I touched them but I made it. Then I had to climb a long rope and attached to the end was a bell, I rung it. "How was that Kuro?" I shouted from the top, before sliding back down. I hit the ground softly and made my way to Kuro who stood there looking shocked.

"So, what's my time" I asked, genuinely curious. "Fifty Eight seconds!" She shouted. "That's awesome Hiro, that's my best time. How are you so fast" she asked. I smiled at her "I started training when I was four as well, and I workout every day. I never take a break. I do a bunch of different stuff, do you wanna train with me?"
We spent hours in the back yard, I showed her my workout routine and she showed me a few different things. We ran the obstacle course some more. We did some Shurikenjutsu practice on moving targets she had. But I declined to spar, saying we had plenty of time when we start class next week. By noon we were both exhausted but happy and definitely friends.
"I should go" I told Kuro after we finished up some more target practice. " I have to meet my mom for lunch." Kuro nodded "Okay, I'm gonna go make lunch and bring it to grandpa. I guess I'll see you again when school starts?" She asked. "Of course, I'm sure we will both be in the same class. And if not we can meet up after school and go train." I said confidently. Kuro smiled "Yea! Thanks for coming over Hiro it was fun. I'll show you out."
Kurotsuchi escorted me out of the house and then I made my way home. The rest of the week went by in a blur. With me impatiently awaiting my results. I was confident I aced the test but you never know. Five days later I just came inside from my morning training when I heard a knock on the door. I opened the door to see a young ninja, he smiled at me.
"Are you Hirotsuchi" he asked. "Yea, do you have the exams results?" I asked. He offered a small scroll to me. "Here you go, everything you need to know is in there. Have a good day kid." Then with a hand seal he quickly disappeared.
'Body Flicker technique' I thought offhandedly as I closed the door. I walked back over and sat on the coach opening the scroll.

I never thought I would be excited for school, in my previously life it was more of a chore. But knowing that once I graduate I would be a fully fledged Ninja, I really wanted to do my best. There's still a long way to go, I need the strength to fight the like of Uchiha Itachi, Hoshigaki Kisame and Pain. At least there should still be time. Itachi should still be in Konoha if this world remains true to its Original Timeline and probably an Anbu Captain by now. But there was no way for me to know for sure what was happening in the deepest shadows of the shinobi would, I could only guess. Just focus on my strength, one step at a time. Starting with going to the Academy.
