This story is about Remus Lupin having a daughter. We know his daughter is his daughter but she doesn't. When an accident happens Remus is forced into the knowledge that his daughter has been kept from him for years

In his 7th year at Hogwarts Remus Lupin had one girlfriend. Charity Burbage. She was in the same year as him. They slept together twice. Til she realised how much Remus was lying. His mom had died over a year ago and he was still using them excuse that his mom was ill to have time away from school. He told her he was in the library but when she went to find him he was never there. Se knew that he was getting James and Sirius to lie to her for him. She could tell from every guilty look they shared before telling her some random stuff about being with this professor or that prefect. She decided she needed to confront him.

"Remus, what is wrong with you, I know you're lying. I know your friends are lying. I know somethings wrong. I know something is different. Just tell me. Tell me and i can help." Charity begged him a feeling of nausea overwhelming her. Remus got a cold look on his face and they fell into silence, they sat there waiting for one or the other to speak. Finally the boy couldn't take it anymore.

"I can't be with you," Remus burst out, "I'm not happy, I don't want to do this anymore. I don't wanna be stuck with one person, I wanna be a teenager Charity. I wanna have fun and not worry about this relationship." It took Charity a minute to register what he had said. She let her face fall as tears started to spill from her eyes and ran from the common room. She paused briefly looking back at the boy behind her, "did I ever even know you Lupin, were you just lying to get into my fricking pants," She snarled looking at him in disgust. She turned on her heel an walked ou the common room, feeling another bout of nausea and running towards one of the girls bathrooms.

James and Sirius who had watched entire exchange, saw the tears threaten to fall from their friends eyes. Sirius let Remus hug him hearing the boy whimper, "I love her, ya know. She doesn't deserve to live with a monster." James and Sirius shared a pointed look, frowning.

Lily walked in the common room, "what's up with Char..." She stopped seeing Remus clinging to Sirius' shoulder. James led her out explaining what had happened.

Charity had ran to the Owlery, she owled her mom asking about leaving hogwarts, she wouldn't be able to handle being there. Within 48 hours she had left Hogwarts. When the Marauders had realised this they tried to distract Remus with everything they could.

"Prongs, I know she's gone, I screwed up. I coud have told her but she's gone now. I will be okay. I don't want to get into any more relationships." Remus told James as he fussed over him.

(November: 9 months later)

The cry of a baby could be heard every where in the apartment. Charity lived there alone with her 3 week old daughter, Ziona Zen Burbage. Her parents had kicked her out when they found out that she was pregnant, she had enough money to last her a few years from just her trust fund. She had got a job in a bookshop and had a house elf to babysit her daughter while she worked. Remus Lupin woud never know about her daughter, not until Zi wanted to know her father.

Charity hid herself under glamours and wards. She went to Order of the Phoenix meetings. She used the name Emily Topkin so that Remus didn't recognise her, She fought her part in the war. She watched Remus grow more depressed only animated by talking about the marauders and James and Lily's wedding. She watched her daughter grow, videoed her first words, her first steps. Hearing her say "dada" tugged at her heart, she wanted to go to Remus, show him their daughter introduce them. But she couldn't Remus told her when he broke up with her, he didn't need to be saddled with a kid at his age, Ziona was Charity's responsibilty.

She watched Lily and James get married and Lily get pregnant with her first child. She watched them go into hiding and started declining to go on missions when Dumbledore asked her to. She stayed at home with Ziona as much as she could. Ziona was growing quickly, she slept most nights but had some time on full moons when she just wouldn't settle. Charity had no idea why her daughter wouldn't settle but assumed it would get better in the next few years.

October 13th, Ziona's 3rd birthday passed and as halloween rolled around Charity felt something creeping up on her. On the morn of November 1st 1981 the daily prophet gave her the reason. Peter, James and Lily were dead and Sirius in Azkaban for betraying them. Charity collapsed in her seat, "Muma?" Her daughter's voice questioned.

"Zia, he's gone, the bad man is gone baby." Ziona saw the smile on her mothers face and giggled.

Charity was ready to see Ziona grow up, her fourth birthday came around and her personality came with it. She was a little book worm and couldn't get enough of being read to. She loved the stars and always liked looking for the north star. She was an inquisitive child and wanted to know eveything about everything.

When she was 5, she started asking about her dad. Charity started telling her all the stories of her father and his best friends. She never told Ziona her fathers name she knew that Remus was not that much of a common name, she knew Zia would find out one day. But she didn't want to tell her yet. She didn't want Ziona to face the rejection that Charity had less than 6 years before. Charity had been prepared to give Remus Lupin her everything but it had been thrown back into her face.

When she was 6, Ziona started muggle school and was soon top of all her classes as top as you could be at that age. She ddn't have many friends, used to it just being her and her mother. She showed her first signs of magic, when she jumped of a swing at the top, and floated down to the floor. She kept trying to make it happen again, when she was frustrated she started levitiating objects around her, it was good that she was smart, that wouldn't do to have things floating around in class.

When she was 7, she started openning up more. She started feeling the full moon worse. Trying to sleep in the moonlight every full moon. Drawing pictures of the moon every day. Charity thought she would be amazing at astronomy at Hogwarts. She was extremely interested in star sighs which also showed she could be good at Divination.

When she was 8, she started reading simple charms books and working through the theory of potions and Transfiguration. She started pranking her mother when she found out her dad was in a pranking group. Charity loved the little pranks that Ziona played. The switching the sugar for salt and the cold water in the morning. It reminded her of Remus and she smiled bittersweetly at every little prank.

When she was 9, Charity brought Ziona her first broom only to find out the girl was hopeless and terrified of heights. But she loved flying laps close to the ground in a field near the small cottage they bought that year. She mostly enjoyed sitting beneath the tree reading quietly while her mother watched her out the window. She started reading at a higher level, and she loved it.

When she was 10, Ziona begged Charity to tell her more about her father. Charity continued to refused the information. Remus had left her and that was how it was going to stay. Charity began her potions work again. She started her research for when her daughter would go to Hogwarts the next year. She was going to try to invent a new truth serum to help with falsely imprisoined people. She knew there were people who hadn't done anything stuck in Azkaban and she knew how wrong it was for people to be stuck with dementors for years.

When she was 11, Ziona waited every day for her Hogwarts letter. Her birthday was October 13th which meant she needed almost a year to wait to go to school. She counted the days as she waited. She finally saw it on June 26th. A brown barn owl with the parchment with the emerald green quillwork. "Mummy, it came!" Ziona yelled down the stairs as her mom laughed at her expression. Charity knew then it was time to tell Ziona everything. She told Ziona that her father new nothing about her and that one day she could meet him if she wanted to but it wasn't an option until she was 17, unless something had happened to her. Ziona understood and carried on her excitement, she was finally going to Hogwarts. They went shopping for all her stuff and Ziona was ready on August 31 1989. SHe went to sleep exciting for the next day.

September 1st 1989

Ziona brushed out her long wavy brown hair as she stared at her refection in the mirror. She ccouldn't wait to go to school. She had her trunk packed up and her kitten Seren. Her mother wanted to be early. They rushed to the car and got there at 20 past 10. They saw a large family of redheads arriving as the arrived.

"They're the Weasleys, Zia. They were in the order with me, And Molly Weasley was headgirl when I was a 3rd Year." Charity told her daughter.

Charity held Ziona's hand as they ran through the wall. Zia pushing her trolley with her trunk in it. Charity explained to Ziona that she had work at 11 and had to leave before the train did. Ziona nodded as she was overwhelmed by the noises of the owls and children all saying goodbyes to their parents. Charity hugged Ziona and had to rush as soon as she got on the train.

"I love you Zia, I'll hopefully see you at Christmas, and please try to make some friends love," Charity kissed her daughters forehead as she got on the train.

Ziona sat in the compartment reading Wind in The Willows and humming a tune while stroking Serens white fur. The cat purred in content. Ziona had only read a page before 2 identical redheads, Serena's hairs stood on end. The boys laughed and it took them a moment to realise that Ziona was here.

They both apologised.

"I'm Fred..."

"...And I'm George Weasley."

"We're first years..."

"Guessing you are too"

"Wow I can tell talking to you two is gonna be like watching a tenis match. I'm Ziona Burbage. And this is Serena" She said gesturing to the small kitten in her arm,

"Sorry," The one who introduced himself as Fred apologised, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly, "And your kitten is adorable." He help his hand out questioningly to touch the kitten. Ziona held the kitten out to let the twins stroe her. Serena basked in the attention. And Ziona giggled as her cat purred and rubbed into the touch of the boys.

The 3 talked about how they thought the sorting ceremony would happen. The twins both thought it was a test. Ziona knew it was the hat but their theories were too funny for her to break the news to them. The conversation moved onto their families.

"Our entire family has been gryffindor, if we don't, I don't know how they'd react." George explained to her.

"My mother was a Ravenclaw and she's so smart. I kinda want to be a Gryffindor. I never met my dad, he doesn't even know about me but mom says he was a Gryffindor," Ziona said thoughtfully realising she really did want to be a gryffindor.

The twins were shocked to know that her father didnt even know about her, they couldn't imagine not having a dad, wacky and muggle-obsessed as he is. They were later joined by Lee Jordan who told them he wanted to be a Gryffindor too. They all became fast friends.

They changed into their robes, Ziona putting them over her leggings and shirt. They got of the train and all gazed in wonderment at the half giant form of hagrid. They rushed into the boats sharing a boat to the four of them. Fred helping Ziona into the boat she started blushing slightly. They stared in wonderment as the school came into view. The boats sailed quickly through the lake, and pulled quickly towards the boathouse. They all rushed out the boat and through the corridor. They were stopped by a stern lady.

"Hello first years. My name is professor McGonagal, I am the Deputy Head and the Head Of Gryffindor House. I suppose a few of you will be in my House and I expect nothing but the best from people who are in the house of the lion. In a few moments you will join your classmates in the hall. Professor Dumbledore will send someone to get us in a few moments, does anyone have any questions?"

Ziona stood nervously in between the twins. Everyone could see they were already protective of her. McGonagal smiled at the nervous looking girl wondering why her eyes looked so familiar. Professor Flitwick poked his head through the door, "Theyre ready Minevra."

McGonagal rounded up the first year and brought them into the Dining Hall. Ziona looked around in awe at the floating candes and the ghosts sat at the tables. They stopped at the front.

"When I call your name please step forwards," McGonagal called. Ziona cursed her mothers surname.

"Burbage, Ziona" McGonagal called.

Ziona stumbled forwards and sat on the 3 legged stool as the hat was placed on her head.

"Ah, lets see," the hats voice vibrated through her head, "you are very smart not unlike your mother, but you have a nack for causing mischief, your father did too though he would never admit it."

"You knew my father? I mean you know who he is," she thought desperately.

"Indeed, I did my dear. He was very brave but I cannot tell you who he is. You will find out yourself soon enough child. But I can tell you, you will be the most important thing in his life. Now for your sorting, you are very brave my dear, better be..."

"Gryffindor!" The hat bellowed on top of her head, a huge grin broke out on her face. She rushed down handing the hat to Proffesor McGonagal. She shook a couple of her new housemates hands as she watched the sorting. She didnt pay much mind to the rest of the people but cheered as other people joined her house, even louder when Lee slipped onto the seat in front of her and even louder when Fred and George sat down on either side of her.

Professor Dumbledore said a few words to the student body and when he sat down food appeared on the tables. Ziona had some medium rare meat, she had always preferred her meat extra rare but this would have to do til she managed to speak to the house elves. She laughed with her new friends and discussed pranks with the twins. They knew they had to do a big prank to let the school know that the next generation of pranksters were there after years of mediocre competition. They were ready to start the year off with a bang.

After half an hour the prefects called for the first years to follow them. "Mind the stairs, they like to change." The prefect explained as one of the stairs above them started to swing, enthasising his point. They waled to the common room, the passoword was 'Niffler' and they all went to get ready for bed. Ziona hugged Fred and George and arranged to meet each other in the morning in the common room. She rushed up to bed finding Serena staring at her from her spot on the bed.

She introduced herself to Angelina abd Alicia, her dorm mates. They both loved her kitten and asked to hold her. Serena hissed as Ziona tried to move her. She glanced at them apologetically as they laughed, "don't mind it Z, she looks comfy."

Ziona put Serena on her pillow, and got up to change into her pjs. she threw on a jumper that was her dads and some shorts. The girls talked about everything, inevitably the converation turned to family.

"My dads muggleborn and my moms pureblood, they wanted to send me to Beauxbatons, cuz mom went there but dad went here, and he wanted me to."

"I'm a half blood but not sure how," Alicia shrugged." How about you, Z"

"I don't know, moms a pureblood, but I don't know who my dad is. I've never met him and mom says I shouldn't but the hat said I'll meet him soon. So I really don't know," Ziona hugged her legs to her chest.

The girls hugged her and said ,maybe she shoul sleep. Ziona kept an eye out the window, wishing it was the full moon so she could get the comfort of it.

She lay in bed with Serena in her arms. As she slowly drifted off she imagined being in a tall mans arms, a tall man with chestnut brown hair. A small smile tugged at her lips as she drifted off.
