Jackie Lynn Thomas had a reputation. She was this unflappable, yet kind girl that took on everything with a serene smile. Truthfully, if you were to ask someone how to catch her off-guard, you'd walk away with no answers.

But even she had her limits. Even she could feel emotions.

And currently, sitting on a bench far away from home, Jackie sobbed to her heart's content, having just broken up with Marco, one of her childhood friends.

"What's wrong, girl?"

Jackie stopped crying and wiped away her tears, calming down once she saw the one asking the question was Janna Ordonia, another one of her friends.

"Oh... I-It's nothing, Janna, don't mind me."

"Shell of Steel" Jackie's crying her heart out! That's anything but nothing!" Janna stated before flashing a sneaky smile. "I want all the juicy details right now."

Jackie looked away. "It's nothing, really, I just... I broke up with Marco just now."

Janna's eyes widened. "You did?"

"I... He doesn't feel comfortable in Echo Creek anymore," Jackie sniffed. "I think he's gonna go back to Mewni."

Janna sat next to Jackie. "That boy wanted to date you for so long, and now that he gets what he wants, he decides he's got better things to do in another dimension?"

"It's not his fault-"

"I know it's not his fault, but I'm human! I have an insatiable need to blame everybody but myself for one of my friend's emotional turmoil!"

Jackie let out a hearty chuckle.

"Now there's the Jackie I know and love," Janna said as she wiped off more of Jackie's tears. "Listen, if you got nothing better to do, how about you come rob some graves with me?"

"Yeah, uh, no," Jackie waved her hand. "I'm nowhere near that hardcore."

"Well, we can think of something else eventually," Janna stood up. "For now, it's getting late. You should go back home, I'm gonna get ready to go to the graveyard."

Jackie lowered her eyelids. "You're gonna go rob some graves, aren't you?"

Janna affectionately pinched Jackie's cheek. "You know me so well!"

Gently slapping her hand away, Jackie rubbed her pinched cheek as Janna bid farewell, flashing a peace sign as she left. Soon after, Jackie took a moment to catch her breath and calm herself down.

"I... I should go home now."

She stood up, and walked to the nearest bus stop, where there was a bus in between a set of cars.

And once she got close enough, Jackie saw the doors open on their own... to reveal a swirling green portal.

"Why do I get the feeling Star has something to do with this?"

With little options on her side, Jackie entered the bus... and was stunned by what she saw on the other side.

It wasn't a bus, that's for sure.

Instead, she found herself standing on an island in the middle of the ocean, with several other islands all around her.

"Hello there!"

Jackie flinched and turned around... only to encounter a decidedly interdimensional entity: a bunch of sentient water with the dopiest expression she had ever seen.

"Hi, I'm Randall!" he said. "Welcome to the Infinity Train!"

"Infinity what?" Jackie waved her hand. "There must be a mistake, I didn't board any train: I boarded a bus!"

Randall tilted his head. "Then what's that on your palm?"

Jackie looked at her palm... and her eyes widened at what she saw.

There was a green, glowing "49" number on it.

"What's going on?"
